Sybil Marie Waller
(December 6, 1924 - September 13, 2011)

Sybil Marie Waller, 86, of Emerson, Ar. passed away September 13, 2011 in Shreveport after a lengthy illness. She was a lifelong resident of Emerson, Ar. born December 6, 1924 to John Clyde and Sallie Mae (Dismuke) Thomas.

Sybil was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Emerson. Although she was a homemaker, her talents were many. She was an accomplished seamstress and spent countless hours “Hand Quilting” her works of art and family heirlooms. For many years she even found time to babysit for others. She also was a avid gardener and would share her vegetables with family and friends in her community.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dossie D. Waller, daughter, Wanda Murphy, and three sisters, Lilla Mae Thomas, Eugenia Benefield and Fannie Hunter.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Shirley Kelly and husband, Grady, Jr. of Keithville, La. and Rachel Waller of Magnolia, Ar., son, Sherrell Waller of Runaway Bay, Tx., sister, Esther Pipkin of Magnolia, Ar., son in law, Randal Murphy of Warren, Ar., seven grandchildren, Jeff Kelly of Sumter, SC., Vicky Reeves and husband, Mark of Doyline, La., Lisa Kellum and husband, Jason of Banks, Ar., Lynette Murphy of Monroe, La., Damon Waller of Shreveport, La., Derek Waller of St. Petersburg, Fl., Chad Waller of McAlester, Ok., nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Services will be at 2:00pm, Friday, September 16, 2011 at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Randal Murphy officiating and Bro. Karry Easley assisting. Burial will follow at Emerson Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home in Magnolia.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Kelly, Mark Reeves, Derek Waller, Chad Waller, Joe Bussell, and Warner Tribbey.

Visitation will be from 6-8pm Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Judy Ann Baldwin
(December 2, 1958 - September 9, 2011)

Judy Ann Baldwin, 52 of Calion, died Friday, September 9, 2011 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House following a brief illness.

Born December 2, 1958 in Hampton, Arkansas she was the daughter of Charles and Joan McKenzie Pepper. She was a homemaker and a member of Temple Baptist Church of El Dorado.

Preceding her in death along with her mother are brothers, Gregory Leroy Pepper and Frank Curtis Pepper and a sister, Brenda Mae Teague.

Survivors include her husband Gary Baldwin and her father, Charles Pepper both of Calion, a sister, Tina Rae Carroll of El Dorado and two brothers, Randal Hines and Berry Pepper both of Calion. Also surviving are nieces, LaJoy Pepper Owens, April Lynn Taylor and Crystal Jean Darden all of El Dorado and nephews, Jason Pepper and Shannon Pepper both of Ohio and Bryan Teague of Mississippi. Surviving step-children are Amanda McKamie of Rosston, AR, Daniel Baldwin and John Baldwin both of Minden, LA and Shyann Baldwin of Kaplan, LA.

A visitation for friends and family will be held at Temple Baptist Church, 181 Nick Springs Road, Saturday afternoon from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M.

A private Interment will be held at Champagnolle Cemetery at a later date.

Cremation services under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

Alline Lewis
(June 12, 1929 - September 18, 2011)

Alline Lewis, 82, of El Dorado, died Sunday, September 18, 2011 at the Medical Center of South Arkansas following a brief illness. Born June 12, 1929 at Summerfield, LA she was the daughter of John Granville and Lillian Estelle Cubbage Bailey. Alline had worked as a Nurse's Assistant for Hudson Memorial Nursing Home for over twenty years. She was a member of Three Creeks Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death along with her parents were her husband Rolen Lewis, brothers, Billy Bailey, Nomie Bailey, Cortez Bailey, Spot Bailey and Jigs Bailey and sisters, Mary Lois Martin and Minnie Staggs.

Survivors include a daughter Ann Freeman (Joe) of Homer, LA; 2 sons, Gary Lewis (Joellyn) of Homer, LA, Terry Lewis (Kathy) of Three Creeks, AR; sister, Jenny Bonsel of Minden, LA; a grandson, Mark Freeman (Melissa) of Haynesville, LA; 5 granddaughters, Amy Gray (Lonnie) of Minden, LA, April Freeman of Homer, LA, Terra Bovee (Waylon) of Three Creeks, AR, Tiffany Britton (Lance) of Little Rock, AR, Rebecca Holloway (Stewart) of Pineville, LA; 4 great-granddaughters, Katie Freeman, Allie Kate Britton, Emilee Bovee, Alayna Garry; 4 great-grandsons - Peyton Gray, Will Robinson, Noah Britton, Zach Holloway. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, September, 23, 2011 at Bailey Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Stewart Holloway officiating. Interment will follow in New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Jim Bonsel, Buddy Bailey, Danny Cole, Kenny Mark Cole, Donnie Ray Cole, and Dough Cole.

