Funeral services for Mrs. Jessie Bounds Morrison Brewer, age 90, will be held Friday, September 30, 2011 at 1:00 PM in the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, Cotton Valley, LA, with Rev. Bill Lott officiating. Interment will follow in Rocky Mount Cemetery, Rocky Mount, LA under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Cotton Valley, LA.

Visitation will begin Friday at 12:00 PM until time of service.

Mrs. Brewer was born April 21, 1921 in Cotton Valley, LA to William Joe and Nannie Mae Rabb Bounds, Sr and passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2011 in Dubach, LA. She was a resident of Ruston and a former resident of Houma, LA for 50 years. Mrs. Brewer was of the Baptist faith and was a homemaker.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Leslie Morrison Colvin and husband, Mark of Dubach, LA, Samuel Michael Morrison and wife, Cathy of Spartanburg, SC; step-daughter, Maurine Lacy Brewer Ries and husband, Tim; step-grandchildren, Joey Albeanese, Maurine Albeanese, Licia Albeanese, Charles Ries; great grandchildren, Jolee Verret McAbee, Natalie Verret, Michael James Morrison; a great great grandchild, Jonathan Verret and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Brewer was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, S. R. “Jack” Morrison, Frank Brewer; son, James Logan Morrison; step-son, Frank Brewer II; four brothers and three sisters.

Pallbearers will be Samuel Michael Morrison, Joe Bounds, Jeff McAbee, Michael Morrison, John Mark Colvin and David Ambrose.

Mitchell Sean English
(April 21, 1972 - October 31, 2011)

Funeral services for Mr.Mitchell Sean English, age 39, will be held Thursday, November 3, 2011, at 10:00 am in the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, Haynesville, LA, with Bro. Rodney Gray officiating. Interment will follow in New Ramah Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Haynesville.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 02, 2011 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Funeral Home.

Mitchell was born on April 21, 1972 in Haynesville, LA and passed away on Monday, October 31, 2011 in Homer, LA. He is survived by his daughter, Alyssa Loreana English; son, Mitchell Wade English both of Haynesville, LA; mother, Linda Sneed and husband, Charles "Bo" of Haynesville, LA; father, Gary English and wife, Tommye Jane of Homer, LA; grandmother, Susan Copeland of Haynesville, LA; step-sisters, Rebecca Lynn Montgomery and husband, Billie of Shongaloo, LA, Connie Lynn Gray of Magnolia, AR; step-brother, Charles "Bubba" Sneed of Shongaloo, LA. Mitchell was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Don Ivan and Anna Rhea Rabb and paternal grandparents, Harris and Lavern English.

Pallbearers will be Billie Montgomery, Ryan Beavers, Charles Sneed, Troy Gilbert, Shannon McDaniels, Lee Mills, Cody Lowrey, and Gary Clements.

Hazel McDaniel Melton
(Died November 5, 2011)

Funeral services for Hazel McDaniel Melton, age 98, will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, November 6, 2011 at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Silvey officiating. Burial will be in the Antioch East Cemetery, Magnolia, AR under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Haynesville, LA.

Visitation will be from 1:30 P.M. Sunday until service time at 3:00 P.M.

Mrs. Melton, a native of Magnolia, AR and a resident of this area for 62 years, died Saturday, November 5, 2011 in Homer, LA. She was a member of the Baptist faith and was a retired LPN with 25 years of service. She is preceded in death by her husband, Hervey Melton; her parents, Monroe Lee and Willie Belle Benefield McDaniel; three brothers and five sisters.

She is survived by a sister, Marilyn Norris of San Antonio, TX; eight nieces and nine nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jimmy Yates, Larry McDaniel, Eric McCurtain, Brannon West, David Perry and Ronnie McDaniel.

Doris Giles
(July 31, 1924 - October 22, 2011)

Funeral Services for Doris Giles, Age 87, will be held Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Plain Dealing Baptist Church where she was a long time member. Bro. Chad Hardbarger, assisted by Chaplin Keith Rowe, will officiate. Burial will follow at Plain Dealing Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Plain Dealing.

Visitation will be held Monday, October 24, 2011 from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.

Doris was born July 31, 1924 in Natchitoches Parish and was a long time resident of Plain Dealing. Surrounded by loving family, she went home to be with the Lord and her beloved son on October 22, 2011.

She was preceded in death by parents, William and Mary Bustamento; son, Thomas Ray Furqueron; Sisters, Janice Bustamento, Connie Wilson, Irma Frazier, Evelyn Toby, and Gussie Sanchez; Brothers, Ruben, Bill, and Charles Bustamento.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 58 years, Gene Giles; daughter Dianne Darnell and husband Tedd of Bedford, TX; son Donnie Giles and wife Gwen of Benton; grandchildren, Darren Darnell and wife Angela of Arlington, TX, Melissa Kappus and husband Stan of Grapevine, TX, Brian Furqueron and wife Tracy of Benton, Rachel Mason and husband Jason of Benton, Rhonda Meehan and husband Tom of Carrollton, Tx, Brad Tyra and wife Paige of Madison, MS; thirteen great-grandchildren; Brother, James Bustamento; Sisters, Bessie Toby, Berta Veuleman, Janette Colston; and numerous loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be her nephews.

While Doris' physical presence will surely be missed, her memory will live forever in the hearts of those who loved her.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of Whispering Pines Nursing Home and Southern Care Hospice for their care and dedication to the Giles family.

Graveside services for Mrs. Opal White Burns, age 91, will be held Friday, October 28, 2011 at 12:00 PM in Old Shongaloo Cemetery with Rev. Don McCormick officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Visitation will begin Friday at 11:00 AM until time of service at the Old Shongaloo United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Burns was born March 3, 1920 in Shongaloo, LA to J.R. and Mattie Lou Haynes White and passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2011 in Homer, LA. She was a lifelong resident of this area, a faithful member of Old Shongaloo United Methodist Church and a retired Webster Parish School Board Cafeteria worker of 17 years. Mrs. Burns was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her daughter, Betty Burns Lewis and husband, Bob of Haynesville, LA; son, James Michael “Mike” Burns and wife, Judy of Shongaloo, LA; nine grandchildren, Patrick B. Britt and wife, Stacia, Heather Lewis, Grant Lewis, Tammy Busch and husband, Chuck, Shelley Roark and husband, Mitchell, Brandon Lee Burns, Todd Frye and wife, Terri, Tim Frye; nine great grandchildren, Taylor, Tyler, Devin, Dade, Trey, Paxton, Cade, Chelsea, Sean; sisters, Thelia Mouser of Shongaloo, LA, Julia Ann Davis and husband, Sam of Houston, TX; brother, Bobby Gene White and wife, Emogene of Sarepta, LA and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Burns was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Pleasant Burns; daughter, Joyce B. Frye; grandson, Brad Britt; two sisters and four brothers.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons.

Graveside services for Mrs. Elizabeth Janet Sikes Dreher, age 76, will be held Friday, October 28, 2011 at 10:00 AM in Welcome Cemetery with Rev. Roy Dale Strother officiating. Interment will follow in Welcome Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Visitation will begin Thursday at 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Mrs. Dreher was born June 1, 1935 in Bastrop, LA to Allen Thomas and Ollie Mae Allums Sikes and passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2011 in Taylor, AR. She was a lifelong resident of this area and a homemaker.

She is survived by her sister, Margaret Carter and husband, John of Perkinston, MS and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Dreher was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred Dreher and sons, Allen Dreher and Fred Dreher III.
