Nancy E. Short, 69

Sandwich - Nancy E. (Conlon) Short, 69, a resident of Sandwich, died Oct. 10, 2001, after a long illness.
Born, raised and educated in Brookline, she was a graduate of Brookline High.
Mrs. Short moved to Osterville 45 years ago and worked for Osterville Drug Store. She later moved to Marstons Mills, where she lived for 10 years, and then to Sandwich, where she lived for the past five years.
She was a member of the Junior Women's Club of Hyannis. An avid gardener, she also enjoyed decorating and was a volunteer with the Sandwich Housing Authority.
She is survived by a son, John R. "Jack" Short Jr. of East Sandwich; three grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and extended family in the Tiverton, Nova Scotia, area.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Cape Cod, 923 Route 6A, Yarmouthport, MA 02675.

Mary A. Stankard, 100

Hyannis - Mary Agnes Stankard, 100, of Hyannis died Oct. 10, 2001, at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.
Ms. Stankard was born, raised and educated in Ireland. She moved to the United States at the age of 25 and settled in Dorchester. She worked in the food service department at Smith College for two years and did private housekeeping throughout Boston.
She moved to Cape Cod in 1989 and was a member of the Sacred Heart Chapel in Yarmouthport.
Survivors include a niece, Linda Emerson of Mashpee; cousins Ann Donnelly of Dorchester and Margaret Gibbons of Galway, Ireland; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at Sacred Heart Chapel in Yarmouthport. Burial was private.
Donations may be made to Sacred Heart Chapel, Summer Street, Yarmouthport, MA 02675.

Winifred 'Winnie' Amado, 66

Hyannis - Winifred "Winnie" Amado, 66, of Hyannis, died Oct. 17, 2001, at Cape Cod Hospital Extended Care Pavilion in Hyannis.
She was the wife of George Amado.
Mrs. Amado was born in Wareham, and moved to Hyannis in 1954. She was a laundress for more than 15 years, and was a former sponsor of World Vision.
Mrs. Amado could often be found with her longtime friend, Louise Brown.
She loved playing Bingo and cards with "the girls."
She enjoyed reading and taking walks.
Surviving are two sons, Stephen Amado of Hyannis and Edward Amado of Yarmouth; two daughters, Joyce Mitchell of Alabama and Roberta Richards of Holbrook; three brothers, Manual Alves of Florida, Frank Alves Jr. of Rhode Island and Anthony Pina of Wareham; a sister, Mena Baptiste of Florida; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral was held in the Doane, Beal and Ames Funeral Home in Hyannis.
Memorial donations may be made to the O'Keefe Cancer Center, Cape Cod Hospital, 27 Park St., Hyannis, MA 02601.

Robert S. Binford, 82

Sarasota, Fla. - Robert S. Binford, 82, formerly of Cotuit, died Oct. 11, 2001.
He was the husband of Phyllis Binford.
Mr. Binford was born in Caldwell, Idaho. He attended Reed College in Portland, Ore., and was a graduate of Oregon State University with a degree in mechanical engineering. He was a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity and a licensed professional engineer in New York.
Mr. Binford retired after 39 years as an engineer with General Electric, where he was manager of the jet aircraft controls division in Lynn. He moved to Sarasota two years ago from Cotuit, where he had resided for 20 years.
Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Leslie Rogers of Hong Kong; a son, Gregg Binford of Sarasota; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
A memorial service was held at the Wiegand Brothers Funeral Home in Sarasota.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of South West Florida, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.

