Matthew F. Allison, 90, died at the Blue Hills Alzheimer's Care Center in Stoughton on Friday, December 24 after a period of failing health. He was the husband of Barbara E. (Gangloff) Allison. Born in Danvers, Mr. Allison was a graduate of Beverly High School Class of 1930 and New England Aircraft School in Boston. He resided in Centerville for 25 years after residing in Beverly for many years. Mr. Allison was a manager at Forbes Lithograph in Chelsea for 49 years before retiring in 1979. He was very active with the Massachusetts AARP, where he was former Regional Director for the Cape and Islands and Assistant State Director. He was a deacon at Federated Church of Hyannis for many years. He was an avid candlepin bowler for many years.
In addition to his wife Barbara, Mr. Allison is survived by his children, Susan E. Allison-Tolan of Stoughton, Earl T. Allison of Danvers and John R. Allison of Needham, as well as his grandchildren, Earl T. Allison, II and Ian J. Allison. He is also survived by 2 nieces and 1 nephew.
Memorial Service will be held at the Federated Church of Hyannis, 320 Main St., Hyannis on Saturday, January 22 at 11 AM. Visiting Hours omitted. PATTIE D. (DIZE) RYTTEN

Pattie D. (Dize) Rytten, 73, died at Life Care Center of West Bridgewater on Wednesday, January 12. Born in Crisfield, MD, she was educated in Baltimore Schools. Mrs. Rytten resided in Brockton since 1982. She was the Assistant to the Vice President of a medical billing company in Canton for 15 years before retiring 12 years ago. She was a member of the Chatham Chatters in Brockton and an avid Beano player.
Mrs. Rytten is survived by her daughter, Barbara R. Sherman and her husband David of Easton and her granddaughter, Sydney M. Sherman.
Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday from 4-7 PM. Funeral Services will take place in Maryland followed by interment at Parkwood Cemetery

JOHN E. GAMBALE

John E. Gambale, 59, died Thursday, January 12 at his home after a long illness. He was the husband of Peggy Ann (North). Born in Everett, he was educated in Everett and a graduate of Everett Vocational School. He was a resident of Raynham for over 28 years. Mr. Gambale was a Tractor Trailer Driver for many years for Ris Paper in Mansfield and also for Unisource. Previously, he worked at Concord Steel in Everett for over 16 years. He was a member of Teamsters Local 251 in Providence. John also worked for various funeral homes in the area. In his free time, he enjoyed traveling in his motor home and above all, spending time with his granddaughters.
In addition to his wife Peggy, he is survived by his children, Margaret Gambale Chassey and her husband Mark E. of E. Taunton and Lisa M. of Rehoboth. He was the Beloved Grandfather of Elizabeth Mary Chassey and Emma Rose Chassey. He is predeceased by his sisters; Helen Folsom, Ruth DiBlasi and Patricia Gambale Mull. He is also survived by 2 brothers in law.
Funeral services will be held in the First Congregational Church of Raynham, 785 S. Main St., Raynham on Friday at 10 AM. Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday from 4-8 PM. Interment will take place at Mayflower Cemetery

Eugene H. LaCroix, 87, died at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro on Saturday, January 8 after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Eileen T. (Flanagan) LaCroix. A lifelong resident of Attleboro, he was educated in Attleboro schools. Mr. LaCroix was an auto mechanic at the former Nerney Motor Sales in Attleboro before working as a supervisor in the Personnel Department at New England Telephone & Telegraph and then Bell Atlantic in Providence, RI for 35 years before retiring in 1981. He conducted Driver Safety Programs for the company and guest lectured on driver safety at several local fire departments. He was a lifelong communicant and usher at Holy Ghost Parish in Attleboro and a former member of St. Vincent DePaul Society.
Mr. LaCroix is survived by his children, Eugene E. LaCroix of E. Bridgewater, Joan E. Cahill of Colchester, CT and Robert P. LaCroix of Boston. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife Eileen, he was preceded in death by his parents, Philias and Angelina (Cote) LaCroix and his brother, George H. LaCroix. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

PATRICIA A. (MULLEN) MacDONALD

Patricia A. (Mullen) MacDonald, 57, died at Brockton Hospital after a period of failing health. She was born and educated in Newton and resided there until moving to Brockton 8 years ago. She was a housewife at home with her family.
Ms. MacDonald is survived by her daughter, Kimberley A. Weinstein of Stoughton, her grandchildren, Jonathan and Casandra Weinstein and Matthew Snyder and her sister, Jody Podzka of Brockton. She is also survived by her longtime companion Donald Podzka of Brockton, her niece, Tracy Mullen and several nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Mullen.
Graveside Service will be offered at Evergreen Cemetery, Washington St., Stoughton on Wednesday at 11 AM. Visiting Hours omitted. Arrangements by Farley Funeral Home, Stoughton.
MARIE J. (CAREW) GIANNI

