Capitola G. (Nelson) Greene age 92 years passed away Saturday at the West Acres Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Harry D. Greene.
Born in East Bridgewater she was the daughter of the late George E. and Mabel S. (Houghton) Nelson. Mrs. Greene was educated in both East Bridgewater and West Bridgewater. She lived for some time in South Boston before settling in West Bridgewater. She was employed by the People’s Savings Bank in Brockton from which she retired in 1974. She belonged to the Candlelight Club in West Bridgewater and was one of the last surviving members. She also was a member of the J.O.Y. club also in West Bridgewater. She enjoyed crafts and baking. Mrs. Greene was a long time member of the West Bridgewater Baptist Church, and most recently belonged to the Trinity Baptist Church in Brockton.
She is survived by a daughter; Carol M. Phelan and her husband Tom of West Bridgewater, a son; William A. Greene and his wife Jacqueline also of West Bridgewater; a sister; Maybelle V. Bond of Waltham;12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Greene was preceded in death by a son; H. Daniel Greene and a daughter Nancy H. Tibbetts. As well as three brothers; Harold, William and Arthur Nelson.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home Chapel For All Faiths, 647 Main St. Brockton, MA. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater.

Mary Elizabeth (Leahy) O’Donnell

Mary Elizabeth (Leahy) O’Donnell age 88 years passed away Wednesday. She was the wife of the late John F. O’Donnell.
Born in N. Weymouth she was the daughter of the late William F. and Rose (DeYoung) Leahy. Mary enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, reading and was an avid Red Sox fan. She was a member of St. Ann’s Parish in West Bridgewater. She is survived by her children; Mrs. Kirk (Linda) Gantert of Fayetteville, GA, Mrs. Salvatore (Doreen) Cagnina of West Bridgewater and John P. O’Donnell of Quincy.
She was the grandmother of four and the great grandmother of one. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Marion Crowley of Foxboro, James Leahy of Quincy, Theresa Pennie of California, Alice Tullish of Hull, MA and Helen Lane of Quincy. She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters, Thomas, David, Clarence, George, and William Leahy and Kathleen Miller and Florence Woodsom.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 8:00 am in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home 647 Main St. Brockton, MA followed by a funeral mass at 9:00 am in St. Ann’s Church Rt. 28 West Bridgewater, MA.
Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden, MA. Arrangements are with the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home 647 Main St. Brockton, MA.
Visitation will take place on Friday from 4-7 PM

Muriel L. (French) Benson

Muriel L. (French) Benson aged 84 years of Stoughton, MA died Friday, January 21, 2005 at Copley at Stoughton after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of Robert Frank Benson.
Born Tuesday, July 13, 1920 in Braintree, MA she was the daughter of the late Lester W. French and the late Louise (Pettee) French.
She was a 1938 graduate of Hanover High School and attended the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. She was a long time resident of Stoughton and retired from the former Goddard Memorial Hospital where she worked for several years in the housekeeping department. She was a member of the North American Blue Bird Society and a member of the former Red Wing Promenade Square Dancers.
Muriel and her late husband enjoyed breeding, raising and showing German Short Hair Pointers and she enjoyed sewing, knitting, gardening and cooking. She was known for making pies, cookies, jellies and jams and giving them away as gifts. She also wrote and published several short stories and poems.
Mrs. Benson was a member of the Mother Church in Boston and also a member of the Christian Science Society of Brockton-Bridgewater. For many years she served as clerk for the Society and served in their reading room. She was also a member of the South of Boston Visiting Nurse Association for Christian Scientists.
She was the loving mother of Robert A. Benson of Stoughton, Mrs. Sandra L. Burke of Belchertown, MA, Mrs. Bonnie N. Hyde of Brockton and Mrs. Carolyn A. Sprague of Syracuse NY; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; a sister Mrs. Marjorie R. Johnson of Marshfield, MA and many nieces and nephews. She was also the grandmother of the late Daniel Brendon Maratea and the sister of the late Doris E. Silvia and the late Pauline M. Simmons.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2005 at 9:30 AM in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 647 Main St. Brockton, MA. Interment will follow at Central Cemetery in Randolph, MA.
Visitation will take place on Friday, January 28, 2005 from 3-7 PM.

Mildred Emily (Eldeen) Nelson
Visitation: Friday, January 21, 2005, 2-4 & 6-8:30 PM
Service: Saturday, January 22, 2005, 10:00 AM
At: Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Brockton, MA
Mildred Emily (Eldeen) Nelson age 87 years died Tuesday at 1:00 am at the Falmouth Hospital after a long illness of strokes, heart problems and osteoporosis since 1999. She was the wife of the late Eldon Adolph Nelson who died in 1973; they were married for 33 years.
Mrs. Nelson was born in Medford, MA in 1917, daughter of the late Agnes and Edward Eldeen. Raised in Stoughton and Brockton she graduated from Brockton High School and the Goddard School of Nursing. She was an LPN during the 2nd World War times at the Goddard Hospital; she was also a dental assistant later on and also worked in a photography studio. She was a member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church (Formally Gethsemane Lutheran Church) of Brockton, and served as secretary for the G.L.C.W. women’s group. She was a Swedish Heritage and spoke the language fluently. She was a resident of Brockton for many years; later on she lived in North Easton Elderly Housing for 16 years. Her last job was at Hillards Candy store in Easton.
She is survived by her only child; Mrs. Brian (Janet) Lemeé of Pocasset, MA, her sister Ruth Killman of California (formerly of Brockton), her brother, Elmer Eldeen of PA, her nieces, Nancy Fagliano of California, Kristina Stevens of E. Bridgewater, Marjorie Judd of Middleboro, Pauline Nelson of West Virginia, and Nadine Nelson of Easton.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2005 at 10:00 AM in the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church 906 North Main St. Brockton, MA. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton, MA.
Visitation will take place on Friday, January 21, 2005 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home 647 Main St. Brockton, MA.

