Demitri Stilu, 77

PUTNAM -- Demitri "Jim" Stilu, 77, of Punta Gorda, Fla., and Putnam, a World War II veteran, died Thursday, March 21, at home in Putnam after a long struggle with cancer.
His wife, Myrtle "Babe" (Chickering) Stilu, died last year. He leaves a son, Danny Stilu of Putnam; two daughters, Sheila Gough of Woodstock and Tami LaBelle of North Grosvenordale; a brother, Triani Stilu of Miami; a sister, Ruth Bates of Bonita Springs, Fla., and Thompson; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was born in Putnam, son of Tamy and Angela (Mila) Stilu, and graduated from the former Putnam Trade School. He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II, serving in China, Burma, and India. He served 28 years in the reserves, and retired from the U.S. Naval Reserve as a Seabee.
Mr. Stilu worked more than 25 years at American Optical Co., serving as a tool and die maker and senior manufacturing engineer.
He summered many years on Damariscotta Lake, Maine, and was a member and past commander of Putnam Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1523. He received awards for increasing membership.
He was a National Rifle Association-certified rifle and pistol instructor. In 1960 he was the Connecticut State Pistol Champion and was top shooter in the Worcester County Metropolitan League.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 23, in Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove St. Burial, with military honors, will be in West Thompson Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 23, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Northeastern Connecticut, PO Box 632, Putnam, CT 06260.
John P. Zaghi, 75

STURBRIDGE -- John P. Zaghi, 75, of Old Farm Road, a World War II veteran, died Wednesday, March 20, in Harrington Memorial Hospital, after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 36 years, Ramona (Spohn) Zaghi; a son, John M. Zaghi of Southbridge; a daughter, Jill M. McIntosh of Londonderry, N.H.; and three grandchildren. He was born in Bronx, N.Y., son of John M. and Lee (Netrosio) Zaghi, and lived in Sturbridge for the past 30 years. He graduated from Manhattan College and Nichols College. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Mr. Zaghi worked for many years at Raytheon Company, retiring in 1990. Before that, he worked for Galileo Electro Optic Corporation. He was a member of Hemlock Ridge Golf Course and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed restoring classic cars.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 24, in Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St., Southbridge. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. Donations may be made to Harrington Memorial Hospice, 61 Pine St., Southbridge, MA 01550.
Pasquale Fulginiti, 73; owned The Paxton Inn

PAXTON -- Pasquale W. "Pat" Fulginiti, 73, of Paxton, former owner of The Paxton Inn, died Thursday, March 21, in UMass Memorial Medical Center -- University Campus after an illness.
His wife of 44 years, Mary (Leland) Fulginiti, died in 1999. He leaves a son, Michael Fulginiti of Auburn and Wells, Maine; a daughter, Maria Millionis of Paxton; two brothers, Frank Fulginiti of Shrewsbury and William Fulginiti of Sarasota, Fla.; a sister, Catherine Fulginiti of Shrewsbury; a grandson; many nieces and nephews. A son, Steven Fulginiti, died in 1999. Three brothers, Samuel, Joseph, and Anthony Fulginiti and two sisters, Alice and Florence Fulginiti, all predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Pasquale and Maria R. (Lupisella) Fulginiti, and graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester. He graduated from the College of The Holy Cross in Worcester in 1952. He lived many years in Worcester before moving to Paxton in 1962.
Mr. Fulginiti owned The Paxton Inn in Paxton Center from 1977 until he retired in 1988, and had previously owned a pub/nightclub in Worcester from 1972 until 1978. He worked for more than 20 years with Boston Mutual Insurance Co., retiring as regional manager in 1972.
He was a member of St. Columba Church, and was a co-founder of The Indian Hill Association. He was a member of the Sons of Italy in America Lodge 168. He was active with Paxton Little League, and enjoyed gardening, skiing, and golfing.
The memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, in St. Columba Church, 18 Richards Ave. Burial of ashes will be in Moreland Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Leo J. Gautreau, 80

GARDNER -- Leo J. "Curly" Gautreau, 80, of 61 Lake St., died Thursday, March 21, in Quabbin Valley Health Care in Athol after a long illness.
He leaves a brother, Edmond J. Gautreau of Gardner; three nieces; three grandnieces and a grandnephew; a great-grandniece. A brother, Euclide "Eukee" Gautreau of Gardner, died in 1994. He was born in Amherst, Nova Scotia, son of William and Elise (Boudreau) Gautreau.
Mr. Gautreau was a machinist at the former Fitchburg Engineering Co. for 60 years, retiring in 1997.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, and was a former member of the Napoleon Club of Gardner. He enjoyed traveling and reading.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 23, from Boucher Funeral Home Inc., 110 Nichols St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Dorothy Brown, 81

BOLTON -- Dorothy (McAdoo) Brown, 81, of Bald Hill Road, Langdon, N.H., formerly of Harvard Road, died Sunday, March 17, in Cheshire Medical Center in Keene, N.H.
She leaves her husband of 58 years, Charles E. Brown; two sons, Harold E. Brown of Bolton and Dale L. Brown of Langdon, N.H.; a daughter, Carol J. Innamorati of Harvard; a sister, Berry NeVille of Bolton; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was born in Waltham, daughter of Harold A. and Emma (McAdoo) MacAdoo, and graduated in 1939 from Waltham High School. She later graduated from Boston Dental School of Nursing. She lived in Bolton most of her life, moving to New Hampshire five years ago.
Mrs. Brown was a dental hygienist in the Waltham area. She later worked for the town of Bolton, where she was appointed a special police officer, and was a school crossing guard, and a former secretary for the Bolton Police. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Alstead, N.H., and a former member of the Federated Church. She was a member of the Eastern Star, and organized and presented many 4H Club Horse Shows.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, in the Federated Church, 673 Main St. Burial will be in West Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Peter Consiglio, 36

