JUANITA RUTH FALASCO

WYOMING -- Juanita Ruth Falasco of Wyoming, died Thursday, January 25, 2007 in Green Valley Pavilion, Smyrna. She was 84.

She was born on November 30, 1922 in Clay Morgan, Virginia, daughter of the late Millard and Stella Bowman.

Mrs. Falasco had a special love for children and many years had owned and operated a daycare in her home. She received great joy and pride in watching the many children grow up within the community.

Her many hobbies included collecting owls and following sports. She was especially fond of basketball and enjoyed bowling.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Ralph Falasco.

She is survived by four sons Joseph Falasco and his wife Kathy of Dover, William Falasco and his wife Tammy of Tampa, FL, Robert Falasco and his wife Nancy of Wilmington and James Falasco and his wife Yvonne of Gretna, VA, a brother William Bowman of Lancaster, Ohio, five grandchildren Tina Marie Falasco of Lebanon, Maine, Tony Falasco of Annapolis, MD, Monica Falasco of Dover, William Falasco of Tampa, FL and Douglas Falasco of Dover and three great grandchildren.

Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 West Camden-Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming.

State of Virginia services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Finch Funeral Home, Altavista, VA, where friends may call one hour before services.

Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery, Virginia.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Delaware Chapter of Alzheimer's, 2306 Kirkwood Highway Association, Wilmington, Delaware 19805.

Kane, Joan C.

Joan C. Kane, age 74, of Hockessin, DE, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 8, 2002.

Born in Passaic, NJ, (Miss Baby Passaic 1929) Joan had resided in the Wilmington area for almost 50 years. She was the daughter of the late Lula and Clifford Bancroft and is survived by her devoted husband of 48 years, Robert P. Kane; her daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen M. and Gordon Powell of Newark, Denise J. and Jeffrey Price of Naperville, IL, Luanne M. Kane of Wilmington, Eileen P. and Donald Roberts of Willow Grove, PA, Robin M. Kane and Ron Schneider of Annapolis, MD, Molly E. and Kevin Booe of Chantilly, VA; her sons and daughters-in-law, Colonel Michael C. (USAF) and Terry Kane of Prattville, AL and Kevin P. and Dawn Kane of Wilmington. She has 15 grandchildren who love her very much. She is also survived by her brothers, Neil Bancroft of Boise, ID, Don Bancroft of Riverdale, NJ, and Brian Bancroft of East Windsor, NJ. Joan was preceded in death by her brother, Eugene Bancroft of Pompton Plains, NJ.

Joan retired after 15 years in 1992 where she worked as an executive secretary for the DuPont Company. A wonderful mother and grandmother, Joan loved spending time with her family, sewing for them, traveling to visit, and comforting them through their life’s struggles. She enjoyed music, and for many years was a member of the choir at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Hockessin.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday morning at 11 am at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 7200 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin. Friends may call on Friday evening between 6 PM and 8 PM and on Saturday morning between 9:30 AM and 10:30 AM at the Mealey Funeral Home, Limestone and Milltown Roads, Wilmington. Interment will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Ashland, DE. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the City of St. Jude, Montgomery, AL 36177.

Patrick G. Gagnon

Age 23 of Ft. Stewart, GA, formerly of Wilmington, DE died on November 26, 2002.

Patrick was a Private First Class in the US Army stationed in Ft. Stewart, GA for the past 2 years. He received the Army Commendation Medal for Meritorious performance as an infantryman.

He is survived by his mother, Kathleen R. Gagnon; his father, Michael R. Gagnon; his brothers, Michael Gagnon and his wife, Arina and Alec Gagnon.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian burial on Tuesday, December 3 at 12 noon in St. Patrick’s Church, 14th and King Sts., Wilmington. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.

Florence M. Kandybowski

at the age of 82 went home to live with the Lord on Sunday, January 25, 2004.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Frances and Jack Burns, Brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Lyn Zerbe, brother-in-law, Calvin Clark, sister-in-law, Helen Kandybowski, 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grand children and numerous nieces and nephews.

The viewing will be at 1:00 pm at Mealey Funeral Home, Limestone and Milltown Roads on Thursday, January 29, 2004 with the service to follow. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery, Newark, Delaware.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be sent to Delaware Hospice, 3515 Silverside Road, Wilmington, Delaware, 19810, 302-478-5707.

Fallon, Dorothy R.

