Debra Edson, 41

ATTLEBORO -- Debra L. Edson, 41, of Leroy Street, died Tuesday at home after a long illness.

Born on March 6, 1960, she was the daughter of Louise (Ballard Eastman) Edson, who cared for her daughter throughout her illness, allowing her daughter to stay at home, and the late Bernard Edson.

Miss Edson had attended public schools until her illness had progressed to a point where schooling had become difficult. She had traveled frequently in her youth to Stow, Maine, to visit her grandfather, Fred Eastman, and had often gone camping trips with her family to New England, Florida and Canada after her father's retirement.

In addition to her mother and caregiver, she is survived by two sisters, Judith Kinzie of Barrington, R.I., and Linda Class of North Attleboro, who also served as her sister's caregiver; two brothers, Ronald Edson of North Attleboro and Gery Edson of Boise, Idaho, and nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Dale Edson.

A funeral will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday from the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck St., followed by a funeral Mass at 9 in St. John the Evangelist Church, 133 North Main St. Burial will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday in Pine Grove Cemetery, Fryburg, Maine.

Alberta Brennan, 72

PLAINVILLE -- Alberta S. Brennan, 72, of Sunset Lane, died Wednesday in Caritas Norwood Hospital, Norwood. She was the wife of George Brennan Sr., to whom she had been married since Sept. 16, 1950.

Born in Boston on Oct. 17, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Marion (McKewen) Stewart. She had resided in Plainville since 1988, previously living in Franklin for 38 years.

Mrs. Brennan had been a homemaker, and had enjoyed cooking, baking, making stuffed animals, and time spent with her family.

In addition to her husband of 50 years, she is survived by a daughter, Patricia Lee Perkins of Hopedale; three sons, George Brennan Jr. of West Palm Beach, Fla., Stephen Brennan of Milford and David Brennan of Franklin; four sisters, Ann Blackwood of Plainville, Dorothy Edwards of Millis, Marion Brennan of Foxboro and Pricilla Banville of West Brookfield; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Charles, Walter and Albert Stewart.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Church, One Church Square, Franklin. Burial will be private.

Arrangements are by the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Ave., Attleboro Falls.

Noreen Montiro, 34

SEEKONK -- Noreen E. Montiro, 34, of Ipswich Street, died Monday in the Women & Infants' Hospital, Providence, after an illness. She was the wife of Earl "Criss" Montiro.

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of Mary Ballanceau of Providence. She had resided in Seekonk for two years.

Mrs. Montiro had been a member of the Faith Christian Center.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by a son, Terence Ballanceau of Seekonk; two daughters, Sade Ballanceau of Seekonk and Tatyania James of Providence and a brother, Jason Ballanceau of Providence.

A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Faith Christian Center, 95 Sagamore Road. Burial will take place in Seekonk Cemetery.

Grace Zeneski, 52, Norton teacher

UXBRIDGE -- Grace M. Zeneski, 52, of Willard Drive, died Monday at the UMass Memorial Healthcare Center, Worcester, after an illness. She was the wife of Joseph Zeneski, to whom she had been married 13 years.

Born in Boston, she was the daughter of Catherine (Grant) McLaughlin of the Jamaica Plain section of Boston and the late John McLaughlin. She had resided in Uxbridge for the past 13 years, previously residing in Mansfield. She was a graduate of the former Boston State College, and received a master's degree from Bridgewater State College.

Mrs. Zeneski had been a first grade teacher at the L.G. Nourse Elementary School in Norton. She had been diagnosed with breast cancer in the summer of 1999 and after a series of surgery and treatments, she returned to her classroom in September 2000. She was then diagnosed with leukemia just before Thanksgiving. After several treatments, she had a relapse of the leukemia, complicated by viral pneumonia, from which she succumbed.

She was actively involved in her community, and had been a regular, vocal attendee of Town Meeting and several school-related committees.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by a son, Kenneth Genatassio of Worcester; two daughters, Laura Alfama of Worcester and Carolyn Genatassio of Storrs, Conn.; a brother, John McLaughlin of Canton and several nephews.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday from St. Mary's Church, 71 Mendon St., followed by burial in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Arrangements are by the Tanorell Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Road.

Lawrence Smith Jr., 73, electrical estimator

ATTLEBORO -- Lawrence G. Smith Jr., 73, a retired electrical estimator, of Greenhill Avenue died Friday at Sturdy Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Barbara A. (Ross) Smith, to whom he had been married for 29 years. He was the widower of the late Violet A. (Hogberg) Smith.

Born in Pawtucket, on Aug. 16, 1929, he was the son of the late Lawrence Smith and the late Helen (Valentine) Smith. He resided in Attleboro for the past 46 years and previously resided in Pawtucket.

Mr. Smith was a 1947 graduate of the former West High School, now Shea High School in Pawtucket. He attended Bryant College in Rhode Island.

He worked as an electrical estimator at the former New England Machine and Electric Co. of Pawtucket for 35 years.

Mr. Smith's career also included stints at Industrial Electric Co. of Cranston, R.I., Lynch Electric Co. of Fall River and J-Tech of Providence.

Mr. Smith was a veteran of the Korean War era, serving as a radio intercept operator stationed in Darmstat, Germany.

He was a member of Evangelical Covenant Church.