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Peter "Chip" Consiglio, 36, of Daytona Beach, formerly of Worcester, Mass., died Thursday, March 21, in Daytona Beach.
He leaves his wife, Linda (Belil) Consiglio; his father, Peter Consiglio of South Daytona Beach; his mother, Janice Reidl of Brewster, Mass.; his paternal grandmother, Wilna Consiglio of Worcester; three brothers, Anthony P. Consiglio of Worcester, Kenneth R. Consiglio of Spencer, and Gino Consiglio of Boylston; several nephews and nieces. He was a Marine Corps veteran. He graduated from Worcester State College.
Mr. Consiglio was a motorcycle enthusiast, and enjoyed hiking and climbing. He attended Wesley Methodist Curch in Worcester.
The memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, in Cardwell & Maloney Funeral Home, Port Orange.
Claire D. DeAngelis, 74

SOUTHBRIDGE -- Claire D. (DeBlois) DeAngelis, 74, of 55 Westwood Parkway, died Monday, March 25, in Providence House Nursing Home, after an illness.
She leaves her husband of 49 years, Dino A. DeAngelis; a son, Gary D. DeAngelis of Watertown, Conn.; a brother, Armand DeBlois of Dudley; a sister, Lucille Pezzetti of Dudley; nephews and nieces. She was born in Southbridge, daughter of Henri J. and Mildred E. (Caron) DeBlois, and graduated from St. Mary's High School.
Mrs. DeAngelis worked at American Optical Co. before retiring. She was also a receptionist at Whitford Beauty Salon.
The funeral service will be private. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. SOUTHBRIDGE -- Georgette Denomme, 74, formerly of High Street, a former legal secretary, died Thursday, March 21, in Lanessa Health Care in Webster after an illness.
She leaves a brother, Wilfred "Norman" Denomme of Summerville, Fla., and Putnam; nephews and a niece. A sister, Priscilla Blanchette, predeceased her. She was born in Putnam, daughter of Wilfred and Bernadette (Dion) Denomme. She graduated from Tourtellotte Memorial High School in the North Grosvenordale section of Thompson, and from Worcester State College.
Ms. Denomme was a legal secretary and worked in several area law firms. She was a communicant of Notre Dame Church, where she served as lector for more than 30 years. She was a founding member of the Windham County Secretary Association.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, in St. Joseph Church, Main Street, North Grosvenordale. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in North Grosvenordale. There are no calling hours. Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove St., Putnam, is directing arrangements.

CHARLTON -- Lois (Cummings) Foskett, 67, of Caroll Hill Road, a former business co-owner and operator, died Sunday, March 24, in Grand Stand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Her husband, Charles C. Foskett, died in 1993. She leaves six sons, David A., Richard D., Jon D., Donald C., Gerry C. and Paul M. Foskett, all of Charlton; two daughters, Jacalyn Phelps of Murrells Inlet, S.C., and Paula Gauthier of Charlton; a cousin, Cathleen Kuehl of Charlton, whom she helped raise; two brothers, Dan and Richard Cummings, both of Charlton; three sisters, Audrey Hill of Port Orange, Fla., Judith Crowely and Mary Jane Gillespie, both of Charlton; 23 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. A son, Robert J. Foskett, died in 1993. She was born in Charlton, daughter of James and Bessie (Wolfenden) Cummings.
Mrs. Foskett, with her husband, owned and operated Seaside Cottages in Wells, Maine, until 1992. She was also secretary at Fairlawn Medical Clinic, Leicester. She was a member of Elm Street Congregational Church, Southbridge. She enjoyed traveling and reading.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 29, in Elm Street Congregational Church, Park and Elm streets, Southbridge. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 28, in Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St., Southbridge. HOPEDALE -- Thomas J. Walsh, 69, of Hill Street, a veteran of the Korean War, died Tuesday, March 26, in Milford-Whitinsville Regional Hospital, Milford.
He leaves his wife of 38 years, Catherine F. (McLelland) Walsh; two daughters, Bonnie M. Abimerhi of Mendon and Catherine Letendre of Hopedale; a brother, Joseph Walsh of Brighton; a sister, Marion Dailey of Dedham; five grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was born in Dedham, son of Joseph and Mary (Fitzgerald) Walsh, and lived there and in Canton before moving to Hopedale 13 years ago. He attended Dedham High School. He was a Coast Guard veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Walsh worked for the parts division of General Motors Corp. in Westwood before his retirement. Before that, he worked for the New York-New Haven Railroad in Boston for 10 years. He enjoyed sports and reading.
A funeral service with full military honors will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday, March 30, from Buma-Sargeant Funeral Home, 42 Congress St., Milford, with a Liturgy of the Word at 9 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, Hopedale Street. Burial will follow in Hopedale Village Cemetery, Mendon Street. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 29, in the funeral home. WORCESTER -- Juan F. Acosta, 79, of 109 Sears Island Drive, died Thursday, March 28, in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center.
He leaves his wife of 52 years, Stella (Ferreira) Acosta; a son, Carlos Acosta of Worcester; a daughter, Gladys Christiani of Worcester, five grandchildren; and a granddaughter. He was born in Uruguay, son of Juan C. and Indalesia (Leites) Acosta.
Mr. Acosta worked for 10 years at Digital Equipment Corp., retiring in 1989.
