Shirley (Paraskivas) Atherton, 53, of Brockton died Friday, November 30, 2001 at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. She was the former wife of John P. Atherton. Born February 9, 1949 in Brockton she was the daughter of the late John Paraskivas and Olive (Makepeace) Paraskivas. Shirley attended Brockton Schools. She is survived by her children, John Paul Atherton, Dana Lee Atherton, Shelly Ann Atherton, and Michelle Atherton all of Brockton; her Brother and Sister, Steven Paraskivas of Haverhill, Diane Gammon of Abington, and Susan Paraskivas of Weymouth; she is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Shilrey was the sister of the late John Paraskivas.
Funeral services will be held in the Russell Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (RT123) Brockton on Tuesday, December 4th at 5: 00PM. The Rev McCoy of Christ Congregational Church will officiate. Private cremation will follow. Calling hours in the Russell Funeral Home Tuesday 3: 30-5: 00PM prior service.

CHRISTINA (SOCARIDES) ROURKE, 54
Christina (Socarides) Rourke, 54 of Somerville died Thursday, November 29, 2001 at the Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. Born July 10, 1947 in Brockton she was the daughter of the late Christos Socarides and Helen (Rushworth) Socarides. Tina was a graduate of Brockton High School and was a travel agent in Hartford, Connecticut for many years. She is survived by her son, Christopher Frediani and his wife Andrea of Columbia, South Carolina; her grandchild, Angelina Frediani. Tina was also the sister of the late James Socarides; she was also the niece of Judge George and Helen Covett of Brockton and Dr. George Socarides of New York.
Funeral services were held in the family lot at Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.The rev. John Kiramarios officated. Donations may be made in Tina's memory to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 457 Oak St., Brockton, Ma. 02301

JOSHUA J. VINCENT, 20

Joshua J. "Josh" Vincent, 20, a lifelong Brockton resident died Friday morning, May 31, 2002 at the Brockton Hospital after being stricken ill at his home. Born February 14, 1981 in Brockton he was the son of Sharon L. Vincent of North Attleboro and Melvin vonKriegenbergh of California. Joshua attended Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School where he studied masonry. He was a self-employed driveway installer in the Brockton area. He enjoyed fishing, repairing cars, and sports. He is survived by his parents, Sharon L. Vincent of North Attleboro and Melvin vonKriegenbergh of California; his grandparents Alice Vincent of East Bridgewater, Eyvon and Ronald vonKriegenbergh of Florida; his fiancé, Kristy K. Sullivan of Brockton; he is also survived by several Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. He was the grandson of the late John Vincent.
Funeral services will be held in the Russell Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (RT123) Brockton on Wednesday, June 5th at 11: 00AM. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours in the Russell Funeral Home Tuesday 5: 00-8: 00PM.

THERESA PIERRE, 80

Therese Leonie Pierre, 80, of Brockton died Monday, May 27, 2002 at her home in Brockton. She was the former wife of Ardouin Pierre. Born November 22, 1921 in Haiti she was the daughter of the late Loth and Elora Joseph. Mrs. Pierre came to the United States in 1970 where she had lived in Mattapan, Milton, and in Brockton for the last 10 years. She was a retired candy worker, she had worked for the Mary Jane Candy Factory for over 10 years. She enjoyed cooking, Baking, and watching television. She especially enjoyed soap opera's and Cowboy movies. She is survived by her children, of Marie J. Lafond of Brockton, Laura T. Gibbs of Canton, Pierrette Arcasia of Easton, Harry Pierre of New Jersey, Allain Pierre of Florida, Ronald Pierre of Brockton, and Carlo Pierre of Boston; she was also the grandmother of eighteen.

Cledanor Telfort, 72 of Brockton died Saturday, May 25, 2002 at the Brockton Hospital. Born April 25, 1930 in Saint Louis, DuNord, Haiti he was the son of the late Francois Telfort and Anna (Desir) Telfort. Mr. Telfort was a police officer in Haiti for several years and came to Brockton 2 years ago to be with his family. He enjoyed to read. He is survived by his children, Anna Y. Louis and her husband Joseph of Brockton, Marie C. Telfort-Nicolas and her husband Jean of Brockton, Modeline Telfort of Brockton, and Gertrude Telfort of Haiti; his grandchildren, Indirma and Jonathan Louis, Gregory and Carl Nicolas; his brothers and sisters of Isophe, Francius, Fanalia, Gertrude, and Marie Telfort; his nieces and nephews, Guirlene, Francios, Nesly, Roland, and Loubert and family, and Francios and Jacquely Desrosiers and family.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2002 in the Trinity Baptist Church, 1367 Main St., Brockton at 9: 00AM. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours in the Russell Funeral Home Friday 5: 00-8: 00PM.

AGUSTINA DeJESUS, 89

Agustina (Gimenez) DeJesus, 89 of Brockton, died Friday, May 24, 2002 at the Brockton Hospital. She was the wife of the late Lorenzo Martinez. Born September 1, 1912 in Salinas, Puerto Rico she was the daughter of the late Lorenza Gimenez. Mrs. DeJesus has been a Brockton resident for the last 16 years and was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Brockton. She enjoyed Knitting clothes. She is survived by her children, Luz M. Rivera, Jose Martinez, Lorenzo Martinez, Antonia Martinez all of Puerto Rico, and Maria Martinez of Brockton; she is also survived by several grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be held in Salinas, Puerto Rico on Sunday, June 2, 2002. Interment will follow in Salinas Cemetery, Puerto Rico.

