Helena Shea, 96

Hyannis - Helena (Cronin) Shea, 96, a longtime resident of Worcester, died April 5, 2001, at Cape Cod Hospital Care Community Pavilion in Hyannis.
She was the wife of Jeremiah T. Shea, who died in 1969.
Mrs. Shea was born in Worcester and was a graduate of Worcester Normal School. She taught at St. Thomas Street School in Worcester. She was a volunteer at Assumption College and the Worcester Art Museum, and was a member of the Hortulus Garden Club. She moved to Hyannis in 1999.
Surviving are a sister-in-law, Jane Cronin of Winchester; a nephew, Gregory Cronin of Marstons Mills; and several other nephews and nieces.
A funeral Mass was celebrated in Our Lady of Victory Church in Centerville. Burial followed in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester.
Memorial donations may be made to Friends of the Worcester Public Library, 160 Fremont St., Worcester, MA 01608.

Carole P. Blais, 40

West Hyannisport - Carole P. Blais, 40, died April 8, 2001, at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.
Born in Quebec, Canada, she was raised in Barnstable and attended local schools. She was the manager of Coastal Cellular in Yarmouth for the past five years and previously worked for the Van Gough Painting Co.
Ms. Blais loved flowers, fine food, walking on the beach and her future mother-in-law's cooking.
She is survived by her mother, Jaqueline Hughes; a son, Timothy Boston of West Hyannisport; her fiancé, John Piskura of West Hyannisport; a brother; Jacques Blais of Brockton; three sisters, Guy Roberts of Centerville, Joanne Blais of Yarmouth and Danielle Blais of Yarmouth; her maternal grandmother, Edith Giroux of Canada; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
A funeral service was held at the Doane, Beal and Ames Funeral Home in Hyannis. Burial was at the convenience of the family.
Memorial donations may be made to the Timothy Boston Trust Fund c/o Cape Cod Bank and Trust, 307 Main St., Hyannis, MA 02601.

Mary M. Chesmore, 92

Centerville- Mary M. (Iannitalli) Chesmore, 92, died April 12, 2001, at Cape Regency Rehabilitation and Nursing Home.
She was the wife of George Wilbur Chesmore, who died in 1990.
Mrs. Chesmore was born in Milford. She lived in Natick from 1943 until 1997, when she moved to Centerville.
She enjoyed gardening and reading.
She is survived by a daughter, Sandra J. Beach of Centerville; a sister, Edith Galligan of Milford; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral was held at Chesmore Funeral Home in Holliston, with burial to follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Milford.

Archie J. Hayes, 86

Los Alamos, N.M. - Archie J. Hayes, 86, formerly of West Hyannisport, died April 9, 2001, following a brief illness.
He was the former husband of the late Katherine J. McCarthy-Hayes.
Mr. Hayes was born in Waltham. He worked as a doorman for 40 years at the Statler-Hilton in Boston, and also as a locker room attendant for the New Seabury Golf Course.
He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He leaves four daughters, Janice E. Gorman of Los Alamos, N.M., Marjorie C. McLaughlin of Deland, Fla., Elaine M. Vermette of Marstons Mills, and Kathleen M. Nydam of West Harwich; a son, John A. Hayes of Nantucket; two brothers, William C. Hayes of Athol, Mass., and Malcolm R. Hayes of Waltham, Mass.; two sisters, Mary Langton of Fort Pierce, Fla., and Ann Bourque of Devon, Pa.; 25 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was also the father of the late Nora Emma Hayes, Sheila J. Cormier and Carole J. Randall.
Funeral services were held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Los Alamos.

Genevieve 'Jean' Korb, 94

Newton - Genevieve "Jean" (MacIsaac) Korb, 94, formerly of Hyannis and Wellesley, died earlier this month at Sun Bridge Nursing Center in Newton.
She was the wife of the late Walter A. Korb.
Born in Nova Scotia, Mrs. Korb was raised and educated in Canada until moving to Boston in her teens where she finished her education.
She lived most of her life in Wellesley, moving to Hyannis in the 1970s. For the past several years, she made her home in Newton.
She is survived by a sister, Irene MacIsaac of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
A Pro Burial Liturgy was held at Our Lady of Victory Church in Centerville. Burial followed in Mosswood Cemetery, Cotuit.

Jennifer M. Lawson, 54

Hyannis - Jennifer M. (Moore) Lawson, 54, died unexpectedly April 14, 2001, while working at her store in Hyannis.
She was the wife of Oscar L. Lawson.
Mrs. Lawson was born in Elizabeth, N.J., and attended Bourne schools, graduating from Bourne High School.
For the past 15 years, Mrs. Lawson worked at Cape Cod Hospital, where she had been employee of the month. She had previously worked for various insurance agencies in the Cape area.
Mrs. Lawson was the former owner of Danielle's, a hat shop, and a Jacob's Ladder, a religious book store, both in Hyannis. At the time of her death, she owned Simply J's, a fine apparel store on Main Street in Hyannis.
She was member of the Church of the Firstborn in Hyannis, where she was church treasurer. She had received an award for being active in prayer and support for the southern churches that were victims of arson.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Lawson is survived by two sons, Robert L. Daniels of Harwich and Riccardo M. Daniels of Hyannis; her mother, Essie Webb of Hyannis; three brothers, Darryle Moore of Hyannis, Theodore Moore of New York and Clifford Moore Jr. of Falmouth; one sister, Karen Young of South Carolina; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at New Hope Full Gospel Baptist Church in Hyannis.
Memorial donations made be made to the Church of the Firstborn, P.O. Box 1641, Hyannis, MA 02601.

Robert C. Lumenello, 63

Hyannis - Robert C. Lumenello, 63, a resident of Hyannis, died April 5, 2001, at Stanley R. Tippett Home in Needham after a long illness.
Born in Lowell and educated in local schools, he attended Northeastern University. He made his home on Cape Cod, most recently in Hyannis.
Mr. Lumenello was employed as an insurance broker for Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance and Metropolitan Life Insurance for more than 23 years.
He is survived by a daughter, Susan E. Lumenello of Boston; a son, Scott H. Lumenello of Worcester; two brothers, Vincent J. Lumenello of Lowell and Kenneth A. Lumenello of Burbank, Calif.; a granddaughter; and five nephews.
A memorial service was held at the McDonough Funeral Home in Lowell. Burial was in St. Patrick Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Polly's Place, First Lutheran Church, Route 3A, West Barnstable, MA 02632.

Roger E. Macomber, 79

Marstons Mills - Roger E. Macomber, 79, of Marstons Mills, died April 10, 2001, at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.
He was the husband of Doris E. (Thomas) Macomber.
A lifelong resident of Marstons Mills, Mr. Macomber was educated in Barnstable schools.
He was a carpenter for many years, working both for the town of Barnstable and in his own business.
He loved reading, gardening and antiques.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, James E. Macomber of Mashpee and Roger E. Macomber Jr. of Edgewater, Fla.; three daughters, Linda M. Macomber of Marstons Mills, Donna M. Pacheco of Dennisport and Lisa M. Gardiner of Wareham; a sister, Alva Roberts of Marstons Mills; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services and burial were private.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross, 286 South St., Hyannis, MA 02601.
