Those left to cherish her memory are: sons: Robert Allen Giles, Sr. and Wife Toni of DeRidder, LA, Anthony Wayne Giles and Wife Janet of Merryville, LA; daughters: Carla Jeanette Slaydon and Husband Wayne Jr. of DeQuincy, LA, Elizabeth Ann Trabue and Husband Edwin Keith of Mittie, LA, Lisa Lavonia Wilson of DeRidder, LA, brothers: Leonard Cooley and Wife Loretta of Gardner, LA, John Foshee and Wife Dorothy of DeRidder, LA, sisters: Mary Genuso of Hemphill, TX, Mildred Vivano of Trenton, NJ, Cheryl Galloway and Husband Tommy of DeRidder, LA, 20 Grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Robert Louis Giles, parents: John and Dixie Foshee, and son-in-law: Travis Elvin Wilson, Sr.
Ms. Giles loved taking care of the elderly. She loved to travel and lived life to the fullest!
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 29, 2012 from 10:00AM – 9:00PM at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Service will be held at Myers Colonial Funeral Home at 10:00AM on Tuesday, October 30, 2012. Burial will follow at Newlin cemetery in Singer, LA. Bro. Bobby Slaydon will officiate.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at 2:00pm at Merryville cemetery in Merryville, Louisiana.

Peggy Lynn Freeman, 58, of DeRidder, Louisiana, passed from this life on Tuesday, October 16, 2012.Peggy was born June 18, 1954 to Doris Major and Leonard Freeman Sr. (L.C) in Beauregard, LA. Peggy graduated from Cashmere High School in 1974. She was employed by Centennial Wireless until 1999.
Those left to cherish her memory are, her special companion, Albert Roland Cooksey; daughter, Sonja Powers (Clayton Powers); son, Carey Freeman; mother, Doris McDonald; brothers, Leonard Freeman, Leo McDonald and Anthony McDonald. She is survived by 9 grandchildren, Andrew, DeSondra, Shenequa, Clasha, Clayton Jr. Carey Jr. Terry, Naomi and Noah; one great grandchild, Micquel and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins.She was preceded in death by her father, Leonard Freeman Sr., step-father, Woodrow McDonald Jr. and sister, Sharon Freeman.Peggy enjoyed socializing with friends and family. She was a devoted companion, mother, daughter, grandmother and great grandmother.She will be missed.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2012 from 12:30pm to 2:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral services are on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 2:00pm also at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home. Burial followed at Beauregard cemetery in DeRidder, LA. Rev. Alvin Peters officiated.

Willie Edd Rogers, 64, of DeRidder, Louisiana, passed from this life on Tuesday, October 16, 2012.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Abigail Rogers; son, Heath Rogers and daughter, Carla Rogers both of South Carolina and stepson, Albert R. Cooksey Jr. of DeRidder, LA; four brothers and five sisters and a host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Hester Rogers; stepdaughter, LeeAnna Cooksey; sister Vivian Diane Rogers and brother-in-law, Harold Ray Jackson.
Visitation will be on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Sweet Home Baptist Church in DeRidder, Louisiana from 9:00am until time of service at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Beauregard cemetery in DeRidder. Rev. Freddie Thomas Jr. will officiate.

Willie Faye “Jane” Jeane, 83, of Leesville, Louisiana, passed from this life on Monday, October 15, 2012. Willie was a member of Canaan Baptist Church. She liked the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, sewing, crocheting and just a little bit of everything.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, John Dewey Jeane Jr. and James Edgar “Bit” Jeane and wife Brenda Lea all of Leesville, LA; daughters, Alfa Chaney and husband Jimmy of Leesville, LA, Robbie Jordan and husband Roger of Burrs Ferry, LA and Melissa Ann Jeane of Leesville, LA; brothers, Louis Jones of Baton Rouge, LA and William H. Jones of Simpson, LA; sister, Ethel Lanier of Birmingham, AL; 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Dewey Jeane Sr.; parents, James Thomas and Gladys Lambert Jones; brothers, Kenneth Jones, Thomas Jones and JamesPaul Jones; sisters, Annie Dowden and Ruth Parker; grandsons, Thomas Jeane and James David Chaney.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at 10:00am also at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Burrs Ferry cemetery in Burrs Ferry, LA. Bro. Marilyn Baggett Clay, 50, of Leesville, Louisiana passed from this life on Thursday, October 4, 2012. She was born on November 12, 1961 to the proud parents of Oscar and Mary Baggett. She was a native of DeRidder, LA. and was a resident of Leesville, LA. She accepted Jehovah at an early age. She attended DeRidder High School. She met her husband, Douglas Clay of Houston, TX in 1985 and they were married
on April 16, 1990.
She is survived by her husband, Douglas E. Clay of Leesville, La; brothers, Oscar (Betty) Baggett of DeQuincy, LA, Jo-Nathan (Carrie) Baggett of Austin, TX, John (Jerryfine) Baggett of DeRidder, LA, Keith Baggett of Austin, TX and Jeff Baggett of DeRidder, LA; sisters, Sheila (Andrew) Mayes and Carolyn (Joe) Jackson all of DeRidder, LA; brothers-in-law, Walter (Wanda) Clay of Houston, TX and Jerome (Pam) Livingston of Claxton, GA; sisters-in-law, Brenda (John) Duncan of Houston, TX, Sharon Clay of Houston, TX and LaKetha Hartfield of Monroe, LA and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary D. Baggett, father, Oscar Baggett Sr., sister, Charlotte A. Baggett and brother, Roger R. Baggett.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2012 from 9:00am until 11:00am at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. with funeral services beginning at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Beauregard cemetery. Elder Oscar Baggett will officiate.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Judy Carlson and husband Donald Sr. of Merryville, LA; grandsons, Corey, Colby, Craig and Brandon Carlson; great granddaughters, Katelyn Carlson and Jada Eaves; great-great grandson, Caiden Carlson and brother-in-law, Wilbur Garner of Roanoke Rapids, NC.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Dollie Wood Riddle; father, Ernest Stonewall Riddle;
sisters, Shirley Garner and Eloise Wilson.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 10:00am at Beauregard cemetery in DeRidder, LA.

February 14, 1924 - October 1, 2012
Jack Dempsey Cochran, 88, of Merryville, Louisiana, born on Feb. 14, 1924, passed from this life at his home on Monday afternoon, October 1, 2012. Jack was a farmer and was also employed with Arco Oil and Gas as a mechanic for 38 years having retired in 1984. His hobbies were fishing, gardening and he was always interested in the oil exploration in and around Merryville. His greatest love was his family and especially his children and grandchildren.
The family expresses their deepest appreciation to the nurses and staff of 2 Tower and 8 Tower of Memorial Hospital in Lake Charles for their excellent care of Jack this past summer. A special thank you to Denise Sweet, his Home Health Nurse for the many times she came to care for him on her own time. Thank you to Myers-Colonial Funeral Home for their special care-Hardy and Jerry Day, especially.

Mohney of Merryville, LA, Melvin W. Lord of DeQuincy, LA; granddaughters, Charlene, Shelley, Heidi and Lesi; grandsons, Shannon Metcalf and Jimmy (Mohney) Anderson; 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Ezra and Ila Cochran, six sisters, 2 brothers and two grandsons.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 from 6pm until 9pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at 11:30 am at First Baptist Church in Merryville, LA. Burial will follow at Meadows cemetery in Merryville. Rev. Durhl Davis and Bro. Dale Cucancic will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
