Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Denise Tracy Ashworth; sons, Wardell Gary and wife Stacy, and William Gary and wife Elizabeth; daughters, Sparkle Webster and husband Kevin, and Brandee Duncan and husband Alton; goddaughter, Florence Dew; brothers, Glen Ashworth, Alvin Ashworth, Larry Ashworth and wife Patricia, Randy Ashworth and wife Celia, and Kerry Ashworth and wife LaVonda; sisters, Kathy Lewis and husband Edward, twin sister, Paula Fulford and husband Michael, and Vanessa Mazyck and husband William; brother-in-law, Tim Tate; sisters-in-law, Monjay Acquistapce, and Regina Davis; 19 grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, friends, and family. He was preceded in death by his father, Archie Ashworth; and mother, Florine Williams Ashworth.
Visitation and Funeral service will be held Monday, August 17, 2015 at St. Mary Church of God in Christ in DeRidder. Visitation will begin at 10:00am with funeral services beginning at 11:00am. Elder Kerry Ashworth and Rev. Wilfert Williams will officiate. Burial will follow at Spikes cemetery in Bancroft, LA.

Gennie Leon Gantt Sr., 67, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Tuesday, August 11, 2015. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Natha Gantt; son, Gennie Leon Gantt Jr. and wife Heather of Winter Garden, FL; daughters, Carol Gantt of Decatur, GA, and Clarissa Gantt of DeRidder, LA; brother, Billy Gantt and wife Pamela of Gary, IN; grandchildren, Gennie “Trey” Leon Gantt III, Sawyer Gantt, and Kyran Staves. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gennie and Johnnie Mae Gantt; and grandparents, John and Lula Mae Stevens.
Visitation will be held Monday, August 17, 2015 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Star of Bethlehem Baptist Church in DeRidder, LA. Funeral service will be Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at 11:00am at Star of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Beauregard cemetery in DeRidder. Rev. Keith W. Stevenson will officiate.
Ray L. Coody
March 23, 1931 - August 11, 2015
Ray L. Coody, 84, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 in Lake Charles, LA. Ray was married
to Jean for 63 years. He cherished his marriage, and his love for their 4 children. Ray never met a stranger. He simply made friends wherever he went. He had a long, fruitful career at the DeRidder paper mill. Upon retirement, Ray found himself bored with down time and proceeded to return to active work life and interaction with coworkers until a month prior to his death.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Melba Jean Coody; sons, Monte Joe Coody and wife Starla of Singer, LA, and Michael Wayne Coody and wife Cheri of Hallsville, TX; daughters, Donna Rae Lungrin and husband Bobby, and Ronda Kay Blackmon and husband Troy all of DeRidder, LA; sisters, Sena Theall and husband John of Lake Charles, LA, Doris Reeves of DeRidder, LA, and Earline Coody of Dayton, TX; 16 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren; and countless unrelated “grandchildren” who adopted Paw Paw. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lemuel and Lila Mae Coody; brother, Doyal Coody; and sister, Mildred Freeman.
Visitation will be held Thursday, August 13, 2015 from 11:00am until 9:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder. A visitation will also be held Friday, August 14, 2015 from 9:00am until 10:00am at New Life Baptist Church in DeRidder, with Funeral Service at 10:00am. Burial will follow at Cooper cemetery in DeRidder. Pastor Vic Warrick and Pastor Kennis Smith will officiate.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2015, at 2PM at Calvary Baptist Church in Merryville, LA. Burial will follow in Cannon cemetery in Merryville, LA. Bro. Jim Miers will officiate.
Gabriel Tyler
July 5, 1965 - August 6, 2015
Gabriel Tyler was born July 5, 1965 in Lake Charles, LA. Gabriel was loved by everyone. He worked as a trailer mover and a nurse in Texas and a logger. He worked in the Westwood Manor Nursing Home. He will be missed by all. He loved to cook, and party. He loved helping people and taking care of their children.
Those left to cherish his memory are 6 sons, 2 daughters; aunt, Gladys Brazzle; stepfather, Jimmy Maxie; 11 sisters; 8 brothers; and brother, Robert Gray and sister, Tawana Gray on his mother’s side; 4 aunts; 2 uncles; a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Johnny Mae Tyler, and father, Charlie Tyler; grandmother, Laura Samuel; 3 uncles.
