NORTH BROOKFIELD -- Rose E. Gadbois, 82, of Mount Guyot St., a former shoe worker, died Saturday, May 12, in UMass Memorial Medical Center -- Memorial Campus, Worcester.

She leaves her husband of 52 years, Hervey R. Gadbois; a son, Raymond H. Gadbois of North Brookfield; two daughters, Juliette R. St. Jacques of North Brookfield and Janet H. Marchessault of Ware; two brothers, Frank J. Bachand Jr. of Dudley and Gerald Bachand of Douglas; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Her first husband, Joseph Gulczynski, died in 1946. She was born in Dudley, daughter of Frank J. and Isola (Sorel) Bachand, and lived 12 years in Webster. She moved to North Brookfield in 1948.

She worked at B & W Shoe Co. while living in Webster.

Mrs. Gadbois was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary in Ware, the American Legion Auxiliary of Spencer and St. Joseph's Church.

The funeral will be held at a later date. There are no public calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph's Building Fund, c/o St. Joseph's Church, 28 Mount Pleasant St., North Brookfield, MA 01535. Varnum Funeral Home, 43 East Main St., West Brookfield, is directing arrangements.

Joan M. MacMunn, 62

HUDSON -- Joan M. (Martel) MacMunn, 62, of Hudson, a business owner and operator, died Monday, May 6, in Worcester.

She leaves three sons, Joseph MacMunn and William MacMunn Jr., both of Hudson, and Michael MacMunn of Westfield; a sister, Phyllis Kerrigan of Hudson; five grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She was born in Marlboro, daughter of Joseph and Ellen (Flanagan) Martel, and graduated from St. Michael's Academy in 1956.

Mrs. MacMunn owned Pick and Poke Doll Shop, which she operated from home.

The funeral will be held Friday, May 11, from Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., with a Mass at 9 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 48 Central St. Burial will be in Forestvale Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 10, in the funeral home. Donations may be made to Leukemia Society of America, Massachusetts Chapter, 495 Old Connecticut Path, Framingham, MA 01701.

Lena F.A. Maietta, 80

MILFORD -- Lena F.A. (Leone) Maietta, 80, of 1 Countryside Lane, a former hairdresser and assembler, died Tuesday, May 8, in Geriatric Authority of Milford.

Her husband, Peter J. Maietta, died in 1978. She leaves three daughters, Mary Lou Haley, Jean Crisafulli and Cheryl Moffi, all of Milford; a brother, Frank Leone of Uxbridge; three sisters, Rose Levine and Frances Ostertag, both of Framingham, and Mary McGowan of Natick; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Anthony and Michael Leone, a sister, Ann Pasquantonio, and a grandson predeceased her. She was born in Natick, daughter of Joseph and Mary (Cardellichio) Leone, and lived most of her life in Milford. She was educated in Natick schools.

Mrs. Maietta was a hairdresser in Wellesley and an assembler at Fenwal Corp. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and volunteered for Tri Valley Elders. She enjoyed bingo, dancing and crocheting.The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, May 11, from Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home, 46 Water St., with Mass at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 5 East Main St. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Calling hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 10, in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701; or to Geriatric Authority of Milford, 1 Countryside Lane, Milford, MA 01757.

Antonio M. Marcos, 88

MILFORD -- Antonio M. Marcos, 88, of 59 Lawrence St., a retired laborer, died Wednesday, May 9, in Hopedale.

His wife, Adelaide (Faia) Marcos, died in 1968. He leaves two sons, Angelo Marcos and Flaviano Regedor, both of Milford; two daughters, Julia Hipolito of Milford and Matilde Feijo of Hopedale; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a nephew and a niece. He was born in Portugal, son of Angelo and Julia (Nunes) Marcos, and came to Milford in 1963.

Mr. Marcos was a laborer for Draper Corp., retiring in 1974. He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church and the Milford Senior Center.

The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 12, from Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home, 46 Water St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Winter Street. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 11, in the funeral home.

John N. Colacchio, 80

MARLBORO -- John N. Colacchio, 80, a retired machinist, died Saturday, June 2, in Marlboro Hospital, after a long illness.He leaves his wife of 61 years, Alice M. (Damico) Colacchio; two daughters, Catherine D. Kyper and Amy B. Smith, both of Marlboro; four sons, Thomas A. Colacchio of Berlin, John T., Stephen E. and David F. Colacchio, all of Marlboro; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. Born in Marlboro, son of Thomas J. and Grace (Martino) Colacchio, he lived here all his life.

Mr. Colacchio was a machinist for the former Johnson Claflin Co. and the former Marlboro Wire Goods Co., retiring in 1983.

He was a lifelong member of St. Ann's Parish and an active member of the former Couples Club. An avid gardener, he was well-known for his home's extensive garden.The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, from William R. Short and Son Funeral Home, 95 West Main St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Ann's Church, 466 Lincoln St. Burial will be in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Calling hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to St. Ann's Church, 466 Lincoln St., Marlboro, MA 01752 or the American Heart Association, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.

Antoinette Colliss, 87

WARREN -- Antoinette (Fountain) Colliss, 87, of Winthrop Terrace, a retired Avon salesperson, died Sunday, June 3, in Quaboag on the Common, West Brookfield.Her husband of 37 years, Harry H. Colliss, died in 1971. She leaves a son, Henry R. Colliss of West Brookfield; two daughters, Nancy J. Seeton of West Brookfield, and Dianne M. Nichols of West Warren; three brothers, Alfred A. and Milton O. Fountain, both of Warren, and Richard G. Fountain of Kingfield, Maine; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Born in Holyoke, daughter of George and Blanche (Trudell) Fountain, she graduated from the former Warren High School and lived here approximately 80 years.

