AUBURN -- Jack Beaudet, infant son of Matthew J. and Kerry A. (Lannon) Beaudet of 36 Old Cart Road, died Monday, Jan. 28, the day he was born, in UMass Memorial Medical Center -- Memorial Campus, Worcester.

Besides his parents, he leaves his paternal grandparents, Robert F. and Rita F. (O' Neil) Beaudet of Auburn; his maternal grandparents, John J. and Kathleen A. (Bradley) Lannon of Sutton; and his maternal great-grandmother, Grace Bradley of Worcester.

The private graveside service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 30, in Hillside Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., is directing arrangements.

Steven M. Bessette, 41
Wednesday, January 30, 2002

SHREWSBURY -- Steven M. Bessette, 41, of 6 George St., formerly of 43 Walter St., a former mental health counselor, died Sunday, Jan. 27, at home of complications from an injury.

He leaves his parents, Joseph "Clem" and Patricia D. (McManus) Bessette of Worcester; his maternal grandmother, Violet E. (Wells) McManus of Worcester; his paternal grandmother, Juliette (Lessard) Bessette of Quebec; two sisters, Tracy L. Mannila of Dudley and Susan E. Bessette of Sutton; a niece and four nephews. He was born in Worcester and lived there many years before moving to Shrewsbury. He graduated from St. John's High School and was part of the 1978 Superbowl team. He attended Framingham State College.

Mr. Bessette was a mental health counselor at UMass Medical Center, Worcester. He was a former member of Christ the King Church, Worcester. He was a sports fan and enjoyed playing the guitar.

The funeral will be held Thursday, Jan. 31, from O'Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Ave., Worcester, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant St., Worcester. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Why Me Inc., 1152 Pleasant St., Worcester, MA 01602.

Francesco Bianco, 62

AUBURN -- Francesco Bianco, 62, of 77 Rochdale St., died Saturday, Feb. 2, in UMass Memorial Medical Center -- Memorial Campus, Worcester, after an illness.

He leaves his wife, Margot (Erika) Bianco; a son, Angelo Bianco of Mainz-Kostheim, Germany; two daughters, Raffaela Bianco of Mainz-Kostheim and Daniela Bilone-Bianco of Florsheim, Germany; three brothers, Pasquale "Patsy" and Anthony Bianco, both of Worcester, and Giuseppe Bianco of Acri, Italy; a sister, Raffaela Algieri of Worcester; two grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He was born in Acri, Provenci de Cosenza, Italy, son of Luigi and Adela (Scaglione) Bianco, and came to the United States in 1985.

Mr. Bianco worked in the family business, Tony Bianco Masonry in Worcester, before retiring because of illness. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel-St. Ann Church, Worcester.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, Feb. 6, from the Garden Chapel of Arthur S. Manzi & Son Funeral Home, 179 Shrewsbury St., Worcester, with a Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel-St. Ann Church, 24 Mulberry St., Worcester. Prayers of final commendation will be held in the Kennedy Chapel of Rural Crematory, Worcester. Burial of ashes will be held at a later date in Germany. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, in the funeral home.

George A. Bilodeau, 75

HUDSON -- George A. Bilodeau, 75, of Hudson, a World War II veteran, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, at his home.

A wife, Maxine (Pearl) Bilodeau, died in 1992. He leaves two sons, Richard Bilodeau of Hudson and James Bilodeau of Monument, Colo.; four daughters, Barbara Keefe, Janice Howes, Renee Parke, all of Hudson; and Linda McCanus of Collegeville, Pa.; a sister, Ann Silva of Hudson; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. A son, Joseph Bilodeau, died in 1995. He was born in Brockton, son of Joseph and Beatrice (Durand) Bilodeeu. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Mr. Bilodeau worked as a baker at the Wonder Bread Co., Natick, until he retired. He was a member of St. Michael's Church, and a coach for the Hudson Youth Baseball League.

The funeral will be held Friday, Feb. 1, from the Tighe Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., with a funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in St. Michael's Church, 21 Manning St. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Wayside Hospice, 266 Cochituate Road, Wayside, MA 01778.

Geraldine E. Bock, 70
Tuesday, January 29, 2002

FLORIDA -- Geraldine E. (Todd) Bock, 70, of Florida, formerly of Connecticut, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, in Florida.

Her husband, Herbert G. Bock, predeceased her. She leaves two sons, including Randy H. Bock of Sutton, Mass.; a daughter; a brother; six grandchildren; nephews and nieces.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at the New Britain Memorial-Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain, Conn. Calling hours are 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wuesthoff Brevard Hospice, 119 Longwood Ave., Rockledge, FL 32956.

William J. Brennan, 71
Sunday, January 27, 2002

MARLBORO -- William J. Brennan, 71, of 36 Tremont St., a Korean War veteran, died Friday, Jan. 25, in Marlboro Hospital after an illness.