Marie J. (Carew) Gianni, 74, died Wednesday, January 5 at home after a long illness. She was the wife of Angelo J. "Joe" Gianni. Born in Cohasset, she was raised in Hingham and attended Hingham Schools. As a young girl, she moved to Hillsboro, NH and graduated from Hillsboro Schools. Mrs. Gianni worked as an Administrative Assistant for Johnson & Johnson in Westwood for 5 years and then the Massachusetts Hospital School in Canton until her retirement in 1995. She was a member of Mass. Audubon Society, Appalachian Mountain Club and was the founder of the Brook Meadow Women's Golf League. She was an accomplished organist and pianist and formerly was the organist at the New England Sinai Hospital and Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton. An avid outdoorswoman, she enjoyed gardening, skiing, golf and vacationing with her family in Pine Point Beach in Maine. She also enjoyed going to the symphony.
In addition to her husband Angelo J. "Joe" Gianni, she is survived by her sons Robert J. and his wife Patricia of Redding, CT and Edward J. and his wife Erin of E. Bridgewater. She was the sister of Joseph Carew of Sterling, Paul Carew, Richard Carew, James Carew, Catherine Sullivan, and Anne Carew all of NH and the late John Carew, Thomas Carew and Robert Carew. She was the cherished Grandmother of Matthew W., Lauren E., Catherine R., William J. and Olivia M. Gianni. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday at 8: 15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 9 AM. DIANNE M. (HILL) FLEENOR

Dianne M. (Hill) Fleenor, 48, died Sunday at her sister's home surrounded by her family after a short illness. Born in Boston, she was a graduate of Brockton Schools. Mrs. Fleenor was a resident of Bridgewater for over six years. Previously, she was a resident of Stoughton, Brockton and Weymouth. Mrs. Fleenor worked as a Manager for New England Farms and Mobil Mart in Middleboro and Raynham for over 10 years. Previously, she worked for Abington Savings Bank and at numerous area nursing homes. She had completed her Certified Nurses Aide Certificate. In her free time, she enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.
She leaves her 2 sons, Thomas J. Jr. of Weymouth and Glenn M. of Bridgewater. She was the daughter of the late Kenneth A. Hill and Margaret (Mahoney). She was the devoted sister of Robert W. Hill and his wife Maryann of Easton, Kenneth A. Hill and his wife June of Bridgewater, John A. Hill and his wife Dixie of NC, Virginia R. (Hill) Liss and her husband Robert of Middleboro, Richard D. Hill of Boston and Debra V. (Hill) Meireles and her husband John of Raynham. She was the former wife of Thomas J. Fleenor. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Rosalia "Lena" (Giambanco) Balsamo, 98, died at home in Canton on Thursday, December 30. She was the wife of the late Antonio Balsamo. Born and educated in Italy, Mrs. Balsamo was a resident of Canton for over 20 years after living in Dorchester for many years. She was a housewife at home with her family.
Mrs. Balsamo is survived by her children, Salvatore Balsamo and his wife Yvonne of Dover and Rosalie Monahan and her husband Joseph of Canton. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Robert Campagna and her daughter-in-law, Bertha Balsamo, as well as 20 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Antonio, she was preceded in death by her children, Mary Dearborn, Catherine "Tina" Campagna and Charles Balsamo and her brother, Peter Giambanco.

SHARON W. (WEATHERBEE) JOHNSON

Sharon W. (Weatherbee) Johnson, 71, died at Braemoor Rehabilitation Center in Brockton on Thursday, December 30. She was the wife of the late Cedric S. Johnson. A lifelong resident of Brockton, Mrs. Johnson was a graduate of Brockton High School, Class of 1950. She was a switchboard operator at Brockton Businessmen's Exchange for 20 years before retiring over 20 years ago. She was an avid Bingo player.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her children, Karen S. Johnson of Easton, Paula J. Johnson of Brockton and Brenda L. Herlihy and her husband Michael of Fairhaven, as well as her sister, Carolyn DiCroce of E. Taunton and her brother, Gerald Weatherbee of Brockton. In addition to her husband Cedric, she was preceded in death by her brother, Howard F.S. Weatherbee. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

ROLAND G. "BABE" TREMBLAY

Roland G. "Babe" Tremblay, 84, died at Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Monday, December 27 after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Rosalie C. (Shea) Tremblay and Josephine (Lavish) Donahue Tremblay. Born in Berlin, NH, June 20, 1920, he was educated in Berlin schools and attended UNH. He has resided in Stoughton since 1946. Mr. Tremblay was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army in World War II, serving in the ETO with the 30th infantry division. He worked as a manufacturing engineer for Allis Chalmer in Hyde Park for 27 years before working for the Foxboro Company for 10 years. He retired in 1985. Mr. Tremblay was a life member of the American Legion Post 89 and the VFW Post 1645 in Stoughton. He was also a life member of New England PVA(Paralyzed Veterans Assn.) and the DAV(Disabled American Veterans) in Brockton. He was a member of the State Board for the Multiple Sclerosis Assn. Mr. Tremblay was on the Disability Commission for the Town of Stoughton for 8 years.
Mr. Tremblay is survived by his step-daughter, Nancy Ann (Donahue) Clark of New Ipswich, NH and his brother, Raymond E. Tremblay of Vernon, CT. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 2 nephews and 1 cousin.
