Quinton Anderson
April 12, 2009 - April 26, 2015

Quinton Isaiah Anderson, 6, of DeRidder, LA went to see Jesus, peacefully laying in his mommy's arms, on Sunday, April 26, 2015 in New Orleans, LA. He fought almost two years, with a great big, beautiful smile; now he is cancer free. Quinton was energetic, a great dancer and liked to fish. He was the sweetest boy in the world, smart and cool.
Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Angela Hennigan (Josh Tellis); father, Clinton Anderson (Melissa); sisters, Alexus, Amia, Alonna, Ahdonaijah, and baby sister Joshelyn; brothers, Walter, Jordan, C.J., Lil Josh, Dorian, and Elijah; grandparents Evelyn Hennigan; Rechel and John Harvey; great grandmother, Mrs. Frankie Lee Johnson; aunt “Na Na”, Crystal Hennigan; uncles, Trinity Johnson, Jeff Vincent, Charles Vincent, Ramon “Bubba” (Jade) Ellender, and Bruce Hennigan; numerous great aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Clinton Anderson, Sr. and Andy Hennigan; and great-great grandma Bessie Gamble.
The family would like to express special thanks to all our friends, the staff at Beauregard Memorial, Children's Hospital, N.O., Touro Hospital, and the Ronald McDonald House. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pentecostal Gospel Light House Church 305 Bryan St. DeRidder, LA 70634. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 30, 2015 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral service is Friday May 1, 2015 at 11:00am at Pentecostal Gospel Lighthouse Church. Rev. Ed Tilley will officiate.

James LeRoy "Choc" Griffin
September 24, 1936 - April 26, 2015
James LeRoy “Choc” Griffin, 78, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Sunday, April 26, 2015 in Leesville, LA. Mr. Griffin was an avid sportsman and loved his family and pets. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 56 years, Wanda Lou Shirley Griffin of DeRidder, LA; son, James Allan Griffin of DeRidder, LA; daughter, Karen Gay Griffin Munoz of McAllen, TX; sister, Irene Spell of Lake Charles, LA; grandchildren, Rachel Shea Munoz of San Diego, CA, and Taylor Ryan of McAllen, TX. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Dorothy Marks, Johnnie Ruth Cagnolatti, and L.B. Griffin.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2015 from 5:30 until 7:30 at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral service is Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at 10:00am at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home. Rev. George Lee Glass Jr. will officiate.

Arthur Eddleman
May 3, 1947 - April 23, 2015
Arthur Dale Eddleman, 67, of Singer, LA, passed from this life on Thursday, April 23, 2015 in Lake Charles, LA. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Margaret Eddleman; sons, Bud Eddleman, and Brandon Eddleman and wife Sara all of Singer, LA; daughters, Mary Jones and husband Ronnie of DeRidder, LA and Brandi Wren and husband Cimmerron of Singer, LA; brother, Daniel Wade Eddleman and wife Dawn; sisters, Alda Clark and husband Dean, and Edna Eddleman all of Singer, LA; grandchildren, Ricky Dale Eddleman, Haley Wynette Eddleman, Kayla Lester, Amberly Fontenot, Tylor Jones, Landon Eddleman, Dylan Eddleman, Colben Eddleman; step grandchildren, CJ Wren and Kelsie Wren; and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Delma Eddleman; and brothers, Archie, Wayne and Ricky Eddleman.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Good Hope Baptist Church in Singer, LA beginning at 1:00pm. Funeral service will be held Sunday, April 26, 2015 at 2:00pm at Good Hope Baptist Church in Singer, LA. Burial will follow at Good Hope cemetery. Rev. Jimmy Clark and Rev. Mark Schultz will officiate.

