McCray, Mabel E.

Mabel Elizabeth McCray age 92, of Millsboro, Delaware passed away on November 24, 2010 at Atlantic Shores Nursing and Rehabilitation, in Millsboro, Delaware. She was born January 4, 1918 in Frankford, Delaware to the late Margaret McCray Baylis and Harvey Tyre. She was raised by her aunt the late Williamenia McCray Fasset.

Mabel received her education in the Frankford Elementary School and Delaware State College. After College, Mabel moved to Philadelphia and later to California where she resided for many years. She retired from the US Postal Service.

Mabel was very active in the Church. She worked with the youth in Delaware, Pennsylvania, and California. She received her credentials in Dramatics of Religion from the National Band of Churches in Tennessee. She was a member of the Young Women's Christian Association, and director of the Woodlawn Center in California. She was also a member of the Centrex Toast Mistresses, and served as the President of the Organization for several years. After retiring from her job, Mabel returned to Delaware to care for her Mother and sister, Marie Ingram. She later reunited with Antioch Church.

Mabel leaves to cherish her memories a host of cousins and friends.

A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at Watson Funeral Home, 211 Washington St. Millsboro, Delaware from 11:30 - 12:30. A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 PM at Dickerson Chapel Church Cemetery (Old Field) Rt 24 Millsboro, Delaware. Arrangements by, Watson Funeral Home Millsboro, Delaware.

Krauss, William Bill

William "Bill" Krauss age 41, of Millsboro, Delaware passed away on November 28, 2010 at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes, Delaware. Bill was a huge Eagles Fan, and loved to shoot pool. "He was a Great Guy". He is preceded in death by his brother, Paul R. Krauss Jr. in 2007. He is survived by his Father Paul R.Krauss Sr.and his Mother Eileen Krauss both of Millsboro, Delaware, a brother, Christopher Krauss of Millsboro, De, sister Lisa Dickson and husband Tracy, of Bridgeville, De and a sister-in-law Karen Wood Krauss of Georgetown, De. A special friend, Linda Andrews, several nieces, nephews and extended family and his canine friend Roxie also survive him. Services will be Private.

Guerra, Anthony J.

Anthony J. Guerra age 93, of Lewes, Delaware passed away on December 26, 2010 at Renaissance Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Millsboro, Delaware.

A Chapel Service will be held at Fort Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood Maryland, on December 30, 2010 at 11:00 AM.

Aeckerle, James J.

James J. Aeckerle, age 92 of Lewes, Delaware passed away on November 27, 2010 at Harrison House Nursing and Rehabilitation in Georgetown, Delaware.

James retired from the City of Philadelphia in the Streets Department.

His parents precede him in death: Frederick and Alice Dougherty Aeckerle and his wife Margaret Ross Aeckerle.

He is survived by his daughters, Maureen Bream and Husband Robert of Lewes, Delaware, and Margaret Mary Aeckerle of Jackson, Wyoming, 4 grandchildren, Pedar D. Enger, Catherine M . Davis, Kristin Bream, and Jeff Bream.

A Committal Service will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2010, at 11:00 AM at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro, Delaware.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to any Veterans Organization.

Arrangements by Watson Funeral Home Millsboro, Delaware.

Robbins, James C.

James C. Robbins, 62, of Millsboro passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Christmas Day, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford.

Born in Ohio on September 17, 1948, he was raised in Milford, OH and was the son of the late Eileen and Carl Schmid.

He was a veteran of the US Air Force and was a retired maintenance mechanic, retired from Barcroft Company in Lewes after 36 years of service.

He loved the beach, fishing, traveling with his wife and children, especially to amusement parks where he could ride the fastest and biggest roller coasters.

He loved working in the yard, and watching Fox News.

He was also a member of the NRA and Sussex Sportsman Club.

He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Jill Pedano Robbins, and sons Zachary and Matthew Jenney, of whom he was very proud.

He is also survived by his Mother-in-law, Sandra Glaser, and her husband Robert; Father-in-law Robert Pedano and partner Bill McFarland, and sisters-in-law Dawn Hall, and her husband Chuck and Lori Lane, and her husband Randy; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded by a sister, Patricia.

Two other survivors are his beloved canine friends: Max and Chico.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 30th, 2010 at 6:00 PM at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St. Millsboro, DE, where friends may call one hour prior for visitation.

The Rev. Robert Hudson will officiate.

Interment will be private.

In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to either the Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriot Lane, Milford, DE 19963 or to the Tunnell Cancer Center, 424 Savannah Road, Lewes, DE 19958.

Piper, Ardith B.

Mrs. Ardith B. Piper, 68, of Ellendale died Friday, January 7, 2011 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 29, 1942 in Wilmington, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Dorothy Collard Wheeler. She was a retired home health care worker. She loved and lived her life fully, and was devoted to her family and was truly a friend to all who knew her. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Georgetown. She is survived by her husband, David H. Piper and her daughters: Valerie Gould-Matthews, and her husband Tommy, of Ellendale and Paula Casey, and her husband, Patrick, of Dover; Michelle Piper-Afriyie, and her husband Jeff, of Dover; and Nicole Piper, of Dover. She is also survived by 14 grand-children, 17 great-grand-children, and a numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family along with her special friend, Arlene Porter of Milford, and devoted nephew, Frederick Cooper, Jr. of Parkesburg, PA. She was preceded by a sister, Claudette Cooper in 1992, and two sons: Donald Wheeler, and Bruce Kersey, and a niece: Lisa Cooper. She is also survived by her beloved canine friend, "Scooby." "Special Thanks" are extended to her grand-daughter Rosheda, and grand-son Thomas who cared for her so wonderfully during her final illness A memorial service will be held at 2 PM Saturday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 22300 Georgetown Lewes Hwy., Georgetown, DE. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial contributions to Kingdom Hall in Ardith's memory.