Mr. Smith was a former member of Rotary Club of Pawtucket and was an avid skier.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by seven children, Karen Milton of Attleboro, Mark Smith of Pawtucket, John Otis Jr. of Attleboro Falls, Maureen Perry of Rehoboth, Daniel Otis and Timothy W. Otis, both of Dighton, and Christine Vasterling of Attleboro; 16 grandchildren; one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday with a service in Evangelical Covenant Church, 841 North Main St. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.

Arrangements are by Cook-Hathaway Funeral Home, 160 Park St.

Patricia Carmichael, 56, lifelong NA resident

NORTH ATTLEBORO -- Patricia Mary ``Pat" Carmichael, 56, of Jackson Street, Attleboro Falls, died unexpectedly Friday at Caritas Norwood Hospital.

Born in Attleboro on April 24, 1946, she was the daughter of Frederick and Helen (Duffany) Carmichael, both of Attleboro Falls.

Ms. Carmichael was a lifelong resident of North Attleboro and attended North Attleboro public schools.

She attended Grace Episcopal Church in North Attleboro.

Ms. Carmichael was very artistic and enjoyed drawing. She loved music and enjoyed listening to the radio.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sisters, Ann Wade of East Harwich and Pamela Risotti of Attleboro; a brother, Daniel Carmichael of Attleboro Falls, and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Grace Episcopal Church, North Washington Street. The Rev. Maryalice Sullivan will officiate.

Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery and Arboretum, North Attleboro.

Arrangements are by Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Ave., Attleboro Falls.

Collotta Bridge, 71, lifelong NA resident

NORTH ATTLEBORO -- Collotta F. Bridge, 71, of South Washington Street, died Friday at Madonna Manor Nursing Home, where she had been a resident since September. She was the wife of Harold Bridge II, to whom she was married on May 11, 1971.

Born in Attleboro on Oct. 13, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Lela (Payette) Watters. She was a lifelong resident of North Attleboro and was a 1950 graduate of North Attleboro High School.

Mrs. Bridge was formerly employed as an assembler for the Augat Company and had worked at Univis Frame, Ripley and Gowen in Attleboro. At one time she was employed as a telephone operator for the former New England Telephone Co.

She attended Grace Episcopal Church and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and needlepoint.

Mrs. Bridge was a member of the Massachusetts Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

In addition to her husband of 31 years, she is survived by four daughters, Millie LaValley and JoEllen Chambers, both of North Attleboro, Rebecca Casper of Mississippi and Melody Ellis of Colorado; six sons, William Burns of Brockton, Harold Bridge III of Louisiana , David Bridge of Alabama, Donald Bridge of Texas , Thomas Bridge of Missouri, and Burliegh Bridge of Massachusetts; a sister, Joyce Schofied of Rochester, N.Y.; 19 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late Robert Bridge and the sister of the late Robert `` Buck" Watters.

A memorial gathering will be held at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday in Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Ave., Attleboro Falls.

Burial will be private on Martha's Vineyard.

Stanley Nimiroski, 88, longtime NA resident

NORTH ATTLEBORO -- Stanley Nimiroski, 88, of Hoppin Hill Avenue, died Friday at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the widower of Frances J. (Polefka) Nimiroski.

Born in Attleboro, he was a son of the late Joseph and Zofia (Misiaszek) Nimiroski. He lived in North Attleboro for the past 70 years.

Before retiring, he was employed as a stationary engineer for Evans Case and later for the Attleboro Die and Finishing Co. After his retirement, he was employed by Willow Tree Poultry Farm. He was an avid gardener.

He is survived by two sons, Stanson G. Nimiroski of Branford, Conn., and Philadelphia, and Stephen Nimiroski of Attleboro. He is also survived by one sister, Rose Belecki of Angola, N.Y.; two granddaughters, three great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late John, Victor and Josephine Nimiroski.

His funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday from the Karol A. Romenski & Sons Funeral Home, 342 High St., Central Falls, with a High Mass of Requiem in Holy Cross Church, High Street, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Seekonk.

Dorothy M. King, 83, lab technician

ATTLEBORO -- Dorothy "Dottie" M. King, 83, of Bradenton, Fla., and Wiscasset, Maine, died Friday at the Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine. She was the widow of Paul E. King and Francis Frietas.

She was born in Attleboro, on April 2, 1920, a daughter of the late John and Mary Ann (Shepard) Soper.

She was educated in Attleboro schools and was a graduate of Attleboro High School.

Mrs. King had worked as a laboratory technician for Dr. Auerbach and Dr. Brown on West Street in Attleboro. Later, she was employed for more than 10 years by Johnson & Johnson Co. in Los Angeles, where she retired.

She had lived in Attleboro for many years, and enjoyed bingo and crafts.

Survivors include three sister-in-laws, Marie Soper of Plainville, Muriel Soper of Attleboro, and Hazel Mundrick of Williamsport, Penn.; and 14 nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late John Soper, Arthur Soper, Harold Soper, Mary Soper, Lillian Clinton and Helen Bailey.

A funeral will be held at 8 a.m. Wednesday from the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck St., Attleboro.

A funeral Mass will follow at 9 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church, 133 North Main St., Attleboro.

Burial will be held Thursday at Wildwood Cemetery, Williamsport.
