Mildred G. Leitch

Age 97, of Ellendale, DE, formerly of Luther Towers, passed away peacefully at the Delaware Hospice Center on Monday, November 8, 2010.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, Mildred was the daughter of the late Joseph and Concetta Marie (Cicale) Galluzzo. Her husband, Gilbert Leitch, predeceased her in 1954.

She is survived by her daughter, Jean D'Amato and her companion Janet Tilger of Ellendale, DE; her sister, Jean Butero of Stanford, CT; her sister-in-law, Jenny Aienello of Stanford, CT; and 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Friends and family are invited to visitation on Monday, November 15th between 8 and 9 AM at Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington. Graveside services will follow at 1 PM at Calvary Cemetery in Queens, NY.

Edward J. Reardon

Age 63, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Wilmington Hospital.

Born in Wilmington, Edward was the son of the late Daniel and Emily (Hill) Reardon. A 1965 graduate of Salesianum School, he served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy. He worked as an accountant for the State of Delaware at the Governor Bacon Health Center. After his retirement from the state, he delivered flowers for Boyd's. He was a member and employee of St. Ann's Church. In addition to his parents, Edward was predeceased by his sisters, Julia Trice and Mabel Reardon; and his brothers, James, Daniel and Paul Reardon.

He will be dearly missed by his wife of 25 years, Johanna (Hawes) Reardon; his daughter, Maureen Reardon; his son, Matthew Reardon; his sister, Jean Celano, all of Wilmington; his brother and sister-in-law, John and Sally Reardon of Dover; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at the Wilmington Hospital ICU and to the 5th Floor Step Down Unit for their compassionate and professional care.

Friends and family are invited to visitation on Sunday, November 14th between 5 and 7 PM at Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday morning at 11:30 AM at St. Ann's Church, Gilpin Avenue and Union Street, Wilmington. Interment will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, DE.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Edward's name to a charity of your choice.

Janet Brown

Age 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 11, 2010 at Windsor Place.

Born in White Haven, PA, on January 2, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Fred E. and Elva L. (Moyer) Williams. She earned her nursing degree from Pennsylvania Hospital in 1946. For over 35 years, she was a registered nurse at Christiana Care and Pennsylvania Hospital. She loved living in Old New Castle where she walked in Battery Park and enjoyed summer concerts. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She also loved to travel.

Janet was predeceased by her husband, Lewis Brown in 1988 and her sons, Lewis Brown, Jr. and Terry Ward. She will be dearly missed by her daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and John Tharan of Wilmington and Barbe and Bill Stecher of Landenberg, PA; her son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Mary Brown of Port Angeles, WA; and her grandchildren John, Jr., Brian, Kristen, Scot and Kristy, Katie and Megan. Also surviving are her sisters, Shirley Feist and Bernice Sullivan.

The family would like to thank the staff at Windsor Place, Christiana Care Emergency and ACE Unit, Compassionate Care Hospice and Dr. Stuart Felzer for their care and comfort.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 17th at 11 AM at Hope Lutheran Church, 230 Christiana Road, New Castle, where friends are invited to visitation after 10 AM. Interment will be at Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to either Compassionate Care Hospice, 702B Kirkwood Hwy., Wilmington, DE 19805 or to the Alzheimer's Association, 100 S. Main St. # 211, Smyrna, DE 19977.

Marie McGlone Murray

Age 88, of Wilmington, DE, formerly of Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 8, 2010 at the Heartland Hospice House surrounded by family and friends.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, Mrs. Murray was the daughter of the late John and Jennie (Kendig) McGlone. She was a graduate of West Catholic High School. A homemaker, she also worked as a part-time secretary for various companies. Her memberships included St. John the Beloved Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister, and an auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary. She loved knitting and was a devoted grandmother. Her husband, Francis P. Murray, predeceased her in 1994.

She will be dearly missed by her sons and daughters-in-law, James F. Murray and Mary Nichols of Carmel, IN, Stephen J. and Joan Murray of Bear, DE, and David F. and Denise Murray of Wilmington; her daughters and son-in-law, Jane and William Wolff of Boston, MA, and Marianne Murray of the Bronx, NY; her grandchildren, Gillian and Callahan Murray; her sister-in-law, Marie Simpson McGlone of Avalon, NJ; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Friends and family are invited to visitation on Wednesday November 10th between 6 and 8 PM at Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington and again on Thursday morning between 10 and 11 AM at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington. Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM at St. John the Beloved Church. Interment will be held on Wednesday, November 17th at 1 PM at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Catholic Relief Service at www.crs.org or at PO Box 17152. Baltimore, MD 21298-8452.

