Hitchens, Thurman Leroy

Thurman Leroy Hitchens age 80, passed away on January 4, 2011. Thurman retired from Perdue Farms. He was a Korean War Veteran, he was awarded the UN Service Medal, and 3 Bronze Stars. He is preceded in death by his Parents, Joshua & Mary E. Harmon Hitchens Sr., his son, Larry Johnson, and his grandson, Shariff Johnson. He is survived by his sister Louise Adkins, of Millsboro, Delaware, a special Niece, Tambra Stewart, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Watson Funeral Home, 211 South Washington Street Millsboro, Delaware were friends may call from 12:30 - 1:30. Rev. Sam Dennis will officiate. Interment will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, at 2:00 PM. Arrangements by, Watson Funeral Home, Millsboro, Delaware.

Izbiansky, Stephen John

Stephen John Izbiansky age 59, of Millsboro, Delaware passed away on November 3, 2010 at home. Stephen was a retired purchasing agent. Stephen is the son of the late John & Betty Louise Bock Izbiansky. He is survived by his daughters; Melissa Hamrick and husband Seth of Parkesburg, Pa, and Michele Izbiansky of Coatesville, Pa. two brothers, David Allen Izbiansky and wife Susan of Agawam, Massachusetts, and Kenneth Wayne Izbiansky of Bear, Delaware, 4 grandchildren, Ashley, Christopher, Maya, and Michael. Services and burial will be private.

Hovington Sr., Knowles Henry

Knowles Henry Hovington, Sr., of Millsboro, Son of the late George Hovington and Edith White-Hovington born on November 27, 1924 departed this life on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at Atlantic Shores Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. He was 85.

Mr. Hovington served his country as a United States Army Soldier in WWII.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel and daughter Connie Ellis.

He leaves to cherish his memories; two sisters, Edith Bethel and Frances Crawford of Dover, one brother-in-law, Francis Bethel of Dover, three Daughters, Madge Knox (Manuel) of Willingboro, NJ, Carol Dennis (Samuel) of Millsboro, Mabel Warren (Gary Sr.) of Milford.

20 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren and 1great great grandchild; and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at Dickerson Chapel AME Church Rt. 113 Millsboro, Delaware on Wednesday, November 3, 2010, at 1:00 PM, where friends may call from 11:00 - 1:00. Elder Hayward Bailey will officiate.

Interment will be in Old Field Cemetery, Millsboro, Delaware.

Arrangements by Watson Funeral Home Millsboro, Delaware.

Kahler, Donna Drexel

The Funeral Service for Donna Drexel Kahler, otherwise known as" Momma Donna" by many, 75 of Georgetown, Delaware will be held at 5 PM Saturday, December 4, 2010 at Calvary Baptist Church Rt. 113 Georgetown, Delaware where a viewing will be held 1 hr. prior.

Rev. Richard Blades will officiate.

Burial will be held in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, Delaware on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 10:00 AM.

Donna passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, Delaware.

Donna Drexel was born November 20, 1935 in West Chester, Pa, the daughter of Robert and Charlotte (Moore) Drexel Sr.

Donna married Bruce Carl Kahler on July 31, 1954 in Elkton, Md.

Donna worked for Delaware Power and Light for some time before she and Bruce opened their own appliance repair business in Newark, De, where they resided until October 1982 before selling their house and moving into a mobile home in Maple Square Trailer Park.

They then moved their mobile home downstate to where it is currently, outside of Georgetown, where she and Bruce lived out the rest of their lives.

Donna lived her life fully for the Lord as a servant to others.

She faithfully attended Calvary Baptist Church in Georgetown.

She actively participated in many church groups and functions.

She loved to crochet and give her little masterpieces away.

Anyone that got to know our mother was truly blessed.

Donna is survived by her 4 children, Bruce (Diane) Kahler of Georgetown, DE, Shelley (Greg) Roark of Townsend, DE, Beth (Dennis) Dockter of Pollock, SD and Jeff Kahler of Bear, DE: her foster daughter, Sally (Lonnie) Haines of Milford, DE; her 16 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren.

She is also survived by her 2 brothers Robert (Penny) Drexel Jr. of Harrisburg, PA and Richard Drexel of Bruce, WI; 1 sister-in-law Susan (Mike) Bashian of York, PA and 1 brother-in-law Jack (Helen) Kahler of New Llano, LA; followed by many nieces, and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Bruce Carl Kahler.

Workman, Verna Mae

Verna Mae Workman, age 91, of Georgetown, Delaware passed away on December 2, 2010 at Atlantic Shores Nursing and Rehabilitations in Millsboro.

In years past, she had been an active member of Mt. Olivet Brethren Church in Georgetown, Delaware.

She also was a member of the Women's Missionary Society, and Delaware Extension Homemakers Club.

Along with her husband Dale she helped run Workman's Store.

She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed Crocheting, and made afghans for children and her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her Parents; Levin A. & Susie Friedel Williams and her husband of 70 years, Dale Workman who passed away on June 1, 2007.

She is survived by her children; Rosalie S. Brewington, of Georgetown, Delaware, Joyce A. Harrell of Georgetown, Delaware, Janice LaPrad and husband John of Georgetown, Delaware, and Karen W. Mumford and husband Stephen, of Millsboro, Delaware, 1 brother Levin A. Williams Jr. of Seaford, Delaware, 1 sister Sturgis M. Lowe also of Seaford, 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 6, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington Street Millsboro, Delaware where friends may call 1 hr. prior.

Pastor Jerry Fike will officiate.

In lieu of flowers the family request contributions be made to Mt. Olivet Brethren Church, 28096 Shortly Road, Georgetown, Delaware.

Interment will be in Millsboro, Cemetery, Millsboro, Delaware.

Sentman, Audrey Carol

Audrey Carol Sentman, 27, of Georgetown, DE (formerly of Quakertown, PA) passed away suddenly on December 15, 2010 at the Dorchester General Hospital in Easton, MD.

Born, Nov. 3, 1983, the daughter of the late John S. Sentman, and Carol A. Sentman Widen.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Quakertown.

Audrey, beloved daughter, sister, friend was a student of Southern Lehigh Middle School prior to relocating to Georgetown, nine years ago, where she continued her education and worked part time retail sales and fast food.

She excelled in fine art, poetry and short stories.

Her early work can be found in THE DRAGON'S TALE, a Southern Lehigh Middle School publication.

Family and friends, together, have a collection of her cartoons, portraits, and highly detailed drawings and paintings.

She designed her own tattoos, each with a spiritual meaning.

She enjoyed running and Oct 3, 2010 placed first in her age group in the "making strides for breast cancer" 5K run, she also donated her hair for "locks of love."

A member of N.A., her artwork was used this past September, for the Narcotics Anonymous Convention in Ocean City, MD.

All these things, with her own sense of style and nonconformist sense of humor created a unique and beautiful woman who will truly be missed by the many who had grown to love her.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by step-father "Mike" Carl E. Widen, her fiancé, Shawn A. Clark. brother Tyler J. Sentman, and sister Kaycee Widen, all of Georgetown.

Maternal grandparents: William R. and Nancy Fischer of Quakertown, PA. Grandparents Evelyn and Eric Widen.

Also survived by 2 nieces: Kailey and Amina, and many extended family members and friends.

She leaves her special childhood friend, Litzie and her beloved canine friend "Clarisse."

A Celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM on December 29th, 2010 at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St. Millsboro, DE, where friends may call from 5 PM until 7:00 PM.

The Reverand Gary Scott will officiate.

Interment will be private. In Lieu of Flowers, family suggest memorial contributions, made to a charity of one's choice.
