Jarman, Fred B.

Coast Guard

Fred B. Jarman of Felton age 46 died on Saturday January 1, 2011 at Kent General / Bay Health Hospital in Dover, Delaware, surrounded by a loving family after battling a long illness.

He was born on March 2, 1964 in Dover, Delaware to Donald P. and Mildred A. Fox Jarman.

He was a graduated from Dover High School.

He joined the U. S. Cost Guard and served a four year tour on the North Wind.

After his tour he became a butcher and contracted Lyme Disease.

Fred loved traveling when his health would allow him.

He enjoyed spending time with his loving family.

Some of his past times were spent fishing, boating, and camping, and most of all sitting on a beach listening to the waves in Ocean City, Maryland.

He survived by his father and mother of Felton, Delaware; His two sons: Vincent P. Jarman and his wife Heather of Ft. Lewis, Wa.; Levi F. Jarman of Cambridge, Md.; His daughter: Victoria M. Jarman of Cambridge, Md.; His two brothers and their wives; Donald P. Jarman Jr. and Marilyn of Allerton, Iowa; Mark V. Jarman and Melonie of Little Creek, De.; 4 grandchildren, friends and family and was loved by all that knew him.

Let us not forget his loving caring devoted "Pretty Boy Brutus"

Friends may call on Thursday, January 6, 2011 from 10:30 am to 12 noon in the Trader Funeral Home Inc., 12 Lotus St., Dover, De.

Services will be held at 12 noon in the funeral home.

Burial will take place at the Delaware Veteran Memorial Cemetery, Bear, De. At 2 pm.

Houston, Harriet P.

Harriet P. Houston, 71, Newark, passed away Sunday October 31, 2010 at Christinia Medical Center Wilmington.

She was born on September 19, 1939 in Columbus, GA to the late John Pelham and Hilda Macon Wright.

Harriet grew up in the Sylacauga, AL area. She enjoyed playing bridge, collecting miniatures and being with family and friends. She always had a joyous spirit and was a very giving person. The family would like to thank the Cadia Rehabilitation Center and Christinia Hospital MICU for their care to Harriet. She is preceded in death by her husband Lt. Col. John Houston and her son John Michael Houston.

She is survived by her Daughter and her husband, Janet and Eric Nelson of Newark, DE. Father, George Wright of, FL. Brother and his wife, James Ronald and Tonya Pelham of, FL. Sister in Law, Phyllis Maxwell of, OH. cousins, Gladys Weber, Tommy Cole, 5 Nieces & Nephews.

Burial Services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

The family request that memorial contributions be given to American Heart Association 100 West 10th Street Suite 1002 Wilmington, DE 19801 or your favorite charity.

Pizzadili, Givanni Tony

Giovanni Antonio "Tony" Pizzadili, 75, of Felton, passed away Thursday October 28, 2010 in Williamsburg, Virginia with his wife at his side, after celebrating their 28th wedding anniversary.

Tony was born in Pattada, on the Island of Sardinia, Italy, on July 29, 1935.

He was the son of Sabina Porcu Pizzadili and Salvatore Pizzadili both of Pattada, Italy. The family immigarated to America in May of 1956. After emigrating, Tony worked for his uncle at Pizzadili Delicatessen. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1957 were he served for two years and spent an 18 month tour in Korea. Tony also served 10 years in the Army Reserves.

From 1959 to 1968, Tony worked for the State of Delaware Department of Highway. In addition to working full time, he continued to worked at Pizzadili and attended Wesley College to get an Associates of Arts Degree. Ultimately, Tony achieved a Bachelors of Science degree in Mathematic from Delaware State College in June 1969. Tony and his brother Pete became the sole proprietors of Pizzadili Delicatessen that same year.

Along with several other businesses, Tony and Pete had two stands at the Delaware State Fair and celebrated their 50th anniversary this past year. In one of his most proudest moments, Tony and Pete opened the first Winery in Kent County, the second in the state of Delaware.

Tony was an avid reader. He loved history and books. He was very proud of this country to have served it and to have lived the American Dream. He was devoted husband, a loving father, and a loyal brother. he served the public for 54 years.

He is survived by wife, Kathleen V. Pizzadili of 28 years two daughters Antonia Maria Pizzadili, and Giovanna Adriana Pizzadili of Felton, his dearest brother and best friend Pete and his wife Jean Pizzadili Felton, two nieces, Wendy Pizzadili and Angela Pizzadili Felton, a sister, Maria Antonia Cambarau and her husband Alfredo Cambarau of Italy, a nephew, Salvatore Cambarau one niece, Paola Cambarau and a great nephew, Nicola Cambarau all of Italy .

