William M. 'Billy' Harmon, 42

West Barnstable ­ William M. "Billy" Harmon, 42, co-owner of Hyannis Toyota, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1999, at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.

He was the husband of Kathleen (Carey) Harmon.

Mr. Harmon was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and was a 1975 graduate of Concord High School. He lived in Boscawen, N.H., from 1981 to 1992 and was the general sales manager for Grappone Toyota from 1975 to 1992.

After moving to West Barnstable in 1992, he was the co-owner of Hyannis Toyota.

Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Erin E. Harmon of West Barnstable; two sons, Michael I. Harmon and Andrew C. Harmon, both of West Barnstable; four brothers, Jerry Harmon of Manati, P.R., Thomas Harmon of Rapid City, S.D., John Harmon of Concord, N.H., and Richard Henderson of Shepard Air Force Base, Texas ; a sister, Dianne Blodget of Bow, N.H.; a stepfather, Perley Henderson of Concord, N.H., and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Monday at the Immaculate Conception Church, Penacook. Burial followed in Calvary Cemetery, Penacook.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, Research, 20 Speen St., Framingham, Mass. 01701.

Candace L. 'Candy' Kinshaw, 55

Hyannis ­ Candace L. "Candy" (Hathaway) Kinshaw, 55, a residential instructor on Cape Cod, died Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, at the West Barnstable Hospice after a long illness.

She was the wife of John Kinshaw.

Mrs. Kinshaw was born in Buzzards Bay and raised in Providence. She moved to California and graduated from Hollywood High School in 1962. She then attended the Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York.

Mrs. Kinshaw returned to California and later lived in Florida before returning to Cape Cod in 1979. She worked at Mary Jeans Restaurant in Hyannis while continuing her education at Cape Cod Community College and Bridgewater State College. She ultimately received a degree in psychology at the University of Massachusetts in Boston.

She enjoyed a career as a residential instructor for NERS, a regional agency which helps developmentally disabled adults and often spent her days off taking residents on outings.

An enthusiastic dancer, Mrs. Kinshaw enjoyed travel and spending time on the beach. She also loved reading and the arts and was happy to debate or speak on such issues as philosophy, world religions and politics.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Morgan and Jennifer Kinshaw, both of Hyannis; a son, Shane Casey of Vermont; three brothers, Brian Hathaway of Hyannis, Arthur Hathaway of California and J. Barry O'Rourke of Connecticut; and two grandchildren.

Burial was in the Oakland Grove Cemetery in Bourne.

Donations may be made to Hospice of Cape Cod, 923 Route 6A, Yarmouthport, Mass. 02675.

Richard L. Koppen, 66

West Barnstable ­ Richard Louis Koppen, 66, died Thursday, Dec. 16, 1999, at his home after a long illness.

He was the husband of Judith (Lindelof) Koppen.

Born in Cambridge, Mr. Koppen was raised in Wellesley Hills and was a graduate of the Valley Forge Military Academy in Wayne, Pa. He also served in the Army and was stationed in Korea.

In 1954, he founded the Anchor Outboard Co. and continued to serve as president until the time of his illness.

Mr. Koppen was a former member of the Cape Cod Marine Trade Association. He was also an avid gardener and enjoyed boating and traveling.

Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Richard C. Koppen of Cotuit and William A. Koppen of West Barnstable; three daughters, Kimberley Koppen-Arsenault of Alaska, Katherine Woodbury of Cotuit and Cynthia Dennis-Sullivan of Cotuit; a sister, Marjorie Anderson of Laconia, N.H.; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were private.

Memorial donations may be made to the Hospice Association of Cape Cod, 923 Route 6A, Yarmouthport, MA 02675; or to the Visiting Nurse Association of Cape Cod, 434 Route 134, South Dennis, Mass. 02660.

Russell B. Lewis, 98

Hyannis ­ Russell B. Lewis, 98, died Friday, Dec. 17, 1999, at Cape Cod Hospital after a brief illness.

He was the husband of the late Ethel (Crowell) Lewis,

Born and reared in Osterville, Mr. Lewis graduated from Barnstable High School.

He worked for most of his life in the construction business. For more than 50 years he worked for the Jesse Murray Construction Co., later Farrington Construction. He worked at paving and driving school buses for the Barnstable School District.

He also enjoyed helping with auto mechanics in the evenings.

