Harold Sleezer Jr. 1933-1999
SHEPHERD, Texas - Harold Sleezer Jr., 66, died Dec. 17, 1999, at Shepherd.
He was born Jan. 30, 1933, at LeRoy, the son of Harold Sr. and Zella Lemon
Sleezer. He married Espy Hawkins April 8, 1995, at Houston, Texas. He was a
graduate of Ellinwood High School. A resident of Shepherd, he was a retired
maintenance employee for Brookside Memorial Park cemetery in Houston.
Survivors include his wife of the home; one son, Brian Sleezer of
Montgomery, Texas; three daughters, Karen Sleezer of Katy, Texas, MaryAnn
Herman of Navaree, Fla., and Valarie Neill of Riddleton, Tenn.; one
stepson, Alan Clogston of Shepherd; one stepdaughter, Rae Lynn Clogston of
Jacksonville, Fla.; his mother of Madill, Okla.; and nine grandchildren. He
was preceded in death by one brother, Brian Sleezer.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lakin-Comanche District
Cemetery in Ellinwood with the Rev. Jim Newkirk officiating. Memorials are
suggested to American Cancer Association, in care of Kimple Inc. Funeral
Home in Ellinwood.

Irma E. Debes 1908-2000
ODIN - Irma E. Debes, 92, died April 13 at Integrated Health Services of
Woodhaven in Ellinwood. She was born Jan. 17, 1908, at Odin, the daughter
of Peter and Catherine Herrmann Debes. A lifetime resident of Odin, she was
a housekeeper for St. Rose School of Nursing in Great Bend.
She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and Holy Family Altar
Society, both of Odin.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Joe Kaiser of Claflin and Mrs. Bill
Huschka of Ellinwood. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Joe
Debes, John Debes and Frank Debes; and three sisters, Matilda Debes, Mrs.
Joe K. Wondra and Mrs. Math Martin.
Vigil service followed by Altar Society rosary will be at 7 tonight at
Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m.
Monday at the church with the Rev. Pascal Klein officiating. Burial will be
at Holy Family cemetery in Odin. Friends may call from 1-8 p.m. today at
the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to IHS of Woodhaven or the
church, both in care of the funeral home.

Leland Robert Calhoon 1937-2000
OLMITZ - Leland Robert Calhoon, 62, died April 11 at his home. He was born
Nov. 4, 1937, at Norton, the son of Leonard and Mary Donnelly Calhoon. He
attended school in Lenora. A resident of Olmitz, coming from Lenora and
Russell, he worked in the oil industry, hauled grain and worked for the
Galatia Co-op in Galatia.
Survivors include his parents.
Funeral Mass was April 14 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in New Almelo with
the Rev. John Walsh officiating. Burial was at St. Joseph cemetery in New
Almelo. Memorials are suggested to donor's choice, in care of Pauls Funeral
Home in Oberlin.

Solomon 'Saul' David Kreutzer 1941-2000
Solomon "Saul" David Kreutzer, 58, died April 14. He was born July 28,
1941, at Hays, son of John and Martina Younger Kreutzer. He married Carroll
Rogers Dec. 8, 1983, at Great Bend. A resident of Great Bend for 25 years,
coming from Hays, he was a mechanic for Great Bend Snapper.
Survivors include his wife of the home; three daughters, Diane Kreutzer of
Waterloo, Ill., Sandi Lohr of Arkansas City and Lee Ann Gilly of Covington,
La.; three stepdaughters, Alicia Westhoff of Great Bend, Sheila
Hammerschmidt of Ellsworth and Lorri Patterson of Wichita; his mother,
Martina Windholz of Victoria; three sisters, Carol Jean Foos of Great Bend,
Rose Kreutzer of Victoria and Mary Walter of Belleville, Ill.; two
grandsons; and five step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one
sister, Shirley Braun.
Rosary will be at 2 p.m. today at Bryant-Christians Funeral Home. Funeral
will be at 10 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Jerry Patterson
officiating. Burial will be at Dundee Valley cemetery in Dundee. Friends
may call from 1-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested
to American Heart Association, in care of the funeral home.

Chad Michael Dezotell 1987-2000
HAYSVILLE - Chad Michael Dezotell, 13, died July 7. He was born May 25,
1987, in Holland, Mich., the son of the Rev. Steven and Rhonda Dezotell. A
resident of Haysville, he was a student at Haysville Middle School.
Survivors include his parents; two brothers, Gary Dezotell and Brian
Dezotell, both of the home; and grandparents, Darrell and Shirley Dezotell
of Newport, Vt., and Calvin and Betty Smith of Hoisington. He was preceded
in death by one brother, Douglas Dezotell.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Haysville Church of the Nazarene.
Friends may call from 4-8 tonight at Smith Mortuary in Haysville. In lieu
of flowers, memorials are suggested to the church, in care of the funeral
home.

