Edward F. Lewis, of Rockland June 11, 2005 Age 83. Husband of the late Muriel L. (Doherty). Father of Karen M. Deegan of Rockland. Brother of Robert & Willard Lewis of FL, John Lewis of Bridgewater, Sally Brunke of Rockland and Pauline Warren of Bridgewater. Grandfather of Glenn E. Deegan of Milton, Laura M. Crossen of Rockland and Mark E. Deegan of VA. Beloved Uncle of Judy Rasmussen. Also survived by 4 Great Grandchildren.
A Funeral Service was held in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home 135 Union St. ROCKLAND Wednesday June 15th at 10: 00 AM. Calling hours were held Tuesday June 14th from 6-8 PM.
Edward died unexpectedly Saturday Morning in the Hollywell Nursing Home in Randolph. Mr. Lewis was born raised and educated in Rockland. He had worked for over 35 years for the Baystate Ice Cream Company in Abington where he was the night foreman. His crew took apart cleaned and put back together all the ice cream machines every night After leaving that job he worked in the warehouse for Angelo’s in Hanover for 10 years.
Mr. Lewis loved sports, enjoyed playing golf and loved the local horse races. In his younger years he could always be found at his grandchildren sporting events lending a helping hand. He was a “Big Kid At Heart”.
Ed was a WWII Coast Guard Veteran, a member of the Abington VFW and the Hanover American Legion Post. Rev. Don Remick conducted the Funeral Service. Burial followed in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Rockland.

Frances J. (Marvin) Mullin, of Rockland, June 9, 2005 Age 79. Mother of Michael T. Hutson of N.J., Janet D. Bemis of Bridgewater, Mark F. Hutson of Canton, Elizabeth A. Slobodkin of Canton, Paul B. Mullin of Canton, Penny B. Richardi of N.H., Amy J. Badger of Brockton, Kerri J. Smith of Rockland, and the late Angela J Mullin. Survived by 23 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Calling hours were held in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home 135 Union St. ROCKLAND on Sunday June 12, from 4-7 PM. They were followed by a funeral service at the close of visitation.
Frances died on Thursday at the Norwell Knoll Nursing Home after a period of failing health. She was the daughter of the late Frederick and Harriet Marvin. She was raised and educated in Holbrook where she graduated from Holbrook High School. Frances would later move to Rockland where she would spend the next 44 years. She loved to spend time with her family, and to watch her grandchildren grow. Mrs. Mullin loved the Ocean, especially Saquish beach in Plymouth where she loved to spend time in the summer. Frances’ hobbies also included reading romance novels, knitting, crocheting, and crossword puzzles. Funeral services will be followed by cremation.

Mary J. (DiGangi) Angelos, 88, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died at the Copley at Stoughton Nursing Home after a period of failing health. Born in Boston, Mrs. Angelos attended Stoughton Schools. She was also a member of Daughters of Italy in Stoughton. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, time at home and with her family. Mrs. Angelos was the wife of the late Theodore Angelos. She is survived by 2 daughters, Theresa M. Leonard of Stoughton and Patricia L. Marotta of Middleboro; 2 sons, William J. Angelos of Stoughton and Theodore E. Angelos of Falmouth; a sister Dora Tracy of Ojoi, CA, 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was also the sister of the late Anna Porcaro, Susie Zucco, Adolph DiGangi and Bernard DiGangi. Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (RT. 27) Stoughton onMonday at 8: 15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 9 AM. Karen A. Campbell, a life long resident of Stoughton, died unexpectedly Saturday December 2 at Caritas Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton. She was 49. She was the mother of Joshua L and his wife Susan M. of Franklin. Born in Brighton, she was a graduate of Stoughton Schools and Goddard Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Hellenic Nursing Home and as a private duty nurse. She also worked as a Billing Clerk at Dedham Medical Associates. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, crocheting and photography. Karen was the daughter of Eileen P. (Doran) Campbell of Stoughton and the late Walter V. Jr. In addition, she leaves her siblings Suzanne Simms and her husband Paul of Natick, W. Vincent Campbell and his wife Claudia of FL, Audrey E. Norris and her husband the late Gifford of Plymouth, Paula J. of Stoughton and Lisa E. and her fiance Andy Robb of Yarmouth. She was the niece of Virginia "Tippy" Dempsey of Stoughton and Jean M. Rose of Taunton and was predeceased by her dear friend Robert E. Cummings. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and her two grandchildren Juliana and Jenna.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rt. 27) STOUGHTON, on Thursday December 7 at 9: 45 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at the Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10: 15 AM. Visiting hours Wednesday December 6 from 4-8 PM. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery and will be private.