Mr. Lewis retired in 1983, then devoting himself to his life-long love of .operating a citizens band radio, using the handle "The Unknown." He belonged to several CB radio clubs.

He also enjoyed travel, visiting most of the contiguous United States.

Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth L. Alward of Hyannis; two sons, Richard B. Lewis of Hyannis and Russell B. Lewis Jr. of Snohomish, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held in Hillside Cemetery, Osterville.

Donations may be made in his memory to the Hyannis Rescue Squad, 96 High School Road Ext, Hyannis, Mass. 02601.

Rita R. Mainey, 81

Centerville ­ Rita R. (Ford) Mainey, 81, a resident of Centerville, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1999, at Cape Cod Hospital, Hyannis.

She was the wife of the late James E. Mainey.

Born in Providence, R.I., Mrs. Mainey was a graduate of Rhode Island College. She summered in Centerville for many years before moving there permanently 20 years ago.

She taught elementary school in Rhode Island for more than 40 years and was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church in Centerville.

Surviving are a daughter, Mary E. Robbins of Centerville; a sister, Theresa Gibbons of Greenville, R.I.; and four grandchildren.

Funeral and burial were private.

Memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Victory Church, 230 S. Main St., Centerville, Mass. 02632.

Donald A. Martin, 63

Attleboro ­ Donald A. Martin, 63, who leaves family on the Cape, died Monday, Dec. 13, 1999, at his home.

He was the husband of Micheline P. (Mercier) Martin.

Born in Taunton, Mr. Martin lived in Attleboro for the past 33 years,. Previously, he lived in Taunton. He was an accounting clerk for the Texas Instruments Co. of Attleboro for 40 years before retiring in March of this year.

Mr. Martin was a member of the Faith Alliance Church in Attleboro and a former member of the South Attleboro Rescue and the Attleboro Auxiliary Police. He was the past president of the Attleboro Little League and Southeastern Youth Baseball Association. He was also active in the Foster Parent program for many years.

An avid fisherman, he was a lover of country music. He published the Hank Williams fan magazine and was a contributing editor to several other country and western periodicals.

Surviving besides his wife are a son, Jay D. Martin of Attleboro; a daughter, Karen M. Tellier of Pawtucket, R.I.; a foster son, Bernard O'Reilly of Newton; two brothers, Richard Martin of Taunton and Joseph Martin Jr. of Marstons Mills; a sister, Violet Gonsalves of Taunton; two granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held at the Faith Alliance Church, Attleboro. Burial followed in the North Purchase Cemetery, Attleboro.

Rosemarie G. McKean, 71

Southwick ­ Rosemarie G. (Hoag) McKean, 71, who leaves family on the Cape, died Monday, Dec. 13, 1999, at Noble Hospital.

She was the wife of Roger W. McKean for 42 years.

Born in New York, Mrs. McKean lived for many years in Miami Beach, Fla., before moving to Southwick in 1961. She graduated from St. Patrick's High School and attended Barry College, both in Miami Beach.

Mrs. McKean was an active communicant of Our Lady of the Lake Church in Southwick. She was a Eucharistic minister, a member of the Rosary Society and a member of the church choir. She was also a Franciscan at St. Francis Chapel in Springfield.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her mother, Sarah (Provost) Hoag of Westfield; three sons, Thomas A. McKean of Centerville, James J. McKean of West Barnstable and Michael R. McKean of Southwick; a daughter, Marjorie E. Martin of Westfield; and three grandchildren.

A Liturgy of Christian burial was clelbrated in Our Lady of the Lake Church in Southwick. Burial was in New Cemetery, Southwick.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 1111 Elm St., Suite 9A, West Springfield, MA 01089; or to Our Lady of the Lake Church, 224 Sheep Pasture Road, Southwick, Mass. 01077.

Jeanne Menard, 87

Centerville ­ Jeanne (LaPlante) Menard, 87, a resident of Centerville, died Thursday, Dec. 16, 1999, at her home after a brief illness.

She was the wife of the late George H. Menard.

Born and educated in Taunton, Mrs. Menard worked as a stitcher at the former Taunton Dress Co. for 35 years until her retirement.

She was a former communicant of St. Jacques Church in Taunton.

Surviving are a brother, Pat LaPlante of Pompano Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Ella Ahonen of East Sandwich and Cecile LaPlante of Taunton; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at St. Jacques Church, Taunton.

Burial was in St. Francis Cemetery, Taunton.
