Eleanor K Donohoe, 81

Hyannis - Eleanor K. (Fryatt) Donohoe, 81, a retired billing clerk, died June 8 at the Cape Regency Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Centerville after a long illness.

She was the wife of Charles F. Donohoe, who died in 1994.

Born in Somerville, she was educated in Cambridge schools and lived there most of her life. In 1981, she and her husband began spending weekends at their home in Hyannis until moving there permanently in 1993 from Cambridge.

She worked for the John E. Cain Co. in Cambridge for many years and also for General Cinema in Chesmut Hill as a billing clerk until her retirement in 1990.

Mrs. Donohoe was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church, Cambridge, and most recently of Our Lady of Victory Church, Centerville. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are a son, Stephen Donohoe of Wilmington, Del.; a daughter, Linda Bennett of Centerville; three sisters, Mildred Mosher of Newton, Audrey McKeon of Hyannis and Helen Higgins of Boca Raton, Fla.; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral was held at the Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Victory Church, Centerville. Burial was at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

Maurice E. Guindon, 48

Hyannis - Maurice E. Guindon, 48, died June 8 at his home in Hyannis after a brief illness.

He was the son of Earl and Helene Guindon of Springfield.

Born and raised in Springfield, Mr. Guindon was educated in Springfield public schools and attended college in Springfield and at Cape Cod Community College. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He moved to the Cape in 1984. Mr. Guindon began a career as a human services professional, devoting his life as an advocate to organizations such as Independence House, Angel House, Project Coach, Nam Vets Association and Community Action Committee. He served on various boards at these groups as well as volunteered. At the time of his death, he was the director of the Hyannis branch of Friends of Prisoners. He was an avid bird watcher and nature lover.

Surviving besides his parents are a son, Seth E. Guindon of Orleans; a daughter, Tasha P. Guindon of Orleans; a stepdaughter, Jessica Boynton of Dennis; his partner, Dianne Wiinikainen of West Barnstable; his former wife, Cindy Sullivan of Orleans; a brother, Francis M. Vacirca of Agawam; and two sisters, Christine L. Anas of Kearnersville, N.C., and Michele P. Guindon of Springfield.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Pius X Church, South Yarmouth. Burial followed at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Memorial donations may be made to Friends of Prisoners, 671 Main St., Hanvich Port, MA 02646.

Grover P. Martin, Sr., 71

Hyannis - Grover P. Martin, Sr., 71, a self-employed photographer, died June 12 at Cohasset Knob Nursing Home after a long illness.

He was the husband of Louise (Vernaglia) Martin.

Mr. Martin was born in Boston and grew up in Watertown. He served in the Navy during World War II. A resident of Hyannis for many years, Mr. Martin moved to Taunton in 1988. He was a self-employed photographer working in the Taunton and Cape Cod areas.

Besides his wife, he is survived by six sons, Grover P. Martin Jr. and Michael J. Martin, both of Georgia, Timothy N. Martin of North Carolina, Warren C. Martin of Colorado, Wayne D. Martin of Marshfield, and Dominic C. Martin of Maine; and four daughters, Dorothy A. Williams of Arizona, Faith E. Pinzino of Carver, and Kelly R. Martin and Kerri Martin, both of New Hampshire. Also two brothers, William J. Martin of Florida and Peter J. Martin of Southboro; two sisters, Elizabeth F. Webster of Attleboro, and June E. Godfrey of Falmouth; severa1 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1115 West Chestnut St, Suite 301, Brockton, MA 02301.

Willy K. Oehme, 88

Hyannis - Willy K. Oehme, 88, a master woodworker, died June 6 at Cape Cod Hospital after a brief illness.

He was the husband of Ruth E. (Payette) Oehme for 65 years.

Born in Cheffmitz, Germany, Mr. Oehme immigrated with his family to the United States in 1926. He was an apprentice in artistic furniture, building and finishing in Germany and worked on period furniture while continuing his education in America. During the war, he built oceangoing wooden tugboats.

He moved to the Cape in 1947 and built his home in Hyannis that year. Mr. Oehme belonged to many different trade groups and organizations. He was a member of the Boylston Schul-Verin; International Order of Odd Fellows; Fraternal Lodge of the Elks; Grotto, where he was past monarch and past district deputy for two years, and the Centerville Fraternal Lodge of Mason, where he received his 35 year pin. He was also a lifetime brother of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Jointers.

Locally, he was instrumental on the restoration of many historic buildings in the Sandwich area. He was a founder of the German/Amencan Club of Cape Cod and was president for several years.

Surviving besides his wife are a son, Wayne Oehme of Mashpee; a daughter, Marlene White of Barnstable; a brother, Fred Oehme of West Hyanmsport; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Burial was private. Memorial donations may be made to the Hyannis Fire Department, 95 High SchooI Road Extension, Hyannis, MA 02601; or Hyannis Fraternal Lodge of Elks, 852 Bearses Way, Hyannis, MA 02601; Centerville Masonic Order, 1989 Falmouth Road, Centerville, MA 02632; Cape Cod Hospital Buflding Fund, 27 Park St., Hyannis, MA 02601.

William F. Sullivan, Jr., 72

Hyannis - William F. Sullivan, Jr., 72, died June 8 at his home in Hyannis.

He was the husband of Dorothy (Dennen) Sullivan.

Mr. Sullivan was born in New Bedford and attended New Bedford High School. He graduated from Barnstable High School and also attended Boston University.

A World War II Navy veteran, he worked in the sales department for New England Telephone on the Cape for 30 years until his retirement in 1985.

