Elaine K. Christopher, 45, died unexpectedly at home in Stoughton on Thursday, December 23. She was the daughter of Arthur M. Christopher of Moultonborough, NH and the late M. Edna (Sweeney) Christopher. Born in Boston, she was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1977 and Brockton Hairdresser Academy. She was a Stoughton resident for most of her life. Ms. Christopher was a caterer and waitress at Queen Anne Sub Parlour in Canton for 15 years. She loved arts and crafts and going to the beach, especially in Marshfield. She also loved working at Queen Anne's and cherished her children.
In addition to her father, Elaine is survived by her children, Alysia Bannister and Christopher Bannister both of Canton. She was the twin Sister of Edna Guyette of Rehoboth and the sister of Marie Barbano of NY, Michael Christopher of Malden, Marguerite Hill of Brockton, Chet and Amy Christopher both of Stoughton and the late Mary Christopher. She was the former wife of Richard Bannister and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be held from St. James Church, 560 Page St., Stoughton on Thursday at 9 AM. Visiting Hours omitted. Donations in Elaine's name may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society, 122 Canton St., Stoughton, 02072. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery
in Stoughton.

Alma F. (Randall) Berry, 81, died Sunday at the North End Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in the North End of Boston after a period of declining health. She was the wife of Donald G. Berry. Born in Boston, Mrs. Berry was a resident of Walpole for the past 20 years. Mrs. Berry was a home maker at home with her family. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Alvin Berry and Warren Berry both of S. Boston, Diana S. Pedranti of Brockton, Donald G. Berry Jr. of Arlington and Charles R. Berry of PA. She was the mother of the late Donna Calway and Lawrence Berry. She was the sister of Caroline Cobb of Walpole, Warren Randall of Billerica and the late Violet Hancock, Irving Randall and Ann Randall. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held in the Farley Funeral Home 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Tuesday 4-7 PM. Donations in Alma's name may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc., PO Box 1131, Fairfax, VA 22038. Burial will be private.
IDA A. (RACANA) MEROLA

Ida A. (Racana) Merola, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Saturday, December 25 at the Tower Hill Center For Health and Rehabilitation in Canton after a long period of failing health. She was the wife of the late William A. Merola. Born in East Boston, she was a graduate of East Boston Schools. Mrs. Merola worked as a stitcher in various area shops. She enjoyed knitting and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara A. Deming of Stoughton. She was the grandmother of Brian P. Fulton, Karen A. Gianni and Lisa M. Leverone. She was the great grandmother of Steven Leverone and Nicholas Leverone. Mrs. Merola is also survived by her sister Lola Provanzano of FL.
A Funeral Mass will be held in the Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton St., Stoughton on Tuesday at 10: 15 AM. Visiting Hours omitted. Burial will be at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
MATTHEW F. ALLISON

Matthew F. Allison, 90, died at the Blue Hills Alzheimer's Care Center in Stoughton on Friday, December 24 after a period of failing health. He was the husband of Barbara E. (Gangloff) Allison. Born in Danvers, Mr. Allison was a graduate of Beverly High School Class of 1930 and New England Aircraft School in Boston. He resided in Centerville for 25 years after residing in Beverly for many years. Mr. Allison was a manager at Forbes Lithograph in Chelsea for 49 years before retiring in 1979. He was very active with the Massachusetts AARP, where he was former Regional Director for the Cape and Islands and Assistant State Director. He was a deacon at Federated Church of Hyannis for many years. He was an avid candlepin bowler for many years.
In addition to his wife Barbara, Mr. Allison is survived by his children, Susan E. Allison-Tolan of Stoughton, Earl T. Allison of Danvers and John R. Allison of Needham, as well as his grandchildren, Earl T. Allison, II and Ian J. Allison. He is also survived by 2 nieces and 1 nephew.

JOHN E. "JACK" DeLOUGHREY

John E. "Jack" DeLoughrey, 63, died at the Radius Health Care Center at Easton on Thursday, December 23 after a period of failing health. He was the loving husband of Patricia A. (Reid) DeLoughrey. Born in Boston, Mr. DeLoughrey was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1959. He resided in North Easton for 40 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran during the Vietnam Era. He was a plumber for 45 years at Crane Plumbing and then the Boston Globe before retiring 4 years ago. Mr. DeLoughrey was a member of the Plumber's Local 12 in Boston. He was an avid skier, golfer and sports fan and loved vacationing in Carrabassett, ME.
In addition to his wife Pat, Mr. DeLoughrey is the devoted father of John E. "Jack" DeLoughrey, Jr. of Quincy, Susan P. Musto and her husband Timothy of Norton and Daniel P. DeLoughrey and his wife Christine of Easton and the devoted grandfather of Camden and Shane Musto and James Hewitt. He is also survived by his siblings, Thomas J. DeLoughrey and his wife Judith of Wellesley, Claire E. Joseph and her husband Paul of VA, James F. "Duke" DeLoughrey and his wife Geraldine of N. Easton and Patricia L. Chitvanni and her husband Eugene of Walpole as well as several nieces and nephews.

