Alice M. Farrell, 94

Centerville - Alice M. (Barry) Farrell, 94, a resident of Centerville for four years, died at the Center for Optimum Care in Mashpee on Oct. 27, 2000, after a brief illness.

Mrs. Farrell was the wife of the late Joseph T. Farrell. She was born, raised and educated in Boston.

She also had been a resident of Dorchester, Hollywood, Fla., and had lived for 10 years in Stoughton, before moving to Centerville in 1996.

Survivors include three daughters, Dorothy McBride and Barbara Regan, both of Centerville, and Geraldine Hughes of Braintree; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Rudolph 'Rudy' Gomes Sr., 61

Hyannis - Rudolph S. "Rudy" Gomes Sr., 61, a longtime resident of Hyannis, died Oct. 16, 2000, at Our Lady's Haven in Fairhaven after a brief illness.

Mr. Gomes was born in New Bedford and lived in Fairhaven before moving to Hyannis in 1970. While living in Fairhaven, he was a parishioner of St. Joseph's Church.

He was employed by Cape Cod Hospital in housekeeping and maintenance for eight years, prior to his illness. Previously he was a self-employed sheetrock installer working with his brother, John Gomes.

Mr. Gomes enjoyed reading, gardening and Western movies.

He is survived by his mother, Elsie (Amado) Gomes of New Bedford; a son, Rudolph S. Gomes Jr. of Boston; three stepchildren; two brothers, John Gomes of Hyannis and Albert Gomes of New Bedford; two sisters, Mary Anna Galvao and Ida Almeida, both of New Bedford; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Catherine 'Kay' Gorman, 82

Marstons Mills - Catherine "Kay" (Beaulieu) Gorman, 82, a longtime resident of Marstons Mills, died Sept. 22, 2000, at the Royal Megansett Nursing and Retirement Home in North Falmouth.

Mrs. Gorman was born in North Attleboro and graduated from North Attleboro High School in 1936.

She retired as a buyer for Rike's (now Lazarus) in Dayton, Ohio, where she lived for many years. She was a member of the Millinery Institute in New York City.

Mrs. Gorman retired to Cape Cod in 1976, and was a longtime supporter of the Marstons Mills Library.

Surviving are two sons, L. David Gorman of Marstons Mills and Vero Beach, Fla., and Daniel J. Gorman of Dayton, Ohio; a daughter, Catherine G. Freeman of Reston, Va.; a sister, Lily M. Beaulieu of Narragansett, R.I.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Evelyn Gorski, 79

Wilmington, N.C. - Evelyn Gorski, 79, a former Cape resident, died Oct. 24, 2000, at the New Hanover Regional Hospital in Wilmington.

She was the wife of the late Walter Gorski.

Prior to moving to Wilmington, Mrs. Gorski lived in West Hyannisport and Milton, Mass.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Janice Gorski of Wilmington, with whom she lived; and two grandchildren, Timothy and Justin.

Services will be held at 4 p.m. Nov. 4 at the Myrtle Grove Presbyterian Church in Wilmington.

Bernard S. "Bernie" Holland, 64

Hyannis - Bernard S. "Bernie" Holland, 64, a Cape resident since 1987, died Oct. 25, 2000, at Cape Cod Hospital.

He was the husband of Marilyn E. Holland.

Born in Hartford, Conn., Mr. Holland lived in the greater Hartford area most of his life and previously had lived in Manchester, Conn., before moving to Hyannis in 1987.

Mr. Holland was a self-employed painter until his retirement. He was a former member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Manchester.

Surviving besides his wife are a son, William D. Holland of Hyannis; three daughters, Cheryl Ann Buckley of Connecticut, Debbie Jean Holland-Ferwerda of Coventry, Conn., and Penny Lynn Chapman of Bangor, Maine; a brother, William D. "Dave" Holland of Hebron, Conn.; two stepdaughters, Susan DeRosa of West Yarmouth and Christina DeRosa of Bridgewater; and four grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the St. Mary's Church Book of Remembrance, 41 Park St., Manchester, CT 06040.

Warren F. Jones, 85

Barnstable - Warren F. Jones, 85, an resident of Barnstable, died Oct. 16, 2000, at his home after an illness.

He was the husband of M. Lucille (Younts) Jones. Mr. Jones was born in Northampton and raised in Daytona, Fla., and Limerick, Saskatchewan, Canada. He graduated from Barnstable High School in 1933 and from the former Hyannis State Teachers College in 1939. He was a graduate student at Massachusetts Institute of Technology prior to serving in the Army Air Force during World War II. After the war he received his master's degree plus 30 from Bridgewater State Teachers College .

He began his teaching career in 1941 with the Onset public schools, teaching math and science. He worked for Wareham High School in 1949 and for Wareham Junior High School in 1950. In 1952 he began teaching at the Pilgrim Memorial School in Wareham, and in 1956 moved to teaching in the Chatham schools. He retired from teaching in 1979.

Mr. Jones was a member of the State Teachers Association, the National Education Association and the Barnstable County Teachers Association. He was a past member of the Barnstable Rod and Gun Club.