Jane T. (McElaney) Connolly, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Monday Nov. 27 at the Goddard Center. She was 84. She was the wife of Arthur F. Connolly. Born in Boston, she attended Charlestown and Dorchester Schools. She worked as a clerk at the Watertown Arsenal until 1952, and then became a housewife and mother. In addition to her husband, she leaves her two sons, Thomas M. of Easton, and Michael S. of NH, and her siblings, Dorothy Feehley of Brockton, Charles McElaney of FL, Alfred McElaney of Randolph, James McElaney of Dedham, Joseph McElaney of OH, Emily Gilot of Randolph, Mary Wall of Acton, Anne Fitzgerald of Framingham and the late Patrick McElaney and Francis McElaney. She is also survived by her 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rt. 27)STOUGHTON, on Thursday at 8: 15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at the Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 9 AM. Doris M. (Bond) Lorenz, died Tuesday, Dec. 5 at New England Sinai Hospital in Stoughton after a period of failing health. She was 68. Mrs. Lorenz was born in Boston and grew up in West Roxbury. She was educated at St. Thomas High School in Jamaica Plain. She has lived in Stoughton for 40 years. Mrs. Lorenz worked as a secretary at MIT for 10 years before working at William J. O'Brien Insurance in Canton for 15 years. She's been retired for 4 years. Mrs. Lorenz was a member of the Stoughton Catholic Women's Guild at the Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton and the St. Gerard Majella Church Prayer Group in Canton. She also was a volunteer at the VA Hospital in Brockton and the Chernobyl Children's Project. She also enjoyed dancing, crafts, golf and bowling. Mrs. Lorenz is the wife of William J. Lorenz. She is the mother of Ann M. Lorenz of Stoughton, Karen B. Ewing and her husband Scott of Easton, Patricia E. Schlottman and her husband Arnie of Colorado, Janice M. Bowers and her husband Phil of Quincy and Paula J. Lorenz of Quincy. She is the proud "Nandee" of McKenna R. Ewing. Mrs. Lorenz is also survived by 2 brothers, William C. Bond of Florida and Vincent H. Bond of W. Roxbury, and a sister Marie K. Damon of Hyde Park. She is preceded in death by her brother Lawrence Bond.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rt. 27) STOUGHTON, on Saturday, Dec. 9 at 9: 30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. John the Evangelist Church, Canton at 10: 30 AM. Visiting hours Thursday 5-8 PM and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Canton. Charles C. Ahern, 79, died Monday, March 12 at Cranberry Specialty Unit at Goddard Center for Transitional Care in Stoughton after a period of failing health. Mr. Ahern was the husband of Mary E. (Heirty). Born and educated in Boston, Mr. Ahern has lived in Stoughton for 47 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, where he was Staff Sergeant for the 60th Fighter Squadron. Mr. Ahern was the owner of Ahern Jewelers and Opticians in Stoughton for many years before becoming the Director for Stoughton Housing Authority. He retired almost 10 years ago. He was Past Grand Knight at Knights of Columbus Council 200 in Stoughton, as well as a member of the Board of Directors and Building Committee at Council 200. Mr. Ahern was a former Chairman of Board of Selectman in Stoughton as well as being Past President of Junior Chamber of Commerce and a member of Chamber of Commerce in Stoughton. He was also a member of the Democratic Town Committee in Stoughton, Stoughton Lions Club, Toastmasters Club, Holy Name Society and American Legion Post 89 in Stoughton. He was one of the founders of STOYAC(Stoughton Youth Athletic Club).
Along with his wife Mary, Mr. Ahern is survived by his children, Mary Ellen Rubenzahl of Neversink, NY and Charles C., Jr. of Hollywood, FL and his grandchildren, Christopher Jardin of New York City, Daniel Jardin of Boston, Michelle Ahern Mischley of Mansfield, Danielle, Brendan and Megan all of Hollywood, FL. He was predeceased by 7 brothers and 2 sisters.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rt. 27) STOUGHTON, on Friday, March 16 at 9: 15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Stoughton at 10 AM. Visiting hours Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Stoughton. Thomas H. Cohenno, 89, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Friday at BayPointe Rehabilitation Center in Brockton. He was the husband of Marie A. (Carey). Born in Stoughton, he was a graduate of Stoughton High. He worked as a truckdriver for Jenkins Transport and Cohenno Trucking in Stoughton for many years. He was a member of Local 25 and enjoyed sports.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children John J. of Stoughton, and Marilyn Walters of AZ. He was also the father of the late Thomas H. Jr. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rt. 27) STOUGHTON, on Monday April 2 at 9 AM. Visiting hours Sunday April 1 from 2-5 PM. Donations in Tom’s memory may be sent to Jimmy Fund, 44 Binney St., Boston, 02215. Burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.

Francis J. Croke, 71, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Tuesday at New England Sinai Hospital in Stoughton after a brief illness. He was the husband of Ellen M. (Coughlin). Born in Boston, he was raised there and was a graduate of Roxbury Memorial. He was a veteran of the US Army in the Korean Era where he obtained the rank of seargent. He worked for the City of Boston for many years and retired in 1990 as the Chief Rehabilitation Specialist in the Building Dept. After his retirement from the City, he worked for R & R Sales in Dorchester as a salesman. He was the past president of the Stoughton Babe Ruth.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his son Shawn and his wife Stacey of W. Roxbury. He is also survived by many loving relatives and friends.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rt. 27) STOUGHTON, on Friday, March 23 at 9: 15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at the Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10: 15 AM. Visiting hours Thursday March 22 from 5-9 PM.

