Doris M. Michonski, 74
Cotuit - Doris M. Michonski, 74, an avid gardener and cook, died Dec. 25, 2000, at her home.
She was the wife of Walter Michonski for 55 years.
Born in Westfield, Mrs. Michonski was a former communicant of St. Mary's Church in Westfield, and a communicant of Christ the King in Mashpee. She was retired from the former Steiger's clothing store in Westfield. She was a member of the Massachusetts Club.
Mrs. Michonski loved the Cape and walks by the ocean. She also lived in Duned, Fla.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Charles Michonski of Cotuit and Ronald Michonski of Southwick; seven grandchildren; and two great grandsons.
She was also the mother of the late Sandra Pollard.
John Mihalec, 86
West Barnstable - John "Meetch" Mihalec, 86, who leaves family on Cape Cod, died Dec. 20, 2000, at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis after a long battle with kidney failure.
He was the husband of the late Mary (Holko) Mihalec for 53 years.
Mr. Mihalec was a lifelong resident of Byram, Conn., until he moved last fall to live with his daughter in West Barnstable. He left school after the eighth grade to support his family. During the Depression he played semi-pro football as a halfback with the Stamford Silver Bullets.
During World War II, Mr. Mihalec enlisted in the Navy and served as an aircraft mechanic on the aircraft carrier Santee. The ship was involved in numerous battles and beach landings in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters.
Following the war Mr. Mihalec worked as a machinist for the Stamford Rolling Mills. Following the closing of the company, he pursued his interests in plants and gardening in a second career with the town of Greenwich, Conn., Parks Department.
After his retirement, he continued gardening and playing golf. He enjoyed spending time with this children and grandchildren and touring Cape Cod.
Surviving are a daughter, Kathy Hibberd of West Barnstable; two sons, John of Fairfield, Conn., and Paul of Santa Barbara, Calif.; a sister, Ann Degon of Venice, Fla., and six grandchildren.
Michelle A. Moselsky, 42
Sandwich - Michelle A. Moselsky, 42, a mother and homemaker, died at home Dec. 30, 2000.
She was born in Wareham and raised in Sandwich. She was a 1976 graduate of Sandwich High School. She earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from Salve Regina College in Newport, R.I.
She worked for three years at Lucent/Excel Technologies in Hyannis.
Her favorite activity was spending time with her children.
Survivors include her parents, Michael A. and Doris M. McNamara of Sandwich; a son, Brian Moselsky of Sandwich and a daughter, Megan E. Moselsky of Sandwich; two sisters, Maureen Hadley of Hyannis and Suzanne McNamara of Brant Rock.

Kathleen Nelson, 63
Norfolk - Kathleen (Morin) Nelson, 63, who leaves family on Cape Cod, died Dec. 22, 2000, at her home.
She was the wife of Richard A. Nelson.
Born in Hyannis, Mrs. Nelson was raised and educated in West Yarmouth. She was a long distance operator for New England Telephone in Hyannis prior to moving to Boston. She made her home in Norfolk for more than 36 years, where she was active in the Cub Scouts of America as a den mother and taught religious education at St. Jude's Church in Norfolk.
Mrs. Nelson was a homemaker while her children grew, and worked for Codex Corp./Motorola for eight years as a customer service representative.
Surviving besides her husband are four daughters, Laurie E. Nelson of Franklin, N.H., Cheryl Chouiniere of Fairfax, Va., Donella Donahue of Norton and Marjorie J. Nelson of North Attleboro; three sons, Richard Allen Nelson Jr. of North Attleboro, Francis C. Nelson of Mansfield and Stephen T. Nelson of Norfolk; six sisters, Helene Edwards of Hanover, Anne McNamara of Framingham, Mary Soriano of Groton, Conn., Margaret Sheridan of Bronxville, N.Y., Agnes Bogar of Greensboro, N.C., and Elizabeth Butler of Hyannisport; and one grandson.

Anastasia Nicole Oliver-Baumgartner
Hyannis - Anastasia Nicole Oliver-Baumgartner, infant daughter of Robert E. Oliver and Laurie J. Baumgartner, died Dec. 26, 2000, at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.
Surviving besides her parents are three brothers, Antonio Baumgartner, Eugene Demarius Oliver and Dion Oliver; her grandparents, Charles Andrew Baumgartner and Nancy Baumgartner of Middlebury, Vt., Nicholas and Ann Kapolis of Dennis, Larry and Charlene Russell and Robert and Carol Oliver, all of South Carolina; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service will be held in the spring.

Ella 'Nana' Odom, 88
Hyannis - Ella "Nana" (Johnson) Odom, 88, a resident of Hyannis, died Dec. 27, 2000, at her home after a long illness.
She was the wife of the late Curtis Odom.
Born in Fitzgerald, Ga., Mrs. Odom previously lived in Newark, N.J. She was formerly a factory worker.
Surviving are two daughters, Ernestine Hughes of Hyannis and Mildred Williams of Briarcliff, N.Y.; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Lillian E. Orr, 96
Centerville - Lillian E. Orr, 96, died Dec. 24, 2000, at Hospice House in Barnstable.
She was the wife of the late Robert Orr.
Mrs. Orr was born in Spangler, Pa. She and her husband operated a dairy farm in Chester County, Pa., for many years.
After retiring in 1975, she moved to Barnstable, where she became active in the Adult Social Day Center.
She is survived by a daughter, Lillian O. Davis of Centerville; four grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Gerald S. Paine, 61
Malden Bridge, N.Y. - Gerald S. "Jerry" Paine, 61, a Cape native, who leaves family on Cape, died unexpectedly Dec. 13, 2000, at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson.
He was the husband of Barbara (Wilmot) Paine.
Born in Hyannis, Mr. Paine graduated from Lawrence High School in Falmouth and then served on the Nuclear Power Program of the Navy from 1958 to 1963.
Mr. Paine worked for many years in several building material trade businesses in Massachusetts and for the past four years as a contractor salesman at the Dunn Builders in Chatham, N.Y.
Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Tammy Zani of Danvers, Mass.; two sons, Christopher C. Paine of Lowville and Mark S. Paine of Falmouth; a brother, Richard R. Paine of Falmouth; seven grandchildren; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mary Elizabeth Pereira, 62
Monument Beach - Mary Elizabeth (Costa) Pereira, 62, of Monument Beach, died Dec. 23, 2000, at her home following a long illness.
She was the wife of George Pereira.
Mrs. Pereira was born and raised in Taunton and educated in Taunton schools, graduating from Taunton High School in 1956. She moved to the Cape Cod area in 1961. For many years, Mrs. Pereira worked as an insurance broker for O'Brien Centerville Insurance Co. in Centerville. She retired in 1992 due to illness.
Mrs. Pereira was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in Pocasset. She enjoyed arts and crafts.
Surviving besides her husband are two sons, Albert G. Pereira and Christopher J. Pereira, both of Monument Beach; a brother, Richard A. Costa of Taunton; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
