Robert Bruce Trimble, 75

Centerville - Robert Bruce Trimble, 75, of Centerville, died Oct, 5, 2001, at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.
He was the husband of Miriam (Hill) Trimble.
Mr. Trimble was born in Swampscott and graduated from Lynn Classical High School in 1943. During World War II, he served in the Marine Corps from 1944 to 1946 in Okinawa and Japan. He also taught English and mathematics to young Marines to help them earn their GED degrees. Mr. Trimble attended the University of Maine in Orono and Bryant & Stratton Business School in Boston.
Mr. Trimble was a salesman and store manager for W. T. Manning Co., Jack & Harry's, Estes Auto Supply, and Pentti's Auto Supply, all in Hyannis. He also managed Jack & Harry's in Norwood.
A member of the First Baptist Church, he sang in the choir for 51 years, served on several boards and committees, and was director of the Food Pantry from 1995 to the present. He was a member and former chairman of the Barnstable Housing Authority, and a member of the Kiwanis Club in Hyannis, serving on the board of directors from 1954 to 1967. He was a member of the Norwood Kiwanis Club, involved with the YMCA fitness program, and liked baseball, tennis, word games, music and singing.
Surviving besides his wife are three sons, Paul H. Trimble of Centerville, Peter B. Trimble of Mashpee and Stephen A. Trimble of Centerville; a sister, Marjorie Chute of Duxbury; and six grandchildren.
A funeral was held at First Baptist Church in Hyannis. Burial was at Mosswood Cemetery in Cotuit.

Wayland Jamar Abney, 13

Marstons Mills - Wayland Jamar Abney, 13, a resident of Marstons Mills, died on Oct. 7, 2001, at his home.
Born in Houston, Texas , he was raised and educated there until moving to the Cape four years ago. Wayland was in the eighth grade at Marstons Mills Middle School where he was involved in track and basketball. He received the school's Humanitarian Award last year.
Wayland enjoyed skateboarding, basketball and video games.
Besides his parents, Grady M. Abney and Erica R. (Lewis) Abney and sister Amber Renee Abney, all of Marstons Mills, he is survived by a grandfather, Leon Combs, Sr. of Houston; a grandmother, Ruth M. Abney of Moss Point, Miss.; a great-grandfather, Issac Wartell of Houston; a great-grandmother, Bertha Wartell of Houston; and several uncles, aunts and cousins.
A funeral was held at the Sandwich Friends Meeting House. Burial will follow in Houston.

Elsie Bailey, 79

Centerville - Elsie (Mania) Bailey, 79, a longtime resident of Centerville, died Oct. 6, 2001, at her home.
She was the wife of Robert E. Bailey, who died in 1999.
Born in Pawtucket, R.I., Mrs. Bailey was educated in Pawtucket schools.
She moved to Centerville from North Attleboro in 1972. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in West Barnstable.
She is survived by two sons, Steven R. Bailey of Acworth, Ga., and Craig K. Bailey of Plainville; a daughter, Cynthia L. Bailey of Halifax; four sisters, Freda Mania and Anna Mania, both of Smithfield, R.I., Helen Kilguss of Cranston, R.I., and Alma Moeller of Westwood; and two granddaughters.
A memorial service was at the First Lutheran Church in West Barnstable. Burial was private.
Memorial donations may be made to the First Lutheran Church, Route 6A, West Barnstable, MA 02668; or to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 495 Old Connecticut Path, Framingham, MA 01701.

Edith Crawford, 96

Sarasota, Fla. - Edith Amanda (Stewart) Crawford, 96, formerly of Cotuit, died Sept. 21, 2001, at Lakeside Terrace Nursing Home.
She was the wife of the late Allan F. Crawford.
Born in Dorchester, she graduated from Girls English High School in Boston and Harley Hospital School of Nursing in Dorchester.
Mrs. Crawford was employed as a nurse at South Shore Hospital in South Weymouth, Mass., and later became a homemaker. She moved to Cotuit from Weymouth in 1964.
She was a member of the Cotuit Women's Fellowship, Cotuit Federated Church, Order of the Eastern Star, Mayflower Chapter in Weymouth and Cotuit Chapter 77. She also served as secretary to the Rainbow Girls No. 19 of Weymouth and was assistant leader of Blue Birds and Campfire Girls in South Weymouth. She was a supporter of the Cotuit Athletic Association.
Mrs. Crawford enjoyed traveling, hooking rugs, reading and Bible studies.
Surviving are a daughter, Linda Crawford of Bradenton, Fla.; two grandchildren, Kim Jacobson Ouellette and Lori Jacobson of Mashpee; and three great-grandchildren.
She was also the mother of the late Kenneth "Rod" Crawford and the late Sandra Jacobson.
Graveside services were held at Mosswood Cemetery in Cotuit.
Memorial donations may be made to the September 11th Fund, American Red Cross in Greater New York, 150 Amsterdam Ave., New York, NY 10023-5025.

