FRIDAY, Fred E.

The funeral of Fred E. Friday, 86, who died Saturday 4-27-1985 will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Anchor. The Rev. Melvin C. Blobaum officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 - 9 p.m. today at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City; and an hour before the service Tuesday at the church. He was born 8-13-1898 at Brookston, Ind., a son of Henry and Anna Bielfeldt Friday. He married Mary A. Bradshaw 12-14-1921 in Griggsville. She died 5-5-1982. Surviving are one son, Harold, Gibson City; two daughters, Florence Hensen, Fairbury, and Ollie Cherland, Cortez, Colo.; one sister, Edna Landau, Anchor; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters and one granddaughter. He had farmed in the Anchor area until moving to Gibson City in 1961. He was a member of the East Central Illinois Club for the Deaf, the McLean County Farm Bureau and St. John's Lutheran Church, Anchor.

BIELFELDT, Minnie Hensen

Mrs. Minnie Bielfeldt, 88, a resident of Gibson City since 1951 died at ` 3:55 a.m. Saturday 11-3-1973 at the Gibson Manor Nursing Home in Gibson City. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church, near Anchor, with Rev. Alexander Youck officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Sunday at the Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City. Mrs. Bielfeldt was born 1-24-1885 at Anchor, a daughter of George and Anna Stuck Hensen. She married Adolph Bielfeldt on 1-29-1903 at Anchor. He died in 1970. She is survived by five sons, Fred, of Sibley, and Walter, Ralph, Junior, and Robert, all of Anchor; three daughters, Mrs. Amanda Stiegman, of Nashville, Il., Mrs. Velna Wichmann, of Melvin and Mrs. Evelyn Salyards, of Gibson City; 27 grandchildren, and 37 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons; two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She was a long-time resident of Anchor before moving to Gibson City. She was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church. Memorial contributions may be made to her church, the Gibson Manor Nursing home, or a charity of the donor's choice.

HASSEBROCK, Frieda Rippel

Frieda Hassebrock, 92, of Saybrook died at 3:28 a.m. 3-22-1989 at Gibson Community Hospital Annex, where she had been a patient since 1982. Her funeral was at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Anchor, the Rev. Melvin C. Blobaum officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Melvin Rippel, Clarence Rippel, Byron Jones, Junior Bielfeldt, Darwin Punke and Leo Lage. Visitation was from 9:30 - 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax, handled arrangements. She was born 7-28-1896 in El Paso, a daughter of Charles and Louise Hein Rippel. She married Henry Hassebrock on 2-29-1916 in Bloomington. He died 2-15-1963. Surviving are one son, Herman, Saybrook; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, six brothers and sisters and seven half-brothers and half-sisters. Mrs. Hassebrock was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Anchor, and the Dorcas Society of the church. She formerly lived in Secor, moving to Saybrook in 1937. Memorials may be made to St. John's Building Memorial Fund.

HAUPTMAN, Joseph

Joseph M. Hauptman, 80, of 2600 Center St. Granite City, a Bloomington native, died Saturday 5-25-2002 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis.

BIELFELDT, Ralph William

Ralph William Bielfeldt, age 86 of Colfax died at 10:15 a.m. 10-5-1997 at Heritage Manor in Colfax. Funeral services were held Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church of rural Anchor at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Robert Ferro and the Reverend Dan Jassman officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Visitation was from 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Duffy-Pils Memorial Home in Colfax Pallbearers included Paul Bielfeldt, Ron Bielfeldt, Ron Lage, David Lage, Frank Meyer and Jerry Kukuck. Mr. Bielfeldt was born 10-18-1910 in Anchor Twp a son of Adolph and Minnie Hensen Bielfeldt. He married Mildred Lage on 12-14-1933 at St. John's Lutheran Church in rural Anchor. She died 7-6-1984. He married Erma Powell Ferguson on 1-9-1988 at St. John's Lutheran Church of rural Anchor. Survivors include his wife, Erma Bielfeldt of Colfax; four sons, LaMar (Joyce) Bielfeldt of Abilene, TX; Dale (Blanche) Bielfeldt of Colfax; Allan (Melodee) Bielfeldt of Colfax and Bruce (Eileen) Bielfeldt of Anchor; one daughter, Irma (Ron) Hatfield of Shelbyville and one step-daughter, Glenda (Dan) Stewart of Anchor; two sisters, Velna Wichman of Melvin and Evelyn Salyards of Clifton, Tx; two brothers, Adolph Junior Bielfeldt and Robert Bielfeldt both of Anchor; nine grandchildren; three step-grandchildren;; seven great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, one sister and one step-grandchild. Mr. Bielfeldt was a lifetime resident of the Anchor and Colfax areas, retiring from farming in 1974. Memorials may be made to the Colfax Christian Church or to the Octavia Park District.