Doretha Flores
January 17, 1927 - April 23, 2015
Dorethia Flores, 88, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Thursday, April 23, 2015. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Joseph “Al” Flores and wife Leslie of DeRidder, LA; daughter, Debra Darlene Droddy DuBose and husband Hugh of DeRidder, LA; brother, Rev. Hardy Droddy and wife Dot of Kirbyville, TX; grandchildren, Matthew DuBose, Sarah Buxton and husband Alex, Jenny Sproles and husband Rylan all of DeRidder, LA; Annabel Flores of New Orleans, LA, Ellen Flores of Lake Charles, LA, and Joey Flores of Lake Charles, LA; great grandchildren, Madeline Lester, Brennan DuBose, Thomas Lester, Evangeline Sproles, and Wes Buxton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Flores; parents, Alva and Luna Droddy; brothers, Harvey, Buddy, and Robert Earl Droddy.

Visitation and Funeral service will be at Pentecostal Gospel Lighthouse in DeRidder, LA. Visitation will be Saturday, April 25, 2015 from 6:00pm until 10:00pm. Funeral service is Sunday, April 26, 2015 at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Good Hope cemetery in Singer, LA.

Barbara Peavy
October 24, 1925 - April 18, 2015
Barbara Ola Peavy, 89, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Saturday, April 18, 2015 in Cincinnati, OH. Mrs. Peavy played piano, the organ, and the accordion. She was an artist and seamstress. Mrs. Peavy was a wonderful helpmate to her minister husband for 62 years. Their ministry took them to foreign lands as well as many places in the United States. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Thomas J. Peavy, Jr. of Abilene, TX; daughter, Bonne’ Peavy of Cincinnati, OH; brothers, Nathan Savoie and Ralph Savoie; grandchildren, Thomas J. “Jody” Peavy III and Shaunna Stark; great grandchildren, Naomi Richarson, Canton Bell, Spencer Bell, Logan Peavy, Taylor Peavy, Noah Peavy and Chase Peavy; great-great granddaughter, Paisley Ann Richardson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Thomas “Joel” Peavy; parents, Gaston and Inez Savoie; baby daughter, Rachel Peavy; sisters, Frances Lee Dye, Inez Bares and Marie Duncan; brother, Clyde Savoie.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 24, 2015 from 6:00pm until 10:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral service is Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 1:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Bilbo cemetery in Fields, LA. Rev. Alvin Smith, and Rev. Ed Raley, will officiate.

Bobby Deason
August 4, 1944 - April 19, 2015
Bobby R. Deason, 70, of DeRidder, LA, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2015 at his home. Bobby was a “great” hard working man and a strong and loving family man and will be greatly missed. He was a leader and teacher in life and enjoyed fishing, working, and grilling for his family. He worked at Boise Cascade for 37 years as an Instrument and Electrical Maintenance Superintendant. He was a good Christian man.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Judy Gaskin Deason; son, Eric R. Deason of DeRidder, La; grandson, Brent Fletcher of DeRidder, LA; great grandson, Dylan Perkins-Fletcher; sister, Peggy Smith of DeRidder, LA, and Betty Heurtevant of Sulphur, LA; and brother, Ronnie L. Deason of Hackberry, LA. He was preceded in death by his father, Marcus Deason and mother, Estelle Deason Perry; daughter, Sabrina Deason-Owens; grandson, Dean Fletcher, Jr.; and brother, Roger Deason.

Visitation and funeral service is Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Visitation will begin at 10:00am until time of funeral service at 2:00pm. Burial will follow in Blue Branch cemetery in Pitkin, LA. Rev. Sharon Harris will officiate.

Mae Dell Jackson
June 10, 1926 - April 11, 2015
Mae Dell Jackson, 88, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Saturday, April 11, 2015. Mrs. Jackson, a longtime native of DeRidder, was an active member of the Community, participating on several boards and auxillaries to include the Beauregard Concerned Citizens Board, VFW, and the NAACP. She was employed with the School district and the Department of Defense as a Cook. Her passion was driven by a strong love for family and the Church. She was a member of the Beauregard Church of Christ for many years. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Amos Lee Luster, Jr., Adell Williamston Steven Brand (Della), Jean Newsome (Jasper), Roshell Shillow, Charles Ray Jackson (Princine), Steve Delia (Phyllis);godchild, Crystal Beverly; brothers, Odell Jackson and Aaron Jefferson; sisters, Novie Booker, and Betty Mae Jackson; 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 2 great- great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Fred Jackson; mother, Bertha Mae Quinn; brother, Nathaniel Jackson; sisters, Willie Mae Jackson, Marie Yearby, and Emma Jefferson; daughter, Kathy Simpson; daughter-in-law, Bertha Shillow.

