Cemetery: Spring Grove Cemetery
Deborah A. “Debbie” Largeteau, 51, of Alamogordo, New Mexico, died Friday, July 13, 2007, at her home.
Deborah was born
September 8, 1955 in Cedar Rapids. As a registered nurse she served as a missionary to India and Cambodia, and was employed at Betty Dare Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Alamogordo for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Alamogordo where she sang in the choir.
Survivors include her husband Mark Largeteau of the family home in Alamogordo; a son Gregory Castleberry of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Amanda Castleberry, and Sarah Harshey and her husband D.J., all of Alamogordo; four grandchildren, Micayla Harshey, Avery Castleberry, Nicholas Harshey and Baileigh Harshey, all of Alamogordo; her mother Betty Stuefen of Cedar Rapids; and two sisters, Kelly Moritz and her husband Terry, and Stephanie Lange and her husband Terry, all of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her father Bob Stuefen; and a brother Marshall Stuefen.
A Memorial service will be conducted Monday, July 16, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Alamogordo with Dr. Bill Campbell officiating. Hamilton-O’Dell Funeral Home is in charge of services in Alamogordo.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 20 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids with the Rev. Brenda Peconge officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery in rural Covington. Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids is in charge of local arrangements.
Jindrich, Marvin F.
Cemetery: Czech National Cemetery
Marvin F. Jindrich, 80 of rural Swisher died Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center, following a short illness. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 27, 2007 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fairfax. Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Czech National Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, where there will be a 7 p.m. vigil.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 58 years, Adeline; three daughters, Darla Michalec of Fairfax, Connie Miller and husband Rowley, Renae Ward and husband Tony all of Cedar Rapids, nine grandchildren, Benji Michalec and fiancé Stacy Wichman, Mindi and husband Cole Young, Jesse Michalec, Heidi Michalec, Angie Miller, Alicia Miller, Brandi and husband Andy Lawrance, Nicholas Ward, Shawn Ward; and two great grandchildren Lexi and Lacy Young.
Marvin was born
December 28, 1926 in Johnson County, the son of Frank and Mary Vorel Jindrich. He was united in marriage to Adeline Ludvicek October 12, 1948, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fairfax. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, son-in-law Ben Michalec, and a granddaughter Amy Miller.
Marvin was a life long farmer, in rural Swisher and in the past worked at the Amana Meat Market, and Waconia Sorghum Company. He was a life long member at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fairfax; Fairfax Senior Citizens, WFLA Lodge 400, and the Farm Bureau.
He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Living in rural Swisher, he had numerous friends and acquaintances. He especially enjoyed lawn and garden work and playing cards with friends and neighbors at family night card club gatherings.
He will be dearly missed by family and friends.

Schultz, Delores Jean
Delores Jean Schultz, 58, died in a tractor accident at her home in rural Walker on Monday, July 30, 2007.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, August 3, 2007 at Cono Christian School in Walker. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, August 2, 2007 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids.
Jean was born
December 1, 1948, in Cedar Rapids. Jean was raised in Hiawatha and graduated from Washington High School. She worked at Life Investors, Collins Radio and Proctor and Gamble in Iowa City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Herman and Mary Hiskey.
She is survived by her husband, Richard, whom she married on July 25, 1969, in Hiawatha; and by their children, Jennifer Schultz of Ames and Jason Schultz of Los Angeles, Calif.
Jean is also survived by four sisters, Wilma (Russ) Hanson of Melbourne, Fla., Marlene (Robert) Steadman of Hiawatha, Donna (Larry) Jons of Alburnett, Cheryl Klima of Elizabethtown, Ky.; and a brother, Charles (Michelle) Herman of Hiawatha.
She was very interested in reading and in her large antique doll collections. She loved traveling, lawn work and her dogs.

