Joseph Kane

Joseph Edward Kane, 90, died Friday, May 3, 2013 at home. He was born to the late Joseph Maurice and Beryl Kane on March 22, 1923 in Chicago, Il. A veteran of WWII, he resided over 50 years in CA; working 31 years for Eastman Kodak. Joe and his wife of 40 years, Starr, moved to Bella Vista in 1997 where they continued to enjoy travel, time spent with family and his passion for golf.

He is survived by his wife and best friend, Starr; son Joseph Edward Kane, Jr. (Cathleen); daughters Maureen Wolfe (James) and Kathyrn Ramsey (Kenneth); step-daughter Michelle Turr (Stephen); sister, Mary Beryl Houlihan; brother, John (Marianne); twelve grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; many nieces and cousins and wonderful friends. Joe's presence in the lives of his family and friends will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Bella Vista Animal Shelter or the Bella Vista Library. There will be no services and internment will be private.

Michael Pierson

Michael Allen Pierson was born July, 3rd 1949 in Piqua, Ohio to Richard and Therese Pierson. After he graduated from High School he moved to Las Vegas, NV where he lived until he was drafted into the U.S. Armed Forces.

He trained at Fort Ord California before he was sent to Vietnam. Before he left his father gave him a wishbone to wear around his neck while he was in Vietnam so that they could pull it together upon his safe arrival home. Michael took the nickname “Wishbone” with him into the 5th Battalion of the 12th Infantry of the 199th division in 1969. He served in Vietnam until 1971 when He returned home, with his wishbone still around his neck, to Las Vegas from the Eleventh Armored Calvary as Specialist Four and Honorary Blackhorse Trooper with two medals.

He then moved to Northwest Arkansas where he spent the remainder of his life. He worked as a painter, in mechanical maintenance, and in his retirement he worked from home as a wood craftsman which he enjoyed and was very talented at. He was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Therese Pierson. He is survived by Geraldean Pierson his wife of the home, his brother Dave Pierson of Piqua, Ohio, two sons Joe Pierson and wife Mariah of the Fayetteville area, and son Ben Pierson of Bentonville, AR, and three grandchildren.

Graveside service will be Monday, May 6, 2013 at 1:00 at Fayetteville National Cemetery. Full military honors will be provided by the Northwest Arkansas Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks in honor of Michael Pierson to support the Hospice Palliative Care Unit, Chief, Voluntary Service (135), VHSO, 1100 N College Ave., Fayetteville, AR 72703.

Joyce Farrell

Joyce M. Farrell, 82, of Fayetteville, Arkansas died Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Willard Walker Hospice House.

She was preceded by her husband, Peter S. Farrell III.

She is survived by her son, Peter Farrell and his wife, Amy; daughter, Kimberly Farrell, of Fayetteville; and many other loving relatives.

Janet M. Dial

Janet Margaret Dial, 75, of Fayetteville, Arkansas died Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was born September 22, 1937 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin the daughter of Robert Kohn and Clementine Grebe Kohn.

She lived in Northwest Arkansas for 63 years after moving from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Janet was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to all of her family. She enjoyed cooking for her family. Janet also enjoyed watching sports, especially, the Packers, Yankees, and Braves.

Janet was an active member of Sycamore Baptist Church in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She loved and was a devoted follower of her Lord Jesus Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Janet is survived by: her husband of 57 years Walter Dial, of Fayetteville; her three sons; Walter David Dial III and his wife Jewelene, and their children; Walter David Dial IV and Megan Dial, of Bentonville; Britt Dial and his wife Kay, and their children; Shea Dial and Gunner Dial, of Springdale; Clay Dial and his wife Marsha, and their children; Daniel Dial, Lakin Williamson, and Erin Williamson, of Tupelo, MS; her three daughters; Marlene Hinson and her husband Jerry, of South Carolina, and her children; Johnathan David Dial Sr. and his wife Lydia, and their children John David Dial Jr., Rene Dial, Henry Dial, Chloe Dial, and George Dial; Jasah Jones and her husband, Mark and their child Jason Jones; and Jerrica Bottoms and her husband Josh, and their children Jordan Bottoms and Jayden Bottoms, of Arkansas; Elaine Edgar and her husband Scott, and their child; Scott Edgar Jr., of Cape Girardeau, MO; Cindy Bunch and her husband Dennis, and their children; Jewel Bunch, Abby Bunch, and Wil Bunch, of Oxford, MS.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 4, 2013 from 10:00 until service time at Mount Comfort Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville.