Steele, Tony

Tony Steele, age 51, of Georgetown, DE, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2011. For 18 years, Tony worked at George and Lynch as a heavy equipment operator before launching his own business of eight years, TLC Transit Services, LLC. As a school bus contractor and driver, Tony thoroughly enjoyed his sporting event runs where he could cheer on his "kids" to victory and feed his love of Sussex Central baseball, softball, football, and wrestling. Tony had spent many years on ball fields as a player and as his son's coach, but it was his love and knowledge of racing that has most impacted his son who follows in his footsteps.

Along with his love for sports, Tony dearly loved to travel with his friends and family, from as close to Lancaster, PA to an Alaskan cruise! However, he equally loved his own backyard, the woods, where he could take long, peaceful rides in his camouflaged buggy, hunting for that big buck with his son and his son's fiancée. Tinkering in his shop on his tractor also kept him busy and his mechanical skills kept many of his family's and friends' cars on the road. As of late, Tony looked forward to his morning coffee run with his beloved Chihuahua, Callie.

Tony is survived by his wife of 30 years, Lisa and their son, Colby and fiancée Stacey Gardner, of Georgetown; his parents, Josephine and Elmer Massey; brothers Allan Schirmer and wife Nancy and Mike Steele and wife Lori; and his in-laws, Floyd and Gail Megee, all of Georgetown. In addition, he is survived by a great many nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in-law, and friends.

The viewing will be held on Saturday, January 15 at 11:30, and followed by the funeral service at 2:30 P.M. at Watson Funeral Home 211 S. Washington Street Millsboro, Delaware. Interment will be at St. John's United Methodist Church in Georgetown.

Hylinski Jr, Joseph A

Joseph A. Hylinski Jr., age 74 of Georgetown, Delaware passed away on December 13, 2010 at Delaware Hospice Center, Milford, Delaware. Joseph was a member of St. Michaels Roman Catholic Church in Georgetown, Delaware where he was a greeter for many years. He operated a small walnut business, and loved cub cadet tractors. He never met a stranger or anyone he did not like. Joseph is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph A. & Tessie Kielbasa Hylinski Sr. He is survived by his brother, Donald P. Hylinski and wife Fran of Middletown, De., sisters, Pat L Ferrier and husband Bob, of Milford, De. and Marty Laroche and husband Ted, of Frederica, Delaware, nieces and nephews, Kevin Ferrier and wife Jessie, Karen Donovan and husband Robert, Ashley Monroe and husband Paul, Elise McCabe, Heather Baksh and husband Cliff, and Brant Hylinski, and several great nieces and great nephews and special friends Bob and Barbara Gaines. His favorite Vice President, Joe Biden and favorite Senator Tom Carper whom he considered his buddies also survive him. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at 10:00 AM at St. Michaels Roman Catholic Church in Georgetown, Delaware where a visitation will be held from 9:30 - 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Union Cemetery Georgetown, Delaware. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice 100 Patriots Way Milford, Delaware 19963. Arrangements by Watson Funeral Home, Millsboro, Delaware.

Lingo, Ruth Clements

Ruth Clements Lingo, age 81, of Millsboro died on Sunday, Dec. 12 at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Milford, De on Sept. 14, 1929, she was the daughter of the late David Alday and Laura Virginia Clements. She was a graduate of Milford High School and a 1951 graduate of the University of Delaware where she earned a degree in physical education. Ruth was employed by the Indian River School District for 30 years, 8 as a physical education teacher, and 22 as a Kindergarten teacher at East Georgetown Elementary. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School and was a member of the Grace United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Red Hat Mamas, Millsboro Charter Club. She participated in First Stater's DE Senior Olympics Volleyball, loved dancing and shopping, and was devoted to her family. She is survived by her husband, Raymond "Dee" Lingo, whom she married in 1955 at Barratt's Chapel, and has shared 56 years. She is also survived by five sons: Ted Lingo, and Ray Lingo, both of Millsboro; Jim Lingo and his wife Carolyn, of Milford; Jay Lingo and his wife, Kathy, of Milford; and Joe Lingo, and his wife Terri, of Lewes. Two sisters: Margaret Ann Jones, of Milford; and Ethel Mayhew, and her husband Skip, of Bear, DE. Ten grandchildren: Michelle, Danielle, Jordan, Connor, Morgan, Sara, Courtney, Emily, Brady, and Molly. She is also survived by many extended family members and special friends. She was preceded in death by a sister: Kitty Williams, and four brothers: David, Bernie, Charles, and James Clements. She was also preceded by a granddaughter: Megan. Friends may call on Wednesday evening, Dec. 15 from 5-7 PM at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 16 at 1:00 PM, at Grace United Methodist Church, at Church and Morris Streets in Millsboro. Friends may also call one-hour prior at the Church. The Rev. Ed Kuhling will officiate. Interment will follow at Millsboro Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to either the FMC Mid-Sussex Dialysis Center; 34 Georgetown Plaza; Georgetown, DE 19947; or to the Delaware Hospice Center; 100 Patriot Lane; Milford, DE 19963
