Lorna Loomis

Lorna M. Loomis, 50, of Oakdale died Friday, Dec. 13, 2002 at Memorial Medical Center, Modesto.

Mrs. Loomis was a native of Bremerton, Washington. She was a LVN at Doctors Medical Center.

She is survived by her husband, Loren Loomis of Oakdale; sons, Loren Loomis Jr. of Germany, Christopher Loomis of Modesto; sister, Carol Fannon of Waterford.

A funeral will be conducted Thursday, Dec. 19 at 10 a.m. at Oakdale Memorial Chapel. Burial at Burwood Cemetery, Escalon. Visitation will be Wednesday, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the chapel.

Remembrances may be sent to American Cancer Society, 1604 Ford Ave., Suite 8, Modesto, CA 95350.

Irene Azevedo

Irene Ghilarducci Azevedo, 89, of Martinez died Sunday, June 23, 2002 at John Muir Medical Center.

She was a native of Oakdale. She resided in Ceres for 37 years and spent the last 20 years in Martinez. Mrs. Azevedo retired from Campbell Soup Company in 1977.

Mrs. Azevedo is survived by her children, Toni Rogers of Modesto and Rudy Azevedo of Oakdale; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Tony J. Azevedo.

Arrangements are being made by Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel in Modesto.

Bruce Donnelly

Bruce Martin Donnelly, 39, of Oakdale died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002 in Oakdale.

Mr. Donnelly was a native and lifelong resident of Oakdale.

He is survived by his mother, Tina Barnes of Oakdale; sister, Jennifer Barnes of Elk Grove; brothers, Ray Dickerson and Jeff Barnes, both of Oakdale.

He was preceded in death by his father James Donnelly.

A graveside service will be conducted on Friday, Aug. 23 at 10 a.m. at Knights Ferry Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

William Irwin, Jr.

William A. "Bill" Irwin, Jr., 81, of Modesto died Friday, Nov. 1, 2002 at Doctors Medical Center, Modesto.

He was a native of Waterford and had lived in the Modesto area all of his life. He was a farmer for over 30 years. He served in the US Army, participating in the New Guinea campaign during W.W.II.

He is survived by his sisters, Patricia Belletto of Oakdale, Mary Pitti of Hughson, Genevieve Bastien of Paso Robles and Elizabeth Johnson of Rancho Cordova; brother, John Irwin of Pennsylvania; and 19 nieces and nephews.

A rosary will be said on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. at Oakdale Memorial Chapel. Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Oakdale Citizens Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, Nov. 6 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the chapel.

Kenneth Peck

Kenneth Clyde Peck, 76, of Oakdale died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003 at his home.

He was a native of El Paso, Texas and had lived in Oakdale for 53 years. He was a machine operator for Hershey Foods for 27 years. He served in the US Army during W.W.II. He belonged to the Lee Avenue Church of Christ, Oakdale.

He is survived by his wife, Arba Dale Peck of Oakdale; children, Vina Conley of Modesto, Nancy Rocha of Empire and Marlene Peck of Oakdale; sister, Ernestine Mello of Sacramento; brother, Malcolm Peck of Dragoon, Ariz.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A funeral was held on Saturday, Feb. 8 at Oakdale Memorial Chapel. Burial followed at Lakewood Memorial Park, Hughson.

Remembrances may be sent to Community Hospice, 601 McHenry Ave., Modesto, CA 95350 or City of Children, P.O. Box 530130, San Diego, CA 92153.

Harriet Davis

Harriet Virginia Johnson Davis, 79, of Oakdale died Tuesday, April 1, 2003 at English Oaks Convalescent Hospital.

She was a native of Madera and had lived in Oakdale for 32 years. She served in the US Navy during WWII. She was also a homemaker.

She belonged to the American Association of University Women, Living Hope Christian Fellowship, Oakdale Ladies Golf Association and volunteered at Gladys Lemmons Senior Center.

She is survived by her children, Sandra Johns of Escalon, Trent Davis, Derek Davis and Gary Davis, all of Oakdale; sister, Cecilia Fitzgerald of Nipomo; brother, Harold Johnson of Vermont; and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, T.L. Davis.

Services were held on Monday, April 7 at Living Hope Christian Fellowship, Oakdale. Burial was on Tuesday, April 8 at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, Santa Nella.

Remembrances may be sent to T.L. Davis Sports Complex, c/o Oakdale Youth Sports Association, P.O. Box 2440, Oakdale, CA 95361.

Carol Fotheringham

Carol Marlene Wyatt Fotheringham, 58, of Sacramento died Tuesday, June 17, 2003 at UC Davis Medical Center.

Mrs. Fotheringham was a native of Sacramento. She lived in Oakdale for 44 years prior to moving to

Sacramento one year ago. She was a waitress at Party Time Caf/ for a year.

She is survived by her son, James Wyatt of Sacramento; sister, Linda Costella of Soquel; stepbrothers,

Kurt Caudill of Riverbank, Craig Caudill of Hillsborough; stepfather, Len J. Caudill of Oakdale.

Services were held on Saturday, June 21 at Oakdale Memorial Chapel. Burial followed at Oaklawn

Memorial Park.

Katherine Cantwell

Katherine Irene Langston Cantwell, 73, of Riverbank died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2003 at Riverbank Nursing Center.

She was a native of Arkansas and had lived in Riverbank for 43 years. She was a laboratory worker at Contadina Foods for 35 years.

She is survived by her husband, Leon R. Cantwell of Riverbank; children, Billy Cantwell of Oakdale, Linda Van Dyke of Oakdale, Brenda Cantwell of Riverbank; sister Marcella Allen of Riverbank; brothers, J.B. Langston of Minnesota and Arthur Langston of Arkansas; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside service was held on Saturday, Aug. 9 at Lakewood Memorial Park, Hughson. Visitation was held.

Remembrances may be sent to Community Hospice, 601 McHenry Ave., Modesto, CA 95350.

Mary Blackmore

Mary K. Blackmore, 74, of Modesto died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2003 at Doctors Medical Center, Modesto.

She was a native of Stockton. She lived in Modesto for 15 years. She co-owned and operated Circle B Fisheries for 23 years.

She is survived by her husband, Bob Blackmore of Modesto; children, Callie Blackmore of Modesto, Brad Blackmore of Oakdale, Jodi Garcia of Stockton; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, Oct. 17 at Oakdale Memorial Chapel, Oakdale. Inurnment will be at Farmington Memorial Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

Remembrances may be sent to a charity of choice.
