Bernadette M. 'Debbie' Martino, 63

Hopewell Junction, N.Y. ­ Bernadette M. "Debbie" Martino, 63, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999, at the Albany Medical Center, Albany.

She was the wife of Anthony L. Martino Sr.

Born in the Bronx, she graduated from Preston High School there.

She worked for the IBM Corporation in Poughkeepsie for 30 years as a manager of systems, retiring in 1998.

She was an Eucharistic minister at St. Columba Church. She was also very active in Cursillo.

Besides her husband, she is survived by four sons, Dominic A. Martino of Wappingers Falls, Anthony L. Martino Jr. of Centerville, Jeffrey A. Martino Sr. of New Paltz, and Robert A. Martino of Hopewell Junction; four brothers William J. Beyer, Jr. of LaGrangeville, Robert G. Beyer of Hawthorne, James V. Beyer of Poughquag and Warren Beyer of Ocala, Fla.; two sisters, Eileen A. DelGuidice of Yorktown and Anne Beyer of Fairlawn, N.J.; 13 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at the St. Columba Church, Hopewell Junction.

Memorial donations may be made to Cursillo, c/o Martha Santos, 11 Robert Burns Court, Middletown, N.Y. 10941 or to the Leukemia Society at Albany Medical Center, c/o Barbara Maloy, 47 New Scotland Ave., Albany, N.Y. 12208.

George D. Moore, 84

Centerville ­ George D. Moore, 84, a retired power transmission engineer, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, at Cape Cod Hospital, Hyannis.

He was the husband of Mary E. Moore for 57 years.

Raised in Everett, Mr. Moore and his family moved to Milton in 1949, where they lived for 35 years. He worked for the Lewis E. Tracy Co. in Boston for 46 years, retiring as a power transmission engineer.

After his retirement at age 68, he moved to Centerville, where he was a resident for 17 years.

Mr. Moore and his wife were members of the First Congregational Church of Milton, where they were active in church functions, especially with the children. They were also members of the South Congregational Church in Centerville.

One of his greatest joys was when he served as Cub Scoutmaster and met at the Milton Hospice Club.

Surviving besides his wife are two sons, George Calvin Moore of Hanover and Richard Otto Moore of Jackson, N.J.; a sister, Dorothy Galante of Medford; a brother, Ebben Moore of Everett; and four grandchildren.

He was also the father of Russell Dwight Moore, who died in 1965.

A graveside service was held in Milton Cemetery.

Mildred W. Osborn, 81

Hyannis ­ Mildred W. (Parks) Osborn, 81, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.

She was the wife of the late Ralph B. Osborn.

Born in Worcester, she was a graduate of North High School and Becker Junior College in Worcester.

Mrs. Osborn worked in the family business, E.W. Parks Co.a leather processing company in Worcester until her retirement in 1981. She then moved to Hyannis from her home in Boylston.

She was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church in Osterville and the Business Women's Association in Worcester.

Mrs. Osborn enjoyed traveling and fishing.

She leaves a son, Richard E. Osborn of Holden; a daughter, Judith Saulnier of Hyannis; five granddaughters; 9 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to the United Methodist Church, 57 Pond St.Osterville, Mass. 02655.

Burial was in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.

Elizabeth G. Sabetta, 90

Derby, Conn. ­ Elizabeth G. Sabetta, 90, who leaves family on the Cape, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999 in Griffin Hospital.

She was the wife of the late Andrew J. Sabetta.

Born in Shelton, Conn., she was a Derby resident most of her life.

She is survived by two daughters, Marilyn Rallo and Shirley Kenney, both of Marstons Mills; six granddaughters; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in St. Mary's Church. Burial was in Mount St. Peter's Cemetery.

Walter E. Struble III, 44

Hyannis ­ Walter Edward Struble III, 44, an emergency medical technician, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1999, in Wareham.

Born in Cambridge, Mr. Struble attended Notre Dame High School in Cambridge. After high school, he moved to the Cape, where he was a summer police officer in the town of Bourne and attended EMT training at Massachusetts Maritime Academy.

From 1973 to 1976, he served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard as a military policeman.

Mr. Struble worked as an EMT in the Emergency Room at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis in the late 1970s and early 1980s. During the mid-1980s, he worked for the Barnstable County Sheriff's Department.

In the late 1980s, he moved to the Quincy area and worked at the Carney Hospital in Boston. He suffered from complications of diabetes and returned to the Cape in 1998.

He also enjoyed fishing.

Surviving are a son, Chad Struble of Marstons Mills; and three sisters, Dottie Donahue of Marlboro, Arlene Martin of Hyannis and Elaine Munroe of Somerville.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Margaret's Church in Buzzards Bay. Burial was private.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 7 Washington Square, Albany, N.Y. 12205.

John J. 'Johnny' Aylmer, 87

Centerville ­ John J. "Johnny" Aylmer, 87, a lifelong Barnstable resident, died Nov. 22, 1999, at the Cape Regency Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Centerville.

