William Olenik, 99
BERLIN -- William Olenik, 99, of 84 Summer Road, died Sunday, July 29, in Westridge Healthcare Center, Marlboro, after an illness.

His wife, Hazel (Webb) Olenik, died in 1988. He leaves three sons, William C. Olenik of Revere, Laurie D. Reeves of Everett, and Ronald W. Reeves of South Lancaster; a daughter, Pauline McLaughlin of Charlestown; 22 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A daughter, Ada Tibbetts, died in 1996. He was born in the Ukraine, son of Philip and Maria (Pankiev) Olenik, and lived 45 years in Berlin. He served in the Marine Corps between World War I and World War II.

Mr. Olenik worked more than 30 years at the former General Baking Co. in Charlestown. He also worked many years at the McCarthy Brothers Store in Charlestown. He retired several years ago.

He was a member of the Berlin Senior Citizens Center and the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Northboro.

The funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, in Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in South Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations made be made to the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Northboro, 30 Brigham St., Nothrboro, MA 01532.

CALVERT, Ala. -- Joseph J. Orlowski, 67, of Calvert, formerly of Dudley, Mass., died Sunday, July 29, in Calvert.

He leaves his wife of 27 years, Alberta Orlowski; a son, James Orlowski of Florida; two daughters, Tammy and Bonnie Orlowski, both of Coventry, Conn. ; three stepdaughters in Alabama; two stepsons, Bruce Beique of Thompson, Conn., and Alan Beique of Oxford, Mass. ; three sisters, Rita Bennett of Killingly, Conn., Esther Orlowski and his twin, Josephine Saad, both of Dudley; and two brothers, Raymond Orlowski of Dudley and Andrew Orlowski of California.

The memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6, in St. Andrew Bobola Church, West Main Street, Dudley. There are no calling hours.

NORTHBORO -- The funeral for James W. Pantazis, 81, of 161 Hudson St., who died Friday, Aug. 3, in UMass Memorial Medical Center -- University Campus, Worcester, after a brief illness, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell St., Worcester.

NEW CARLISLE, Ohio -- Robert J. “Tony” Pareseau, 54, of New Carlisle, formerly of Worcester, Mass., a mechanic and a veteran of the Vietnam War, died July 6 in Grandview Hospital.

He leaves his wife of 30 years, Peggy D. Pareseau; three daughters, Jennifer and Jacquelyn S. Pareseau, both of New Carlisle, and Angela Richendollar of Springfield, Ohio; his parents, Paul and Mafalda (Elce) Pareseau of Arlington, Texas; three sisters, Judith A. Pickett of Worcester, Paula M. Holland of Arlington, Texas, and Corrine E. Thomason of Victoria, Texas; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He was born in Wellesley, Mass., and lived in Worcester before moving to Burlington, Mass., in 1961 and later to Ohio. He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War.

Mr. Pareseau was a maintenance mechanic at Cargill. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church; a member and president of Medlake Lions Club; and a member of the MG Car Club of Dayton. He was a past Explorer Scout, and enjoyed bowling and golfing.

The funeral was held in Fairborn.

Jennie C. Pernoski, 95

GARDNER -- Jennie C. (Morze) Pernoski, 95, formerly of 310 West Broadway, a retired stitcher, died Thursday, Aug. 2, in Baldwinville Nursing Home, Templeton, after an illness.

Her husband of 60 years, Frank Pernoski, died in 1986. She leaves a daughter, Phyllis M. Ladeau of Winchendon; a grandson, David M. Padeni of Jaffrey, N. H. ; a granddaughter, Tracy A. Padeni of Augusta, Ga. ; three great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces.

She was born in Gardner, daughter of Wladyslaw and Antonina (Wisniewski) Morze. She moved to the nursing home two years ago.

Mrs. Pernoski was a stitcher at Collier Keyworth Co. before retiring. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church and its Holy Rosary Sodality. She was a former member of Gardner Golden Age Club.

The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6, in St. Joseph's Church, 358 Pleasant St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, in Snow-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central St., Winchendon. Memorial donations may be made to Baldwinville Nursing Home, Residents Activity Fund, PO Box 24, Baldwinville, MA 01436; or to St. Joseph's Church, Renovation Fund, 358 Pleasant St., Gardner, MA 01440.

Anthony J. Praderio, 75
MEDIA, Pa. -- Anthony J. Praderio, 75, of Media, formerly of Clinton, Mass., a World War II veteran and a retired aeronautical engineer, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, in Riddle Memorial Hospital.

He leaves his wife, Hildegard R. (Schaller) Praderio; a daughter, Serle of Media; a brother, Paul Praderio of Clinton; four sisters, Marie and Natalie Praderio, Rose Keisling and Josephine Kowalik, all of Clinton; and three grandchildren. He was born in Clinton, son of Angelo and Matilda (Peloli) Praderio, and moved to Media about 40 years ago. He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II.

Mr. Praderio was an aeronautical engineer for 26 years for Boeing in Ridley Township, Delaware County, Pa., before retiring. He was a member of the American Helicopter Society and enjoyed building things.

