Mary F. O'Malley, 80
Monday, April 08, 2002

CLINTON - Mary F. "Naya" (McNally) O'Malley, 80, of 11 Bolton Road, died Sunday, April 7, in Clinton Hospital after a long illness.

She leaves her husband of 58 years, Walter S. O'Malley; a daughter, Maryann Rymsza of Wilbraham; a son, Walter F. O'Malley of Stow; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. A grandson died in 1996. Five brothers, John, Austin, Thomas, William and James McNally, and a sister, Sara McMahon, also predeceased her. She was born in Clinton, daughter of William and Mary (O'Malley) McNally. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1940 and from Becker Junior College, Worcester, in 1942.

Mrs. O'Malley was a secretary for the town of Clinton at the Department of Public Works for 15 years before retiring. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church and the Ancient Order of Hibernians.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, April 10, from Robert J. McNally Funeral Home, 304 Church St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church, 80 Union St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Lancaster. Calling hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John's High School, 378 Main St., Shrewsbury, MA 01545.

Joan M. Parker, 65

UXBRIDGE - Joan M. (Todd) Parker, 65, of Rockmeadow Road, retired bank manager and director, died Thursday, April 4, at home.

She leaves her husband of 45 years, Earl R. Parker; a son, David E. Parker of Uxbridge; two daughters, Linda M. Bradley of Uxbridge and Laura Parker Roerden of Boston; a sister, Jacqueline Liberatore of Framingham; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A brother, Richard Todd, predeceased her. She was born in Marlboro, daughter of Richard and Romelia (Mailhoit) Todd, and graduated from Marlboro High School in 1955. She later lived in Mendon before moving to Uxbridge in 1967.

Mrs. Parker was vice president and branch manager of Savers Bank of Uxbridge, retiring in 1998. She had worked there 35 years, starting as a teller. She was the first woman to be named director of the bank.

She was a member of the Grange for 28 years, and was a member and past treasurer of First Evangelical Church of Uxbridge. She enjoyed traveling and bowling, and was a member of the Dirty Dozen Traveling Club.

The funeral service will be held at noon Tuesday, April 9, in First Evangelical Church, Court Street. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, April 8, in Buma Funeral Home, 101 North Main St. Instead of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or First Evangelical Congregational Church, c/o Paint Fund, Court Street, Uxbridge, MA 01569.

Pasquale Pizzuti, 80

LEOMINSTER - Pasquale Pizzuti, 80, of 212 Freight Shed Road, Baldwinville section of Templeton, formerly of Leominster, died Wednesday, April 3, in the Templeton Developmental Center in Baldwinville, after a long illness.

He leaves several nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Richard P. and John D. Pizzuti; and two sisters, Theresa A. Holman and Mary A. Redstone, predeceased him. He was born in Leominster, son of Allessio and Giacomina (Ferrara) Pizzuti, and had lived in Baldwinville since 1986.

Mr. Pizzuti worked in housekeeping at the Templeton Developmental Center.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 8, in St. Anna's Church, 194 Lancaster St. There are no calling hours. Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West St., is directing arrangements.

Eleanore R. Prior, 94

HEMET, Calif. - Eleanore R. Prior, 94, of Hemet, formerly of Douglas, Mass. and Mesa, Ariz., died Wednesday, April 3, in Cloverleaf Healthcare.

She leaves two daughters, Pamela Christian of Phoenix and Candace Christian of Hemet; four sons, Kendall Prior of Douglas, Keith Prior of Uxbridge, Russell Prior of Nampa, Idaho, and Bruce Prior of California; three sisters, Sarah Zech of Riverside, Calif. and Faustina Jones of San Fransico, and Margaret Wyman of Weymouth, Mass.; 28 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild. She was born in Woolrich, Maine, and lived in Whitinsville, Mass., and Douglas.

She was a homemaker and did volunteer work with Alzheimer's patients many years in Mesa, Ariz.

She was a member of Hemet United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star in Douglas.

The funeral and inurnment will be private. Harford Funeral Home, Hemet, is directing arrangements.

Angelo A. Scorzelli, 70
Sunday, April 07, 2002

MARLBORO - Angelo A. Scorzelli, 70, of 35 Short St., a variety store manager, died Friday, April 5, in The Willows, Westboro, after an illness.

He leaves two brothers, Pasquale L. Scorzelli of Leominster and Nicholas D. Scorzelli of Marlboro; three sisters, Rose A. Ciani, Anna M. Gleason and Josephine M. White, all of Marlboro; nephews and nieces. A sister, Rachael Scorzelli, predeceased him. He was born in Marlboro, son of Joseph and Pasqualina (Cerullo) Scorzelli, and attended Marlboro schools.

