Jeanne D. (Hueston) Hagerty

Age 60, of Newark, DE passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2006 surrounded by her family.

Born in Chester, PA, Jeanne was the daughter of the late John and Jennie (Doris) Hueston. She graduated from P.S. Dupont High School in 1964. For 31 years, she has worked as a secretary for the City of Newark Building Department. Jeanne also worked part time at Millcroft Nursing Home for the last 15 years.

She will be dearly missed by her daughters and sons-in-law, Jacque and Steve Wilson, and Heather and Jeff Sobolewski, all of Newark. Also surviving are her beloved grandchildren, Jeremy, Sydney and Ryley; her former spouse, Joe Hagerty; and many dear friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 30th between 6 and 8 PM at Mealey Funeral Home, Limestone and Milltown Roads, Wilmington. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday morning at 10:30 AM at St. Margaret of Scotland Church, 230 Executive Drive Suite 8, Newark DE, 19702. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. Margaret of Scotland Building Fund at the address above or to the Ronald McDonald House, 1901 Rockland Road, Wilmington, DE 19803.

MacCord, Geraldine T.

Geraldine "Gerry" T (Taylor) MacCord, 76, of Newark, formerly of Wilmington, passed away peacefully at her residence at Jeanne Jugan Residence on Thursday, May 15, 2003.

Mrs. MacCord was a nurse. She was predeceased by a daughter, Sandra Stewart, and two sons; Timothy and Kevin MacCord. Surviving her are her children, Philip of Texas, Sharon Reusch of Wilmington, Linda Scullion of Newark, Gregory of Middletown, Geraldine Anne Martin of Middletown, David of Claymont, and Jeffrey of Newark; a sister, Olivia Maxwell of Richardson Park; 18 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, 10:30 AM at Jeanne Jugan Residence, 185 Salem Church Road, Newark, where friends may call Sunday evening from 6-8 PM and Monday 9:30 to 10:30. Interment will be at Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 185 Salem Church Road, Newark, DE 19713.

Donald A. Fangman, Sr.

Age 79, of Newark, formerly of Wilmington, DE, passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 17, 2009.

Born in Baltimore, Mr. Fangman was the son of the late August and Mary (Bell) Fangman. He attended Baltimore Polytechnic High School and served his country proudly in the US Air Force. After his discharge from the military, he worked as a radar technician for a civilian contractor and was stationed at some of the strategic radar defense lines of the Cold War. Later, he worked installing and repairing audio/video systems for Delaware Music and Sound on Main Street in Newark and then as owner of Audio Video Systems. He installed educational TV and language labs in many of Delaware's public schools and was involved in the installation of the original sound systems at Dover Downs. Until shortly before his death, he was involved in various outside sales and service positions. Mr. Fangman's hobbies included golf, big band music, crossword puzzles, good food, socializing with friends and tinkering with anything electrical, plumbing or automotive.

He will be dearly missed by his son and daughter-in-law, Donald A., Jr. and Joyce Fangman of Newark; his grandchildren, Chad Reedy and fiancée, Sara McNew of Wilmington, Danielle Fangman and Todd Fangman at home, great grandchild Willow Purcell and his sisters, Claire Mundt of Owings Mills, MD, Barbara Drye and her husband, Berry of Ellicott City, MD, and Jean Prescimone and her husband, Frank of Pasadena, MD and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Edmund and Larry Fangman.

The family wishes to express its sincere appreciation to the physicians and staff of the Wilmington VA Medical Center for their competent and compassionate care and to the Newark Senior Center Meals on Wheels.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 26th at 1:00 PM at the chapel at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear. A celebration of Don's life will be held immediately following the service at the Newark Senior Center.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to: Newark Senior Center Meals on Wheels, 200 White Chapel Drive, Newark, DE 19713.

Francis Joseph Hagerty

Age 61, of Chadds Ford, PA was welcomed by the Lord on Friday, July 2, 2004 after suffering a sudden heart attack at his home.

Francis, first and foremost, was a loving father, husband, son, brother, and uncle. He had great faith in Jesus Christ.

He was raised by his parents, James A. Hagerty and Josephine Black Hagerty, in Wilmington. He graduated from Salesianum School in 1961 and earned his college degree at The Catholic University of America. He was the Managing Director and CEO of American International Insurance Company in Lagos, Nigeria.

