Barbara Ann Ragan Adkins

June 2, 1936 - June 20, 2011

Barbara Ann Ragan Adkins, 75 of El Dorado, died Monday, June 20, 2011 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House following a lengthy illness.

Born on June 2, 1936 in Salisbury, NC; she was the daughter of Alfred L. and Nettie Viola Propst Ragan. Barbara was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Lillie, LA. Barbara was loving; compassionate and caring in her work as a home health worker and with her family especially her grandchildren Ragan and Jadan.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Ethel Wilson, a brother Charles Ragan, and her husband Mike Adkins.

Survivors are sons Ronnie Medlin, Jeff Medlin, Tim Medlin, and Jerry Medlin all of Lexington, NC, daughters Sherri Foster of Green Cove Springs, FL. and Brandi Cates of El Dorado, a sister Betty Wilson of Lillie, LA, along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be 10 AM, Thursday, June 23, 2011 at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Phillip Farris and Gary Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 pm to 8 pm at Bailey Funeral Home in Junction City.

A. Desoit Allen

November 23, 1918 - December 29, 2008

A. Desoit Allen, 90, of El Dorado, died Tuesday, December 29, 2008 at the Medical Center of South Arkansas following a lengthy illness.

Born November 23, 1918 in Muncie, Indiana, he was the son of Andrew R. and Ina Zearbaugh Allen. Mr. Allen was a graduate of Ball State University and had received his Masters degree from Southern State University. He was a former chemist for US Rubber in Indianapolis and Cooper Tire, and an instructor at SAU Tech in Camden, AR. He was also a member of First United Methodist Church.

Preceding him in death along with his parents was his wife Doris Allen.

Survivors include a son Dennis Allen (Dianne) of Indianapolis. Surviving grandchildren are Graham Allen, Adrienne Rupert and Colin Allen and a great granddaughter, Trevor Luna Rupert.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, January 3, 2009 in the Chapel of Bailey Funeral Home with Rev. Pam Burle officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial may be made to First United Methodist Church, 201 South Hill Street, El Dorado, AR. 71730.

Lynda Louise Nolan

Lynda Louise Nolan, age 71, of Eldorado went to be with her lord on Wednesday December 26, 2012 at Timberlane Health & Rehab Center. She Was Born on March 9, 1941 in El Dorado to Audrey James and Hazel Viola (Stegall) Harrison.

Lynda was a lifelong resident of Eldorado and was also a lifelong member of East Faulkner Church of Christ. In addition to raising her children, Lynda owned and operated her own beauty salon for many years .She also had a passion for buying, selling, and collecting antiques. Lynda was one of those special people who enjoyed laughing and visiting with people. She loved her family dearly, but she always held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren.

Lynda was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Joan Harrison Flournoy.

Those left to cherish her memory include two sons John Paul and Julie Nolan of El Dorado, Patrick and Randi Nolan of Hot Springs, Ar., one brother, Ronnie Harrison of El Dorado, one sister, Judy and Mike Reynolds of El Dorado, three granddaughters, Madeline Rose Nolan of El Dorado, Mary Catherine Nolan of Hot Springs, Ar., Emma Louise Nolan of Hot Springs, Ar., one grandson, Thatcher Harrison Nolan of Hot Springs, Ar., Numerous nieces, nephews, a host of friends and her loving caregivers at Timberlane Health & Rehab.

Funeral services will be at 2:00pm, Saturday, December 29, 2012 at East Faulkner Church of Christ with Scott Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home in El Dorado, Ar.

Visitation will be Friday evening from 6-8pm at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the East Faulkner Church of Christ at 930 E. Faulkner St., El Dorado, Ar. 71730.

Dale James Yeager

April 1, 1929 - June 23, 2011

Dale J. Yeager, 82 of El Dorado, AR; died on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at Medical Center of South Arkansas following a sudden illness.

Born on April 1, 1929 in Marshall, WI; he was the son of Peter A. and Helen Rose Berchem. Dale was a member of Northwest Baptist Church. He retired after 24 years from Cooper Tire. Dale served in the Army in the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Billy Yeager, a son Wayne Yeager, a daughter Beverly Yeager, and a wife Joyce Berry Yeager.

Survivors are a his wife Shirley Hayden Parker Yeager of El Dorado, AR, a son Randy Yeager of Minden, LA, a daughter Cynthia Walker of El Dorado, AR, stepsons Ronnie Parker of El Dorado and Andy Parker of Marshall, AR, a stepdaughter Alice Tucker of El Dorado, brothers Don Yeager and Floyd Yeager both of Chippewa Falls, WI, Harold Yeager of Waterloo, IA, sisters Beatrice Yeager and Gertrude Perkovich both Eau Claire, WI and Dorothy Johnson of Chicago, IL,along 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 pm, Sunday, June 26, 2011 in the chapel of Bailey Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Tucker officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 5 pm to 8 pm at the funeral home.

J.C. Allen
February 3, 1927 - November 12, 2012

J. C. Allen, age 85 of Magnolia passed away on November 12, 2012 at Magnolia Regional Medical Center. He was born in Taylor, Arkansas on February 3, 1927 to Chester Briant and Jenner Josephine (Wesson) Allen.