Grace E. Ciccolo, 84

Centerville - Grace Ernestine (Bartlett) Ciccolo, 84, of Centerville, died Oct. 9, 2001, at the Cape Regency Rehabilitation Center in Centerville.
She was the wife of the late John Ciccolo.
Born in Northampton, Mrs. Ciccolo was a graduate of Northampton High School in 1934, where she played basketball and sang in the choir. She graduated from Northampton Commercial College in 1936 and was employed by the Hartford Insurance Co. from 1937 until her marriage in 1942. She sang professionally from 1938 to 1939.
Mrs. Ciccolo resided in North Falmouth from 1953 to 1961. She then lived in Lexington until 1963, where she worked on the editorial staff of the Department of Education at Harvard University.
She and her family returned to Cape Cod in 1964 and resided in Centerville. Mrs. Ciccolo was a member of the South Congregational Church, the Centerville Historical Society, the Horticultural Society, the Garden Club and Cape Cod Hospital Aid.
Surviving are two sons, Jack Ciccolo of Glen Ridge, N.J., and Stephen Ciccolo of Upton; a sister, Doris Menard of Haydenville; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Memorial donations may be made to the Centerville Fire and Rescue Co.

Alice M. Creedon, 64

Marstons Mills - Alice M. (Nauss) Creedon, 64, died Oct. 17, 2001, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
She was the wife of Richard F. Creedon.
Born, raised and educated in Boston, Mrs. Creedon moved to Marstons Mills from Hyde Park 10 years ago.
She was formerly an employee of the Boston Public Schools for approximately 10 years.
Surviving besides her husband are four sons, Richard D. Creedon of Marstons Mills, David M. Creedon of Mashpee, James F. Creedon of Marshfield and John T. Creedon of Burlington; a daughter, Cheryl A. Kramer of Mashpee; a brother, Arthur Nauss; four sisters, Lillian Russo, Helen Dailey, Doris Daly and Carol Quinn; and 11 grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Osterville. Burial was in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.

Charles S. Crocker Jr., 70

Centerville - Charles S. Crocker Jr., 70, of Centerville, died Oct. 16, 2001, at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis,
He was the husband of Denise (Donovan) Crocker.
Mr. Crocker was the owner and operator of Hyannis Taxi for 26 years. He loved to landscape and enjoyed working in his yard. He had an appreciation for arts of all types.
Surviving besides his wife are a son, Charles S. Crocker III of Centerville; two daughters, Monica Crocker and Colleen Crocker, both of Centerville; an aunt; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held at Doane, Beal and Ames Funeral Home in Hyannis.
Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Agnes T. Dunn

Hyannis - Agnes T. (Farrell) Dunn, a resident of Hyannis, formerly of Hyde Park, died Oct. 13, 2001.
She was the wife of the late Daniel J. Dunn.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary E. Sylvester of Florida; three grandchildren on Cape Cod; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Church in Hyannis. Burial followed at Mosswood Cemetery.

Rosemarie DeGrace, 59

Hyannis - Rosemarie (Andrade) DeGrace, 59, of Hyannis, died Oct. 15, 2001, at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis after a long illness.
She was the wife of Julio "Duke" DeGrace.
Born in Fairhaven, Mrs. DeGrace was a 1962 graduate of Fairhaven High School. She then entered the House of the Good Shepherd, leaving to begin a family. Mrs. DeGrace attended Newbury College in Boston, where she was on the dean's list and graduated cum laude. She lived on the Cape for many years, the last 14 of them in Hyannis.
She was employed as a home health aide with the Visiting Nurses Association.
Surviving besides her husband are six sons, Martin D. Littleton and Miquel H. Littleton, both of Hyannis, Curtis D. Littleton of New Bedford, Jesse L. Littleton of Centerville, Derrick DeGrace of Mashpee, and Julio "Little Duke" DeGrace of Boston; four daughters, Colleen S. Littleton of Dennisport, Desiree M. Littleton and Grace Ann DeGrace, both of New Bedford, and Darla DeGrace of Boston; three brothers, Victor Andrade, John Matthews and Victor Matthews, all of New Bedford; two sisters, Loretta Andrade-Colby of Florida and Rita Mendez of Wareham; and 23 grandchildren.
A funeral was held at Perry Funeral Home Inc. in New Bedford. Burial was in Old Indian Cemetery in Mashpee.