Surviving besides his wife are three sons, Warren T. Jones of Barnstable, Keith D. Jones of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Michael E. Jones of Hyannisport; two daughters, Sharon J. Lyon of Nashua, N.H., and Miriam J. Brickley of East Sandwich; and 10 grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the Hospice Association of Cape Cod, Route 6A, Yarmouthport, MA 02675.

Walter W. LeGrand, 79

Osterville - Walter W. LeGrand, 79, who retired to Osterville in 1985, died Oct. 23, 2000, at his home.

Born in New Haven, Conn., Mr. LeGrand was raised and educated in West Haven, Conn. He served with the Army in World War II.

He worked for the Knights of Columbus Insurance Company in New Haven, Conn. He retired to the Cape in 1985.

Mr. LeGrand is survived by a sister, Loretta McDonald of Osterville, and many nieces and nephews.

Frank Marshall, 82

Hyannis - Frank Marshall, 82, a resident of Hyannis, died Oct. 24, 2000, at Cape Cod Hospital after an illness.

He was the husband of Helen M. (Madden) Marshall since 1954.

Born in Rehoboth, Mr. Marshall was raised in Vineyard Haven and graduated from Martha's Vineyard High School. He joined the Army and served in Europe with the 82nd Airborne. He received a Purple Heart while in battle.

After World War II, he returned for a short time to the island and worked as a builder. He then moved to Hyannis and began working for the U.S. government at Otis Air Force Base.

Mr. Marshall also founded and managed a construction company. He built single-family houses for many years in the Hyannis area.

He was a member of the Hyannis Yacht Club for many years, and a member of the VFW Dennis F. Thomas Post 2578 and St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

Surviving besides his wife are a stepson, Leo Gildea of Osterville; a brother, Stanley Marshall of Vineyard Haven; a sister, Dorothy Carson of Ocala, Fla.; and two stepgrandchildren.

Anthony P. 'Tony' Meleski, 93

Millis - Anthony Paul "Tony" Meleski, 93, a resident of Millis and Hyannisport, died Oct. 23, 2000, at the Metro West Medical Center, Leonard Morse Campus, in Natick.

He was the husband of Ann (Kosciusko) Meleski for more than 64 years.

Born in Worcester, Mr. Meleski graduated from Classical High School in Worcester, attended Tufts University and graduated from Clark University.

Mr. Meleski worked as a psychiatric social worker for the Massachusetts Department of Corrections for more than 40 years. He was responsible for setting up psychiatric programs at both Norfolk and Walpole state prisons and also served as the parole administrator.

Active in the town of Millis, he served as the chairman of the Board of Appeals, was one of the founders of Dollars for Scholars and was a board member of the Council on Aging. He was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Millis, a Eucharistic minister and past president of the Holy Name Society and the St. Vincent de Paul Society. He was also responsible for compiling the parish history for the church's jubilee.

He enjoyed spending time on Cape Cod, was an avid Red Sox fan and loved to sing.

Surviving besides his wife are three daughters, Joan Kenney of Norfolk, Carol Dragun of Sudbury and Yarmouthport, and Mary Louise "Mame" Meleski of Centerville; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Paul G. Migneault, 58

Mashpee - Paul G. Migneault, 58, a resident of Mashpee, died Oct. 24, 2000, at Falmouth Hospital after a brief illness.

He was the husband of Roberta M. (Kuzmeskus) Migneault.

Born, raised and educated in Worcester, Mr. Migneault moved to the Cape, settling in East Falmouth in 1968. He moved to Mashpee in 1973.

He received an associate's degree from Quincy College and served in the Coast Guard Reserve from 1961 to 1967.

A 29-year employee of Gerber products, Mr. Migneault worked as a sales representative and account manager until retiring in 1998. He had worked for the past several years for Frito Lay Inc.

Mr. Migneault was the former owner of the Mini Golf Course on West Main Street in Hyannis. He was also a part-time builder and had owned Nicole's T-shirts.

An avid boater and rower, he loved boating on the Mashpee River and in Popponesset Bay. He was a member of World's Gym, where he was actively involved with the aerobics and yoga programs.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his mother, Sylvia (Chiuchiolo) Migneault of Worcester; a daughter, Nicole S. Migneault of Mashpee; a brother, Anthony Migneault of Dunbarton, N.H.; a sister, Rosalee Morales of Worcester; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dorothy S. Moore, 93

Hyannis - Dorothy S. (Seavey) Moore, 93, of Hyannis, died Oct. 19, 2000, at the Windsor Nursing Home in Yarmouth.

She was the wife of Horton M. Moore, who died in 1942.

Mrs. Moore was born in Rochester, N.H. She received a bachelor's degree from Plymouth, N.H., Teachers College, and a master's degree from Bridgewater State Teachers College. She had taught school in Marstons Mills and Cotuit since 1944. She was principal of Marstons Mills Elementary School from 1945 to 1967 and principal of the Cotuit Elementary School from 1967 until her retirement in 1972.

Surviving are two sons, Peter M. Moore of Dunnellon, Fla., and Parker H. Moore of Lumberton, N.J.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a niece.