Francis is survived by his wife, Ann Giroso Hagerty, his son, Christian Black Hagerty and his fiancée, Celestine Marie Erwin, his "adopted" son, Babatunde Joseph Bankole, his brothers, James Hagerty and Joseph Hagerty of Wilmington, and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, July 6, 2004 at 10 AM at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Church. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Saint Edmond's Academy, 2120 Veale Road, Wilmington, DE 19810-4199.

Gallagher, Henry J. "Reds"

Henry J. "Reds" Gallagher, age 80, of Newark, DE, formerly of New Castle, DE, died on Fri., Oct. 19, 2007. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family.

Henry proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during WWII. He worked for Keebler Corp, Delaware Race Track, and J C. Pownell.

Henry was an avid football fan, and a devoted fan of Notre Dame. He enjoyed trips to Bethany Beach and following college football.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Madeline Gallagher, his sister, Theresa Yacucci, and his brother, James J. Gallagher.

Henry is survived by his wife of 57 years, Palmina R. Tritelli Gallagher. He is also survived by his daughters, Maryann Mangini, and her husband, Bob, of Newark, Karen M. Hermann and her husband, Kevin, of Middletown; his grandchildren, Heather Olson, and her husband, Bryan, of Chesapeake, VA, David Maloney, Kelly Lally, Kristin Maloney, and Melissa Mangini of Newark; Mark Lally, II, and his wife, Jen, of Millsboro; his great-grandchildren, Aaron S. Carter, Jackson R. Maloney, and Evan H. Olson; and his sister, Madeline "Toots" Truitt, of New Castle. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am on Wed., Oct. 24, at Corpus Christi R. C. Church, 901 New Road, Elsmere. Relatives and friends may call at Corpus Christi Church, on Wed., Oct. 24, from 9:30-11:00 am. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery, Newark.

James A. Hagerty, III

Age 33, of Wilmington, DE passed away suddenly at Christiana Hospital on Saturday, April 12, 2008.

Born in Wilmington, Jim was the son of Mary Anna (Havill) and James A.Hagerty, Jr. He attended Salesianum School and graduated from McKean High School. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and later worked as an electrician. A member of the Teamsters Local 326, he worked at Amtrak, the VW Plant at the Port of Wilmington, and the Chrysler Plant, and most recently, Newark Chrysler Jeep. He enjoyed golf and coached soccer at the Kirkwood YMCA. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Josephine and James A. Hagerty, Sr., Jane and John Havill, Sr., and his sister, Wendy Hagerty.

In addition to his parents, he will be dearly missed by his daughter, Elisabeth Ainslee; his son, Ian Patrick Hagerty; his sisters, Megan Manuel and her husband, Jeff, Tina Reynolds, and Mary Alice Richey and her husband, Todd; two nieces and four nephews and his best friend and mother of his children, Michelle (Dalgarn) Hagerty; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends and family are invited to visitation on Thursday, April 17th between 6 and 8 PM at Mealey Funeral Home, Limestone and Milltown Roads, Wilmington. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday morning at 12 noon at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington. Interment will follow at Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Hagerty Children Education Fund care of Wilmington Trust Company, 4899 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808 or at any Wilmington Trust branch.

Habercam, Donald Frank

Donald Frank Habercam of Dover died Sunday, March 3, 2002 in Kent General Hospital, Dover of natural causes. He was 68.

Mr. Habercam was born in Baltimore on October 21, 1933 to the late Robert and Louise Wilson Habercam.

He was a retired truck driver having worked for Dover Leasing. He had also worked as a dispatcher for Robbins Hose Fire Co.

Mr. Habercam was U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

He was a life member of Robbins Hose Fire Company No. 1 and had been a member since 1948. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3238 in Camden, the Camden-Wyoming Moose Lodge #203, and the American Legion Walter L Fox Post 2 in Dover.

There were no known survivors.

Funeral Service will be held at 6PM Friday, March 8, 2002 at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover. Friends may call from 4PM to 6PM on Friday. Interment will be in the Baltimore Cemetery on Saturday, March 9, 2002.

Jackson, Lois

Lois Jackson of Lewes, passed away Monday, March 10, 2008 in Harbor Health Care, Lewes. She was 84.

She was born on May 16, 1923 in Ephrata, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late L. Lester and Vislette Jackson.

Lois was active with the Cape Henlopen Senior Center, Lewes. She enjoyed crafts, tap dancing and playing bingo.

She was known for her infectious smile that could melt your heart.

Lois is survived by her niece Susan Canter and an extended family of caregivers and friends.

A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel of the Stockley Center, Millsboro.

Arrangements are by Pippin Funeral Home, Wyoming.