Ferrier, Sr., Louis A.

Louis A. Ferrier, Sr. of Wilmington, age 79 died peacefully at his home on Sunday, March 14, 2010 surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Jean (Toomey) Ferrier whom he shared 54 years of marriage.

Born in Wilmington, Delaware on November 22, 1930, Lou was the son of the late Louis Ferrier and Teresa (Adams ) Ferrier. He served his country in the Army in the Korean War from 1951-1953. He worked at the Delaware Memorial Bridge for 36 years and retired as Superintendent of Tolls in 1992.

Lou enjoyed going to Brandywine Raceway and Delaware Park. He was happiest when surrounded by family. He especially enjoyed family dinners and eating crabs. He was a heart transplant recipient and received the Gift of Life in December, 1995. He will be remembered as a devoted family man spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

Along with his parents, Lou was preceded in death by his 2 sisters Laura Paoletti, and Rose Dunkelberger, and his brother, Michael Ferrier.

He was the patriarch of a family that included his loving and devoted wife Jean (Toomey) Ferrier, 2 sons, Louis A. Ferrier Jr., and his wife Michele, and Michael, both of Wimington, 2 daughters, Noreen Petruccelli of Wilmington, and Ann Marie Records and her husband, Bill, of Newark. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 2 great granddaughters, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday morning at 10:30 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 9th and DuPont St., Wilmington, DE. Burial will follow Mass in Cathedral Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6-8 pm at Mealey Funeral Home, Limestone and Milltown Road.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Second Chance c/o Dick Harbourt, 182 Conover Road, West Windsor, NJ 08550 or to Christiana Care Kidney Transplant Program, Development Office, P.O. Box 1668, Wilmington, DE 19899.

Tricia Ann Stress

Age 36, of Millsboro, DE, died on Friday, April 30, 2010. She was born and raised in Media, PA.

Tricia is survived by her loving mother, Janice Stress; her fiancé, John Marshall; and her devoted children, Tyler, age 8, and Trevor, age 3.

She was a graduate of Penn State University, State College, PA. She will be missed greatly by her loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Memorial Services will take place at St. George's Chapel, 20274 Beaver Dam Road, Harbeson, DE on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 11 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions made in Tricia's memory for the benefit of Tyler and Trevor Stress, c/o Community Bank, 16982 Kings Hwy., Lewes, DE 19958, Attn: Helen Johnson Ray.

Sylvia C. Rodriguez

Age 89, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at Regal Heights Nursing Home.

Mrs. Rodriguez was born in Cuba and was a resident of Wilmington since 2007. Previously, she resided in New York from 1960 through 2007. She was a former member of St. Gabriels in New York. Her husband, Jose R. Rodriguez, predeceased her in 1995.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jose G. and Kathy Rodriguez of Wilmington; and two grandchildren, Paul A. Rodriguez of Allentown, PA and Carol E. Sullivan and her husband, Pat, of Arlington, MA.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff and doctors of Regal Heights.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 1st at 11 AM at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington, DE 19808 where friends are invited to visitation after 10:30 AM. Interment will be held on Friday at St. Raymond Cemetery in the Bronx, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. John the Beloved Church at the address above.

Sara Elizabeth Kelly

Age 70, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, June 15, 2010.

Born in Wilmington, Sara was the daughter of Helen (Skrzec) Mulshenock and the late George Mulshenock. She was a graduate of St. Paul's Commerical School and was a St. Paul's School Alumni. For many years, she worked for GEM Group as a pension administrator until her retirement in 2005. In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her son, Martin J. Kelly in 1994.

Sara will be dearly missed by her husband of 49 years, James R. Kelly; her daughter and son-in-law, Diane and James O'Connor; her sons and daughter-in-law, Christopher D. and Matthew E. and Elizabeth; and her mother, Helen Mulshenock, all of Wilmington. Also surviving are her grandchildren, James, Jr., Sean, Ryan, Patrick, Liam, and Daniel O'Connor and Duncan, Brian, Shannon, Julia, Griffin and Erin Kelly; her sisters, Eleanor Padovani and Anna Nowocin; her brother, George Mulshenock; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 19th at 10 AM at Christ Our King Church, 28th and Madison Streets, Wilmington where friends are invited to visitation after 9 AM. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Delaware Hospice, Inc., 3515 Silverside Road, Wilmington, DE 19810.