Dorothy R. Fallon died peacefully on Wednesday, February 18, 2004. Dorothy was born on November 20, 1913, the daughter of the late Michael and Kathryn Johns. She was preceded in death by her husband on December 31, 2003, John A. Fallon, and two sisters and one brother, Mary Johns, Kathryn Johns (Sr. Carmelita, OSB) and James "Buck" Johns.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Andrew Terzes: her son John M. Fallon; and her brother, Albert C. Johns. She is also survived by her granddaughter Kathryn Terzes, her grandson John M. Fallon, Jr. and wife Katie, and their daughter, Brooke Elizabeth.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice of Georgetown, 600 N. DuPont Hwy. Ste. 107, Georgetown, DE 19947.

Macerato, Matthew Josh

Matthew Josh Macerato, age 18, of Wilmington, DE, was taken from us suddenly on December 26, 2004. Matt is the loving son of Gene & Jayne Macerato; brother of Melissa Macerato Pontones & her husband Manny, Mandy Tonielli & her husband Ernie, Gene Macerato & his fiancée Andrea, Paul Macerato & his wife Lenora, Gina Macerato, and Jessie Macerato; 1 niece and 9 nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2004 at 7:30 pm in the Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Rd., Newark, DE 19702 where friends may visit with the family beginning at 6:00 pm. In lieu of flowers contributions in Matt's memory can be sent to the American Cancer Society, 92 Reads Way, Suite 205, New Castle, DE 19720.

Sophie Gagnon

Age 95 of Wilmington, DE and formerly of Ft. Kent, ME passed away on Friday, April 11, 2003 in the Kentmere Nursing Care Center.

Mrs. Gagnon was a homemaker. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She took great pride and joy in babysitting her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Willie Gagnon in 1988 and by her brother Adrian Fortin.

Mrs. Gagnon is survived by her daughters, Dorothy LeJeune of Topeka, KS, Laurine Lamarre, Doris Underhill both of New Castle, DE; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at St. Ann's Church, Gilpin and N. Union Sts., Wilmington, on Wednesday April 16, at 11:00 am, where friends may call in the church after 10 am. Burial will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Sophie may be sent to Kentmere Nursing Care Center, 1900 Lovering Avenue, Wilmington, DE 19806.

Kaercher, George W

George W. Kaercher, Jr., 67, Bowers Beach, passed away Monday July 30, 2007 at Green Valley Pavilion in Smyrna after a long battle with cancer. He was surrownded by his family as well as his adopted hospice family.

He was born on August 24, 1939 in Beaver Falls, PA to the late George and Gwendolyn Emes Kaercher, Sr.

He was a life member of Bowers Beach Vol. Fire Co. Also, Harrington Moose Lodge, Frederica Senior Center, and Harvest Years Senior Center. George was a U S Navy veteran and servied in the U S Coast Guard Aux. He worked at Easter Shore Concrete in Bear and later for the State of Delaware Department of Transportation, Building and Maintenance Department and retiring in 2001. He enjoyed bowling, dancing, bingo, and his farorite passtime going to the Midway and/or Dover Downs to play the slots. He loved to spend time with "his boy" grandson Brandon with whom he shared a special bond. He also enjoyed his youngest granddaughter Alyssa who enspired him to fight a tough battle so he could see her learn to walk and talk. He is preceded in death by his wife Jacqueline Spayd Kaercher in 2006, brother John Kaercher, grandson, Graig R. Rust

He is survived by Daughter and her husband, Patricia and Johnny Moyer, Jr. of Harrington and Daughter and her husband, Debra and Coleman Morris, Jr. of Frederica, DE. Daughter, Lida Ann Villanueva of Harrington and her former husband, Randy Rust Villanueva of Felton. Daughter and her husband, Shirley and Phillip Pennington, Sr. of Bowers. Sister, Theona Carson of Dover, DE. Grandchildren, John Moyer, III, Kevin Moyer, Coleman Morris, III, Lindsay Osika, Tammy Greene, Tisha Boyd, Tara Geyer, Phil Pennington, Jr., Adam Pennington, Tyler Pennington, Brandon Haggerty, Allyssa Pennington, 11, Great grand children and several nieces and nephews.

Remembrance Services will be held Sat. 08/04/2007 11:00 AM at Trader Funeral Home in Dover, DE Burial will be at the Barratts Chapel Cemetery Frederica, DE

Friends may call Friday 08/03/2007 06:00 PM to 08:00 PM at the Trader Funeral Home in Dover.
