Effie Julia Doucette 95, of Waltham died Thursday morning at the Deaconess - Waltham Hospital.
Born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, she has been a Waltham resident for the past 27 years moving here from Watertown where she had resided for more than 50 years.
The daughter of the late William & Lucy Doucette, she was the sister of the late Matilda Doucette, Delvina Doucette, Mary Doucette & John Doucette.
She is survived by her daughter, Mrs Paul J. ( H. Irene ) Milinazzo of Waltham, her brother, Joseph Doucette of Sydney, Nova Scotia, her Granddaughters, Mrs John ( Janet ) House of Maine, Mrs Kenneth ( Paula ) Cummings of Oregon, & Mrs Dallas ( Lisa ) Milinazzo-Brennan of New York and in addition she leaves 6 Great Grandchildren and many several Nieces & Nephews.
Services will be held Monday morning at 9: 00 a.m. from the Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, Waltham with a Mass of Christian burial at the Sacred Heart Church, 31 River Street, Waltham at 10: 00 a.m. Interment will follow at Grove Hill Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting Hours will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. Flowers are appreciated or expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society , 30 Speen Street, Framingham, Ma. 01701 or to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, Ma. 01701. Parking attendants will be on duty.

Joseph Susi
1948 - 2000
Joseph Salvatore Susi of Malden, died Saturday September 30, 2000 in the Mass General Hospital in Boston after a long illness. He was 51.
He was born and raised in Waltham, before moving to Malden over 20 years ago.
Mr. Susi was a member of the MMA. During his youth he played football for the Waltham High School and received a football scholarship.
He was son of the Evelyn (Lisa) Susi and the late Nerio Susi of Waltham.
Husband of Mary Ann (Polito) Susi, he is survived by his son Joseph S. Susi, Jr. of Everett and Diana Rindone of Plum Island, his sister Mary Ann Crane of Waltham. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and two grandchildren.
Services will be held from the Brasco & Sons Memorial 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM, on Wednesday morning at 9: 00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicated Church, 857 Trapelo Road, Waltham at 10: 00 a.m. Interment will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.

Virginia Gilbert
Virginia B. Gilbert died at her home Friday, May 19, 2000. She was 78 years old.
She was the wife of the late Edward J. Gilbert. She was born in Waltham, MA, the daughter of the late Howard and Blanche (Giles) Stevens. Mrs. Gilbert is survived by her two daughters, Mrs. Louis & Virginia Cloutier of Wells, ME., and Jane Gilbert, also of Maine. She also leaves her granddaughter, Christine Thebeau-Solimine and her husband Diego Solimine of Hudson, MA.
Mrs. Gilbert was a homemaker and enjoyed reading.
Services will be held from the Brasco and Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, Waltham, on Wednesday morning at 9: 30 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church, Waltham at 10: 30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Interment Mount Peake Cemetery, Waltham. Parking attendants will be on duty.

Sam Spileos
1924 - 2000
Sam Spileos Sr., 76, died Monday May 29, 2000 at Saint Elizabeth's Hospital in Brighton. Born in Boston, he was raised in the South End and had moved to Newton 44 years ago.
Mr. Spileos was founder and operator of Sam's Beef and Ale House, one of Boston's well known restaurants located in the Theater District and was a landmark there for more than 25 years until his retirement. He was known to entertain many of the stars of the theater and their patrons for a quarter of a centruy. Mr. Spileos operated the restaurant with his wife and family.
He graduated from Boston University Class of 1954, after which he and his brother the late Louis Spileos founded and operated Spileos Brothers Construction Company, specializing in restaurant construction; they built many of Boston's finer restaurants. Sam was active for a quarter of a century with the Theater District Neighborhood Association.
He was a Past Master of the Boston University Lodge of Masons, and very active with the Boston Lafayette Lodge of Perfection and Mass Consistory, a member of the Norembega-Brookline Lodge, A.F. & A.M., a 33rd Degree Mason, a member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry and the Aleppo Temple of the Shrine.
In addition, he was a member of the George K. Menichios Post #324, American Legion of Boston, and a former member of the Massachusetts Restaurant Association.
He was the son of the late Evangelos and Anastasia (Demetres) Spileos, and the brother of the late Claire Callindes and Louis Spileos.
He is survived by his wife Lillian M. (Reynolds) Spileos, his children Sheila A. Long of Bellingham, Robert E. Spileos of Boston, Pamela E. Masters of Charlestown, and Sam Spileos Jr., of Newton, his sisters, Helen O'Niell of Braintree and Pauline Naoum of Dorchester. In addition he leaves two grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held Thursday morning at 11: 00 AM in the Chapel of the Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, Waltham. Interment will follow at Newton Cemetery. Visiting hours will e at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Flowers are appreciated or expressions of sympathy may be made in Sam's memory to the charity of your choice.