Dvorak McKee, Helen E.
Cemetery: Cedar Memorial Cemetery
Helen was born
January 29, 1909, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Frank and Emma Schultz Dvorak. She was a lifelong resident of Cedar Rapids. She married Jesse R. McKee on September 14, 1933 in Cedar Rapids. He died July 29, 1981. Mrs. McKee retired from Star Jewelry after 26 years of service. There are no immediate survivors.
Zach, Leo
Cemetery: Shueyville Cemetery
Leo F. Zach, 86 of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday August 5, 2007 at his home after a lengthy illness. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids with Rev. Jim Fields presiding. Burial to follow in Shueyville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids.
Leo was born
July 24, 1921 in Johnson County, the son of William and Millie (Kounty) Zach. He married Gladys Becicka on November 14, 1945 in Iowa City. Leo was a proud Army Veteran. He worked at Hertz Construction and Hawkeye Seed until his retirement in 1997. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and mostly spending time with his family.
Leo is survived by his wife of 61 years, Gladys; daughter Trish and husband Keith Kramer of Swisher; grandsons Noah and Samson; his little four footed friend, Riley; a sister Anna Bernice George; nephew David George; and niece Barbara Smith of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to thank Mercy Hospice and a send a special thanks to Barb Peterson.
A memorial fund has been established.
Drahos, Frank J.

Frank Drahos, 86 of Cedar Rapids died Sunday, August 5 at Mercy Medical Center after a brief illness. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 9, 2007 at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Burial to follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, where there will be a 6:30 p.m. vigil.
Frank was born
January 5, 1921 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Frank and Amalie Plotz Pospisil Drahos. He served in the US Army during World War II in Germany. He married Maxine M. Barnes on May 16, 1950 in Cedar Rapids. Frank worked for many years at Rockwell Collins until his retirement. He loved spending time traveling and being with his family and friends. Frank had been living with his daughter in Center Point the past three years, but he and Maxine lived on Circle Drive NE in Cedar Rapids for many years.
Frank is survived by his son Richard (Mary) of Cedar Rapids; daughters Cathleen “Cathy” (Larry) Martinson of Center Point, and Paula (Marty) Kloska of Reno, NV; grandchildren: Larry L. (Diane) Martinson, Dale A. (Tammi) Martinson, Christine (Guy) Kelly, Chris (Krista) Drahos, Deanna (David) Brewer, Jeff (Emily) Gollaher, James (Lori) Gollaher, and Amy (James) Steele; great-grandchildren Amanda, Kurt, Forrest, Kelsey, Wyatt, Calista, Brent, Haley, Jake, Alex, Taylor, Lilly, Brook, Brett, Matthew, Michel, Alley, and James; a sister Alice (William) Mosby of Marion; brothers Stanley (Irma) Drahos of Betram, Wes Drahos of Cedar Rapids and John (Barb) Drahos of Postville, as well as many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Maxine of over 49 years, who died October 13, 1999; two sisters Molly Mach and Julia Lawrence; two brothers Ed and August Pospisil; and a grandson Allen Frank Martinson.

Shaddox, Carolyn Sue
Carolyn Sue Shaddox, 64 of Solon, formerly of Cedar Rapids died Monday, August 6, 2007 at her home. Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 10, 2007 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids with Rev. William Harnish presiding. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids.
Carolyn was born
August 2, 1943 in Fort Madison, the daughter of Paul and Regina Baxter Horn. She married James Douglas Shaddox on August 2, 1961 in Fort Madison. Carolyn worked for 35 years with her husband J.D. at Business Control Systems. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends creating happy memories and gardening.
Carolyn is survived by her husband J.D.; her daughter Shelly (Stephen) Morelock of Solon; her son Bradley (Jennifer) Shaddox of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren Lindsay Morelock and Ryan Morelock; and her brothers Harold (Candy) Horn of Fort Madison, and Michael (Linda) Horn of Donnelson; a sister in laws Shirley (John) Thill of Mendota Heights, Minnesota; Carol (Ken) Knapp of Centralia, Illinois and a brother in law Jerry (Lea Ann) Shaddox of Waterloo, as well as many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
