Brian L. Jones, 60
Marstons Mills - Brian L. Jones, 60, a resident of Marstons Mills, died unexpectedly Jan. 17, 2002, at his home.
Born in Hyannis, Mr. Jones graduated from Barnstable High School in 1960.
He worked for the Tara Hyannis Hotel in maintenance and laundry for 20 years.
Mr. Jones liked reading and was a sports fan.
Surviving are two sisters, Maureen McPhee of Marstons Mills and Karen Maier of Denver, Colo.; two nieces; a nephew; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
A funeral Mass was celebrated in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Wianno Avenue in Osterville.

Aimo 'Ted' Kauppila, 84
Lowell - Aimo "Ted" Kauppila, 84, a resident of Lowell and formerly of Cotuit, Andover and Worcester, died Jan. 15, 2002, at Northwood Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Lowell.
He was the husband of Edith S. (Person) Kauppila. They would have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on Feb. 22.
Born in Worcester, Mr. Kauppila graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester in 1936.
He served in the Army during World War II and was in the Battle of the Bulge.
Mr. Kauppila worked as a civilian inspector with U.S. Defense Department on the Apollo Project in Lowell at Avco Inc., retiring in 1969. From 1969 to 1979, he was employed with Compu Graphic Corp. in Wilmington.
He was a communicant of the First Lutheran Church in Barnstable and a member of the American Legion Post in Sandwich.
Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Bruce Kauppila of Lowell and Keith W. Kauppila of Boston; and four grandchildren.
A funeral was held at Dolan Funeral Home in Chelmsford.

Stanley M. Kectic, 85
Centerville - Stanley M. Kectic, 85, a resident of Centerville and Bare Foot Bay, Fla., and formerly of Hyannis, died Jan. 11, 2002, at the Harrington House in Walpole after a long illness.
He was the husband of Stelle (Pasionek) Kectic for 60 years.
Born in Boston and raised in Chelsea, Mr. Kectic graduated from Chelsea High School.
He was an Army veteran, serving in World War II.
A resident of Centerville since 1977, Mr. Kectic formerly lived in Hyannis.
Before his retirement, he worked as an inspector for the U.S. Post Office in Hyannis.
An accomplished musician, he played the bass guitar with many area big bands. He was a member of the American Postal Workers Union, AFL-CIO and the Cape Cod Musicians Association.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a brother, Walter Kectic; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held in the Massachusetts National Cemetery
in Bourne.
A memorial Mass will be held at a later date.
Peter Knox, 87
Barnstable - Peter Knox, 87, a resident of Barnstable, died Jan. 13, 2002, at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.
He was the husband of Nancy (Wolfe) Knox.
Born in Hardgate, Scotland, Mr. Knox was raised and educated in Walpole, where he graduated from high school.
Before entering the Army during World War II, he was a maintenance worker for Bird & Son in Norwood. Mr. Knox served in the European theater as an anti-aircraft artillery gunner.
Discharged from the Army in 1946, he went back to work for Bird & Son, where he worked until retiring in the early 1970s and moving to Barnstable.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Walpole and an avid baseball fan.
Surviving besides his wife are a brother, Robert Knox of East Walpole; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held at Doane, Beal and Ames Funeral Home in Hyannis.
Burial followed in the Massachusetts National Cemetery
in Bourne.

Louise P. Langlois, 81
Hyannis - Louise P. (Reppucci) Langlois, 81, formerly of Dennisport and Needham, died Jan. 11, 2002, in Hyannis at the home of her sister.
She was the wife of the late Oscar Langlois.
Born in Framingham, Mrs. Langlois was a graduate of Framingham High School and the Wilfred Academy of Boston. She was formerly a hairstylist for more than 18 years at her shop on Park Square in Boston.
She and her family shared a love of music, and Mrs. Langlois sang frequently at Holy Trinity Church in Harwich. She and her husband created and collected hand-carved figures; one collection of 3,000 pieces of the Nativity scene was on display in Needham for many years and was recently donated to the Don Orione Shrine in East Boston.
Surviving are two sisters, Annette M. DeQuattro of Hyannis, with whom she lived, and Carmella M. Torti of Natick; a brother, Anthony Reppucci of Natick; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Linus Church in Natick. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery
in Needham.

Ruth Ellen K. Locke, 92
Centerville - Ruth Ellen K. (Kingsbury) Locke, 92, a resident of Centerville and formerly of Vermont, died Jan. 7, 2002, at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.
She was the wife of Raymond Sanborn Locke.
Born in Moretown, Vt., Mrs. Locke graduated from the State Teachers College in Lowell, now known as the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, in 1934.
She received a master's degree in 1958 from Boston University.
Mrs. Locke worked in the education field for many years.
She spent 11 years in Warwick, R.I., as the music supervisor and was in charge of 27 elementary schools.
She was also a teacher in several school districts in Massachusetts, Vermont and Rhode Island.
Mrs. Locke was very active in the American Association of University Women.
She was also a member of the Cape Cod Horticultural Society and the Boston University Alumni Association.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Waitsfield and Waterbury, Vt.
Mrs. Locke was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Barnstable.
She enjoyed flower gardening and attending concerts with her husband.
Surviving besides her husband are two sons, Raymond S. Locke of Weston and Randolph K. Locke of Burnsville, Minn.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Barnstable, with burial in Beechwood Cemetery.

Isabel M. Mayers, 97
Hyannis - Isabel M. (Oliveira) Mayers, 97, a resident of Hyannis, died Jan. 17, 2002, at the Cape Regency Nursing Home in Centerville.
She was the wife of the late Joseph W. Mayers for 56 years.
Born in St. Michael, Azores, Portugal, Mrs. Mayers moved to Massachusetts at the age of 4.
She was a graduate of the Fannie Farmer Cooking School.
Mrs. Mayers lived in Pennsylvania during the time of her marriage. After the death of her husband, she returned to Massachusetts to live with her daughter.
Mrs. Mayers was an avid gardener, and enjoyed cooking and sewing.
Surviving are a daughter, Marjorie Mayers of Hyannis; a brother, Antone Oliveira of Massachusetts; and a sister, Doris Greenwood of Massachusetts.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in St. Francis Xavier Church in Hyannis.
