Leo Murphy, 68

Craigville - Leo Murphy, 68, of Craigville and Bonita Springs, Fla., died unexpectedly Jan. 15, 2003, at his Bonita Beach home.
He was the husband of Sandra (Tremper) Murphy.
Mr. Murphy was born and raised in Lynn. After graduating from Lynn English High School, he entered the Army and served in the Korean War.
After working for 30 years with Noxell Corp. and Proctor and Gamble, he retired in 1993.
He was a member of Habitat for Humanity and an avid golfer.
Besides his wife, he is survived by four sons, Michael John Murphy of Mason, Ohio, and Mark Andrew Murphy, Leo Scott Murphy and Scott Francis Murphy, all of Lynn; three daughters, Lisa Marie Moquin of Concord, N.H., Laura Ann Clegg of Boscowen, N.H., and Ellen Jean Murphy of Lynn; two stepsons, Peter Lebel of Amherst and John Lebel of Wilton, Maine; three stepdaughters, Sue Stewart of West Yarmouth, Deborah Jacobs of Centerville and Kathy Lebel of Ludlow; four sisters, Katherine King of Kentucky, Claire Dodd of Indiana, Barbara Kilroy of New Hampshire and Luci Iacuessa of Washington ; eight grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his former wife, Margaret (Carigan) Murphy of Massachusetts.
Burial was in Beechwood Cemetery in Centerville.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, Cape and Islands Regional Office, 2 Whites Path, South Yarmouth, MA 02664; or to the American Cancer Society, Cape and Islands Chapter, 720 Main St., Hyannis, MA 02601.

Aurelia M. 'Terri' Nicoll, 78

Marstons Mills - Aurelia M. "Terri" (Windstein) Nicoll, 78, a longtime resident of Marstons Mills, died Jan. 19, 2003, in Elmira, N.Y., after a long illness with cancer.
She was the wife of William Nicoll, who died in 1998.
Mrs. Nicoll was born in Pittsburgh and after her marriage in 1947 lived in many areas of the country, including New Jersey, Illinois and California.
She and her husband moved to the Cape in 1981.
She enjoyed bowling with the Ladies Tuesday AM League in Hyannis. She enjoyed flower gardening, was a member of many garden clubs and won numerous awards for her gardening talents. She adored her dog Bijou.
During the last part of her illness she was cared for by her daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Chuck Morrill, with support from Southern Tier Hospice.
Survivors include her daughter, Beth Morrill of Elmira, N.Y.; a son, David Nicoll of Gibsonia, Pa; two stepsons, William Nicoll and Frederick Nicoll, both of New Jersey; a sister, Mary Ross of Pittsburgh; two brothers, Bernard Windstein of Pittsburgh and Larry Windstein of Ellicott City, Md.; and grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Cape Cod at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to Southern Tier Hospice, 11751 E. Corning Road, Corning, NY 14830.

George A. Vigneau, 68

West Yarmouth - George A. Vigneau, 68, of West Yarmouth died unexpectedly Jan. 24, 2003, at Massachusetts General Hospital.
He was the beloved husband of Prudence (DiCiaccio) Vigneau for more than 42 years.
Mr. Vigneau was born in Malden and educated in the Somerville school system. He was a U.S. Army veteran. After he left the Army in 1960, he married, started raising a family and moved to West Yarmouth in 1964. He worked at Buckler's GMC Inc. in Hyannis for 25 years.
Mr. Vigneau loved gardening, fishing, enjoyed a good crossword puzzle and dining out. He was very proud of, and dedicated to, his work with the Residents Encounter Christ program of St. Francis Xavier Church, bringing his ministry to inmates at the Barnstable County House of Correction. He was an altar server and communicant at St. Francis Xavier.
Besides his wife, he is survived by five sons, Michael J. Vigneau of Stoneham, James A. Vigneau of Centerville, John S. Vigneau of S. Yarmouth, Christopher J. Vigneau of Bridgewater and Thomas A. Vigneau of Harwich; one daughter, Theresa M. Vigneau of W. Yarmouth; a sister, Roselle DelSignore of Raynham; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Burial was in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Charles Christopulos, 86

