Larry Alan Spaulding
Age 59, beloved son of Myrtle Blair Spaudling and Roy Spaulding, passed away peacefully at the Stockley Center, his home of 53 years, on Monday, January 3, 2011.
Larry was preceded in death by his father and two brothers, Harold and Chester. Larry is survived by his mother, sister (Edie Spaulding Sheridan), brother-in-law (John Sheridan) and devoted nephews (Mark and Larry Sheridan).
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts honoring Larry's life may be sent to Stockley Center, 26351 Patriots Way, Georgetown, DE 19974, Attention: Mr. Tillman.
Donahue, Deanna
Deanna Donahue, of Wilmington, DE, passed away December 6, 2010 after a long and graceful battle with emphysema. She was born January 29, 1938 in Brooklyn, NY to Dorothy and William Greene. She graduated from Pace College, where she met her husband of 50 years, Leonard. After marrying in NY, Dee and Len moved to Delaware, where they raised their three children.
Dee was very active in all of her children's lives, both in and out of school. She could be counted on to coordinate the milk program, tutor students, and help out where needed. In addition, she was always on the sidelines of her children's sports teams, filling the role of team mother and scorekeeper.
Gram never missed a birthday and was always interested in the big and little things that made up her grandchildren's lives.
Dee was an active member of the bowling community, where she held various officer positions in both the women's and junior leagues and ran the junior program at Price Lanes for many years. She positively influenced many of the young bowlers she coached over the years, many of whom referred to her as "mom".
She was a parishioner at St. John the Beloved parish, where she enjoyed volunteering at the annual carnival while her health permitted.
Deanna was predeceased by both of her parents and her husband, Leonard. She is survived by her children: Lisa Manley and her husband Don; Len Donahue and his wife Lori; Linda Messick and her husband Chip; her grandchildren, Doug and his wife Kami; Kyle, Ken, Caitlin, Ryan and Elyse; her brother, William Greene and sister, Dorothy Farr.
Heartfelt thanks goes out to Heartland Hospice and Homewatch Caregivers for their excellent care and compassion. The family is especially grateful to the caregivers who were with Dee for the many months preceding her death and whose friendships she truly cherished.

James P. O'Kane, Jr.
Age 85, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 6, 2010, at Christiana Hospital surrounded by his family.
Born in Wilmington, James was the son of the late Blanche (Biggins) and James P. O'Kane, Sr. He served his country proudly in the US Navy during World War II. He was a graduate of Villanova University and worked throughout his life as a certified public accountant. He was President of Delaware Society of Certified Public Accountants, Villanova Club of DE and US Navy League of DE. He also served on the Board for American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, St Marks High School, Catholic Charities of DE, St Mary of Assumption Council, Governors Economic Advisory Council, Endowment Building and Loan Association and the Wilmington Power Squadron. He was co-founder of the ROMEO Club (Retired Old Men Eating Out), Bill and Ben will miss him. He was also a Boy Scout Leader.
In addition to his parents, James was predeceased his infant son and two sisters, Mary Irons and Kathleen O'Kane. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 62 years, Mary (Farmar) O'Kane; his daughters, Patricia M. Bradley (Eugene) of Wilmington and Kathleen M. Bissot (David) of the Poconos; and his sister, Suzanne Maguire (Charles) of Wilmington, eight grandchildren Dusty, Caroline, Sean, Ryan, Erin, Tara, Jamie and Bethany, as well as 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday morning at St. Mary the Assumption Church, from 9:30-10:45 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 7200 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin at 11 am. Entombment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington.

Harry L. Brand
"H" and Pop Pop
HARRY L. BRAND Age 76 died on 12/5/10 surrounded by loved ones at Christiana Hospital. Harry was predeceased in death by his parents, Charles & Stella Mae Brand. Harry retired from DuPont Photo Products Department in 1985. He was a graduate of Salesianum High School. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy for 4 years. He and his wife, Dee, moved to Florida for 14 years where he worked in security at Innisbrook Golf and Resort before he and his wife moved back to Wilmington.
Harry was an avid Notre Dame football fan and traveled to many of the games. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Christopher Council, Fourth Degree member of Bishop Mardaga Assembly. He was Past Grand Knight of Christopher Council. He was Past President of St. Helena's Athletic Association. He was past trustee of St. Helena's Church for many years. He was past First Vice Commander of Post 173 American Legion, Holiday, Florida and a member of American Legion Stahl Post 30, New Castle, Delaware.
He is survived by his wife Dolores (Dee), of 55 years, as well as his four children Charles Patrick of Sebastian, Fla., Michael and wife Kathy of Prospect, Kentucky, Debbie and husband Franny Simeone of Wilmington, and Kathleen and husband Franny Medori of Newark. Harry also had 10 grandchildren, Kristina, Kimberly, Michael, Marissa, Marc, Krista, Franny, Kelly, Kevin, and Teagan, as well as one great-grandchild, Brody.
The family would like to thank the members of Christiana and Veterans Hospitals, as well as the caregivers from Delaware Hospice and Heartfelt.
Friends may call on Thursday, December 9 from 6 - 8 PM at Mealey Funeral Home at 2509 Limestone Road in Wilmington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church on Clayton Street, Wilmington on December 10 at 10:30 AM. Internment will follow at All Saints Cemetery. Douglas Stephen Prior
Age 58, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 surrounded by his family.
Born in Wilmington, DE, Doug was the son of the late Theresa A. (Jones) and Patrick J. Prior, Sr. He was a Scout Master and attended the University of Delaware. While attending the University of Delaware, his class was the first to be allowed access to a visit to Cuba by the Cuban government while studying anthropology. An Air Force veteran, he served his country proudly during the Vietnam War. He worked in cryptology during his service in the air force and was an Airman First class. He also worked on the Dew line in the Northwest Territories and Alaska doing intelligence work for a private agency for the government of United States and Canada. He had a love for cooking which led him to work as a chef in many area restaurants. In addition to his love of food, he loved literature, music, and traveling. He recently toured with a band from Scotland called "Little Budda", they traveled throughout the East Coast.
He is survived by his brother, Patrick J. Prior, Jr. of Newark; and his sisters, Patricia A. Bacher and her husband, Rudolph of Raleigh, NC, Deborah L. Fitzgerald of Newark, DE, and Margaret T. Prior of Bear, DE; his nieces, Susan Brown, Kathy O'Dougherty, and Theresa Brown; and his nephews, Michael, Stephen, and Robert Bacher and John Brown

