Larry Douglas Daniels, age 50 of West Liberty, formerly of Johnson County, passed away Friday morning at his home. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Ann Banks Daniels, 3 sons, 2 daughters, 3 brothers and 13 grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, August 19th at 2:30 P.M. in the Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at the Johnson County Memorial cemetery, Staffordsville. Visitation will be Monday 10 A.M. until the time of service.

Everett Sisco
Everette Sisco, age 72, the husband of Billie Sisco, passed away Sunday morning at his home in Flat Gap. In addition to his wife he leaves behind 2 brothers: John Edward and Sherman Cisco; 6 Sisters: Jean Stapleton, Thelma Estep, Mary Sizemore, Louise Stapleton, Brenda Coats, & Brenda Sue Thacker; 1 special nephew: Andy Patrick. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday 2 P.M. at the Cannons Chapel Church, Volga with burial to follow at the Patrick cemetery, Fitch Branch, Meally. Friends may visit at the church Monday 2 P.M. and anytime prior to funeral service.

Carol Moore
Carol Moore, 78 of Flat Gap passed away Monday evening at her home. She leaves behind 2 daughters: Corrine Rae Fyffe of Flat Gap & Catlin Smith of Hayard, KY; and 3 grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday 11 a.m. in the Chapel of the Paintsville funeral home with burial to follow at the Skaggstown Church cemetery, Flat Gap. Friends may visit Wednesday evening at the Paintsville Funeral Home from 7-10 p.m. with Eastern Star Rights 7 p.m.

Barbara "Bobbie" Meadows
Barbara “Bobbie” Meadows, age 75 of Wittensville passed away Wednesday afternoon at her home. She is preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Mary Katherine Meadows. She leaves behind 2 brothers: Clarence Allen & Edward Meadows both of Wittensville; 4 sisters: Roberta Long of Springfield, Mary Ruth Melvin of Wittensville, Virginia Tackett of Staffordsville and Anita Gullett of Thelma; along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday September 1, 2013 2:00 P.M. at the Toms Creek Free Will Baptist Church with burial to follow at the Meadows cemetery, Wittensville. Visitation will be Friday 6-10 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the Paintsville Funeral Home.

Charles William "Sonny" Combs
Charles William "Sonny" Combs, age 84 of Paintsville passed away Thursday August 29th at the Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center. He leaves behind his wife, Billye D. Hall, 2 sons: Charles Michael Combs of Jemze, NM, and Gary Lee Combs of Maryville, TN; 1 daughter: Dana J. Ison of West Liberty, KY; and 5 grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at the Highland Church of Christ Sunday September 1, at 2 p.m.

John M. Wheeler Sr.
John M. Wheeler Sr. age 88 of Paintsville passed away Sunday September 8, at the Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center. He is survived by his wife, Lenora Wheeler; 2 sons: John Wheeler Jr. & Joseph Wheeler; 1 daughter: Peggy Wheeler; 1 step-son: John Johnson; 3 Step-daughters: Nellie Bowen, Alma Osborne and Cheryl Arms; a host of grandchildren and step-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, September 12, 2 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Nippa, with burial to follow in the Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville. Visitation will be at the Paintsville Funeral Home Tuesday 5-9 p.m., Wednesday 9 a.m.- 9 p.m., and Thursday 9 a.m.

Jimmie Carroll
Jimmie Carroll, age 70 of Paintsville, passed away Wednesday morning September 11, 2013 at his home. He is survived by his wife, Patty Copley Carroll; one son: John Carroll of Lexington, KY; one sister: Gloria Wiley of Danville, KY; and 1 granddaughter: Georgia Jane Carroll. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, September 14, 2013, 12:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church of Paintsville with burial to follow at the Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville. Friends may visit Friday, 6-9 p.m., in the Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel and Saturday 11:00 a.m. to lie in state at the First Christian Church in Paintsville. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the First Christian Church of Paintsville by either contacting the church or the Paintsville Funeral Home at 606-789-5125.

Wade Salyer
Wade Salyer, age 82 of Paintsville, died Monday October 7, 2013 at the Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center. He was the son of the late Glen Salyer and Ernestine McCloud Salyer Blair. Funeral will be conducted Friday October 11, 1 P.M. in the Chapel of the Paintsville Funeral Home with burial to follow at the Johnson County Memorial cemetery, Staffordsville. Friends may visit Thursday, 4-8 p.m. and Friday 9 a.m. at the Paintsville Funeral Home.

Walter "Curly" Blevins
Walter "Curly" Blevins, age 92, the husband of 70 years to the late Elva Blevins, passed away Wednesday October 16th, 2013. He is survived by 3 sons: Emery & William Blevins both of West Van Lear, & Nero Blevins of Meally; 4 daughters: Louella Kestner of Hager Hill, Norma Jo Kestner of West Van Lear, Joyce Kestner Hager Hill, & Amelia Godfrey of Fayettville, NC.; 1 sister: Mabel Pitts of Salem, OH; 24 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren & 1 great-great grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 19th 1 p.m. at the Little Mud Lick Church of God, with burial to follow at the Blevins Family cemetery, West Van Lear. Friends may visit the Church Thursday, 6 p.m., all day Friday and prior to services on Saturday.

