Theresa M. “Smith” Hill aged 63 years of East Bridgewater, MA died unexpectedly on Sunday, December 7, 2003 at Brockton Hospital. She was the wife of Robert C. Hill of 37 years.
Born in Somerville, MA she was the daughter of the late Arthur E. Smith and the late Mary (Connerty) Smith.
Theresa was educated at North Cambridge Catholic High School and had lived in East Bridgewater for the past 32 years. She had worked for 10 years as head bookkeeper at A Personal Touch in Whitman, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and enjoyed taking pictures.
In addition to her husband Robert she is survived by four children Robert Hill of FL, Brian D. Hill of Lakeville, Stephen Hill of East Bridgewater and Christopher Hill of NC; five grandchildren Sharon Danielle Hill, Manuel Rodriguez, Shown hill, Brian R. Hill and Kayli Hill; two brothers Arthur Smith of FL and Steven Smith of Sandwich, MA.
A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 280 Bedford St. Lakeville, MA. Interment will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, December 11, 2003 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.

Florence L. (Pierce) Cornell

Florence L. (Pierce) Cornell “Lady Auctioneer” aged 83 years of Lakeville, MA died October 29, 2003 at New England Medical Center in Boston after a long illness.
Born May 11, 1920 in New Bedford, MA she was the daughter of the late Edward N. Pierce and the late Gertrude (Colburn) Pierce.
Florence was a long time resident of Lakeville and owned and operated the former Double C Auction Gallery in Lakeville. She was a member of the Lakeville and Freetown Historical Society, a member of the Lakeville Garden Club, a member of the Red Hat Society, a member of the Whaling City Miniature Enthusiast and a long time active member of the Lakeville United Church of Christ where she started the yearly doll show. She also enjoyed miniatures, rug hooking and dolls.
She is survived by two sons Elliot Cornell of Maine and Warren T. Cornell of Taunton; 23 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; a sister Letha Bottomley of E. Freetown and a brother Edward Pierce of CA. She was also the mother of the late Charles E. Cornell, Jr., Dorothy Cotter and Patricia Costa.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 3, 2003 at 11:00 AM in the Lakeville United Church of Christ. Interment will follow in Precinct Cemetery in Lakeville.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, November 1, 2003 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM..

Mildred R. Finch

Mildred R. Finch age 78 years of West Bridgewater, MA died suddenly, October 21, 2003 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston on Tuesday. She was the former wife of the late Alvin Finch.
Born in West Bridgewater, Mildred was the daughter of the late John and Beatrice Kugis. She was educated in West Bridgewater public schools and lived her entire life in the town.
She enjoyed playing bingo, and traveling with her family. She was also a long time fan of the Boston Red Sox.
Mildred is survived by her ten children; Wayne Finch of Raynham, Betty Soares of So. Easton, Bob Finch of Michigan, Frances Silvia of Lakeville, John, Joel, and Jody Finch all of Raynham, Peter Finch of Bridgewater, Tina Pinheiro, and Donna Finch both of West Bridgewater. She was the grandmother of 19 and the great grandmother of 11. A son, Kurt Finch and a brother, John Kugis, preceded Mildred in death.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 24, 2003 at 10:00 am in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 647 Main St. Brockton, MA. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, October 23, 2003 from 4-8 PM.

Martin C. Flaherty, Sr.

At: St. Ann's Church, West Bridgewater, MA
Martin C. Flaherty, Sr. aged 80 years of West Bridgewater, MA passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2003 at his home in West Bridgewater after a short illness. He was first married to the late Lucille (Lazzara) Flaherty and then married to Shirley (Elliott) (McCumiskey) Flaherty for 35 years.
Born October 13, 1923 in Norwood, MA he was the son of the late John M. Flaherty and the late Delia (Lydon) Flaherty.
Martin had lived in various locations in the Boston area, moving to West Bridgewater 20 years ago. He was a retired ironworker for the M.B.T.A. and a member of the Iron Workers Local #7.
Mr. Flaherty served in the United States Coast Guard and enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family. He was also a Communicant of St. Ann’s Church in West Bridgewater, MA.
In addition to his wife Shirley of West Bridgewater he is survived by four daughters Lynne Cooper of NY, Karen Luther-Schneider of Missouri, Gail Whittaker of Stoughton and Judy Flaherty of Brockton; three sons Gary McCumiskey of Brockton, Martin Flaherty, Jr. of Foxboro and Mike Flaherty of Milton; 22 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 31, 2003 at 11:00 AM in St. Ann’s Church, Rt. 28, West Bridgewater, MA. Interment will follow at 1:45 PM in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, October 30, 2003 from 4-8 PM in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 647 Main St. Brockton, MA.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be given to the Casey Martin Pittman Trust Fund c/o Abington Savings Bank, 533 Washington St. Abington, MA. Casey is Martin’s great-grandson who has Muscular Dystrophy.