MARJORIE L. HATFIELD, 91

Marjorie L (Hatch) Hatfield, 91 of Avon died at her home on Monday, May 20, 2002 under hospice care after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Ralph Hatfield. Born August 3, 1910 in Ayer she was the daughter of the late Albert L. Hatch and Louisa A. (Coote) Hatch. Mrs. Hatfield lived in Boston for many years before retiring to Avon. After graduating from High School, Mrs. Hatfield worked at a bank in Ayer. She and Mr. Hatfield moved to Boston, where she spent many hours doing volunteer work for the Park Street Congregational Church. She was a member of the church for 45 years. She is survived by her three nieces, Jane Hatch Leonard of Yarmouth, Maine, Mary Jean Blasdale of Mattapoisett, and Marjorie Schmidt Brown of Cohasset; one nephew, Christopher L. Hatch of Berlin. She was the sister of the late Lillian P. Schmidt and Robert L. Hatch.
Following cremation, a graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2002 in the Groton Cemetery, Groton at 10: 30AM.

HARRY R. BLACK, 87

Harry R. Black, 87 a lifelong Brockton resident died Friday morning at the West Acres Nursing Home in Brockton. Born November 14, 1914 in Brockton he was the son of the late Joseph H. Black and Anna (Ballard) Black. He was a graduate of Brockton High School. Harry served in the United States Army Air Corps as a corporal during World War II. After serving in World War II he started to work as Clubhouse Manager at Thorney Lea Golf Course in Brockton for 36 years. He retired in 1976. Harry enjoyed hunting in Maine, watching and listening to Boston Sports teams especially the Boston Red Sox, and he enjoyed holidays at his sister-in-laws and nieces homes. He is survived by his brother, Norman Black and his wife Jean of Seal, California; his sister-in-law, Eleanor C. Black of Brockton; his nieces and nephews, William Black of Taunton, Ellie (Black) Casieri of Brockton, Rita (Black) Cashin of Bridgewater, George Black of East Bridgewater, David Black and Nora Black both of California; he is also survived by 6 grand-nephews and 3 grand nieces. He was the brother of the late Christopher Black, Nellie Black, William S. Black, Blanche Black, Gertrude (Black) Lynche, and Dot (Black) Fish.

Paula (Dundon) Cordaro, 57 of Brockton died unexpectedly Friday morning, May 10, 2002 at her home in Brockton. Born December 4, 1944 in Boston she was the daughter of the late Francis Dundon and Doris (Smith) Dundon. She was raised in Jamaica Plain and graduated from Jamaica Plain High School. Paula has been a Nurses Aid at the West Acres Nursing Home in Brockton for over 10 years and has been a Brockton resident for over 33 years. She enjoyed knitting. She is survived by her children, Keith Cordaro and Ryan Cordaro both of Brockton, Brent Cordaro of Rockland, Roy Cordaro of Stoughton, Neil Cordaro of Brockton, Shelley Stewart of Georgia, and Kory Cordaro of Brockton;her grandchildren, Erin Barry, Colleen Barry, and Treyvon Goodwin; her brother, Robert Dundon of Michigan; her sister, Janet Dundon of Georgia; she is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held in the Russell Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Monday, May 13th at 12: 00PM. Interment will follow in Mount Benedict Cemetery, Boston. Calling hours in the Russell Funeral Home Monday 10: 00AM-12: 00PM.

NIKOLAOS PAPIGIOTIS, 71

Nikolaos Papigiotis, 71, of Brockton died suddenly at the Brockton Hospital Wednesday, May 8, 2002 after being stricken ill at his home. He was the husband of Alexandra (Giannouloudis) Papigiotis of Brockton. Born October 28, 1930 in Neapolis, Greece he was the son of the late Arthanasios Papigiotis and Harietini Papigiotis. Nikolaos has been a Brockton resident since 1967 and was a retired meat cutter. He worked for Oakdale Packing Company and Tarpey's Meat Company for several years. He was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Brockton. He is survived by his wife, Alexandra (Giannouloudis) Papigiotis of Brockton; his son, Arthur Papigiotis and his wife Sandra of Raynham; his brother, George Papigiotis of Frankfort, Germany; his Brother-In-Law; Thomas Giannouloudis and his wife Priscilla of Brockton; he is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Matthew Pelote, 59 of Brockton died at his home in Brockton Friday, May 3, 2002. Born January 16, 1943 in Georgia he was the son of Lucile (Johnson) Pelote of Randolph and the late George F. Pelote. Mr. Pelote was a retired cook. He had worked for several local restaurants. He is survived by his daughter, Shalonda Langley of Brockton; his brothers and sisters, Maeola Pelote and Sara Pelote of Brockton, Patricia Stephens of Wakefield, Charles Pelote of Brockton, Zimber Pelote of Boston, Willie Pelote of CA., Benjamin Pelote of Las Vegas, and Alfred Pelote of Springfield; he is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral service will be held in the Russell Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Friday, May 10th at 1: 00PM. The Rev. Roland McCool will officiate. Interment will follow in Cedar Knoll Cemetery, Taunton. Calling hours in the Russell Funeral Home Friday 11: 00AM-1: 00PM.

DANIEL JOSE MONTERIO

Daniel Jose Deriggs-Monterio died at birth at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. He was the son of Manuel Monterio and Nereida Quiel both of Brockton.
A Graveside service was held in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton on Monday, May 3rd with the Rev. Daniel Unena officiating.