The memorial service will be held at noon Saturday, Aug. 4, in Cavanagh-Patterson Funeral Home, 43 East Baltimore Ave. Burial will be at a later date in Clinton. A calling hour is 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 4, in the funeral home. Donations may be made to NINDS (National Institute of Neurological Disorders & Strokes), Building 31, Room 8A38, 31 Center Drive, MSC 2540, Bethesda, MD 20892-2540.

HUDSON -- Debra J. Rand, 43, of Hudson, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, at home after a long illness.

She leaves a son, Michael Socobasin of Boston; her parents, Edwin and Nancy (Harris) Rand of Lynchburg, Va. ; four brothers, Thomas Rand of Rochester, Douglas Rand of Franklin, N. H., Edwin Rand of Westboro, and Jon Rand of South Dakota; a granddaughter. A daughter, Heather Socobasin, died in 1999. She was born in Boston, and lived many years in Hudson. She attended Hudson High School.

Ms. Rand was a desk clerk at the Driftwood Hotel in Honolulu before becoming ill.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, in Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St. Burial will be in Forestvale Cemetery. Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, in the funeral home.

BUFFALO, N. Y. -- Frank D. Reilly, 68, of Buffalo, formerly of Gardner, Mass., died Tuesday, July 31, in Buffalo General Hospital.

He leaves two daughters, Deborah Maillet of Orange and Meredith C. Reilly of Buffalo; a brother, David Reilly of California; a sister, Barbara Reilly of Florida; two granddaughters; several nephews and nieces. He was born in Gardner, son of Francis T. and Catherine D. (Bean) Reilly, and lived 39 years in Buffalo. He graduated from Gardner High School and the New England Conservatory of Music. He completed a fellowship at the Berkshire Music Center. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Mr. Reilly was a career musician, and studied violin. He played with several opera companies and orchestras, including the Amerita String Orchestra in Philadelphia and the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra.

The memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, in Smith Funeral Home, 69 Vernon St. Burial will be in Green Bower Cemetery, Gardner. There are no calling hours. Donations may be made to the New England Conservatory of Music, 290 Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02115.

WORCESTER -- Michael “Geetzo” Ricardi, 69, of 16 Gage St., a retired truck driver, died Tuesday, July 24, in Salisbury Nursing & Rehabilitation Center after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 49 years, Rose A. (Monfreda) Ricardi; two sons, Joseph M. and Michael F. Ricardi, both of Worcester; a daughter, Donna A. Ceccarini of Worcester; three sisters, Martha Hopkins and Frances Terry, both of Worcester, and Lucy Belles of Oxford; eight grandchildren; three nephews and a niece. A brother, Pasquale Ricciardi, and two sisters, Philomena Ricciardi and Ann Gardner, predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Joseph and Angelina (Notarangelo) Ricciardi. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, and was awarded the Purple Heart.

Mr. Ricardi was a truck driver for Bayer and Mingolla Construction Co. before retiring. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel-St. Ann Church, Italian American Veterans Post 3, Teamsters Union Local 70, and Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed traveling.

The funeral will be held Thursday, July 26, from Arthur S. Manzi & Son Funeral Home and Garden Chapel, 179 Shrewsbury St., with a Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel-St. Ann Church, 24 Mulberry St. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, in the funeral home.

WORCESTER -- Margaret D. Robichaud, 94, formerly of 20 Enfield St., died Tuesday, July 24, in Life Care Center of Auburn after an illness.

She leaves several nephews and nieces. Seven sisters, Flora Grimley, Anne Fryberg, Albertine Lyons, Cecelia Hammerstrom, Dorilla Peloquin, Bertha Gilman and Mae Costello, and two brothers, Romeo and Joseph Robichaud, predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Joseph L. and Margaret (Leveille) Robichaud, and graduated from a Worcester high school.

Ms. Robichaud was a self-employed hairdresser. She was a longtime member of Notre Dame des Canadiens Church.

The funeral will be held Thursday, July 26, from Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Notre Dame des Canadiens Church, Salem Square. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. A calling hour is 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday, July 26, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Life Care Center of Auburn Activities Fund, 14 Masonic Circle, Auburn, MA 01501; or to Mercy Center, 25 West Chester St., Worcester, MA 01605.

Charles L. Rudolph, 76
SMYRNA, Ga. -- Charles L. Rudolph, 76, of Smyrna, formerly of Worcester, Mass., a World War II veteran and a retired commercial artist, died Wednesday, July 25, in Cobb County.

He leaves his wife, Irene I. (Wheeler) Rudolph, formerly of Worcester; two daughters, Barbara R. Eshoo of North Windham, Conn., and Diane E. Mintz of Marietta, both formerly of Worcester; sisters, grandchildren, nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, son of Charles L. and Winifred B. (Newton) Rudolph, and lived many years in Smyrna. He graduated from Commerce High School, Worcester, and from Vesper George School of Art, Boston. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Mr. Rudolph was a commercial artist at Woodbury and Co., Worcester, and then continued to work in commercial art in Ohio and Kentucky. He was national art director for Curtis 1000's national headquarters in the Atlanta area. After retiring, he remained active with survivors and reunion groups of the USS Ommaney Bay, which sank in the Pacific during World War II. He also taught art to children, adults and senior citizens and volunteered with senior citizen groups.

The memorial service was held in Smyrna. Memorial donations may be made to C. Freeman Poole Senior Center, 4025 South Hurt Road, Smyrna, GA 30082.
