Patricia Anne 'Pat' Johnson, 69
Hyannis - Patricia Anne "Pat" (Sullivan) Johnson, 69, a longtime Hyannis resident, died Feb. 4, 2003, after a long illness with cancer.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Boston, graduated from Our Lady of Perpetual Help High School in Roxbury and moved to Hyannis in 1954. She was a directory assistance operator for Nynex in Hyannis, retiring in 1996.
She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Parish in Hyannis, where she taught CCD for 10 years and became a lector. She was active as a Girl Scout leader as well as a den mother for Boy Scouts.
Mrs. Johnson served in the Massachusetts State Guard. She also worked as a volunteer at bingo games at the VFW in Hyannis and St. Francis Xavier Parish.
Her greatest joy was raising her children. She also enjoyed her gardens, making crafts and traveling, and was a New England Patriots fan.
Surviving are three sons, Kevin Johnson of Goose Creek, S.C., and Steven Johnson and Daniel Johnson, both of Centerville; four daughters, Dr. Kathy Gates of Daly City, Calif., Kristine Benevento of Williston, Vt., Maureen Nagy of Schertz, Texas , and Jeanne Pacitto of North Attleboro; two brothers, Daniel Sullivan of Westport, Conn., and Harold Sullivan of Winter Park, Fla.; a sister, Sheila Vigenski of Virginia Beach, Va.; her former husband, Carl W. Johnson of North Attleboro; nine grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Church in Hyannis. Burial followed in St. Francis Cemetery.

Louisa Wood Jordan
Hyannis - Louisa Wood Jordan of Hyannis died Feb. 5, 2003, at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.
She was the wife of the late Chester Pierce Jordan.
Mrs. Jordan was born in Concord and raised in Acton. She attended Fitchburg State Teachers College and graduated from Hyannis Normal School. She was a resident of Lexington for many years.
She was currently a resident of The Village at Fawcett's Pond in Hyannis.
Mrs. Jordan owned and operated kindergartens in Lexington and Stoneham and taught in Lexington and Billerica schools.
She was a member of the Federated Church of Hyannis and was an avid seamstress and gardener. She was proud of her lineage, including ancestors who came to America aboard the Mary, which followed the Mayflower.
Surviving are two daughters, Pamela Hammond of Marstons Mills and Devora Jenkins of Rockville Centre, N.Y.; a sister, Olivia Allen of San Antonio, Texas ; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held at the Federated Church of Hyannis in the spring.
Jean C. Kelly, 85
Hyannis - Jean C. Kelly, 85, of Hyannis, died Feb. 5, 2003, at Cape Regency Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Centerville.
Ms. Kelly was born in St. Louis and was a sergeant in the Army during World War II, serving in New Guinea and the Philippines.
She worked as secretary to the president for Monsanto Chemical in St. Louis and she also worked for Cape Cod Cablevision after moving to the Cape in the mid-1970s.
She was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church in Hyannis and played golf in the women's league at Holly Ridge and Hyannis Golf Club.
She is survived by several cousins.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Church in Hyannis. Burial was in Massachusetts National Cemetery
in Bourne.
Gerald 'Jerry' Bruce Tallman
Green Valley, Ariz. - Gerald "Jerry" Bruce Tallman, of Green Valley and Cotuit, died Dec. 24, 2002, at his home in Arizona.
He was the husband of the late Frances for 67 years.
Mr. Tallman was born in Rockwell City, Iowa. After receiving a doctorate degree in marketing from Northwestern University, he moved to Winchester, Mass. He was a professor of marketing at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for more than 25 years and also became the first director of the Sloan Program, which later became the Sloan School of Management.
He traveled around the world consulting for Arthur D. Little Inc. He and his wife retired to Cotuit in 1974, where he was active in the Men's Club and served on the board of trustees of the Cotuit Library.
Surviving are a son, Carter B. Tallman; three daughters, Susan Walter, Lucy Shannon and Andrea Marrone; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held in June in Cotuit.