He leaves four brothers, Leo F., George A. and Robert B. Brennan, all of Marlboro and Walter C. Brennan of Centerville; three sisters, Marjorie Bruso, Dorothy McNally and Mildred McCarthy, all of Marlboro; and many nieces and nephews. He was born in Boston, son of Matthew J. and Edna E. (Regan) Brennan, and lived his entire life here. He graduated from Marlboro High School, where he was a standout athlete. He then earned a football scholarship to the College of the Holy Cross, graduating in 1955. He earned a degree in law from Portia Law School, Boston, in 1958. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Mr. Brennan worked at his own law firm in Marlboro, which he opened in 1967. Previously, he had worked for Haddad, Lynch and Brennan. He served many years as solicitor and assistant solicitor for the city of Marlboro. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Marlboro Country Club and the ITAM Club. He was a former chairman of the Marlboro Democratic City Committee.

The funeral will be held Tuesday. Jan. 29, from John P. Rowe Funeral Home, 57 Main St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Calling hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 40 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.

Dorothy M. Brown, 71,
Tuesday, January 29, 2002

THOMPSON -- Dorothy M. Brown, 71, formerly of 185 Sand Dam Road, died Sunday, Jan. 27, at Day Kimball Hospital, Putnam, following an illness.

She leaves a daughter, Veronica I.J. Brown of Maine; a brother, Rudolph Bourbeau of Franklin, Conn.; four sisters, Sandra Bates with whom she had previously lived, Murriel Parks of Rhode Island, Ida Dennis of Maine, and Rose Bowser of Florida; nephews and nieces. Twelve brothers and sister predeceased her. She was born in Putnam, daughter of Joseph and Georgina (LeFleur) Bourbeau, and had recently been living in Danielson.

Ms. Brown was a homemaker and enjoyed crafts.

The funeral and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam, is directing arrangements.

Margaret J. Brown, 98
Friday, February 01, 2002

WORCESTER -- Margaret J. (Rankin) Brown, 98, of 378 Plantation St., died Tuesday, Jan. 29, in University Commons, after a long illness.

She leaves a son, Richard A. Brown of Worcester; a brother, Hugh D. Rankin of Worcester; two sisters, Hazel A. Wojtanek and Shirley M. Wood, both of Worcester; four step-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Three brothers and six sisters, predeceased her. She was born in Belfast, Ireland, daughter of William J. and Mary (Hammond) Rankin, and came to the U.S. 95 years ago. She was educated in Worcester schools.

Ms. Brown was an inspector at the former Telechron, retiring in 1969. She was a charter member of the Wesley United Methodist Church.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 114 Main St. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wesley United Methodist Church Music Fund, 114 Main St., Worcester, MA 01608. Graham Putnam & Mahoney Funeral Parlors, 838 Main St., is directing arrangements.

Gloria M. Bruno, 57
Sunday, January 27, 2002

FITCHBURG -- Gloria M. Bruno, 57, of 389 Rollstone St., died Saturday, Jan. 26, at the UMass Memorial Medical Center -- University Campus, Worcester, after a long illness.

She leaves her husband of 30 years, Robert Vasquez; a son, Louis Vasquez of New York City; two daughters, Jassy Vasquez of Fitchburg and Tammy Gomez of New York City; three brothers, Jose Bruno of Gardner, Juan R. and Iko Bruno, both of Puerto Rico; four sisters, Josephine and Julia Bruno, both of Florida, Lucy Bruno of Puerto Rico, Valeerie Vasquez of Worcester; and two grandchildren. She was born in Puerto Rico, daughter of Eduvijes and Leonito (Lozada) Bruno, and lived in New York City before moving to Fitchburg 10 years ago.

The funeral service and burial will be held in Puerto Rico. Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, at the Louis M. Isabelle Funeral Home, 316 Clarendon St.

George Caron, 57

THOMPSON -- George Caron, 57, of 515 Thompson Road, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, at Hubbard Regional Hospital in Webster.

He leaves a wife, Pauline (Ziemski) McKissick Caron; a daughter, Shannon Caron Lopes of Newport, R.I.; two brothers, Leo Caron of Attawaugan section of Killingly, Conn., Robert Caron of Putnam; two sisters, Eva Smith of Puyallup, Wash. and Marie Duhaime of North Grosvenordale; a stepson, Dana McKissick of Thompson; two stepdaughters, Linda Fitzgerald of Thompson and Marion Petrunia of North Grosvenordale; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. Two brothers and two sisters, predeceased him. He was born in Peterboro, N.H., son of Hosanna J. and Marie (LaFortune) Caron.

Mr. Caron was a furniture assembler for Ethan Allen Furniture Co., Dudley. He had previously worked for Webster Spring, Oxford; Angelo Fabrics, Webster, International Paper and Belding Hemingway, both in Putnam. He enjoyed dancing, model building and woodworking.

The funeral service will be at noon Saturday, Feb. 2, in the Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Calling hours are 10 to noon Saturday, Feb. 2, in the funeral home.

Mary E. Clarke, 81

SOUTHBRIDGE -- Mary E. (Canty) Clarke, 81, formerly of 554 South St., a retired secretary, died Monday, Jan. 28, in Harrington Memorial Hospital after an illness.