Visitation will be held at Bailey Funeral Home, El Dorado, AR. Thursday evening from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Memorials may be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital, 1 Children's Way, Little Rock, AR 72202-3591.

Catherine Varnell Griffith
(January 18, 1932 - September 18, 2011)

Catherine Varnell Griffith, 79 of El Dorado, died Sunday, September 18, 2011 at Ouachita County Medical Center in Camden following a lengthy illness.

Born January 18, 1932 in Hampton, AR she was the daughter of Roshus Leeroy and Hattie Ramsey Varnell. Mrs. Griffith was a Registered Nurse having graduated from Southern State College in 1972. She was a one time Director of Nursing at Hudson Memorial Nursing Home and had worked in several doctors’ office in the area. She was of the Pentecostal faith.

Preceding her in death along with her parents were a brother, L. T. Varnell and sisters, Beatrice Bolding and Verna Mae Mullins.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, James C. Griffith of El Dorado, two sons, James M. Griffith of Conway, AR and David R. Griffith of El Dorado and a daughter, Connie Edwards of Hot Springs, AR. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Hayley Loecker (Ron) of Denver, CO, Heath Edwards of Hot Springs, AR, Sarah Griffith of Cabot, AR, Allen Griffith of Greenbrier, AR and Brandon Brewster of El Dorado and two great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Griffith and Kaiden Griffith.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 22, 2011 at Bailey Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Jim Bolding officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

The family will be at the David Griffith residence, 1735 E. Cedar.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 6465 South Yale Avenue, Suite 312, Tulsa, OK 74136-7804.

William Hugh Booth
(September 11, 1922 - June 5, 2011)

U.S. Veteran

William Hugh Booth, 88 of Junction City, AR; died on Sunday, June 5, 2011 at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport, LA following a brief illness.

Born on September 11, 1922 in Magnolia, AR; he was the son of Jep and Elvie Baker Booth. Mr. Booth was a retired pipefitter and a former member of Local 706 of El Dorado. He was veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Army and receiving 4 Bronze Stars for participation at Normandy, Northern France, Central Europe and Rhineland. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Magnolia.

Preceding him in death along with his parents was his wife, Eileen Fautheree Booth and a grandson, Jeff Mason.

Survivors are daughters Judy Mason (Danny) of Seminary, MS, Nancy Booth Haynes (Mike) of West Monroe, LA, Barbara Washam (Randy) and Carolyn Enis (Paul) all of Junction City, AR, along with a sister, Christine Baker of Springhill, LA. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, Kenneth Washam (Amy) of Flower Mound, Texas, Kim Mason Barlow of Madison, Mississippi, Jason Washam (Jill) of Maumelle, Arkansas, Sarah Ochs (Jeff) of Junction City, Jeremy Enis (Melissa) of Baton Rouge, LA, Julie Kratzer (Gary) of Midlothian, Virginia, Nick Enis of Junction City and Whitney Reich (Jason) of Ruston, LA, along with 9 great-grandchildren, Tyler Mason, Mason Fuller, Katie Washam, Luke Washam, Daniel Enis, Julia Enis, LeLe Barlow, Annabelle Ochs, and Carly Kratzer.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel in Junction City with Rev. Claude Patterson officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Junction City under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at Bailey Funeral Home in Junction City from 5:00 P. M. to 7:00 P.M. Monday evening.

The family will be at the Paul & Carolyn Enis residence, 320 N. Myrtle St. in Junction City.

Martha Violet Helms
(May 21, 1925 - May 29, 2011)

Funeral services for Martha Violet Anderson Helms, age 86, will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at the Haynesville First Assembly of God Church. Bro. Rodney Gray and Bro. Johnny Hicks will officiate with burial following at Holly Ridge Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Mortuary, Inc. Mrs. Helms passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2011.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at Bailey Funeral Home, Inc. in Haynesville, LA.

Mrs. Helms was born in Siloam Springs, AR on May 21, 1925 to Charles Alfred and Josephine Turner Anderson. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 yrs., Reverand Walter L. Helms, Jr., her parents, her step-father, John Buce, one brother, Clelland “Les” Anderson, two sisters, Margaret Jean Anderson Coleman and Bonnie Anderson Gailey.

Her survivors include one daughter, Carol Lanette Helms Osborne & husband, Patrick; one son, Joe Alfred Helms & wife, Patty; six grandchildren, Tammy Osborne Friloux, Lisa Osborne Adams, Toby Troquille, Shea Marshall, Matthew Helms, and Claire Helms; seventeen great grandchildren; three sister-in-laws and a host of those she considered her own.

Violet Helms was a Minister’s wife, homemaker, Sunday School teacher, and a friend. A true Christian servant to all who knew her and a wonderful Mother and loving Grandmother who will be missed by all.

We, her family, would like to express our joy knowing our Mama has made her final move to her eternal home, which she prepared for all her life.