ELEANOR Z. (ALGER) CLINCH

Eleanor Z. (Alger) Clinch, 84, died Saturday at the Radius Healthcare Center at Easton after a period of failing health. She was the wife of 61 years of the late Harold D. Clinch. Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada, she was a resident of Stoughton since 1956. Mrs. Clinch was educated in Somerville Schools and was a graduate of Massachusetts Memorial Hospitals Nursing School in Boston, Class of 1941. She worked as a Registered Nurse at the Massachusetts Memorial Hospitals in Boston for 4 years, then at the Goddard Hospital Maternity Unit in Stoughton for over 25 years. She retired in 1984. She was a member of the Massachusetts Memorial Hospitals Nurses Alumnae Association and the First United Methodist Church in Stoughton. In her free time, she enjoyed Reading, Puzzles and Cryptographs.
She is survived by her children Louise H. Vinton and her husband Donald of Foxboro, Guy A. of Stoughton, Jean A. O'Loughlin of N. Easton and Neal C. and his wife Nancy of Taunton. She was the sister of Bernice Woodman and her late husband Lloyd of FL. She is also survived by her sisters in law Doris Fetterhoff and Marge Clinch both of Waltham. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and several nephews.

Antonio DeSousa, 78, died Saturday at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was the husband of Lourdes C. (Correia) DeSousa. Born in Madeira, Portugal, he moved to the US over 40 years ago and settled in Stoughton. Mr. DeSousa worked in various capacities for area businesses including Ark-Les Switch in Stoughton. He was a member of the Portuguese National Club in Stoughton. Mr. DeSousa was active at Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton and was an usher and did the collection at the 4 PM Mass every Saturday for many years.
In addition to his wife Lourdes, he was survived by his daughters Lucinda M. Rodrigues and Ludy Sousa both of Stoughton. He is also survived by 3 sisters in Portugal and 3 grandchildren.

M. Edna (Sweeney) Christopher, 68, died Thursday, December 16 at her home after a long illness. Born in South Boston, she was a graduate of South Boston High School. She resided in Stoughton for 46 years. Mrs. Christopher was a homemaker. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, computers, writing and her family.
She is survived by her children: Marie Barbano of NY, Michael of Malden, Marguerite Hill of Brockton, Elaine Christopher of Stoughton, Edna Guyette of Rehoboth, Chet and Amy both of Stoughton. She was the former wife of Arthur Christopher of NH. She was predeceased by her daughter Mary, her parents Chester and Johanna Sweeney and her sisters Katherine Svagdys and Joan Cronin. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Manuel Rodrigues, 83, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Wednesday, December 15 at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was the husband of the late Maria O. (Faria) Rodrigues. Born in Faial, Azores, Portugal, he was a resident of Stoughton for over 43 years. He worked as a Machine Operator for Ark-Les Switch in Stoughton for over 25 years, retiring at age 65. He was a member of the Portuguese National Club and Club Luis de Camoes in Stoughton. In his free time he enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his children: Jack M. Faria and Catherine M. Pernock both of Stoughton and Mary R. Belcher Berryman of Avon. He was the brother of Beatrice Lacerda of NM, Ana Maria Resendes and Maria DaRosa both of Woburn and Isabel Korte of VT. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Howard Margolis, 70, died Tuesday, December 14 at the VA Medical Center in West Roxbury after a long period of failing health. He was the husband of Dorothy M. (Ceruti) Margolis. Born in Boston, he was educated in Boston Schools. Mr. Margolis was a Veteran of the US Army during the Korean Era. He worked as a Car Salesman for Central Dodge in Canton and Raynham for 12 years, retiring 5 years ago. In his free time, he enjoyed bowling and fishing.
In addition to his wife Dottie, he is survived by his children Mark E. Margolis and his wife Lorraine of Brockton, Stephen B. Margolis and Kimberly R. Margolis both of Stoughton. He is also survived by his siblings, Sidney Margolis and Ronald Margolis both of FL and Pauline Goldwarg of Walpole, his granddaughter Nicole Margolis and many nieces and nephews.