She leaves her husband of 59 years, D. Harvey Clarke; two sons, Stephen D. Clarke of Sturbridge and Christopher H. Clarke of Southbridge; two daughters, Jane F. Clarke-Logee of Acton and Martha A. Clarke of Worcester; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She was born in Springfield, daughter of Timothy and Frances (Drake) Canty, and lived here most of her life. She graduated from Cathedral High School, Springfield.

Mrs. Clarke was secretary to the principal at Southbridge High School for more than 20 years before retiring. She was a member of St. Mary's Church and a former member of its St. Rita Society. She enjoyed dancing, gardening and reading.

The funeral will be held Thursday, Jan. 31, from Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., with a Mass at 1 p.m. in St. Mary's Church, 263 Hamilton St. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Calling hours are 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Massachusetts Association for the Blind, 51 Harvard St., Worcester, MA 01609.

Cohen-Wilson service

WORCESTER -- The funeral service for Bella (Weintraub) Cohen-Wilson, 82, of 770 Salisbury St., who died Monday, Jan. 28, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, in Temple Emanuel, 280 May St. Burial will be in B'nai B'rith Cemetery. Memorial observance will be held through Saturday evening, Feb. 2, at her residence.

Her husband of six years, Henry Wilson, died in 1998. She leaves two daughters, Marjorie Potash of Shrewsbury and Terry Blair of Cornish, N.H.; two brothers, Alfred and Manny Weintraub, both of Worcester; and four grandchildren. Her first husband, of 45 years, Melvin M. Cohen, died in 1987. A brother, Robert Weintraub, also predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Samuel and Ida (Adelson) Weintraub, and lived here most of her life. She lived 10 years in Shrewsbury and Westboro, returning to Worcester 10 years ago. She graduated from Classical High School and from Clark University in 1987.

Mrs. Cohen-Wilson was a drama and religion teacher at Temple Emanuel. She also taught at Worcester Alternative School. She was a member of Temple Emanuel, National Council of Jewish Women, Worcester chapter of Hadassah, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Jewish Healthcare Center, National Women's Committee of Brandeis University and the Jewish Community Center.

M.C. Coleman, 77

NORTHBRIDGE -- M.C. Coleman, 77, of Providence Road, formerly of Worcester, a retired mechanic, died Friday, Jan. 25, in Northbridge Nursing Home after a long illness.

He leaves his wife, Bertha L. (Bouyer) Coleman; five sons, M.C. Coleman Jr. of Fairview, N.C., Larry Coleman of Rutland, Jerry Coleman of Shrewsbury, Melvin Coleman of California and Ricky Coleman of Worcester; four daughters, Julia Foster of Milwaukee, Linda Dussey and Patricia Coleman, both of Worcester, and Lorraine Coleman of Anderson, Ala.; a stepson, Johnny Avery of Anderson; two brothers, Henry Lee Coleman of Coaling, Ala., and Johnny Lee Coleman of St. Louis; three sisters, Katherine Walker of Coaling, Helen Harris of Roanoke, Ala., and Lonnie Mae Morse of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; 28 grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He was born in Cottondale, Ala., son of Mary E. Coleman.

Mr. Coleman was a mechanic at Norton Co., Worcester, before retiring.

The funeral service will be held in Cottondale. Burial will be in Sandy Creek Cemetery, Cottondale. There are no local calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Diabetes Association, Massachusetts Affiliate, 1 Bromfield St., Boston, MA 02108. Caswell-King Funeral Home, 474 Grove St., is directing arrangements.

Richard G. Covello, 66

WORCESTER -- Richard G. Covello, 66, of 15 Hanna Road, retired bank executive and Korean War veteran, died Thursday, Jan. 31, in the UMass Memorial Medical Center -- Memorial Campus after being stricken ill at home.

He leaves his wife of 41 years, Mary L. (Dunn) Covello; a son, Richard T. Covello of Worcester; a daughter, Lorrinda M. Covello of Worcester; two brothers, Henry Covello of Palisades Park, N.J. and George Perri of Shrewsbury; nieces and nephews. A brother, Samuel Covello died January 4. Two other brothers, Frank and Anthony Covello, and two sisters, Sophie Groccia and Nancy Bujnowski, predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Antonio and Louise (Perri) Covello. He graduated from Worcester Public Schools and earned his degree in banking from Brown University. He was a Air Force Veteran of Korean War.

Mr. Covello worked for more than 30 years as a bank executive for the former Peoples Bank, retiring in 1993. He was a member of the Christ the King Church, and a member and past president of the American Institute of Banking. He served as chairman of the National and Local Forum and Seminar Committees, and Associate Council Central and Eastern Massachusetts. He was a co-founder, and past treasurer of the Worcester County Fraudulent Check Association, a member, past president and secretary of the Savings Bank Forum Group, past president of the Leukemia Society and a member of the Officers Club of Massachusetts.

The funeral will be held Saturday, Feb. 2, from the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St. with Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant St. Burial will be in St John's Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia Society of America, Mass Chapter, 495 Old Connecticut Path, Suite 220 Framingham MA 01701 or the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.