Quincy - Charles Christopulos, 86, a former Bourne resident, died Feb. 1, 2003, at Milton Healthcare in Milton after an illness with Alzheimer's disease.
He was the husband of Jessie Christopulos.
Mr. Christopulos graduated from Bourne High School in 1934. He attained a bachelor's degree in history from Harvard College in 1938 and a master's degree in education from Boston University. He served with the Army in World War II and was stationed in India.
After the war, he taught history at Bourne High School for several years. In the 1950s, he managed the Buzzards Bay Hotel, a family business, and owned the IGA supermarket, later renamed the Cranberry Market, on Main Street in Buzzards Bay.
Mr. Christopulos was president of the Bourne Kiwanis Club, a member of the Bourne School Committee, and active in local politics.
He lived in Boston from the 1960s until 1999, when he moved to Quincy. He enjoyed reading about politics and history. An avid Red Sox fan, one of his favorite memories was of watching Babe Ruth hit two home runs during a game he attended at Fenway in 1927.
Surviving besides his wife are three daughters, Anne Christopulos of Mashpee, Jeanne Egan of West Hyannisport and Tina Christopulos of Los Angeles; two brothers, George Christopulos of Mashpee and Chris Christopulos of Buzzards Bay; three sisters, Helen Howie of Boca Raton, Fla., Florence Patterson of Worcester and Elizabeth of San Francisco; and two grandsons.
Burial was private at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 36 Cameron Ave., Cambridge, MA 02140.

Hattie P. Clark, 98

Hyannis - Hattie P. Clark, 98, a resident of Hyannis, died Feb. 2, 2003, at home.
She was the wife of the late Paul Channing Clark.
Mrs. Clark was born in Lynchburg, Va., and attended school in Framingham.
In 1972, she moved to Hyannis. She was a member of the senior citizens program in Osterville and the Baha'i Faith. Mrs. Clark loved music and played the piano.
She performed with the Celestial Chorus at Symphony Hall and Jordan Hall in Boston. She enjoyed bowling and played well into her 70s.
She was a foster mother to many children.
She is survived by three daughters, Joan of Hyannis, Brenda of Atlanta and Ruthie of Boston; a sister, Beaulah Wallace of Boston; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Burial was in Mosswood Cemetery in Cotuit.

Raymond H. Cogswell

Cotuit - Raymond H. Cogswell, a resident of Cotuit and Lowell, died Jan. 31, 2003, at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.
He was the husband of Jacqueline (Bourgeois) Cogswell.
Mr. Cogswell was born in Boston. He earned a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, where he was a long-distance swimmer.
An Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Cogswell was involved in the battles and campaigns of Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. During the war, he formulated plans for training for Signal Battalion and acted as an intelligence officer. He was decorated with the Bronze Star, American Campaign Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal and Distinguished Unit Badge.
Mr. Cogswell was employed as a manager in charge of underground conduits at Bell Telephone Co. in Pittsburgh until his retirement.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Pittsburgh and served as its treasurer for six years. After relocating to Cape Cod, he served as treasurer at the Cotuit Federated Church. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Shanopin Country Club in Pittsburgh and the Osterville Men's Club.
Surviving besides his wife are a sister, Alice C. Richardson; three stepdaughters, Laura Boudreau of Cotuit, Lisa Boudreau of Hamilton and Eleina Shinn of Ft. Myers, Fla.; a stepson, Thomas Boudreau of Ft. Myers; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held in Cotuit Federated Church.

James T. Cormier Jr., 65

Hyannis - James T. Cormier Jr., 65, of Hyannis died Nov. 20, 2002, at Falmouth Hospital.
He was the husband of the late Kathleen D. Cormier. Mr. Cormier was born in Wareham and was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by two sons, Andrew D. Cormier of Bourne and James W. Cormier of Cape Cod.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Feb. 19 at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.

John W. Folk, 82

Osterville - John W. Folk, 82, of Osterville and formerly of Needham and Devon, Pa., died Feb. 4, 2003, at Cape Regency Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Centerville.
He was the husband of Jean (Russell) Folk.
Mr. Folk was born in Reading, Pa., and attended Wilson High School in West Lawn, Pa., Franklin & Marshall College and George Washington University.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Coast Guard. He worked in claims for Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. in Boston and was in management for Reliance Insurance Co. in Philadelphia. He also served as chairman of the board and was president of I.I.R. Accord Industry in White Plains, N.Y.
He was a member of the Society of Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriters, and while living in Devon, was a member of Waynesborough Country Club, The Racquet Club and St. David's Episcopal Church. He was also a resident of Osterville for 20 years, where he was involved with the Cape Cod Horticultural Society, the Armstrong-Kelley Park, Oyster Harbors Club and St. Peter's Episcopal Church.
Surviving besides his wife are two sons, J. Michael Folk of Marlboro and Todd R. Folk of Alpharetta, Ga.; a daughter, Jennifer L. Guglielmi of Malvern, Pa.; and eight granddaughters.
A memorial service was held in St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Osterville.
Memorial donations may be made to the Cape Cod Horticultural Society, P.O. Box 934, Osterville, MA 02655.
