MARY F. CUFF
CUMBERLAND - Mary Frances Cuff, 62, of Cumberland, died Thursday, Dec. 17, 1998, at Memorial Hospital.
Born May 21, 1936, in Cresaptown, she was the daughter of Helen (Cecil) Winkler, of Cresaptown, and the late Martin D. Cuff.

Miss Cuff was a homemaker. She attended the Goodwill Center, Cumberland. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and the Homemaker Club.

Surviving in addition to her mother are her stepfather, James Winkler; one sister, Paula O'Brien and husband Michael, Romney, W.Va.; two nieces, Christa Daskal, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Erin Daskal-Meerzaman and husband Daoud, Alexandria, Va.; and many extended family members at the Brandenburg Center.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., Cresaptown, Monday from 11 a.m. to noon.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home Monday at noon with Father Reginald Russo, OFM, Cap., officiating.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.

SHIRLEY A. BROADWATER
MOSCOW - Shirley A. Broadwater, 55, of Moscow, went to be with the Lord Wedensday, Sept. 2, 1998, at her home.
Born Dec. 2, 1942, in Westernport, she was the daughter of the late William Mongold and the late Nina E. (Dye) Mongold Symons. She also was preceded in death by an infant son, Stevie Joe Broadwater.

Mrs. Broadwater was the lead cook at the Ponderosa Steak House, LaVale. She was a member of the Victory Baptist Church, Keyser, W.Va.

Surviving are her husband, Garland D. Broadwater; one son, Garland D. Broadwater II, Keyser; nine brothers, Joseph Mongold and wife Janet, Akron, Ohio, Jack Mongold and wife Zennia, Moscow, William Mongold, Akron, Dave Mongold and wife Diane, Hopewell, Va., Richard Mongold and wife Mary, Carpendale, W.Va., Charles Symons and wife Rebecca, Frostburg, James Symons, Burlington, N.C., Tom Symons, Westernport, and Elwood "Woody" Symons, Barton; five sisters, Nancy Crowe and husband Ivan, Barton, Diana Grady and husband Rob, Piedmont, W.Va., Kay Clark and husband Jim, June Clark and Norma Jean Metz, all of Barton; and three grandchildren, Garland D. Broadwater III, Jennifer D. Broadwater, and Shannon Broadwater, all of Keyser.

The family will receive friends at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton, on Saturday, Sept. 5, 1998, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted there on Sunday, Sept. 6, at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Randall Larry.

Interment will be in the Bloomington cemetery.

CLYDE C. CUTTER
LONACONING - Clyde Cook Cutter, 62, of 40 Main St., Lana Lu Apartments, Lonaconing, died Wednesday, Oct. 7, 1998, at the Martinsburg VA Hospital, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Dec. 16, 1935, in Lord, Md., he was a son of the late William L. Cutter and Mabel Christina (Cutter) Cutter. He also was preceded in death by one son, Christopher Cutter, Kansas; one sister, Delores Cutter; and one brother, Franklin S. Cutter.

Mr. Cutter was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was Methodist by faith. He was retired from BMY, York, Pa. He was a member of the Midland Sportsman Club; Alvin C. Neat Post 5280 VFW, Lonaconing; James P. Love Post 92 American Legion, Lonaconing; and Lonaconing Republican Club.

Surviving are two daughters, Peggy Cutter Amaro, Manhattan, Kan., and Frona Cutter, Midland; three brothers, William H. Cutter, Klondike, Merrill Cutter, Frostburg, and Harold C. Cutter, Paw Paw, W.Va.; two sisters, Adeline Cutter, Baltimore, and Shirley Moore, Midland; and several grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing, Friday, Oct. 9, 1998, from 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the funeral home Saturday, Oct. 10, 1998, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Richard Mortimore officiating.

Interment will follow in the Maryland State Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap.

Memorial services will be held at the funeral home Friday at 7:30 p.m. by Alvin C. Neat Post 5280 VFW.

BRENDA L. ANTHONY
CUMBERLAND - Brenda Lee (Grimm) Anthony, 34, of Cumberland, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 1998, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland.
Born July 5, 1963, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of Donna (Wertz) Grimm of Cumberland, and the late Floyd A. Grimm. She also was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Norma L. Wertz.

Mrs. Anthony was a former employee of Waterman Seafood, Ocean City. She attended Grace-Kingsley United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Fort Hill High School, Class of 1981, and received her Associate Degree in Accounting from War-Wic Tech Community College in Salisbury.

Surviving in addition to her mother are her maternal grandfather, Floyd A. Wertz Sr. and wife Regina, paternal grandparents, Howard A. Grimm and Dorothy (Harper) Grimm, and a special grandmother, Lois Wilson, all of Cumberland; three brothers, Edward A. Grimm and wife Vivian, Barstow, Calif., Steven W. Grimm, Cumberland, and Thomas S. Grimm and wife Lynn, Wiley Ford, W.Va.; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and a former husband, Dominic Anthony.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 9:30 a.m. with the Rev. Richard H. Jewell officiating.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

MORGAN O. BRODBECK
FROSTBURG - Morgan O. Brodbeck, 72, of Frostburg, died Monday, July 27, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born May 23, 1926, in Wrights Crossing, he was the son of the late John and Ida (Ware) Brodbeck.

A retired carpenter, he was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Janet (Harris) Brodbeck; one son, John E. Brodbeck, and wife, Debbie, Eckhart; two daughters, Donna L. Conrad, and husband, Harold and Janet L. Brodbeck, all of Frostburg; four grandchildren, John E. Brodbeck Jr., Tara L. Conrad, Melissa A. Conrad, and Ryan B. Brodbeck; and three sisters, Mary Jane Cotter, Garfield Heights, Ohio, Naomi Ingrodi, Ocean Hill, and Anna Swinson, Fort Worth, Texas.

Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 W. Main St., Frostburg, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Father Tom Staup officiating.

Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park. Graveside military rites will be accorded by American Legion Farrady Post #24.

Pallbearers will be: John Brodbeck Jr., Ryan Brodbeck, Harold Conrad Sr., Harold Conrad Jr., Melvin Harris and Gary Drees.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church, 58 Broadway, Frostburg, MD 21532.

KATHRYN E. DEROSA
FROSTBURG - Kathryn "Katie" E. DeRosa, 13, of 67 Frost Ave., Frostburg, died Saturday, Aug. 15, 1998, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Sept. 3, 1984, in Fairmont, W.Va., she was the daughter of Norman and Patty (Ice) DeRosa. Her paternal grandparents are Agnes DeRosa and the late Louis DeRosa; and her maternal grandparents are James and Dorothy Ice.

Miss DeRosa was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. She was an honor student at Beall Junior High School, and was to attend Beall Senior High School this fall. She was a member of the Beall High School Band and the Jazz Band. She also participated in shop at the high school.

She was a member of the Community Orchestra and the All-County Orchestra where she played violin. She participated in the Beall Junior High Track Program and was a member of the Beall High School Cross Country Team. On Aug. 8, 1998, she was the first place winner in the Greater Clarksburg (W.Va.) Distance Classic for girls 15 years and younger. She also was a winner in the S.I.R.S. National Writing Contest.

Surviving in addition to her parents and grandparents are one sister, Emily DeRosa; two brothers, Matthew and Christopher DeRosa; and many uncles, aunts and cousins.

Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Christian Wake Service will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Frostburg, on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Paul Byrnes as celebrant.

Interment will be in the Frostburg Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be six cousins, David, Steven, Michael, Eddie, Jack and Drew; and two running friends, Ben Bowman and Billy Caughey.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the Frostburg Library to purchase books and fund special projects in memory of Katie.