BIELFELDT, Mildred S. Lage

Mildred S. Bielfeldt, 71, of RR1 Colfax, a lifelong resident of the Anchor - Colfax area, died at 11:05 a.m. yesterday 7-6-1984 at Gibson Community Hospital, Gibson City. She had been ill. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Anchor, the Rev. Melvin Blobaum officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 - 8 p.m. Sunday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax, with a prayer service at 8 p.m. and from 9 - 10 a.m. Monday at the church. Mrs. Bielfeldt was born 12-25-1912 at Anchor, a daughter of Henry W. and Anna Beecher Lage. She married Ralph W. Bielfeldt 12-14-1933 at Anchor. He survives. Also surviving are four sons, LaMar, Abilene, TX.; Dale, Colfax; Allan, El Paso, and Bruce, Anchor; one daughter, Irma Barr, Sullivan; four brothers, Louis, Leo, and Merlin Lage, all of Colfax; and Carmon Englewood, Colo.; two sisters, Hazel Klintworth, Colfax; and Ida Watson, Kissimmee, Fl.; and eight grandchildren. Mrs. Bielfeldt was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, the Dorcas Society and Friendship Club. Memorials may be made to her church or the Eastern McLean County Ambulance Association.

BIELFELDT, Walter Henry

The funeral of Walter Henry Bielfeldt, 81, of Anchor will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Anchor. The Rev. Melvin C. Blobaum will officiate; burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 - 8 p.m. today at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax, with a prayer service at 8 p.m. Mr. Bielfeldt died at 6:47 p.m. Sunday 9-3-1989 at Brokaw Hospital, Normal. He was born 5-24-1908 in Anchor, a son of Adolph and Minnie Hensen Bielfeldt. He married Myrtle Gilmore 9-25-1929 at Anchor. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Donald Bielfeldt, Anchor, and Larry Bielfeldt, Bloomington, three daughters, Marcelene Eyer, Bloomington, Nancy Clark, Bloomington, and Vicki Vance, Lexington; three brothers, Ralph Bielfeldt, Colfax, and Adolph and Robert Bielfeldt, both of Anchor; three sisters, Amanda Steigman, New Minden, Velna Wichmann, Melvin, and Evelyn Salyards, Clifton, TX; 14 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and twin daughters. He was a lifelong Anchor resident and lived on the same farm for 58 years. Mr. Bielfeldt was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, a charter member of Anchor Grain Co., and was ditch commissioner of Anchor Twp for 40 years. Memorials may be made to his church.

BISHOP, Sarah Wiley

LEXINGTON, Dec. 4, 1930 - Pantagraph - Mrs. Sarah Bishop, 91, died at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday (Dec. 3) at the home of her son, G.W. Bishop, following a protracted illness caused by the infirmities of age. Mrs. Bishop was born Feb. 22, 1839, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William R. Wiley. She was the granddaughter of John Patton, the first white settler in Lexington township. He came to this township from Kentucky in 1827. Miss Wiley was married to Thomas Jefferson Bishop July 6, 1854. He preceded her in death in 1915 at the age of 90 years. Surviving Mrs. Bishop are two sons, George W. of Lexington; Edward W. of Farmington, Wash.; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three children of the fifth generation. Mrs. Bishop spent her entire life in this vicinity with the exception of 15 years spent with her son in Washington. She returned to Lexington three years ago and lived with her son, George. The funeral will be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Bishop at 2 p.m. Friday in charge of the Rev. E.G. Anderson, paster of the Methodist Episcopal church. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill cemetery.