For the past 30 years, Mr. Scorzelli managed Marty's Variety Store in Hudson. During the 1960s, he owned and operated Bacon's Market on Bolton Street. During the 1950s, he worked at Mutual Shoe Co. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.

The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, from John P. Rowe Funeral Home Inc., 57 Main St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 8, in the funeral home. Flowers may be sent, or memorial donations made to American Diabetes Association, 40 Speen St., PO Box 1221, Framingham, MA 01701.

Robert W. Siart, 61

GARDNER - Robert W. Siart, 61, of 116 Church St., formerly of 190 Townsend St., Fitchburg, died Tuesday, April 2, in Henry Heywood Memorial Hospital, after an illness.

His wife of 39 years, Charlotte (Fiffy) Siart, died in 2000. He leaves two sons, Bruce W. Siart of Fitchburg and Brian S. Siart of Oahu, Hawaii; two daughters, Tina S. Boylan of Keene, N.H., and Rhonda J. Edmonds of Worcester; four brothers, Thomas, Rudolph and Zachary Siart, all of Fitchburg, and John Siart of Lunenburg; four sisters, Patricia Ide of Oakham, Rebecca Iannacconi of Westminster, Mary Vezina of Gardner and Deborah Robinson of New Jersey; and four grandchildren. He was born in Leominster, son of Robert and Elizabeth (Hamalainen) Siart, and graduated from Fitchburg High School. He lived in Fitchburg for 60 years before moving to Gardner last year.

Mr. Siart worked in the tool and die industry. He and his wife later owned and operated Park Variety in Fitchburg for 18 years. He was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist in Boston. He served on the board of directors and as a Sunday School Superintendent at the Christian Science Church in Fitchburg for several years. He enjoyed attending cultural events in and around Boston.

There are no services or calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity. Bosk Funeral Home, 85 Blossom St., is directing arrangements.

John M. Spencer, 66

WELLESLEY - John M. Spencer, 66, of Wellesley, formerly of Brookfield, died Monday, April 1, in Metro West Medical Center, Framingham, after a long struggle with multiple sclerosis.

He leaves his wife of 40 years, Diana (Davis) Spencer of Wellesley; two daughters, Abby Moffat of Bethesda, Md. and Kimberly Spencer of New Haven, Conn.; a brother, Clayton Spencer of Litchfield, Conn.; three sisters, Carolyn Means of San Anselmo, Calif., Virginia Giddens of New York City and Frances Michaelson of Annapolis, Md.; a stepmother, Virginia Grant; and two grandchildren. He was born in Hartford, Conn., son of Clayton and Frances (Means) Spencer. He graduated from Kingswood School, Trinity College and Columbia University.

Mr. Spencer taught history for more than 25 years. Later, he ran Elm Hill Farm in Brookfield, which was known for its prized Morgan horses and Jersey cattle. He served on several boards, including those of Old Sturbridge Village, Plymouth Plantation, and Eastern States Exposition. He was an active member of the Brookfield Rotary Club.

A memorial service will be held at Old Sturbridge Village at a later date. Donations may be made to the John Means Spencer Education Fund, Old Sturbridge Village, Sturbridge, MA 01566. Pillsbury Funeral Home, PO Box 238, North Brookfield, is handling local arrangements.

Charles E. St. Pierre, 83; owned Dery Steak House

STURBRIDGE - Charles E. St. Pierre Sr., 83, formerly of Sturbridge, died Thursday, April 4, in the Masonic Home in Charlton.

His wife, June L. (Best) St. Pierre, died in 1994. He leaves a son, Charles E. St. Pierre Jr. of Sturbridge; a stepson, Gary White of Sturbridge. A brother and a sister predeceased him. He was born in Salisbury, son of John and Evangeline (Tremblay) St. Pierre, and lived most of his life in Sturbridge. He lived for a time in Southbridge. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.

Mr. St. Pierre was a retired bridge painter, and was later a clerk at the X-tra Mart on Route 131. He also tended bar in the area, and was an original co-owner of the former Dery Steak House in Southbridge.

He was a member of Notre Dame Church and American Legion Post 109. He enjoyed gardening.

The funeral service will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jason Chamberland Memorial Fund, c/o Sturbridge Fire Department, Route 131, Sturbridge, MA 01566. Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy St., Southbridge, is directing arrangements.
