D'Amore, Marie

Marie D'Amore, of Dover, and formerly of Jobstown, N.J., died at Green Valley Pavilion Nursing Home, Smyrna, on Tuesday October 21. She was 85.

She was born in Philadelphia, and had been formerly employed as a menswear designer by various firms throughout the Philadelphia region. Mrs. D'Amore retired in 1985, and moved to Delaware earlier this year. She loved animals.

Her husband, Samuel D'Amore, preceded her in death.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Eddie Hoopes, of Dover; two brothers, Phillip Giovannozzi, of Florida; and Matthew Giovannozzi, of Lansdowne, Pa.; a sister, Ella Kozuh, of Dover; and three grandchildren, Robert Brandt, Debra Nelson, and Teresa Brandt.

Graveside services and interment will be held 1:00 PM Thursday October 30 at Sunset Memorial Park, Feasterville, Pa.

Arrangements were by Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, Smyrna.

D'Agostino, Stephen Joseph

Stephen J. D'Agostino, age 89, of Wilmington, DE, died Tuesday, November 23, 2004. Mr. D'Agostino owned and worked in New York as a heating and television repair man for 40 years. He especially enjoyed vacationing in Florida after his retirement.

Mr. D'Agostino is survived by his wife Sharon; a brother Tom Magliochetti; a sister Mary D'Agostino; a niece Mary Williams; and a nephew James D'Agostino. Mr. D'Agostino was preceded in death by his parents Anthony and Gianta D'Agostino; and a brother Dominic D'Agostino.

A service in celebration of Mr. D'Agostino's life will be held Monday, November 29, 2004 at 2:00 PM in the chapel at Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle, DE where friends may call beginning at 1:00 PM.

Jean (Siwik) Dabkowski

Age 84, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2009.

Born in Wilmington on June 14, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Jan and Boleslawa (Czerwinska) Siwik. Jean, a housewife and caterer, was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Joseph Dabkowski. Jean was a long-time member of St. Hedwig's Parish and the Claymore Senior Center. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality. Jean loved spending time with all of her family members and especially enjoyed cooking for all of them.

She is survived by her daughter, Janice Dabkowski, of St. Inigoes, MD; her son, David Dabkowski and his wife, Kathy, of Wilmington; and her four grandchildren, Neil Collins, Samuel Norris, Nicole Dabkowski and Haley Dabkowski. She is also survived by her two ni eces, Maryann Barrett and Irene Skibicki, for whom she was like a mother. She will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, May 30th at St. Hedwig's Church, 408 S. Harrison Street, Wilmington. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Dagg, Graham Byron

HARTLY—Retired Commander Sergeant Major Graham Byron Dagg of Hartly, died Sunday, May 9, 2004 in his home surrounded by his family. He was

He was born on July 18, 1922 in Canada, son of the late Archibald and Margaret (Black) Dagg.

Mr. Dagg retired after a long and honorable career with the United States Army and Army Reserve. He entered the military in 1942 serving until 1945 achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was active in the Delaware National Guard until being discharged in 1981 where he achieved the rank of Commander Sergeant Major.

He was a member of the American Legion, NRA, and AARP.

Mr. Dagg enjoyed woodworking and carpentry. He will always be remembered as a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother Earl Dagg and sisters May Carr and Hilda Donovan.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years Helen Powell Dagg, a daughter and son-in-law Sandra and Robert Ebner of Hartly, a son David Dagg of Hartly and daughter-in-law Kathy Dagg of Greensboro, MD; grandsons Christopher and Stephen Lister of Hartly, granddaughters Sarah, Erica and Colleen Dagg of Greensboro, MD; and a great granddaughter Angela Lister of Hartly.

Friends may call Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 West Camden-Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Burial with full military honors will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.

Mary Ann D'Agostino

of Bear, DE age 70 died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on April 5th, 2004 after a short illness. She goes on to join her husband Daniel and son Daniel Jr.

Mary Ann graduated from Wilmington High School in 1952. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church and St. Gabes Club, where she enjoyed bocce ball and shuffleboard. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her.

Mary Ann is survived by three children, Donna McKeown and her husband Ken of Middletown, Laura Ayers and her husband Dan of Bear, and Michael and his fiancé Katie Fitzpatrick of Elsmere, a sister, Lillian McDowell of Wilm., two cousins Dotti Lawson of Fredric, MD, and Jeanette Carr of Newport, and seven grandchildren, Bill, Amy, Sean, Jill, Brian, Samantha and Elise.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church Dupont Hwy, on April 12th, at 11 am. Friends and family may call at 10am. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Kirkwood Highway.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Delaware Hospice, 3515 Silverside Rd., Wilm, DE 19810.

Dadswell, Bruce E.

Bruce Edgar Dadswell, of Clayton, passed away on Tuesday January 6 at Bayhealth Medical Center, Dover. He was 77.

He was born in Harriston, Ontario, Canada on September 16, 1931. He and his family moved to Clayton, Delaware on June 6, 1964.

He worked for the Town of Clayton and retired in the late 1980's. He was a life member of the Clayton Fire Company #1 Inc., and held the offices of Rescue Captain and Historian, as well as receiving the fireman of the year award in 1968. He was also a fifty-year member of Harriston Masonic Lodge #262.

Bruce enjoyed horse racing and woodworking, and the most important things in life were his wife and family.

He was loved and will be missed by his wife of 50 years, Helen Dadswell; his daughters, Patsy Schiller and husband Richard, of New Castle; and Beverly Whalen and husband Rodney, of Clayton; four grandchildren, Eric Schiller and his wife Jenny; Brittany Whalen; Amy Schiller; and Samantha Whalen; two great-grandchildren, Rylee and Jack Schiller. He is also survived by his twin sister, Beryl Smith and husband Lloyd, of Brussels, Ontario; a sister, Dorothy Fitzsimmons, of Windsor, Ontario; and a brother, Roy Dadswell, of Owen Sound, Ontario, and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to offer special thanks to the staff of ICU at Bayhealth Medical Center, Dover.

Services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday January 10 at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, where friends may call at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Clayton Fire Company #1 Inc., PO Box 1050, Clayton, DE 19938.

Arrangements are by Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Smyrna.