Family and friends can pay their respects at Holy Cross Church between the 9 am and 11:15 am on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:30 am in the church and burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Dover.

The family suggest donations be given to Delaware Disabled Veterans and Delaware Veterans Hospital in Milford, Delaware.

Liswell, Jeffrey E.

Jeffrey E. Liswell, 59, of Carriage Lane, Dover, passed away Thursday October 28, 2010 at his home with family.

He was born on January 24, 1951 in Baltimore, MD to the late Albert and Christiane Tichon Liswell. From Baltimore, MD originally he moved to Dover 17 years ago.

He was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Dover. Jeff was in the banking industry for many years and was at the PNC Rehoboth Branch after 5 years. Jeff enjoyed cooking, hosting parties, singing and music. He touched many hearts and will be missed.

He is survived by his Daughter, Juleeann T. Liswell, two brothers and their wives, Bernie and Yvonne Liswell, Marc and Lynne Liswell.

Memorial Services will be held Tuesday 11/02/2010 1PM at Grace Presbyterian Church in Dover, DE with Rick Barr officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Farver Heller, Mary Ellen

Mary Ellen Farver Heller, 76, Dover, passed away Wednesday January 19, 2011 at her home with family.

She was born on December 10, 1934 in Berwick, PA to the late Arwillis Whitey Farver and Geraldine Bloom Andreas. She was the step daughter of Kale Andreas, Sr. who along with her mother raised her since her father a paratrooper in W W I I was killed on D day (invasion of Normandy) in 1944. She was the wife of the late Darwin (Dar) Heller for 38 1/2 years until he passed away in 1990. She was a great grandmother of a great grandson Joshua Kobus who also passed away in 1990.

She is survived by her two children, Gary Heller and his wife Linda of Dover, DE., Carol Heller Banks of Camden, DE., 7 grandchildren, Lisa Shaw, Carrie Kobus, Shannon Shehorn, Jessica Guzzie, Shawn Heller, Austin Heller, Garrett Heller. Eleven Great grandchildren and one great great grandson, and a Mom-Mom to many children who adopted her and she loved them all and enjoyed all her family. Her fonded memories are of times traveling with her late husband, family and friends in their motor home. Especially to NASCAR race tracks and attending the races. She enjoyed all sports especially football. Her hobbies where reading, playing cards, crossword puzzles, sudoku, crocheting and especially babysitting her grandsons Jeremy and Jacob and enjoying all her grandchildren. Other survivors are her sister Kay and Ernest Normandin, brothers Kale and Theresa Andreas, Jr. and Karl and Rose Andreas all of Berwick, PA Many neices, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church. She had many friends her closest friends where Noreen Leadbelter and Viola Steele.

Remembrance Services will be held Monday 01/24/2011 1PM at Trader Funeral Home in Dover, DE Burial will be at the Sharon Hill Memorial Park Dover, DE

Friends may also call Monday from 11 AM till time of the service at the Trader Funeral Home in Dover.

The family request that memorial contributions be given to Trader Funeral Home 12 Lotus Street Dover, DE to help with funeral cost.

Taylor, Jr., Wallace "Bill" William

Army

Wallace "Bill" William Taylor, Jr., 86, Dover, passed away Saturday October 30, 2010 at KGH Bay Health Dover.

He was born on November 28, 1923 in Winsted, CT to the late Wallace and Estelle Davis Taylor, Sr.

He graduated from Gilbert School and later received degrees from Emory University and the University of Georgia. During W W I I he served for almost the full duration of the war in the U. S. Army, in the European Theatre of Operations. During that time he was badly wounded in the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Taylor spent most of his professional career in the field of education. He worked as Dean of Students and Assistant to the President at the State University of New York, College at Cortland. Among his non-professional interests, he served as councilman in Bowling Green, OH, and later held the position of trustee in Homer, NY. Being interested in historic preservation, he was a member and president of the Cortland County Historical Society. Mr. Taylor was a member and life-long supporter of Delta Tau Delta fraternity. For his contributions to the organization, he was honored to be initiated into the Arch Chapter. Mr. Taylor also had many hobbies including model ship-building, oil painting, porcelain repair, jewelry designing, growing prize-winning roses, and collecting antiques.

He is survived by his Wife, Carol Lenz Taylor, his Son and his wife, Mark and Jodi Taylor Grandchildren, Casey and Geoffrey Taylor, Six, Nieces & Nephews.

Memorial Services will be held Friday 11/05/2010 11:30 AM at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Smyrna, DE Burial will be at the Christ Church Yard Dover, DE at 1:30 PM

The family request that memorial contributions be given to St. Peter's Episcopal Church Smyrna, DE and or The Salvation Army.