Louise D. Barboza, 90
Osterville - Louise D. (Mello) Barboza, 90, of Osterville died Feb. 11, 2003, at Harborside Healthcare in Mashpee after an illness.
She was the wife of the late John Barboza.
Mrs. Barboza was born, raised and educated in Fairhaven. She moved to Osterville in her early 20s and worked for the Schaefer family for many years.
She enjoyed time with family and friends, especially family parties and get-togethers, and liked to make people laugh.
Surviving are a daughter, Dolores Flick of Osterville; a sister, Rose Rodrigues of New Bedford; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Robert Barboza.
A funeral Mass was celebrated in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Wianno Avenue in Osterville.

George Louis Buchanan, 50
Hyannis - George Louis Buchanan, 50, of Hyannis died Feb. 11, 2003, at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis after a long illness.
He was the husband of Virginia E. (Karciauskas) Buchanan since 1988.
Mr. Buchanan was born in Salem and raised and educated in Lynn. He moved to Hyannis from Austin, Texas , in 1983. He worked for the town of Barnstable in the structures and grounds department.
He enjoyed spending time with his family.
Surviving besides his wife are his mother, Virginia (Moroni) Buchanan of Ipswich; a son, Joseph Grady of Hyannis; a brother, Peter Buchanan of Ipswich; a sister, Sharon Smith of Salisbury; two granddaughters; a niece; two nephews; and three great-nephews.

Dorothy E. Childs, 84
South Yarmouth - Dorothy E. (Williams) Childs, 84, of South Yarmouth died Feb. 11, 2003, at Windsor Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
She was the wife of Ernest L. Childs.
Mrs. Childs was born in Lakeville and graduated from Barnstable High School. She opened the first coin-operated Laundromat in Hyannis, worked in the accounting department of Cape Cod Hospital and was a bookkeeper for Childs Electrical Co. and Town & Country Lighting. She retired to Ft. Myers, Fla., with her husband in 1980, and returned to Cape Cod in 1997 to be near her family.
She was a longtime Red Cross volunteer driver.
Surviving besides her husband are a son, Randy E. Childs of Centerville; a daughter, Kathleen C. Hallman of South Yarmouth; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held in John-Lawrence Funeral Home in Marstons Mills.

Meredith McCrea Coyne, 76
Osterville - Meredith McCrea Coyne, 76, of Osterville died Feb. 8, 2003, at Heartstone at Golden Pond in Hopkinton.
She was the wife of the late Lt. Col. Christopher C. Coyne.
Mrs. Coyne graduated from Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School for Girls and lived in Pittsburgh and Jupiter, Fla., for many years before retiring to Osterville in 1972.
She was an avid golfer and member of the Oyster Harbor Golf Club.
She is survived by three daughters, Jennifer McCann of Wayland, Rebecca Lindgard of Needham and Meredith Niles of Truckee, Calif.; a son, John Niles of Groton; a sister, Annie Sullivan of Milton; and four grandchildren.

Meredith Frances Drew, 77
Belfast, Northern Ireland - Meredith Frances Drew, 77, a former Cape resident, died Feb. 6, 2003, at Hospice in Belfast.
She was a native Cape Codder, having graduated from Barnstable High School in 1943, and four years later graduated from Salem State Teachers College.
In 1948, she attained a master's degree from Boston University, and in 1978, earned her doctorate in education from the University of Miami.
She taught at several institutions, including American International College in Springfield, Fisher Junior College, Maynard High School and Waltham High School. She returned to Cape Cod to finish her career as head of the business department at Harwich High School During that period, she also coached girls' track.
In 1984, she retired to Belfast as a result of her involvement with the Irish Children's Program when the children were on the Cape during the summer.
It was at that time that she met Monica Watson, a chaperone with the group and a principal in an elementary school in Belfast, with whom she had lived since retiring.
Ms. Drew traveled to England, Scotland, France, Italy and Austria. She played golf at the Fort William Golf Club in Belfast, serving one years as the ladies' captain.
Surviving are a brother, Harrison T. Drew of Hyannis; two sisters, Janice E. McCarty of Hyannis and Barbara O'Brien of Centerville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held in the spring.