He was the husband of the late Vina M. (Norris) Aylmer.

A Cape native, Mr. Aylmer was a well-known football, basketball and track participant at Barnstable High School and the New Hampton Preparatory School.

Mr. Aylmer was a caretaker for many years in Osterville at Port Fortune Farms, owned by the Hinkle family. He was the owner and operator of the Garden City Taxi Co. in Osterville and Hyannis Taxi Co. and was a resident dispatcher for 25 years at the Centerville Fire Station until retiring from the C-O-MM Fire Department in 1990.

During World War II, Mr. Aylmer enlisted in the Navy and served as an aviation ordnance mate, both at sea and on shore. Upon his return from military service, he helped establish the Osterville Veterans Club and a post-war semi-pro football team known as The Barnstable Townies, participating as a player and successful player-coach.

Surviving are two daughters, Ruth T. Appleton of South Yarmouth and Patricia M. Packer of Centerville; two sons, John F. Aylmer of Centerville and Myles N. Aylmer of Hyannis; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at Our Lady of Victory Church in Centerville. Burial followed in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Centerville.

Ernest J. Bergstrom Jr., 79

South Yarmouth ­ Ernest J. Bergstrom Jr., 79, died Thursday, Nov. 25, 1999, at his home of lung cancer.

He was the husband of Irene M. (Kimball) Bergstrom.

Mr. Bergstrom was born in West Barrington, R.I. He was raised in Cochesette and graduated from Oliver Ames High School in West Bridgewater. During World War II, he served in the Navy as a 2nd class petty officer aboard the USS Yorktown.

He was the co-owner and operator of Bergstrom Auto Body in Watertown and Acton for more than 50 years and during that time he also operated Bergie's Antiques. He was an avid collector of antiques, especially Moxie memorabilia and was a former Elk.

Mr. and Mrs. Bergstrom were Cape summer residents for 44 years. They moved here permanently from their home in Westwood in 1997.

In addition to his wife of 57 years, Mr. Bergstrom is survived by two sons, William M. Bergstrom of West Yarmouth and Karl E. Bergstrom of Fort Myers Beach, Fla.; three daughters, Bonnie Main of Dennis, Donna Harney of South Yarmouth and Linda Fanning of Dennisport; a brother, Howard Bergstrom of Centerville; a sister, Dena Curtin of Suisun City, Calif; 12 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Cape Cod, 923 Route 6A, Yarmouthport, Mass. 02675.

Lt. Col. John P. Chervenak, 70

Barnstable ­ Lt. Col. John P. Chervenak, 70, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 1999, at Hospice House in Barnstable after a long illness.

He was the husband of Marilyn (Mullen) Chervenak for over 45 years.

Born in Hazelton, Pa., Col. Chervenak moved to Jamaica, Queens, N.Y., and graduated from Jamaica High School. He graduated from Union College in Schenectedy, N.Y., in 1950. Following graduation, Col. Chervenak joined the Air Force.

During his 28 year career he served during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. While serving in Vietnam, he flew reconnaissance missions in RF4 Phantom aircraft. Col. Chervenak was discharged from Shaw Air Force Base in Sumpter, S.C., in 1978 and retired to West Falmouth.

The manager of the Otis Air Force Base Golf Course Pro Shop in Bourne for 12 years, he retired, due to illness, in October 1999. He was an avid golfer.

Besides his wife he is survived by three daughters, Lisa Cmerek and Lindsay Chervenak, both of Austin, Texas , and Leslie Pearson of Dripping Springs, Texas ; a son, John A Chervenak of Hamden, Conn.; a brother, Richard P. Chervenak of Avon, Conn.; six grandchildren; three nieces; and a nephew.

He was also the father of the late Jon Eric Chervenak.

A funeral service with military honors was held in the Base Chapel of the Massachusetts Military Reservation, Bourne. Burial followed in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.

Antonio Germaine Jr., 65

Attleboro ­ Antonio Germaine Jr., 65, who leaves family on the Cape, died Monday, Nov. 22, 1999, at Norwood Hospital.

He was the former husband of Phyllis (MacDonald) Germaine.

Born in North Attleboro, Mr. Germaine lived in North Attleboro and Florida for many years before moving to Attleboro.

Mr. Germaine was a Korean War Air Force veteran and worked for many years for the Cavalieri Construction Co. in North Attleboro until his retirement.

Surviving besides his former wife are six sons, James Germaine, Michael Germaine and Todd Germaine, all of Attleboro, Christopher Germaine and Thomas Germaine, both of Florida, and Anthony Germaine of Dennis; five daughters, Sheryl Fouraker of Florida, Lisa Germaine of West Yarmouth, Judy Lorange of South Yarmouth, Gina Eldredge of Virginia Beach, Va., and Melissa Scanlon of Hyannis; a brother, James Germaine of Florida; a sister, Mary Rollins of California; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Attleboro Falls.
