Teresa L. Clark, 46

HARRINGTON - Teresa L. Clark, of Harrington, died Thursday, May 22, 2008, at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was 46.

She was born in Milford to the late Odes Collins and Thelma Tatman.

Mrs. Clark's main purpose in life was taking care of her family and raising her children.

She had various part-time jobs over the years, including working at Bobola Farms and Loblolly Acres, to get out and meet people.

She enjoyed planting flowers at her home, vegetable gardening, painting and spending time with the children in the pool.

Mrs. Clark also loved watching movies with the children and visiting Killens Pond State Park with her family.

She will be well remembered by her family and friends as a kind and considerate woman.

Mrs. Clark helped anyone that she could, would give one the shirt off her back and got along with everyone.

She was a hard worker in life and instilled these traits into her children.

Mrs. Clark was the guiding force behind her children and all their accomplishments and in their schooling. She was the best mother her children could have hoped for and no matter what, she was always there for them.

To her husband, she was the pillar of the family and is simply irreplaceable. She was deeply loved and will be deeply missed.

Mrs. Clark is survived by her loving husband of 18 years, Homer Clark Jr. of Harrington; son, Aaron H. Clark of Harrington; daughter, Sarah E. Clark of Harrington; brothers and sisters-in-law, Irving and Kathy Tatman of Felton, Odes Lee and Pam Tatman of Felton, Roger and Kathy Tatman of Hartly and Richard and Barbie Tatman of Harrington; sister, Shirley Tatman and her fianc? Terry Mitchell of Harrington; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and beloved pets, Pop Pop and Barney.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 S. Dupont Highway, Harrington, where friends may call one hour prior.

Interment will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.

Arrangements are by the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, DE 19952.

DeGraw, Ann Marie

Ann Marie DeGraw, age 70, of Newark DE, went home to be with the Lord on May 24, 2008. Ann loved serving the Lord and attended New Life Alliance Church. She enjoyed bible study, reading, traveling, visiting the beach, attending fairs and was very fond of animals; Ann bred Miniature Schnauzers and enjoyed visiting dog shows.

Ann is survived by 3 daughters, Kathleen D. Jones, Vickie Logue and her husband Ralph, Sandra Fader and her husband Jeff; a son, Jack S. Hilsinger. Ann is preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Mabin. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Bryan Mabin; 12 grandchildren: Fran, Carissa & Jackie, who at one time all lived with Ann, John B., Matt, Theand, John P., Valerie, David, Josh, Alexis and Deme, and 9 great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 in the Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Rd., Newark, DE 19702 from 10 to 11 am followed by a service celebrating Ann's Life at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park.

Acevedo, Gilbert

Gilbert Acevedo, age 85, of Wilmington, DE, also know as "Mr. Gilbert" went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 22, 2008. Mr. Gilbert was born in Arecibo, PR and migrated to New York City with his brother, Miguel, before moving to Delaware. Mr. Gilbert was the founder and owner of 3 stores, Gilbert's Grocery, for 40 years, until his retirement. His kind heart allowed him to meet and know the people in the communities that he worked.

Mr. Gilbert is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Theresa; sons, Gilbert Acevedo & wife, Miriam, and Robert Acevedo; daughters; Nancy Hubbard & husband, Alan, and Patricia Acevedo; grandchildren: Melissa, Brianna, Robert, Theresa, Elizabeth, Gilbert, Melinda. He was preceded in death by his parents, Miguel & Mercedes Acevedo.

A visitation for family & friends will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, 1010 West 4th St., Wilmington, DE from 9:30-11 am followed with a Mass of Christian burial at 11 am. Burial will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Heartland Hospice, 5661 Ochletree Lane, Wilmington, DE 19808.

Robert J. Corkell Sr., 75

GREENWOOD - Robert J. Corkell Sr., of Greenwood, died Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. He was 75.

Mr. Corkell was born in Denton, Md., son of the late Harry and Nancy Corkell.

He worked as a mechanic most of his life. His most recent job was with the State of Delaware as a driver for the mentally challenged.

In his spare time, Mr. Corkell enjoyed farming and hunting.

As a mechanic, his passion was for restoring and rebuilding tractors.

Mr. Corkell was a very loving husband, father and grandfather, who loved his spoil his grandchildren tremendously.

He also had a special place in his heart for his K-9 companion, Roxy.

Mr. Corkell was a member of the Harrington Moose 534. He was active in the Moose, was past governor and achieved his Legion and Fellowship Degree.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Mary E. "Liz" Corkell of Greenwood; sons, Robert Corkell Jr. of Preston, Md., and George Phillip Corkell, Timmy Corkell, Chris Corkell and Pat Corkell, all of Greenwood; daughter, Mary Beth Aviles of Greenwood; grandchildren, Rebecca Corkell, Shannan Corkell and Chelsea Aviles; great-grandchildren, Madison Isaacs and Kalli Chelton; brothers, Eugene Corkell of Harrington, Billy Corkell of Felton and Carvell "Duck" Corkell of Sandtown; and sister, Marjorie Foraker of Sandtown.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 S. DuPont Highway, Harrington. A visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Concord Cemetery, Federalsburg, Md.

Arrangements are by the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, DE.

Russum, Jeanette Elizabeth

Jeanette Elizabeth Russum of Magnolia, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2008 in Courtland Manor Nursing Home. She was 86.

Jeanette was born on July 27, 1924 in Talleyville, Delaware, daughter of the late William and Annie (MacWilliams) Shuck.

She enjoyed life as a homemaker and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Jeanette loved playing bingo especially regularly at the Magnolia Fire Hall.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Herman Russum, Sr., a daughter Ella Jane Ratledge and a sister Ella Jane Witzenfeld.

She is survived by five children Julie A. Hughes and her husband Arthur of Fort Pearce, FL, Retired COP US Coast Guard Herman M. Russum, Jr. of Gilbert, AZ, Anna Hartnett and her husband Ronald of Magnolia with whom she lived for 30 years, Ralph W. Russum and his wife Karen of Crumpton, MD and Charles R. Russum and his wife Joey Cohen-Russum of Dover, a sister Annie Hitch of Lakeland, FL, special niece Florence Twardowski of Smyrna, niece Norma Jane Martone of Wilmington and nephew William Campbell of Smyrna; nine grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 West Camden-Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions to the Magnolia Fire Company. P.O. Box 55, Magnolia, DE 19962.