Biagio Pulsone
1915 - 2000
Biagio Pulsone, 85, of Waltham, MA died Monday, May 29, 2000 at the Deaconess Waltham Hospital.
Born in Campobasso, Boiano, Italy, he had been a Waltham resident for the past 42 years.
Mr. Pulsone was a retired carpenter, having been employed for many years with Detail Mill Works of Waltham until his retirement.
He was the son of the late Salvatore and Maria Antonia (Romano) Pulsone.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Anna (Scioli) Pulsone, his sons, Nicola Pulsone of West Newton and Antonio Pulsone of Weston, his sisters, Angeline Scinocco and Maria Christina Colalillo, both of Italy, and his brothers, Antonio Pulsone and Domenico Pulsone, both of Canada. In addition, he leaves six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Wednesday moning at 8: 00 AM from the Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, Waltham with a Mass of Christian Burial at the Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham at 10: 00 AM. Interment will follow at Grove Hill Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting hours will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 30, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Parking attendants will be on duty.

Rose Mobilia
1910 - 2000
Rose (DeMarco) Mobilia of Waltham died at the Sharon Senior Care Center on Friday, June 2, 2000; she was 90 years old.
She was born and raised and lived in Waltham all her life; she worked as a secretary for Waltham Watch Company and Waltham Hospital for many years. Mrs. Mobilia was an active member of the Sons of Italy in Waltham. She enjoyed knitting and reading.
She was the wife of the late Patsy Mobilia, Jr. She was the daughter of the late Luigi and Maria (DiPhilipis) DeMarco, loving mother and grandmother of Jeanne and Sam Vilgiate of California; Pat Mobilia and Mary Lynch of Sharon and their children Maria Mobilia, Stephen Mobilia, Mark Mobilia, and Erin O’Handley, Eric Mobilia and Buffy Cope, and Kristen Mobilia; Sally and Blix Jones of Virginia and their children, Ashley and Heather Jones. Loving sister of Josephine Miele and Theresa LaCava of Waltham, and the late Filemina Demeo, Mary Gilberti and Louise Ciano. Also survived by four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held from the Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, Waltham, on Monday at 9: 00 AM, with a Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church, Waltham at 10: 00 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 5-8 PM. Interment at Mount Peake Cemetery, Waltham, MA. Parking attendants will be on duty.

Elizabeth Benotti
1913 - 2000
Elizabeth T. “Betty” Benotti 87 of Weston died Friday at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after a brief illness.
Born in Weston, Massachusetts she has been a life long resident. Mrs. Benotti had been employed for more than 20 years in the Manufacturing Bindery division of the Potter Press & more than 20 years for the Atlantic Business Forms.
For many years she was active with the Waltham Woman of the Moose # 1018, and company bowling leagues. Family & friends often marveled at her dedication as an avid Red Sox Fan and her knowledge of players. She was the daughter of the late Antonio & Anna ( Cristofori ) Benotti, sister of the late Armando Benotti, Aldo Benotti & Clara Gorman.
She is survived by her son, Weston Police Officer Ronald E. Benotti & his wife Lorraine ( Castellano ) Benotti of Weston, her sisters, Lena Carlman & Mary Carlman both of Hyannis, Mrs Harold (Ida) Klee of North Carolina, Mrs Salvatore (Alda) Carmisciano & Mrs Samuel (Louise j Moore both of Ocala, Florida. In addition she leaves 3 Grandchildren & many Nieces & Nephews.
Services will be held Wednesday morning at 8: 00 a.m. from the Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, Waltham with a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Julia’s Church, Weston Ctr., at 9: 00 AM. Interment will follow at Linwood Cemetery, Weston. Visiting Hours will be at the funeral home on Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Flowers are appreciated or expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the West Suburban Elder Care Services, 124 Watertown Street, Watertown, Ma. 02472. Parking attendants will be on duty.