Gladys E. (Parker) Kemp

Gladys E. (Parker) Kemp age 85 years passed away Saturday at Tower Hill Nursing Home in Canton after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Thomas F. Kemp.
Born April 1, 1918 in West Bridgewater she was the daughter of the late Tom and Margaret (Laird) Parker. Gladys was a life long resident of West Bridgewater and a graduate of the former Howard High School in West Bridgewater. She was co-founder of Kemp Transportation and loving mother and homemaker. Gladys also enjoyed knitting. She was also a member of St. Ann’s Church in West Bridgewater.
Her 5 daughters, Barbara McGillicuddy of Florida, Karen Kasim of Jordan, Maureem Kemp of West Bridgewater, Jacqueline Hamilton of New Hampshire, and Donna Silva of Halifax survive Gladys. Her 6 granddaughters, and 4 grandsons also survive her. Gladys was the great grandmother of 2. She was also the grandmother of the late Colin Lupien. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. 4 brothers, William, James, Everett, and Charles Parker preceded Gladys in death.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, November 20, 2003 at 10:00 am in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 647 Main St. Brockton, MA. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater, MA.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, November 19, 2003 from 5-8 PM

Raymond H. LaPointe

Raymond H. LaPointe aged 86 years of Lakeville, MA died Thursday, December 23, 2004 at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford after a short illness. He was the husband of Esteria Hope (Atwood) LaPointe of 62 years.
Born Sunday January 13, 1918 in New Bedford, MA he was the son of the late Horace LaPointe and the late Selina (Toomey) LaPointe.
Raymond was educated in New Bedford Schools and had lived in Rochester, MA for 35 years moving and living in Lakeville, MA for the past 23 years. He retired from Tibbetts Engineering as a Surveyor and was an avid woodworker. He was a member of Lakeville United Church of Christ.
In addition to his wife he is survived by five children Joan Dumford of Wareham, MA, Jon LaPointe, of Lakeville, Brian LaPointe of Rochester, Nanette Castorina of Atlantic, GA and Michele McClain of Crystal River, FL; 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother George Lawton of New Bedford and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2005 at 11:00 AM in the Lakeville United Church of Christ, Lakeville, MA

William Warren Tharion

William Warren Tharion aged 79 years of Palm Beach, FL died, Thursday, January 20, 2005 at Hospice of Palm Beach County Home after a short illness.
Born February 27, 1925 in Belmont, MA he was the son of the late William Tharion and Jeanette (McDonald) Tharion.
He was a graduate of Dartmouth College and Bentley College and had lived in Middleboro, MA until moving to Palm Beach FL. He was a member of the Middleboro Lodge of Elks, the Former Reservoir Heights Golf Association and the American Contract Bridge League.
Mr. Tharion served in the US Navy in WW II and received the World War II Victory Medal and the American Area Medal. He also was an avid golfer and Bridge Player. He retired from the former Middleboro Trust Company as Treasure. Prior to working for the bank he worked as institutional treasurer at Southeastern Correctional Center in Bridgewater, as a controller with Eagle Electric Supply Company, and as a manager of accounting with Farm Corporation.
He is survived by four daughters Karen Norton of Middleboro, Deborah LaFrance of Marstons Mills, Janet Callahan of S. Yarmouth and Laurel McGrath of Marstons Mills; 7 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
A memorial service will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 280 Bedford St. Lakeville, MA.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be given to Hospice of Palm Beach County, 5300 East Ave, West Palm Beach, FL 33407.

Edward Ambrose Burrows

Edward Ambrose Burrows aged 63 years of Lakeville, MA died Wednesday, December 22, 2004 at New England Sinai Hospital in Stoughton after a long illness. He was the wife of Maria (Tomasich) Burrows of 37 years.
Born Sunday, December 29, 1940 in Providence, RI he was the son of the late Edward Gilbert and Blanche Ann Burrows.
Edward was a 1959 graduate of LaSalle Academy in Providence, RI and received his associate degree from Roger Williams College in Electrical Engineer technology. He was raised in Providence and had lived in Agawam, MA for 24 years and most recently in Lakeville, MA.
He started his career as service department manager at "C.I" Hayes in Cranston, RI and retired from the Wisconsin based Lindberg unit of General Signal where he was regional and service sales manager branch office in E. Longmeadow, MA retiring after 25 years of service.
He served in the RI Air National Guard, was a member of the Elks Club #14 in Providence, RI and was an avid Red Sox Fan and enjoyed boating, gardening, music and spending time with is family. He was also a trained carpenter.
In addition to his wife Maria of 37 years he is survived by two daughters Mrs. John (Christina) Refford of North Easton and Mrs. James (Karen E.) Quinn of Lakeville; three grandchildren Isabel, Jillian and Dante Refford with another on the way.
Memorial visitation will take place on Tuesday from 4-7 PM in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 280 Bedford St. Lakeville, MA followed by a Memorial Service at 7:00 PM. Interment will be private at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be given to Dana Farber Jimmy Fund Cancer Research, 1 Harvard St. Brookline, MA 02146