Surviving besides his wife are four daughters, Kathryn Sullivan DeDiaz of Lexington, Sheilah Sullivan-Halligan of Marion, Anne Sullivan-Girten of Lititz, Pa., and Carolyn O'Neill of Brewster; two sons, William F. Sullivan III of Brewster and Thomas Sullivan of Ayer; a sister, Virginia A. Flaherty of Hyannis; a brother, Dennis S. Sullivan of Hyannis; 14 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Church, Hyannis. Burial was held in Mosswood Cemetery, Cotuit. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association of Cape Cod & Islands, 2 Whites Path, South Yarmouth, MA 02664; or the Joslin Clinic, 1 Joslin Place, Boston, MA 02215.

Frances C. Senno, 79

Hyannis - Frances C. (Gage) Senno, 79, a resident of Hyanms, died June 6 at Cape Cod Hospital after a brief illness.

She was the wife of Paul L. Senno, who died in 1993.

Born and educated in Hyannis, Mrs. Senno was the first manager of the Lady Puritan Shop in Hyannis, working there from 1963 to 1983. She was a member of the Federated Church of Hyannis.

She is survived by a son, Lloyd P. Senno of Brewster; and two grandchildren.

A gaveside service was held at Oak Neck Cemetery, Hyannis.

Irene Holley, 75

Centerville - Irene (Cole) Holley, 75, died June 13 at Cape Cod Hospital, Hyannis, after a brief illness.

She was the wife of Eugene J. Holley for 53 years.

Born in New York City, Mrs. Holley was raised in Pelham Manor, N.Y., and graduated from Pelham Memorial High School.

During the 1940s, she worked as a teller for Chase Manhattan Bank New York City. Mrs. Holley lived in Sumatra, Indonesia, for three years before moving to Eastchester, N.Y., in 1957. While in Eastchester, she was a Girl Scout leader, a member of the Parent-Teacher Association and past matron of the Order of Eastern Star in Scarsdale, N.Y. She was also a member of the Echo Bay Yacht Club in New Rochelle, N.Y. In 1979, Mrs. Holley moved to Centerville, where she was a member of the Holly Ridge Golf Club in Sandwich and the Barnstable Election Board and was secretary for the Thursday Morning Ladies Bowling League in Hyannis. She also volunteered for the Meals on Wheels program in Hyannis.

In addition to bowling and golf, Mrs. Holley enjoyed swimming, cooking and entertaining.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Robert Holley of East Quogue, N.Y., and Kenneth P. Holley of Spring, Texas ; a daughter, Kathleen V. DelBuono of Huntington, Conn.; two sisters, Dorothy Harvey of Lantana, Fla., and Madaline Meiklejohn of Jamesburg, N.J.; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial was private. Memorial donations may be made to the Cape Cod Hospital Foundation, Attention: Coronary Care Unit, 4 Bayview St., Hyannis, MA 02601.

Walter A. Rietz, 72

Centerville - Walter A. Rietz, 72, died June 9 at his home in Centerville after a long illness.

He was the husband of Mary (Gray) Rietz.

Born in Boston, Mr. Rietz was raised in Dedham where he graduated from Dedham High School. After high school, he enlisted in the Army, serving during World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1947. He then graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in engineering in 1954.

As a manufacturing engineer, Mr. Rietz worked for many companies such as Martin Rockwell, Northrop and Sylvania. He worked on many projects for the military, including the Intercontinental Ballistic Missle, the B-I and the B-2 bombers.

Before moving to Centerville in 1993, he lived in Arizona and California. Mr. Rietz was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hyannis, where he worked with the Food Pantry, and a member of the Board of Deacons and the Board of Trustees. He was also a member of the Mariners Lodge AF & AM in Cotuit and the Osterville Men's Club and its bowling league. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, gardening and golfing.

Surviving besides his wife are a son, Keith Rietz of Plainville, Ind.; a daughter, Claudia Butler of Rochester; a brother, John Rietz of Wrentham; two grandchildren; and a niece and a nephew.

A memorial service was held at the First Baptist Church of Hyannis. Burial was private.

George A. Skinner, 82

Jacksonville, Fla. - George A. Skinner, 82, formerly of Centerville, died June 6 at the Baptist Medical Center.

He was the husband of Ethel (Galloway) Skinner, who died in 1997.

Born in Pittsfield, N.H., Mr. Skinner had lived in Fernandina Beach, Fla., since 1990, moving there from Centerville. He served in the Army during World War Il and worked for many years for New England Telephone Co., retiring as an executive in 1975.

Mr. Skinner was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Fernandina Beach and the Masons in New Hampshire.

Surviving are three sons, David Skinner of Chesterland, Ohio, Raymond Skifiner of Londonderry, N.H., and James Skinner of Scituate; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service was held at the Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 160 W. Main St., Hyannis.

Burial was private.

John H. Stewart, 68

Centerville - John H. Stewart, 68, a former engineer, died June 10 at his home in Centerville.

He was the husband of Harriet (Misterly) Stewart for 44 years.

Born in Langdon, N.D., he graduated from Langdon High School in 1948 and from MIT in 1953.

He was a resident of Needham before retiring to his summer home in Centerville five years ago. He worked as an engineer for Allied Research Associates, E.G. & G, Dennison Corporation & Cabot Corporation.

Mr. Stewart was a member of Experimental Aircraft Association in Marstons Mills and St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Osterville.

Surviving besides his wife are five sons, Michael F. Stewart and Richard M. Stewart, both of Needham, John G. Stewart of Vienna, W.Va., Andrew W. Stewart of Waitsfield, Vt., and Daniel G. Stewart of Boston; a sister, Sally Bowles of Eden Prairie, Minn.; and six grandchildren.

A funeral service was held at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Osterville. Burial was private.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Osterville, MA 02655.