Ruth Jean Miller 1934-2000
MCPHERSON - Ruth Jean Miller, 65, died July 8 at Via Christi Regional
Medical Center, St. Francis Campus in Wichita. She was born Dec. 24, 1934,
at Laurenz, Iowa, the daughter of Max and Helen Grossnickle. She received a
bachelor's degree in education from McPherson College. She married Ronald
E. Miller Dec. 29, 1956, in Laurenz. A resident of McPherson for three
years, coming from rural Macksville, she was a homemaker and taught school
for 27 years in Iowa, Guam and Macksville.
Mrs. Miller was a member of Eden Valley Church of the Brethren of St. John
and National Education Association.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Kenneth J. Miller of Macksville;
one daughter, Kathy J. Miller of McPherson; her mother of Laurenz; two
brothers, Wayne Grossnickle of Laurenz and Max Grossnickle Jr. of Erie; one
sister, Gwenna Appel of Curlew, Iowa; and two grandchildren. She was
preceded in death by one daughter, Karen Elaine Burkholder.
Graveside service will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at McPherson Cemetery.
Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church with the Revs.
Parsram Venkatsammy and Matt Spurgin officiating. Friends may call from 1-8
p.m. Tuesday at Minnis Chapel in St. John. The casket will remain closed.
Memorials are suggested to the church, Friendship Day Care or National
Leukemia Society, all in care of the funeral home.

Cherline Haase 1930-2000
Cherline Haase, 69, died July 9 at Central Kansas Medical Center, St. Rose
Campus in Great Bend.
Survivors and funeral arrangements will be announced by Bryant-Christians
Funeral Home in Great Bend.

Mark A. Link 1952-2000
Mark A. Link, 48, died July 8 at his home in Great Bend. He was born March
3, 1952, in Great Bend, the son of Kenneth J. and Shirley J. Wallace Link.
He married Janis Kay Hejny Jan. 26, 1974, in Great Bend. A lifetime
resident of the Great Bend area, he was the owner and operator of Chase
Well Service.
Link was a member of First United Methodist Church, Isis Shrine, Kansas
Independent Oil and Gas Association, member and past master of Masonic
Lodge 15 and member and past president of the Association of Oilwell
Services and Contractors.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons, Michael Kent Link of
Wichita and Steven Mark Link of Great Bend; his parents; and two sisters,
Linda Meyeres of Chase and Rita Bownes of Great Bend. He was preceded in
death by one brother, Kent Eugene Link.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church with the Revs. Jana
Baxter, Marvin Sackschewsky and Angel Dy officiating. Burial will be at
Everitt cemetery in Great Bend with Masonic graveside rites. Friends may
call until 9 tonight and from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday at
Bryant-Christians Funeral Home in Great Bend. Memorials are suggested to
Park School PTA or Masonic Lodge 15, both in care of the funeral home.

Richard Miller 1939-2000
KINSLEY - Richard Miller, 60, died July 8 at Kinsley. He was born Aug. 22,
1939, at Kinsley, the son of George F. and Alfreda Heyne Miller. He was a
1957 graduate of Kinsley High School. He married Bonnie Jacobs Aug. 8,
1959, at Dubuque. A lifetime resident of Kinsley, he was a retired 24th
judicial district magistrate judge of Edwards County from 1969-1997.
Miller was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and St. Edward's
Council Knights of Columbus, both of Kinsley.
Survivors include his wife of the home; four sons, Richard D. Miller and
Eric B. Miller, both of Emporia, Mitchell C. Miller of Olathe and Aaron L.
Miller of Wichita; one daughter, Denise Wheaton of Lewis; his mother; and
11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and one
grandchild, Jacob Wheaton.
Rosary service will be at 7:30 tonight at McKillip Memorial Chapel in
Kinsley. Parish vigil service will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. William
Vogel officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. at St. Catherine's in Dubuque.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The
family will receive friends in the church basement following the parish
vigil. Memorials are suggested to St. Nicholas School Endowment Fund or
Dubuque Catholic cemetery Trust, both in care of the funeral home.

Evelyn C. Lebbin 1917-2000
MIDLAND, Texas - Evelyn C. Lebbin, 82, died July 7 at the Younger Center in
Midland, Texas. She was born Sept. 11, 1917, in Wichita, the daughter of
Burton and Blanche Wise Martin. She married Milton Lebbin on Aug. 7, 1938,
at Ellinwood. He died Feb. 2, 1997. A longtime resident of Ellinwood, she
lived the last three years in Midland, Texas.
Mrs. Lebbin was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Ellinwood,
various bridge clubs, a China painting club and the Menninger Bible Class.
Survivors include one son, Keith Lebbin of Scott City; one daughter, Mary
Ann Johnston of Midland, Texas; six grandchildren; and seven
great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church with the Rev. Andy Keltner
officiating. Friends may call from 1-8 p.m. Monday at Kimple Funeral Home
in Ellinwood. Burial will be at the Lakin-Comanche District cemetery in
Ellinwood. Memorials are suggested to the church, in charge of the funeral
home.