BLAIR, David

The Colfax Press July 4, 1924
David Blair, an old resident of this vicinty died at his farm home near Colfax on Friday, July 4 at the age of 60 years. He was born at Tremont in Tazewell county on June 28, 1864. At the age of 11 years he moved with his parents to the farm south of Colfax which has since been the family home. They were among the first settlers in Martin township. He is survived by two brothers, Thomas and William of Colfax; four sisters, Mrs. Jane Stewart of Edmonds, Okla., Mrs. Anna Gillan, Lida and Addie of Colfax. His father and mother preceded him in death a number of years ago. The funeral services were held from the home Sunday afternoon at two o'clock, with Rev. S.S. Langdoc, pastor of the Colfax Methodist Church officiating, who preached a most comforting sermon and in his eulogy and at the grave said we bury today the body of a man who has lived 60 years and I believe he has harmed no one. He lived a quiet, honest and a good life. He lived up to what he believed was right and no one feared him who met him on life's pathway. The pallbearers were Edgar Wilson, Frank Gray, James Gaddis, Frank N. Stauffer, Turner Bennett and Everett Douglass. Many relatives and friends from distant places attended as well as from our own community to show their esteem of the deceased. A quartet composed of Mrs. Harvey Hamilton, Mrs. James Wood, Samuel Bane and J.R. Williams sang several appropriate selections and they were accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Harry W. Corpe. Interment was in Wiley cemetery.

BOMGARDEN, Herman G.

BLOOMINGTON _ Herman G. Bomgarden, 80, of Bloomington, formerly of Peoria and Morton, died at 11:28 p.m. Sunday, July 28, 1991, at LeRoy Manor in LeRoy. He was born Dec. 6, 1910, in El Paso to Eno G. and Kathryn Finck Bomgarden. Surviving are four sisters, Eleanor Zehr of Bloomington, Ruby Vaughn of Mansfield, Helen Bachtol of Chenoa, and Lena Petersen of Colfax. He worked for Caterpillar Inc. and REDCO in Peoria and later farmed in the Lexington area. He recently was a foreman for Power Controls in Peoria, retiring in 1976. He was a member of the Lutheran Church. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Metzler-Froelich Memorial Home, Bloomington, the Rev. Richard J. Mick officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the memorial home. Burial will be in Park Hill cemetery, Bloomington.

BORK, James E.

Lexington - James E. Bork, 49, of Lexington, formerly of Piper City, died at 4:45 p.m. Saturday 11-11-1995 at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of Christ United, Lexington, the Rev. Dennis Pritchard officiating. Burial will be in Lexington cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 - 8 p.m. Monday at Musselman-Beck Funeral Home, Lexington. Memorials may be made to the Designated Fund at the Church of Christ United, the Lexington Ambulance Fund or the Heart Fund. He is survived by his wife, Connie Sue (Siron) Bork, Lexington; his parents, Edwin and Margaret Bork, Bloomington; two sons, Geoff, Eureka; and Scott, Macomb; three brothers, Larry Bork, Jacksonville; Lynn and Bob Bork, both of Bloomington. Mr. Bork was born 8-30-1946 in Fairbury a son of Edwin and Margaret Clark Bork. He married Connie Sue Siron 5-6-1972 in Lexington. He worked as an office manager at the Struck Company, Bloomington. He was a member of the Church of Christ United and the Lexington American Legion Elmo F. Hill Post 291. He served as a sergeant in the Air Force in Vietnam and Okinawa. Mr. Bork graduated from Piper City High School in 1964.