J.C. was of the Baptist Faith. He worked as a pipefitter for International Paper and also worked for Southern Arkansas University, City of Magnolia and Columbia County. He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War Era. He was a Mason of the McNeil Lodge. He was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and a friend to all.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Tiney B. Allen of Magnolia, AR.; one daughter, Emily Burnett and husband, Walt of Doddridge, AR; one son, Jeff Allen and wife, Cindy of Texarkana, TX., two stepdaughters, Tena Cains of Magnolia, AR; Lisa Cannon of Taylor,AR;one stepson,Donald Kirkpatrick of Magnolia, AR; five grandchildren, Jacob Allen, Shelley Keith, Cory Cannon, Jeremy Cannon, Ashley Cains; four great grandchildren, four sisters, Nadine Harris of Cotton Valley, LA; Betty Seay of Bethany, LA; Patricia Enis of Cotton Valley, LA, Joyce Turner of Bossier City, LA; one brother, Billy Joe Allen of Plain Dealing, LA. and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Herbert Allen and Odell Allen and one grandson, Michael Kirkpatrick.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6-8pm at Bailey Funeral Home in Magnolia.

Funeral services will be at 2:00pm Wednesday, November 12, 2012 at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Eric Goble officiating and assisted by Walt Burnett. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home in Magnolia.

Bobby Ray Rodgers

October 28, 1935 - October 31, 2011

Bobby Ray Rodgers, 76 of Junction City, died Monday, October 31, 2011 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House following a brief illness.

Born October 28, 1935 in Marion, LA he was the son of Carl and Minnie Ellington Rodgers. Mr. Rodgers had retired after 28 years as a truck driver for ConAgra. He was of the Baptist faith.

Preceding him in death along with his parents were a brother, Ted Rodgers, half-sisters, Gloria Gandy and Claudine Kimble and a half-brother, Carlton Rodgers, Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy Rodgers of Junction City, a son, Keith Rodgers (April Wren), daughters, Teresa Patterson (Steve), Glenda Jackson, Bobbie Young (Lee), Karla Goodwin (Rodney) all of El Dorado, brothers, Billy Rodgers (Jane) of El Dorado, Fred Rodgers (Carol), Henry Rodgers (Debbie) all of Farmerville, LA and Jackie Rodgers (Brenda) of Choudrant, LA and a sister, Clydus Jerry of El Dorado. Surviving grandchildren are Trent Patterson, Tasha Lundy, Brandon Young, Ryan Young, Tabatha Hudson, Tara Jackson, Tanna Jackson, Holden Goodwin, Dawson Goodwin, Brody Goodwin, and Isabella Goodwin along with four great-grandchildren, Gavin Ferrington, Taylan Ferrington, Heather Hudson and Jacob Hudson.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, November 4, 2011 at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dale Shirey and Rev. Clay Hale officiating. Interment will follow in Green Grove Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P. M. to 8:00 P. M. Thursday evening at Bailey Funeral Home in El Dorado.

Memorials may be made to the John R. Williamson Hospice House, 3201 Champagnolle Road, El Dorado, AR 71730.

Bennie Hoil Fife

August 21, 1925 - January 18, 2011

Bennie Hoil Fife, 85 of El Dorado, AR; died on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at the Northeast Louisiana War Veterans Home in Monroe, LA following a lengthy illness.

Born on August 21, 1925 at Moro Bay, AR; he was the son of Ben and Minnie Sisco Fife Shinpock. Bennie was an Army veteran of World War II. He was an active member of the First Assembly of God Church of El Dorado where he was a former commander of the Royal Rangers. Bennie enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting deer and ducks. Bennie loved his family and church; he was a devoted family man and served the Lord faithfully while in good health. He was married to the love of his life Virgie Marie Cary Fife for over 64 years.

Bennie was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Chester, Marvin, and El Ray Fife, sisters Annie Dell Fife and Dorothy Mae Fife, a daughter Charlotte Marie Fife Flournoy, a granddaughter Connie Rochell Flournoy, a step grandson Brian Cameron, and his wife Virgie.

Survivors are a son Bennie Wayne (Judy) Fife of Branson, MO, daughters Sharon (Randy) Gibbons of El Dorado and Elaine (James) Humphries of Felsenthal, a brother Roy Fife of Louann, and a sister Allie Gorman.

Along with grandchildren Rev. Scotty Wayne (Codi) Fife of Longview, TX, Shane Gibbons of Calion Mona (Roy) Murray of Hot Springs, Shawna (Reggie) Ruffin, Keeley (Clint) Evers, Lesley (Jason) McDougal all of El Dorado, a step granddaughter Jeri Lynn Eubanks of Monroe, LA, and 11 great grandchildren, 6 step great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Also surviving are a special son in law and his wife Jimmy (Vicki) Flournoy and their children Lance Flournoy and Kirk (Kristi) Hudson.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Friday, January 21, 2010 at the First Assembly of God Church in El Dorado with Rev. Scotty Fife, Rev. Al Womack and Rev. Clinton Cary officiating. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at Bailey Funeral Home Thursday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to First Assembly of God Churchs Royal Rangers, 2225 West Hillsboro St, El Dorado, AR 71730, Alzheimers Association, Arkansas Chapter, 411 South Victory, Suite 202, Little Rock, Arkansas 72201 or Northeast Louisiana War Veterans Home, 6700 Hwy 165 North, Monroe, LA 71203.
