Funeral services honoring the life of Mrs. Martha Gwendolyn Oglesby Adams, age 80, will be held Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 10:30 AM in the Bradley United Methodist Church with Rev. John Braden officiating. Interment will follow in Walnut Hill Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Visitation will begin Wednesday at 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Bailey Funeral Home.

Mrs. Adams was born July 21, 1931 in Smackover, AR to Lowman and Ophelia Oglesby and passed away Monday, October 24, 2011 in Bossier City, LA. She was a resident of this area, graduated from Stamps High School, Stamps, AR and Southern Arkansas University, Magnolia, AR and was a Real Estate Licensee. She taught school at Bradley High School, Plain Dealing Academy and also taught Sunday school at Bradley United Methodist Church. Mrs. Adams was a member of the Eastern Star, enjoyed camping, water and snow skiing and dancing. She loved her family and life.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Carl Adams; son, Carl Wayne Adams and wife, Gail; daughter-in-law, Connie Adams Bradshaw; granddaughters, Carlee Gwen Adams, Caitlyn Scott Adams, Tina Kay Adams; grandson, Chris Wayne Adams; numerous great grandchildren; one great great grandson and seven step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Chris Todd Adams, Scott Adams, Michael Adams and one great grandson, Jarred Adams.

Honoring Mrs. Adams as pallbearers will be Chris Adams, Austin Adams, Justin Spence, Joseph Dunlap, Adam Dunlap and Robert Bradshaw. Honorary pallbearer will be Michael Dunlap.

Ozela Hughes Haynes
(February 11, 1912 - October 21, 2011)

Funeral services for Mrs. Ozela Hughes Haynes, age 99, will be held Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at 2:00 pm in the New Era United Methodist Church, Emerson, AR with Dr. Charles Payne officiating. Interment will follow in Western Cemetery, Emerson, AR under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Visitation will be held Monday, October 24, 2011 at 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Mrs. Haynes was born on February 11, 1912 to Joe and Mattie Massey Hughes at Hot Springs, AR and passed away on Friday, October 21, 2011 in Bossier City, LA. She was a member of New Era United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years. Mrs. Haynes was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Magnolia Chapter and Stateline Home Demonstration Club. She was also a Co-Editor for the Taste of Home Magazine and was a homemaker. She is survived by daughters, Minnie Dell Morgan of Springhill, LA, Deva Nell Kilpatrick of Shongaloo, LA; daughter-in-law, Marzelle Haynes of Magnolia, AR; grandchildren, LaQueta Fields of Springhill, LA, Mickey Morgan and wife, Vera Zee of Mansfield, LA Retha Burnett and husband, Gerald of Shreveport, LA, Belinda Jennings and husband, Jimmy of Shongaloo, LA, Terry Joe Pearce and wife, Molly of Shongaloo, LA, Cindy Laurence and husband, Henry of Dubberly, LA, Jan Hutcheson and husband, Rick of Magnolia, AR, Loretta Rodriguez and husband, Luis of Asheville, NC, Paula Phillips and husband, Marty of Little Rock, MS, Jason Haynes of Fayetteville, GA; great-grandchildren, Christin Allison and husband, Phillip, Lauren Goldspiel and husband, Alan, Erin O'Daniel and husband, Shannon, Jennifer Gregory and husband, Sean, Jessica Jennings, Carolyn Laurence, Jennifer Gay, Shawn Fields, Douglas Brown, Jeffrey Jennings and wife, Kristy, Tony Pearce, Tyler Pearce, Jake Laurence, Caleb Hutcheson, Joel Hutcheson, Nick Rodriguez, Jon Rodriguez, Hunter Phillips, Jesse Phillips; step-granddaughter, Martha Gayle and husband, Jim; step-great grandchildren, Hilari Monk and husband, Mike and Zack Crawley; five great great grandchildren; Jack, Charlie, Laney, Milo, Parker; sister, Emma Jean Greer of Albany, OR and brother, Dan W. Hughes of Phoenix, AZ. Mrs. Haynes was preceded in death by parents; husband, Cary Haynes; son, Sammy Joe Haynes; sons-in-law, Joe Pearce, Jimmy Morgan, James Kilpatrick; brother, Elmer Hughes; sister, Verna Bateman and three other siblings.

Jean Craft
(June 12, 1942 - October 5, 2011)

Funeral services for Jean Craft, age 69, will be held Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 1:00 PM in Oak Grove Assembly of God Church with Rev. Lawrence Craft and Rev. Kent Craft officiating. Interment will follow in Plain Dealing Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Plain Dealing, LA.

Visitation will begin Friday at 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Bailey Funeral Home.