Moheb El-Masry
1933 - 2000
DR. MOHEB EL-MASRY M.D., 67 of Fort Lauderdale, died early Saturday morning June 3, 2000 in the Cleveland Clinic in Fort Lauderdale after a short illness, He was 67.
Born and raised In Cairo, Egypt, Dr4 El-Masry received his M.D. from Cairo University and 1952 immigrated to the United States where he completed his residency in Virginia and his fellowship at Saint John’s Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. El-Masry held degrees In Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and Pathology.
In 1959, he married and moved to Qulncy, Massachusetts and practiced pathology at Quincy City Hospital. Shortly thereafter, Dr. El-Masry moved to Waltham, Massachusetts where he maintained his residence until 1998. He was employed at Metropolitan State Hospital in Waltham as a pathologist. During this time he taught courses in Pathology at Harvard University Medical School in Boston.
During his career, Moheb "Moe" also managed a busy private practice in internal medicine as well as serving on the emergency room staff at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford until his retirement In 1997. He was a brilliant man and caring physician who was loved by not only his patients but also everyone who came in contact with him. His unselfishness and dedication to his family was paramount in his life.
He is survived by his loving wife Christy (Richardson) El-Masry, his daughter Lynda Burgess of North Carolina, his sons Steven El-Masry of Hanson, Mass., and John El-Masry of Miami, FL. His brother Momdouh Yaakob of New York, and sister Sourya El-Masry of Egypt Loving grandfather of Christy Ann, Harris, Eric, Sabrina, and Jenna.
He was father of the late Tracey LI-Masry.
Services will be held from the Brasco &. Sons Memorial 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM, on Wednesday morning at 9: 00 a.m. with a Mass of ChristIan Burial at Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 857 Trapelo Road, Waltham at 10: 00 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be in Newton Cemetery, Newton. Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.

Victor Yerardi
1934 - 2000
Victor A. Yerardi 66, of Weston died Saturday at the Newton-Wellesley Hospital after a long illness.
Born in Newton, Massachusetts he has been a resident of Weston for the past 21 years, previously having lived in Newton & Natick
Mr. Yerardi has been the proprietor of Weston Automotive Garage for more than 50 years.
Mr. Yerardi was a loving husband, father & grandfather.
Having spent his entire life in the automotive business, he had a passion for restoring classic cars, from the Packard automobile used for the movie "The Great Gatsby" to the famous Dean Van Lines Indy Roadster. He was known throughout the country in racing circles as a Racecar restoration expert.
He was a life long race car enthusiast who attended 50 Indy 500 races, and in 1990 served as a pit crew member for Galen Fox in the Indy 500 race.
He was founder and the sponsor of Weston Antique car show, and was an instrumental founder of the open wheel NHIS vintage celebration.
A true racer in all forms he sponsored a Winston Cup Car, and was active in vintage races from coast to coast.
Some of the many clubs he was involved in included Lifetime member of Williams Grove old timers, a member of the Ty-Rods, USAC Auto Club, member and numerous other clubs across the country. He also was an active supporter of several local and regional civic organizations and held a passion for youth; being an avid hockey fan, he was the founder of the Natick Comets.
He was tbe son of the late Joseph Yerardi.
He is survived by his wife, Rosalie (McCarthy) Yerardi, his children, Steve Yerardi of Hudson, Denise Carroll of Hampton, N.H., Stephen Carroll of Seabrook, N.H., Mrs. Andrew (Kathleen Carroll) Faddoul of Marlboro, Mrs. Paul (Vicky) O’Reilly of Taunton, Mrs. Shawn (Michelle ) Anderson & Ted Yerardi of Natick, his mother Florence (Lancellotte) Blaisdell of Newton, his brothers, Ronald Yerardi & Francis Yerardi both of Newton. In addition be is survived by 11 Grandchildren, Many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces & Nephews and “Indy”.
Services will be held Friday morning at 9: 00 am. from the Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, Waltham with a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Julia’s Church, Weston Ctr., at 10: 00 a.m. Interment will be private. Visiting Hours will be at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 7-9 p.m. & Thursday 4 - 8 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to the Dana - Farber’s Tribute Program, One Harvard Street, Brookline, Ma. 02146.. Parking attendants will be on duty.
