Bridget A. 'Bea' Moxley, 89
Watertown Bridget A. "Bea" (Dignan) Moxley, 89, a licensed practical nurse who leaves family on the Cape, died Sunday, Dec. 12, 1999, at the Emerson Convalescent Home in Watertown after a long illness.
She was the wife of the late M. John Moxley.
Born in Shraugh, Co. Mayo, Ireland, Mrs. Moxley was educated in Charlestown, Co. Mayo, Ireland, and came to the United States in 1928.
She was a resident of Watertown since 1940.
Mrs. Moxley was a licensed practical nurse since 1947 and received her training at the Waltham Hospital.
She was a supporter of the Shamrock Athletic Club which was founded by her husband.
She was a member of the Gold Star Mothers and Shamrock Athletic Club.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary V. Owen of Centerville; a son, John Patrick Moxley of Watertown; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was also the mother of Pfc. Richard S. Moxley (USMC), who was killed in action in Vietnam, and the late Nora Kuntzman and Thomas M. Moxley.
A funeral Mass was held in the Church of St. Patrick, Watertown.
Burial was in St. Patrick Cemetery, Watertown.

Preston J. O'Toole, 83
Centerville - Preston J. O'Toole, 83, a Cape resident since 1984, died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 1999, at the Cape Regency Rehabilitation and Nursing Center after a long illness.
He was the husband of Doris (Chace) O'Toole.
Born in New York, Mr. O'Toole was raised in Cliffside Park, N.J.
He was a 1933 graduate of St. Peters Preparatory High School, Jersey City, N.J., and attended Holy Cross College.
Mr. O'Toole owned his own insurance business from 1952 to 1964.
He moved to Paramus, N.J., in 1954 and was active in town government, serving the Borough of Paramus in three different capacities including elected town councilman from 1958 to 1963, elected tax collector/treasurer in 1964, and town administrator from 1975 to his retirement in 1981.
He and his wife moved to the Cape in 1984.
During World War II, he was a staff sergeant in the Army, serving in Europe in the Third Army commanded by General George S. Patton.
He was a member of the Paramus Lodge of Elks, Knight of Columbus, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Association of Municipal Administrators.
Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Kevin C. O'Toole of New Milford, N.J., and Preston J. O'Toole Jr. of Walpole; a brother, John O'Toole of Fairfield, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at Our Lady of Victory Church, Centerville.
Burial was in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Centerville.

Franklin Randlett, 68
Centerville Franklin Randlett, 68, a retired accountant, died Monday, Dec. 13, 1999, at his home following an illness.
He was the husband of Carol A. (Koelsch) Randlett since 1976.
Born and raised in Winchester, Mr. Randlett was a graduate of Melrose High School and went on to earn degrees from Northeastern University and Bentley College.
He also served in the Air Force during the Korean War.
Mr. Randlett was a longtime resident of Woburn before moving to Centerville after retiring from BioRad Labs of Cambridge in 1994, where he worked as an accountant for more than 14 years.
Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Michael F. Randlett of Centerville and James Randlett of Cambridge; and three daughters, Lynne A. Randlett and Mona A. Randlett, both of Oregon, and Kathryn L. Randlett of Florida.
Burial was private in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.

Marion M. Roach, 83
Manchester, N.H. Marion M. (Vokey) Roach, 83, formerly of Hyannisport, died Sunday, Dec. 12, 1999, at the Villa Crest Nursing Home after a brief illness.
She was the wife of Walter Roach, who died in 1985.
Born and raised in Arlington, Mass., Mrs. Roach was a graduate of Arlington High School.
She served in England during World War II in the Women's Army Corps.
Mrs. Roach and her husband were married while stationed in England in 1944 and lived in several states after moving back to the states after the war.
She retired to Hyannisport in 1964.
While living on the Cape, she was an active member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in West Barnstable.
She moved to Manchester in 1993 to be closer to her son.
She is survived by two sons, Stephen M. Roach of North Conway and Martin J. Roach of Portsmouth, Va.; four grandchildren; and a niece.
A funeral service was held at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, West Barnstable.
Burial followed in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
Bernard F. Roche
Fernandina Beach, Fla. - Bernard Francis Roche, 81, a Cape summer resident who leaves family in Hyannis, died Saturday, Dec. 11, 1999, at Chesapeake General Hospital in Virginia after a brief illness.
He was the husband of Yvonne (Bellisle) Roche, who died in 1998.
Born and educated in Boston, Mr. Roche summered on the Cape and wintered at his retirement home in Fernandina Beach.
During the first part of World War II, he was a firefighter attached to the Navy at Fort Point Channel.
It was from there, in 1942, he was dispatched to perform rescue operations at Boston's devastating Cocoanut Grove fire.
Later in the war, Mr. Roche entered the Navy's Construction Battalion, known as the Seabees, and served in the South Pacific, including on the atoll of Tarawa.
He was an extra in the 1944 motion picture, The Fighting Seabees, where he enjoyed meeting John Wayne.
When he returned to civilian life, Mr. Roche apprenticed as a plumber on the Cape.
He became a master plumber, working all over the country and was an instrumentation pipe fitter at several power plants including those in New Hampshire, Texas and Louisiana .
He also worked on the construction of the JFK Building in Boston.
He was a member of the Pipe Fitters Union Local 211, Houston, Texas , for 50 years, the Teamsters and a longtime member of the Hyannis Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mr. Roche enjoyed travel and sports, especially boxing.
He loved to draw and paint with oils.
He was also an avid photographer.
Surviving are a son, Eddie Roche of Chesapeake, Va.; a daughter, Alice Avola of Durham, N.C.; a sister, Grace C. Stewart of Hyannis; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A private service will be held at a later date in Beechwood Cemetery
in Centerville.
Izaura 'Hazel' Teixeira, 75
New Bedford Izaura 'Hazel' Teixeira, 75, formerly of Centerville, died Friday, Dec. 17, 1999, at St. Luke's Hospital, after a short illness.
Born in New Bedford, she became the owner of Flowers by Henry Teixeira in Hyannis, for 28 years.
She retired in 1987 and left the business to her nephew.
She is survived by five sisters, Beatrice Augustino of Whitman, Christina Barlow of East Freetown, Lucinda Dias, Mary Lou Soares and Alice Ramos, all of New Bedford; a brother, Joseph Teixeira Jr. of New Bedford; 18 nieces and nephews; and 21 great-nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Mary's Church, New Bedford.