Albert Puglisi
Age 87, of Wilmington, DE died at Jeanne Jugan Residence in Newark on Sunday, March 7, 2010. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 11th at 11 a.m. at the Jeanne Jugan Residence, 185 Salem Church Road, Newark, DE 19713 where visitation will be held Wednesday between 4 and 8 pm. Entombment will be at Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Little Sister of the Poor at Jeanne Jugan Residence address.
Zigrida Pudans
Age 87, died Friday, October 29, 2010 at Manor Care, Wilmington, DE.
She was born in Riga, Latvia, daughter of Emma Fravenstein - pianist - and Alfred Fravenstein - diplomat: professor of languages. Zigrida fled Latvia with her mother during the Russian Invasion. Her step father, Dr. August Martinsons (who raised her) was deported to Siberia where he died. Zigrida came to Wilmington with her husband Stanley and infant daughter Astrid through the sponsorship of Franklin Street Methodist Church. She worked as a micro-analytical chemist for 25 years at ICI of Americas. Zigrida loved art, theatric music, and opera. She was an excellent cook and shared her love of fine food with those that entered her life.
She will be deeply missed by her daughters Astrid of Philadelphia, Sandra Dolan and her husband Jim of Wilmington and their daughters, Sara and Emily.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, November 4th at Mealey Funeral Home, 703 N. Broom Street, Wilmington, DE 19805. Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM. Burial will be private at Elka Park, NY.
Dolores Ryan
Age 82, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 surrounded by her family.
Born in Chicago, IL, Mrs. Ryan was the daughter of the late Stanley and Bertha (Kellerman) Morton. For the last 10 years, she worked as a cashier for Kmart. She was predeceased by her husband, Parnell Ryan in 1998 and by her great granddaughter, Skylar, in 2004.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Ron Radle of Wilmington; her grandchildren, Shannon and Stacey Randa; and two great grandchildren, Jackson and Ashleigh.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, March 1st at 1 PM at Mealey Funeral Home, Limestone and Milltown Roads, Wilmington, where friends are invited to visitation after 12 noon. Interment will be private.

Michael J. Feil, Sr. "Mike"
Age 86, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2010 at Wilmington Hospital surrounded by his family.
Born in Philadelphia, Mike was the son of the late Teresa Bridget (Roache) and Herman A. J. Feil, Sr. He graduated from Southeast Catholic High School in Philadelphia. During World War II, he served his country working in Naval Intelligence, stationed in Recife, Brazil. He worked for the Wilmington Trust Company for 37 years, retiring in 1990 as Vice President. He served on the Board of Trustees for Archmere Academy, the Board of Directors of the Committee of 100 (a group interested in community development), and the Parish Council of Holy Rosary Church. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #315 in Philadelphia. Mike was known for his love of family and friends, his deep faith, his passion for golfing, and his wonderful sense of humor. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Herman Jr., Francis and Thomas.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of 58 years, Marion "Ann " (Carroccia) Feil; his sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Jr. and Robin of Wilmington, Robert and Kristine of Dallas, TX and Joseph and Robyn of Wilmington; his grandchildren, Michael and his wife, Christina, Nicholas, Kelly, Robert Jr. and Megan; and three great grandchildren, Morgan, Callie and Paige. Also surviving are his brother, Joseph of Florida and his sister, Mary Mullen of Pennsylvania.
Friends and family are invited to visitation on Friday, February 26th between 6 and 8 pm at Mealey Funeral Home, Limestone and Milltown Roads, Wilmington. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday morning, 10:30 am, at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 2505 Centerville Road, Wilmington. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington.

Kelley E. Mangini
Age 35, of Newark, DE, passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2011 at Christiana Hospital.
She was predeceased by her mother, Joanne (Wagner) Mangini in 2009. She is survived by her father, Joseph M. Mangini of Newark; her paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Mangini of Wilmington; her uncle and aunt, Michael and Rosanna Mangini of Bear; her cousins, Michael and Courtney Mangini; and her great aunt and uncle, Rita and Gregory Sarmousakis of Wilmington.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 13th at 8 PM at Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington, where friends are invited to visitation after 7 PM. Interment will be private.