Mrs. Colliss worked nearly 50 years selling Avon products before retiring.

She was a member of St. Paul's Church.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, in St. Paul's Church. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery. Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Varnum Funeral Home, 43 East Main St., West Brookfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the West Brookfield Rescue Squad, Inc., PO Box 540, West Brookfield, MA 01585, or the Warren Fire Department Ambulance, PO Box 608, Warren, MA 01083.

John T. Corcoran, 61

SHREWSBURY -- John T. “Jay” Corcoran, 61, of 14 Eagle Drive, died Monday, June 4, in UMass Memorial Medical Center -- University Campus, Worcester, of complications from diabetes.

He leaves his wife, Catherine M. (Goggin) Corcoran; a daughter, Karen M. Porter of North Granby, Conn.; his former wife, Margaret A. (Owen) Corcoran of Woburn; a stepdaughter, Tammy J. Gehring of Oakham; two stepsons, Shawn A. Nadeau of Worcester and Scott E. Nadeau of Southbridge; and five grandchildren. He was born in Boston, son of John J. and Mary S. (Jones) Corcoran, and lived seven years in Rutland and many years in Worcester before moving to Shrewsbury three years ago. He graduated from Brighton High School and attended Boston College, Harvard University, and Boston University.

Mr. Corcoran was a production inventory control manager for 20 years for New England Business Services, Groton. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Allston Council 555, where he was a past grand knight. He was a member of the American Production and Inventory Control Society.

The funeral service, burial in Mountain View Cemetery, and calling hours will be private. Please omit flowers. Memorial donations may be made to Rutland Fire/Ambulance Gift Fund, c/o Rutland Fire Department, Rutland, MA 01543. Edna L. Dodd, 93

WESTBORO -- Edna L. Dodd, 93, of 1 Lyman St., a longtime Statehouse worker, died Wednesday, May 30, in Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center.

She leaves a sister, Gloria D. Bayliss of Worcester; nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnieces. Two brothers, Francis and William Dodd, and a sister, Dorothy McDonald, predeceased her. She was born in Boston, daughter of Francis W. and Miriam (Greenway) Dodd, and graduated from Westboro High School in 1926. She graduated from Framingham Normal School in 1929.

Miss Dodd was a senior clerk at the Statehouse in Boston, where she worked for 40 years before retiring in 1978. She was a member of Evangelical Congregational Church and its Women's Fellowship, and the Westboro Women's Club.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 4, in Evangelical Congregational Church, West Main Street. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Evangelical Congregational Church Memorial Fund, 8 Church St., Westboro, MA 01581. Rand-Harper-Pickering Westboro Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., is directing arrangements.

Edward W. Fox, 83

Generosa Gende, 91

FITCHBURG -- Generosa (Martinez) Gende, 91, of Keystone Drive, Leominster, died Saturday, June 2, in HealthAlliance Leominster Hospital, after a long illness.

Her husband, Manuel Gende, died in 1972. She leaves two sons, Jose Luis and Jesus Gende, both of Uruguay; a daughter, Maria Del Carmon of Fitchburg; two grandsons and two granddaughters; nephews and nieces. She was born in Spain, daughter of Antonio and Manuela (Alonso) Martinez, and lived in Uraguay, before moving to Fitchburg in 1980.

Mrs. Gende attended St. Francis of Assisi Church and St. Bernard's Church.

There are no planned funeral services at the family's request. There are no calling hours. The Lavery-Chartrand Funeral Home, 99 Summer St., is directing arrangements.

James W. Giblin, 77

SHREWSBURY -- James W. Giblin, 77, of 106 North St., a retired foreman and World War II veteran, died Sunday, June 3, in the UMass Memorial Medical Center -- University Center, Worcester, after an illness.

He leaves a daughter, Gayle M. Giblin of Northboro; a son, Kevin H. Giblin of Southboro; three grandchildren; nephews and nieces. Three brothers, Leonard R. Giblin of Westboro, John P. Giblin of Millbury and Thomas Giblin of California, predeceased him. He was born in Westboro, son of Thomas and Margaret (Kerrigan) Giblin and lived 40 years in Shrewsbury. He graduated from the Westboro school system and its high school. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving as a gunners mate.

Mr. Giblin was a plant foreman at Norton Abrasive Company, Worcester, for 50 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Church. He was a former member of the Church of Saint Luke the Evangelist, Westboro. He was a fourth degree member of the Adelphi Council 4181 K.O.C. and the Vincent P. Picard American Legion Post 234, Northboro.

The funeral, with military honors, with be held Thursday, June 7, from the Britton-Summers Funeral Home, 4 Church St., Westboro, with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in the Church of Saint Luke the Evangelist, 70 West Main St., Westboro. Burial will be in Saint Luke's Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, in the funeral home.

He leaves a daughter, Gayle M. Anderson of Northboro; a son, Kevin H. Giblin of Southboro; three grandchildren; nephews and nieces. Three brothers, Leonard R. Giblin of Westboro, John P. BOSTON -- Loretta C. (Corkery) Griffin of Jamaica Plain and West Roxbury, died Tuesday, June 5, in Avery Manor Nursing Home, Needham.

Her husband predeceased her. She leaves two sons; two daughters; two sisters; 18 grandchildren, including James M. Griffin of Sutton; and 14 great-grandchildren. A son predeceased her.

The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, June 8, from Robert J. Lawler & Crosby Funeral Home, 1803 Centre St., West Roxbury, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, South Street, Jamaica Plain. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.