Felismina Monteiro Deandrade

Felismina Monteiro Deandrade age 73 years passed away Monday at West Acres Nursing Home in Brockton. Born in Fogo, Cova Fegueiro she was the daughter of the late Raul Deandrade and Maria Monteiro Fontes.
Ms. Deandrade had been a resident of Brockton since 2000. She is survived by her children, Maria Lusia Deandrade, Etelvina Deandrade, Jose Emanuel Deandrade, Maria Fatima Pires and Jose Antonio Deandrade, 8 grandchildren, a sister, Edeti Monteiro Fontes and 2 brothers, Manuel Santos Deandrade and Manuel Domingos Veira.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 9:00 am in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 647 Main St., Brockton, MA, followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 am at St. Edith Stein Church, No. Main St. Brockton. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton.
Visitation will be on Friday from 5-9 pm.

Anita D. (Ekberg) Davidson

Anita D. (Ekberg) Davidson age 89 years passed away Wednesday at St. Joseph Manor in Brockton following a short illness. She was the wife of the late Francis E. Davidson.
Born in Brockton she was the daughter of the late Axel Sr., and Helen (Julien) Ekberg. She was a life long resident of Brockton graduating from Brockton High School in 1936. Mrs. Davidson was also educated at the former Brockton Business School and was employed as a secretary at the former Franklin Auto Supply and the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brockton. She was a tenant at the Caffrey Towers in Brockton and a member of its association. Mrs. Davidson was a long time member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brockton and was very active in several of the church programs.
She is survived by her children, Susan J. Davidson of New Jersey, Joseph P. Davidson of California and Frank E. Davidson and partner Teri Williams of New Hampshire, a grandson, Aaron J. Davidson of California, a granddaughter, Jamie Kirdzik of CT. and three great grandchildren. Her siblings, Waldemar, Walter, Newell and Axel, Jr. Ekberg, preceded her in death.
A funeral service will be held on Monday May 19 at 10:00 am at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church 900 Main St., Brockton, MA. Interment will follow the service in Melrose Cemetery, Pearl St. Brockton.
Visitation will be on Sunday from 3-6 pm in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 647 Main St., Brockton, MA.

Maria M. (Lopes) DePina

Maria M. (Lopes) DePina age 84 years passed away Tuesday at the Caritas Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton. She was the wife of the late Joao DePina.
Born in Brava, Cape Verde she was the daughter of the late Francisco and Rufina (Mendes) Lopes. Mrs. DePina was a homemaker and a resident of Brockton since 1972.
She is survived by her children, Alberto DePina, Maria Dos Santos, Manuel Lopes, Carlos Lopes, Antonio DePina and Joao DePina, Jr. all of Brockton. Many grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive her. As well as three sisters and one brother.
A funeral service will be on Saturday at 9:00 am in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 647 Main St., Brockton, MA, followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 am in St. Edith Stein Church, No. Main St. Brockton. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater, MA.

Nancy-Jean Bock
Memorial Visitation: Friday, May 23, 2008, 4-8 PM
Memorial Service: Saturday, May 24, 2008, 10:00 AM

Nancy-Jean Bock, 49 of East Freetown died on Monday, May 19, 2008 at the home of her brother David and his wife Sherry of Berkley, after a courageous battle with brain cancer.
Born June 13, 1958 in Taunton she was the daughter of Pauline Bock of Middleboro and the late Roland A. E. Bock.
Nancy had lived in Lakeville and was a 1976 graduate of Bristol Aggie in Dighton. She then received her degree at Stockbridge School of Horticulture at U Mass Amherst in 1978. Following graduation she went to California and studied under Meeche Burrell and Dick Bartlett. She loved California. She decorated many New Year floats for the Rose Parades in Pasadena and also worked at Rogers Gardens in CA. Upon returning home she opened Affair With Flowers and Daffodil Gift Shoppe in East Freetown. She was a member of the Conservation Board in East Freetown and also was Vice President, Board of Directors at Acushnet Credit Union. Her happiest times were spent with her two dogs Tucker and Fred and her cat Tobey. Nancy had a great love of animals. She enjoyed going to auctions, shows on the cape and exploring the back roads of Cape Cod and shopping and antiquing on Rt. 6A. She was known for her zest for living and her many friends will miss the good times, especially her infectious laughter.
She is survived by her beloved husband Robert Bock; her stepchildren Lynda and Robert, Jr.; her mother Pauline Bock of Oak Point in Middleboro; three brothers Donald Bock and his wife Sandy of Rochester, David Bock and his wife Sherry of Berkley and Karl Bock of East Freetown; two sisters Retired Lt. Col. Diane Bock Deyak of Lakeville and Paula Bock Tranter of Boston; two nieces Brenner Bock Decas and Kelley Ann Bock; her nephews Dr. Derek J. Bock, Christopher Bock, Joel Deyak, Joshua Deyak, Justin Deyak and the love of her life baby Charlie Tranter.
Following Nancy-Jean’s wished she will be cremated.
He funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, May 24, 2008 at 10:00 AM in the East Freetown Congregational Church on County St., East Freetown. Burial of her Cremains will follow at Sampson Cemetery in Lakeville.
Memorial visitation will take place on Friday, May 23, 2008 from 4-8 PM in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home 280 Bedford St. Lakeville, MA.
Please omit flowers. Donations may be made in her memory to the ASPCA, American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 424 East 92nd St. New York, NY 10128-6804 or by calling 1-800-628-0028.