Frank D. Criasia, 75

Centerville - Frank D. Criasia, 75, a resident of Centerville, died Oct, 7, 2001, at his home after an illness.
He was the husband of Irene (Fuller) Criasia.
Born in Milford, Mr. Criasia was a Navy veteran, serving in World War II. He retired from the Draper Corp. and also worked at Cole Court senior housing.
He lived in Centerville for the past nine years, and was a resident of Holliston prior to that.
Mr. Criasia loved tending his vegetable garden, was active in the Charismatic Renewal in the Roman Catholic Church, and volunteered at the Family Food Pantry in Harwich.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, John Criasia of Winterville, Ohio; two daughters, Margaret Ferrante of Norfolk and Catherine Holmes of Holliston; two brothers, Guerino Criasia of Falmouth and Americo Criasia of Mashpee; two sisters, Yolanda Protano of Glendale, Calif., and Ida Schofield of Milford, seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at St. Mary's Church in Holliston, with burial following in Hopedale Village Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Cape Cod, 923 Route 6A, Yarmouthport, MA 02675.

Kenneth W. 'DeBo' DeBarros Sr., 55

Hyannis - Kenneth W. "DeBo" DeBarros Sr., 55, a longtime resident of Hyannis, died unexpectedly Oct. 12, 2001, at his home.
He was the husband of Donna M. (Galvin) DeBarros.
Mr. DeBarros was born and raised in Hyannis. He graduated from Barnstable High School and Fisher Junior College.
Mr. DeBarros entered the Marine Corps in 1966, serving two tours during the Vietnam War. He was the recipient of many medals, including the Combat Action Ribbon, Purple Heart, Presidential Unit Citation and Vietnamese Service Medal with four stars.
He was honorably discharged as a sergeant in 1972. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans in Hyannis.
After his return from the service, Mr. DeBarros worked for 18 years at the Barnstable County House of Correction as a correctional officer.
After retiring, he worked as a security officer at Cape Cod Hospital until the time of his death.
Surviving besides his wife are his mother, Clara DeBarros of Marstons Mills; three sons, Kenneth W. DeBarros Jr., Darrell DeBarros and Darren DeBarros, all of Hyannis; a daughter, Mellissa Simmons of Pittsburgh, Pa.; seven brothers, Amos DeBarros of Osterville, Domingo DeBarros, Joseph DeBarros and Peter DeBarros, all of Marstons Mills, Gus DeBarros of Hyannis, Steve DeBarros of Mashpee and Arnold DeBarros of California; six sisters, Catherine Hendricks of Florida, Clare DeBarros, Jeanette Tobey and Feria DeBarros, all of Hyannis, Paula Berio of Rhode Island, and Paulette DeBarros of California; five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral was held at Doane, Beal and Ames Funeral Home in Hyannis. Burial with military honors followed at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.

Bernard H. Dihrberg Jr., 69

West Yarmouth - Bernard H. Dihrberg Jr., 69, a resident of West Yarmouth, died unexpectedly Oct. 10, 2001.
He was the husband of Lee (Silva) Dihrberg.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was a Navy veteran, serving aboard the USS Atka until 1954, during the Korean War.
Mr. Dihrberg moved to Cape Cod shortly after his discharge, first to Centerville, then Sandwich and most recently to West Yarmouth.
He served on the Barnstable County Police Department for more than 25 years. He was involved in forming the Barnstable County Narcotic Enforcement Officers Association. He received numerous commendations from departments from all over New England, including the district attorney's office and the U.S. Customs office.
Mr. Dihrberg worked with many of the Cape and islands police departments drug task forces and he was an accomplished sharpshooter through the Massachusetts State Police Academy.
Mr. Dihrberg also worked security for Hy-Line and most recently was employed by Pinkerton Detective Agency with Lucent Technology in Hyannis.
Mr. Dihrberg owned the Blueberry Acres Farm in Sandwich for many years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Robert of New York; a daughter, Rosemary, of New York; six grandchildren; and three stepchildren.
A memorial service was held at the Doane, Beal and Ames Funeral Home in Hyannis. Burial followed at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