Mrs. Craft was born June 12, 1942 in Magee, MS to Burley and Lillian Parrish Craft and passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2011 in Shreveport, LA. She was a lifelong resident of this area, a member of Oak Grove Assembly of God Church and homemaker. Mrs. Craft was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by sons, Chris Craft of Haughton, LA, David Craft and wife, Connie of Minden, LA, Jody Craft and wife, Kimberly of Jonesboro, AR; grandchildren, Zachary Thompson, Jonathon Thompson, Matthew Craft, Ashley Craft, Will Craft, Amber Needham, Rachel DeLoach, Devin Craft; nine great grandchildren; sisters, Rosie Creel of Magee, MS, Dorothy Coker of Ft. Worth, TX; brothers, Doug Craft of Denton, TX, Mark Craft, Ricky Craft, Robert Craft, all of Magee, MS and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Craft was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence C. Craft; infant sons, Ricky and Mickey Craft and brother, Grayson Craft.

Pallbearers will be Will Craft, Matt Craft, Jonathon Thompson, Matt Edwards, Randy Hayes and Ricky Hayes.

Jewell Remore Lowrey
(November 11, 1914 - September 22, 2011)

Funeral services for Mrs. Jewell Remore Lowrey, age 96, will be held Sunday, September 25, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, Springhill, LA with Rev. Jeff May officiating. Interment will follow in Union-Sadie Cemetery, Marion, LA at 4:30PM under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Family will receive friends Sunday beginning at 1:00 PM until time of service.

Mrs. Lowrey was born November 11, 1914 in Sadie, LA to Bennie and Rutha Wallace Remore and passed away September 22, 2011 in Springhill, LA. She had been a resident of Taylor, AR for the past five years and a former resident of Bastrop, LA. She was a member of White Avenue Baptist Church of Bastrop, LA and a former clerk of Ft. Bend County, Texas.

She is survived by her son, Stacy Crumley and wife, Diane of Houston, TX; daughter-in-law, Faye B. Farrar of Taylor, AR; sister-in-law, Julia Deshazo; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Lowrey was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Lowrey; son, Harrell Wallace Farrar and brothers, Joseph Remore, Leo “Bennie” Remore and James A. Deshazo.

Pallbearers will be Mark Deshazo, Garland Shows, Shawn Williamson, Greg Milloway, Jonathan Ureta, Don Arrington, Blake Farrar and Marc Sposeep.

Lucy Frances Waugh Diehl
(August 24, 1909 - August 29, 2011)

Graveside services for Mrs. Lucy Frances Waugh Diehl will be held Thursday, September 1, 2011 at 10:00 AM in the Springhill Cemetery with a memorial service following at 11:00 AM in the Springhill United Methodist Church, 104 4th St. NW, Springhill, LA 71075, with Rev. Bill McLain officiating. Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA will handle arrangements.

Lucy Frances Waugh Diehl died on 8-29-2011. Lucy was born on 8-24-1909 in Sumner, MO to James Gilliam Waugh and Artie Smart Waugh. She met her husband-to-be, Donald DeWitt Diehl while in high school in Eureka Springs, AR. They both attended the University of Arkansas. Lucy later taught school in Eureka Springs and married DeWitt. They eventually settled in Springhill, LA, where she also taught school. She & DeWitt owned and operated Quality Cleaners for over 28 years. She was a faithful member of Springhill Methodist Church, singing in the Chancel Choir, and an active member of the Baxter Sunday School class. Lucy was a 75-year member of PEO.

Lucy relocated to John Knox Village in Lee’s Summit, MO in1999. She was a member of Country Club UMC and the Meriwed Sunday School class. She is survived by her daughter, Diana Nesbit and son-in-law, Raymond; a brother, Richard Waugh, Los Altos Hills, CA; two granddaughters: Nancy Laster and her husband Stan, Plano, TX, and Evelyn Nesbit, Lee’s Summit, and nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Sam Holladay, John Jackson, Charlie Park, Lon Park, Dr. Charles Payne, David Rhea, Johnny Ray McEachern and Ted Souter.

Family requests no flowers. Donations may be made to the church.

Funeral services for Mauva Dean McEachern, age 88, will be held Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at 1:00 PM in the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, Springhill, LA . Interment will follow in Old Shongaloo Cemetery, Shongaloo, LA under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Visitation will be Tuesday at 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Ms. McEachern was born March 12, 1923 in Springhill, LA to Lonnie L. and Alma Lennard McEachern and passed away Monday, August 15, 2011 in Springhill, LA. She was a lifelong resident of this area, was a homemaker and was a WW II US Navy veteran.

She is survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

Ms. McEachern was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Bobby R. McEachern and Lucious P. McEachern.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