Visitation and Funeral services will be held Friday, April 17, 2015 at Bilbo Church of Christ in DeRidder, LA. Visitation will begin at 9:00am until time of service at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Beauregard cemetery. Brother Tommy Jordan of the Blake St. Church of Christ will officiate.

Raymond Serenbetz
April 22, 1941 - April 6, 2015
Raymond Wallace Serenbetz, 73 of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Monday, April 6, 2015 in Houston, TX. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Katherine Serenbetz of DeRidder, LA; son, William Serenbetz of Washington State; daughters, Sherri Sears and husband Russell of Virginia, Kimberly Hollie and husband Michael of Lake Charles, LA, Janet Valley of Tennessee, Suzanne Bostwick and husband Allen of Wisconsin, and Katherine Norein and husband Ahmed of Florida; brother, Robert Serenbetz of Florida; grandchildren, Jayce, Ashley, Alison, Logan, Alec, Kimberly, Andrew, Dahlia, Sophia, and Evania.

Rachel Watson
July 23, 1939 - March 27, 2015
Rachel Ashworth Watson, 75, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Friday, March 27, 2015 at Beauregard Memorial Hospital. She attended school and graduated in Rosepine, LA. She loved quilting, sewing, bowling, gardening, and was a great cook. Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Ricky Watson and wife Rhonda of DeRidder, LA, Michael Watson and wife Carla of Sulphur, LA, and Paul Watson and Brandice Hall of Lake Charles, LA; brother, Audrey Ashworth and wife Jessica of Anacoco, LA; sisters, Marie Stewart of DeRidder, LA, Lester Boudreaux of Deridder, LA, and Juanita Lewis of Huntsville, TX; 7 grandchildren, Derik, Erika, Cassie, Lacie, Mitchell, Shawn, and Conner; 11 great grandchildren; and a host of loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Watson; parents, Frank and Hazel Ashworth; brothers, Ruben, JT, Edward, and Douglas M.C. Ashworth; sister, Dorothy Cooper.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 30, 2015 from 6:00pm until 10:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral service is Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 10:00am at Providence Baptist Church in Rosepine, LA. Burial will follow at John C. White (Providence) cemetery in Rosepine. Rev. Arlen Smith will officiate.

James Tucker
September 22, 1931 - March 27, 2015
James Howard Tucker, 83 of Bivens, LA, passed from this life on Friday, March 27, 2015.

He is survived by his sons, Ricky Tucker, Doug Tucker, and David Tucker, daughter, Debbie Pool and husband Jack; grandchildren, Eric Tucker and wife Tina, Nicole Tucker, Tessa Gungor and husband Tunc, Ryan Tucker, Aimee Puryear and husband Bryan, Cody Tucker, Cheyenne Williams and husband Robby; great grandchildren, Reagan, Lucas, Jordan, Madison, Caroline, Bryson, Remi, and Caroline T; brother, Thomas Tucker; sisters, Shirley Erwin, Tina Crouch, Carolyn Lyons, Sue Nipper and Johnnie Ainsworth.

Mr. Tucker was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Minnie Ola Lognion; wife, Freddie Franks Tucker; son, James Howard Tucker, Jr.; brothers, Bobby, John L., and Glenn Tucker; sister, Dee Mobbs.

Visitation will be held Sunday, March 29, 2015 from 6:00pm until 10:00pm. Services will be held Monday, March 30, 2015 at 2:00pm all at Boxwood Church of Christ, Bivens, LA. Bro. Ray Hyatt will officiate. Burial will follow at Bivens cemetery in Bivens, LA.