Cobert Calvin Salyer, 80, husband of Patricia Salyer of Flat Gap, KY, died October 20, 2013. He was born May 16, 1933 at Flat Gap, KY to the late Trimble and Eula McKenzie Salyer. He is survived by his 4 Daughters: Denise Oberley & Judy Rose both of Flat Gap, KY, Jennifer Salyer & Lisa Salyer both of Circleville, OH; Step-Son: David Dale, Orient, OH; Step-Daughter: Diane Dodge, Columbus, OH; Brother: Hobert Salyer, Keaton, KY; Grandchildren: 9 Great-Grandchildren: 11; Step-Grandchildren: 2; Step-Great-Grandchildren: 2. Funeral Service at Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel, Paintsville on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 2:00 PM. Phillip Keeton officiated. Friends may call Wed. 4 to 9 p.m., Thurs. 9 a.m., Paintsville Funeral Home. Burial at Sparks Family cemetery, Flat Gap, Kentucky. He was a Life Member of the American Legion, and a US Navy Veteran during the Korean War.

Veva Mae Crace, 85, of Oil Springs, KY, died October 27, 2013. She was born December 2, 1927 at Rockhouse, Magoffin Co., KY to the late Parker and Evelyn Pigg West. She is survived by Son: John "Mary Ann" Crace, Oil Springs, KY; Daughter: Vicki "Payne Jr." M. Rice, Oil Springs, KY; Brother: Robert "Bonnie" West, The Villages, FL; Sister: Eula West, Santa Fe, CA; Grandchildren: 4 Great-Grandchildren: 12. Her husband Harry Crace preceded her in death May 11, 2008. She retired as postmaster from the Oil Springs Post Office, and she was a member of the Oil Springs Homemakers and the National League of Postmasters. Funeral Service at Oil Springs United Methodist Church, Oil Springs on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. John Back and Charles Gearheart officiated. Andrew Lowell G. Bailey, 90, husband of Laura Bailey of Richmond, KY, died October 27, 2013. He was born March 3, 1923 at Keaton, KY to the late Elder J. T. Bailey and Erie Evans Bailey. He is survived by his Son: Danny Bailey, Ashland, KY; Brother: Thomas Lurray Bailey, Crossville, TN; 2 Sisters: Genett Lorell Ison & Willadene Skaggs both of Lexington, KY; Granddaughter: Andrea Centers Davis and Grandson: Charles Bailey Day both of Richmond, KY; Great-Grandchildren: 3. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lorraine Ferguson Bailey. He was a US Marine and a retired pipe fitter. Mark Joseph Girard, 59, of Paintsville died January 3, 2012 at his home. He was born October 11, 1952 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Victor Girard and Genny Latour. He is survived by a special friend, Donna Caudill, Staffordsville, Ky. and her twin daughters, Lacey and Tracey. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

She was born October 11, 1930 in Johnson County to the late John Lloyd and Mary Howard Williams. She is survived by Son: WSIP's Dana "Mary" Lyons, Paintsville, KY; Daughter: Sandy McCreedy, Gallipolis, OH; 2 Granddaughters: Carrie "Jacob" Farthing, Hager Hill, KY & Andrea "John" Rhodes, Paintsville, KY; Grandson: Adam "Princess" Lyons, Paintsville, KY; Great-Grandchildren: 7; Sister-in-Law: Sadie Williams, Columbus, OH. She was preceded in death by her husband James C. Wilburn March 26, 2005. Also deceased is a daughter Valerie Paulette Tackett, three brothers and three sisters. Kenneth Powers, 61, husband of Mistcha "Misty" Wells Powers of East Point, died January 23, 2012 at his home. He was born September 7, 1950, in Thayer, Kansas to the late Rabern and Marie Fern Umbarger Powers. He is survived by his Daughter: Misty "Christopher" Green, Paducah, KY; 4 Brothers: Glen "Kay" Powers, Afton, OK, James "Rachel" Powers, Chanute, KS, Milton "Jo" Powers, Afton, OK & Steven "Patty" Powers, Thayer, KS; Sister: Judy "Conrad" Froleich, Chanute, KS; Grandson: Conrad Barrett Green. Beulah Moore
Beulah Catherine (Meade) Moore Beulah C. Moore age 95 of Paintsville, KY passed from this life to Heaven on Saturday March 3, 2012. She was born November 9, 1916 at Niles, KY (near Oil Springs), the daughter of Lindsey L. and Mary Coldiron Meade. Beulah was married to Price T. Moore (1912 - 2002) of Flat Gap on October 13, 1934. They were married 67 years and 3 months and had three children; Phyllis Jean; Mary Jo; and Catherine Ann. Beulah is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daughter Catherine Ann, son-in-law, Gail Gillem, Brothers Bob, Ray, and Guy Meade; Sisters Ora Schroder, Jewel Yates, Hager White, and Mabel Wheeler. She is survived by a brother, Bill Meade of Cleveland, TN; daughters Phyllis Gillem of Paintsville; Mary Jo (James D.) Kelly of Paintsville; four grandchildren; Scott (Vonetta) Hazlette of Paintsville; Tim (Margaret) Hazlette of Nicholasville; Leslie (Paul R.) Pelphrey of Keaton; and Marc Kelly of Morehead. In addition, she is survived by four great-grandchildren; Thomas Hazlette, Nicholasville; Emily (Bryan) Boyle, Highland Heights, KY; and Robert Hazlette and Andy Hazlette both of Paintsville. Beulah was a homemaker most of her life except for the two occasions she worked outside the home; once during the period when her husband and brother co-owned the Paintsville Serv - O - Center Ashland Service Station at the corner of Second and College Streets; and a Nutrition Assistant for the Johnson County Extension Office. Beulah was a committed Christian and a member of the Flat Gap Enterprise Baptist Church. Friends may visit at the Paintsville Funeral Home on Monday March 5, 2012 beginning at 6:00 PM. The funeral will be conducted at the Paintsville Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Tuesday March 6, 2012 with burial at the Highlands Memorial Gardens cemetery.