Manuel DeSousa, 53, died Wednesday, March 14 at home after a lengthy illness. Mr. DeSousa was the husband of Maria Elena (DeSousa). Born and educated in Santa Maria, Azores, Portugal, he moved to Stoughton in 1973. He worked maintenance for Phillips Screw in Stoughton for over 10 years. He was also former President of Holy Ghost of the Azores in Stoughton and a member of the San Joao Club in Stoughton.
Along with his wife Maria, he is survived by his daughter Ana V. Raymond and her husband Shawn of Easton, his mother Virginia Soares Sousa of Stoughton, 2 grandchildren, Corey J. Raymond and Brandon F. Raymond and a sister and brother, Maria Conceicao Sousa and Jose S. DeSousa both of Stoughton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Jose B. Sousa.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rt. 27) STOUGHTON, on Saturday, March 17 at 9: 30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at the Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10: 15 AM. Visiting hours Friday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Burial will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Stoughton.

Edward K. Nash, 52, died at Brockton Hospital Friday, March 23 after a brief illness. Mr. Nash was a resident of Brockton for many years and also lived in E. Bridgewater for a few years. He was educated in Brockton schools and worked as a mechanic and welder for the City of Brockton for 25 years before retiring in 1996. He was also a former member of the Protector’s Club of Brockton. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing.
Mr. Nash is survived by his loving companion Lillian M. Atkinson of Brockton, and his brothers and sisters Gail Gabriele of Whitman, Kenneth and Donald both of Brockton, Brenda Donahue of Brockton, Paul of Raynham and Peter of E. Bridgewater. He was predeceased by his brothers David, Robert and Daniel. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rt. 27) STOUGHTON, on Tuesday, March 27 at 10 AM. Visiting hours Monday 5-8 PM. Donations in Edward’s memory may be sent to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, 01701. Burial will be at Beaver Cemetery in E. Bridgewater.

Louis F. Roman, 84, a resident of Stoughton, died at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston on Thursday, March 22. Born in Beverly, Mr. Roman was a graduate of Boston English High School and Suffolk University in Boston with a LLB Degree. He has lived in Stoughton since 1958. Mr. Roman was employed by the Boston Law Book Co. prior to entering the service in February 1942.
Mr. Roman served with the 104th Infantry Regiment, 26th INF Division and took part in the savage fighting at the Battle of the Bulge in World War II. He earned the Combat Infantry Badge, the Bronze Star, 4 Battle Stars and a European African Middle Eastern Campaign Ribbon. Mr. Roman worked for Gerber Baby Food Co. after the war as a salesman for many years. He retired in 1981.Mr. Roman was an active member of the 104th INF Assn., as well as a former member of St. Mark’s Post in Dorchester, American Legion Post 89 in Stoughton and the Toastmasters Club of Stoughton.
He is survived by his wife Ellen S. (Simpson) as well as 3 sons, David L. of Bridgewater, Walter J. of Mason, NH and Paul S. of Foxboro. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Frances White .
Funeral Service will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rt. 27) STOUGHTON, on Monday, March 26 at 11 AM. Visiting hours prior to service from 10-11 AM. Donations in Louis’ memory may be sent to Avon Baptist Church, N. Main St., Avon 02322. Burial will be at VA National Cemetery in Bourne.

John F. “Joe” Ryan, 96, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Thursday at the Braemoor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Brockton. He was the husband of the late Catherine (Niven). Born in Brookline, he was a graduate of Boston Schools. A longtime resident of Dorchester, he moved to Stoughton and lived there for over 30 yrs. He worked for the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Co. on Northern Ave in Boston for 39 yrs and retired at age 65. He was very active at St. Leo’s Holy Name Society in Dorchester and St. Gabriel’s Retreat House in Brighton. Above all he enjoyed his family.
He was the father of Richard F. and his wife Jacqueline of FL, Jean C. Chaples and her husband Robert and Barbara M. Clements and her husband the late Leonard all of Stoughton. He was the brother of the late Francis and Robert, grandfather of the late Karen Clements and Great grandfather of the late Robin Ryan. He leaves his dear Friend Sr. Teresa Leonard, O. Carm of Framingham and is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rt. 27) STOUGHTON, on Monday April 2 at 9: 15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at the Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10: 15 AM. Visiting hours Sunday April 1, 2-5 PM. Donations in Joe’s memory may be sent to Make-a-Wish Foundation, 295 Devonshire St., Boston, 02110.

Margaret (Pelosi) Sapienza, 83, died Friday March 30 at the St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Brighton. She was the wife of Frank Sapienza. Born in Boston, she lived in Everett for many years before moving to Brockton. She was a resident of Brockton for many years. She worked as a homemaker.
In addition to her husband, she leaves her children: Marlene Kiely and Christine Fisher both of Brockton and Frank R. Jr of Stoughton. She was predeceased by her son, Sonny. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren
Services will be private at the request of the family. Burial will take place at St.Michael’s Cemetery, Boston.