Funeral service will be Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Comfort Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville. Interment will follow at Mount Comfort Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her loving grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, it would be Janet’s desire for you to tell someone about Jesus.

Charles King

Charles Thomas King, 67, of Branson, Missouri died Monday, April 29, 2013 at the VA Medical Center.

He served in the US Army.

He is survived by his son, Jeffrey M. King and his wife, Jennifer, of Texas and brother, Bert King and his wife, Glenda, of Missouri.

Gary Dee Gable

Gary Dee Gable of Gravette went home Wednesday, January 7, 2015 to meet his Lord after a valiant fight with cancer. He was born in Claremore Oklahoma, to Olen and Gearldine Wollaston Gable. Gary joined the Army just out of high school, where he began as an infantry man. He worked with nuclear weapons and later became a Mess Sargent. After leaving the military he worked many jobs, including managing a Winchell’s Donut shop. He also barbered for several years, sold used cars, and managed a cattle ranch. Gary most recently volunteered at the Billy V. Hall Senior Center in Gravette for a number of years, delivering Meals on Wheels. He fondly referred to those he served as his “people”, and he treasured the friendships he made at the center and along his route.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Tina Gable, his son and daughter in law, Chris and Christi Gable of Owalla OK, Daughter and son in law, Jeanelle and Brad Harris, Decatur, and his beloved grandchildren, Kenlee, Hudson, Hayes and Hatcher Dee; His sister, Barbara McClure of Inola, OK. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother in law, Virgle McClure, and his Son, Timothy.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 13, 2015 from 1pm until the funeral service time at 2pm Bentonville Church of the Nazarene. Interment will follow the funeral at Bethel Cemetery in Gravette.

Full military honors will be provided by the Northwest Arkansas Honor Guard of Rogers.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Billy V. Hall Senior Center, P.O. Box 1648, Gravette AR 72736 or to the Gary Gable Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home to be decided by the family at a later date.

Antonio Gonzalez Garcia

Antonio Gonzalez Garcia, 81, of Rogers, Arkansas died Wednesday at the Arkansas Veteran’s Home of Fayetteville.

Survivors: his children; Edwardo Garcia (Diana), Jorge Garcia (Mary) of Rogers, Patricia Garcia (Joe Bercik), Elizabeth Garcia (Mike Botter), four grandchildren, and one great-grandson.

Michael Jonathan Phelps

Michael Jonathan Phelps of Rogers died on Monday, January 5, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers. He was born July 8, 1974 in Iowa.

He was employed with Wal-Mart and worked as a fraud prevention specialist. He graduated from Cornell University with his Bachelor’s Degree in English and Music Performance. He loved watching baseball, especially the Milwaukee Brewers and the Northwest Arkansas Naturals. He enjoyed networking and talking to people.

He loved playing and listening to all music, especially the band U2. When he had free time he enjoyed reading fantasy books, and he loved watching Sci-Fi movies and television, particularly Star Wars and Star Trek. Michael particularly loved romancing his wife. He loved sharing his testimony about how he came to know the Lord, and he was a member of Flagstone Church of Christ, which is located in Bentonville.

Michael is survived by: his wife, Elizabeth Phelps, whom he married on July 20, 2014; his parents, Sandy and Roger Phelps, of Madison, Wisconsin; his step-daughter, Olivia Naylor, of Rogers; one sister, Carolyn Phelps, and her husband Richard Chapman, of Madison, Wisconsin; one nephew, Silas Chapman; and one niece, Willie Chapman.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 8, 2015 from 5pm until 7pm at Flagstone Church of Christ in Bentonville, located at 3801 Southwest Eden Brooke Street.

A celebration of his life will be Friday, January 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Flagstone Church of Christ, with Marshall Brown officiating.
