ANN C. BIBLE
NEWTON, N.C. - Ann C. (Hoban) Bible, 90, of Abernathy Center, Newton, formerly of Lonaconing, Md., died Monday, Feb. 2, 1998, at the center.
Born Oct. 29, 1907, in Lonaconing, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Hoban and Margaret (Sullivan) Hoban.
Mrs. Bible was a former member of the Catholic Daughters, a member of the Ladies of the Elks, and a volunteer for the League for Crippled Children.
She also was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Henry Bible, in 1994.
Surviving are one daughter, Peggy Scott and husband Jim of Terrell; one sister, Alice Rodda, Essex, Md.; one cousin, Mary Catherine (Sullivan) Stutzman; five grandchildren, Sally Belliveau, F. James Scott Jr., Cynthia Louise Beasley, Margaret Harding and Paul Scott; and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Leasure-Stein Funeral Home, 230 Baltimore Ave., Cumberland, Md., on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Catholic Church on Friday at 9:30 a.m. with the Rev. Milton Hipsley officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
GLADYS L. DURST
GRANTSVILLE - Gladys Leona Durst, 87, of Frostburg Village and formerly of Grantsville, died Thursday, Sept. 17, 1998, at Frostburg Village.
Born Oct. 21, 1910, in New Germany, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence Delbert Durst and Manie Elizabeth (Broadwater) Durst. On April 28, 1992, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Clark Durst, whom she married
on Nov. 18, 1933. Also preceding her in death were her son Thomas Dale Durst; two grandsons, Timothy Dean Durst and Timothy Clark Durst; two granddaughters, Anya Craig and Sharon Jean Durst; and two brothers, Blaine and Gideon Durst.
Mrs. Durst graduated from Grantsville High School in 1929 and the University of Maryland School of Nursing in 1932. She did private duty nursing for many years. She also attended Dr. N.R. Davis on obstetric calls and was the office nurse for Dr. P. Strong in his Grantsville and Salisbury, Pa., offices. Mrs. Durst was an active member in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints until her illness. She and her husband served several missions in the Washington, D.C., temple of the Church of Jesus Christ in Kensington. She was active throughout her life serving to the needs and well being of others, especially the love and care of her family.
She is survived by two sons, Dean Durst and wife, Joanne, Westminster, Joseph Durst, Grantsville; two daughters, Mildred "Patsy" Pope and husband, Harry, Springs, Pa., Nancy Craig, Lynchburg, Va.; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Yoder, Grantsville; two brothers, Glenn Durst and wife, Mary, Frostburg, Paul Durst and wife, Lois, Grantsville; three sisters, Vera Merrill, New Germany, Dailey Rice, Meyersdale, Pa., Ruby Jenkins and husband, Donald, Randallstown; a sister-in-law, Esther Durst, Grantsville; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., Grantsville, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted on Monday at 1 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, LaVale, with Bishop Steven Grow officiating.
Interment will be in the Grantsville cemetery. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services. Pallbearers will be David Durst, Thomas Durst, Matthew Pope, Steven Brode, John Gundaker, Joseph Durst, Jorge Caceras and Wayne Brode.
Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the Missionary Fund of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
CHARLES "DANNY" BIBLE
FLINTSTONE - Charles Daniel "Danny" Bible, 60, of 22616 Gilpin Road, N.E., Flintstone, died Monday, June 29, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Dec. 9, 1937, in Flintstone, he was the son of the late Frederick Madison Bible, and the late Mabel (Price) Bible Gilson. He also was preceded in death by a brother, Frederick Allen Bible.
Mr. Bible was a retired employee of Kelly Springfield Tire Company. He also was an employee of J.C. Penny in LaVale.
Surviving are his wife, Lina Eloise (Hendrickson) Bible, Flintstone; a daughter, Vicki (Bible) Bowman, and husband, Steve, Flintstone; three brothers, Richard L. Bible, and wife, Faith, Pleasant Valley Road, Flintstone, James Ronald Bible, Flintstone, and Robert Dale Bible, and wife, Joy, Cumberland; two sisters, Shirley Bible Baude, and husband, Bill, Annapolis, and Jean Bible Reddick, and husband, Don, Rockville; and two grandsons, Chad and Todd Bowman, Flintstone.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted on Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., with the Rev. Glenn Jones and the Rev. Fred Iser officiating.
Interment will be in Glendale cemetery, Flintstone.
LILLIAN H. BIERNACKI
CUMBERLAND - Lillian Helen Biernacki, 51, of Cumberland, formerly of Baltimore, died Monday, Nov. 16, 1998, at Memorial Hospital. She was a homemaker and mother.
Surviving are a daughter, Brenda Osborne, New Castle, Del.; and a son, Jim Sexton, Stockton California.
The body will be cremated, and interment will be in Baltimore..
RAY F. BIRD
DEER PARK - Ray F. Bird, 68, died Saturday, April 25, 1998, at her residence. She was born on Aug. 5, 1930.
She was the wife of Alvin H. Bird for 49 years; the mother of Rodney, Janet and Alvin L. Bird Sr.; mother-in-law of Connie, and Bill; and grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Garrett County.

CHARLES D. CARDER
CUMBERLAND - Charles Delmar Carder, 58, of 16013 Brice Hollow Road, S.E., Cumberland, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 12, 1998, at Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Cumberland on Jan. 4, 1940, a son of the late Daniel Edward Carder and the late Mary (Schaidt) Carder.
He was a self-employed service station parts maker. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Carder is survived by his wife, Nancy (Brown) Carder; one son, Joseph Carder, and wife, Kerri, Missouri; three daughters, Jeanette Shook, Cumberland, Elizabeth Carder and Manda Carder, both at home; one sister, Mary Lou Graperhaus, Illinois; two brothers, Sonny Carder, New York, Merv Carder, Missouri; and one grandson, Dylan Carder, Missouri.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home.
Burial will be in Oldtown Methodist cemetery.
VERONICA V. DURR
CUMBERLAND - Veronica Virginia Durr, 87, of Oldtown, passed away Friday, May 15, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born in Cumberland on March 29, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Jack Robinette and the late Margaret (Benn) Robinette Dudley. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Boots" Durr, in 1975.
She was a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church.
She is survived by a son, Paul M. Durr, Oldtown; two sisters, Zetta Davis, Cresaptown, and Olive Barley, Mission Veijo, Calif.; two grandchildren, Paul A. Durr, Fort Rutger, Ala., and Ellen Durr, Bedford, Pa.; and one great-grandchild, Celeste F. Durr.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 10 a.m. by the Rev. Vance Pastorius, O.F.M. Cap.
Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park.
GEORGE M. BISHIELDS SR.
MOUNT SAVAGE - George M. Bishields Sr., 87, of 11717 Bishields Lane, Mount Savage, died Sunday, April 5, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born July 23, 1910, in Mount Savage, he was the son of the late Michael and Congetta (Principe) Bishields. He also was preceded in death by two sisters.
Mr. Bishields was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Mount Savage, and he was a laborer for Local Union 616.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Ruth (Carder) Bishields; two sons, George Bishields Jr. and wife Sandy, Frostburg, and Joseph Bishields, Potomac; one daughter, Donna Turner and husband Robert, Cordova, Tenn.; four sisters, Clara D'Amico, Matilda Norris, Anna Folk and Yolanda Hutzell, all of Mount Savage; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Christian Wake Service will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 7:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Mount Savage, on Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. with the Rev. Milton Hipsley as celebrant.
Interment will be in the St. Patrick's Church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John Lohnas, Craig Lohnas, Scott Fischer, Robert Fetherston, John Pratt and Michael Norris.
