THELMA BARB JONES
BALTIMORE - Thelma Barb Jones died Jan. 17, 1998, at the ManorCare Rehabilitation Center, Baltimore.
She was born Oct. 15, 1916, to the late Hazel Boggs Barb and Russell R. Barb in Cumberland. Also preceding her in death were her husband, Orilas P. Jones, Sr.; and two brothers, Harding L. Barb and Audrel L. Barb.

She is survived by two sons, Carroll Robert Jones, Sr., and wife, Carolyn, Canfield, Ohio, and Orilas P. Jones, Jr., and wife, Joyce, Baltimore; three brothers, Gerald L. Barb and wife, Alpha, Lindale, Texas, William Donald Barb, Cumberland, and Ronald E. Barb and wife, Roberta, Cumberland. Three sisters, Dorothea Iser, St. George, S.C., Audrey L. Jewell and husband, William W., Cumberland, and Elwanda J. Jackson, Sumter, S.C. Also surviving are three grandsons; two granddaughters; one great-grandson; and one great-granddaughter.

Her body was donated to medical science.

ANNA LENORA IMES
LAVALE - Anna Lenora Imes, 76, of LaVale, died Monday, March 9, 1998, at Memorial Hospital.
Born April 16, 1921, in Chaneysville, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Charles H. Imes and the late Carrie R. (Gordon) Imes. She also was preceded in death by four sisters and a brother.

Miss Imes was a retired sales lady from Burton's where she worked for 15 years. She resided in Akron, Ohio, for 35 years, where she worked as a waitress and in the hotel industry. She was a member of Local #118 Hotel and Restaurant Employees, and was a former member of Local #6 United Rubber Workers, both in Akron. She was a member of Centre Street United Methodist Church in Cumberland.

Surviving are three sisters, Hilda Brant, Phoenixville, Pa., Bertha Shaffer, Orlando, Fla., and Mary Morris, Bellevue, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.

At the request of Miss Imes, her body was cremated at The Cumberland Crematory. Arrangements were handled by the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland.

BETTY J. HALCOMB
LAKE DALLAS, Texas - Betty J. Halcomb, 58, of Lake Dallas, formerly of Mount Savage, Md., died Sunday, Aug. 16, 1998, in Fort Worth.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorann Halcomb-Edward, in 1997.

Mrs. Halcomb was a homemaker.

Surviving are her husband, Aaron Halcomb, Lake Dallas; son, Kenneth Halcomb, and wife, Susan, Rossville, Ga.; daughter Virginia Halcomb-Baker, and husband Bob, Colleyville; three sisters, Hazel Davis, Cumberland, Md., Elsie Watson, Cumberland, and Kathleen Gordon, Wiley Ford, W.Va.; five grandchildren; and several special nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, Colleyville, on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Graveside services and interment will be conducted in the Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park on Wednesday at noon.

R. VERONICA "RONNIE" HAGER
CUMBERLAND - R. Veronica "Ronnie" Hager, 80 of 516 Riehl Ave., Cumberland, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born March 4, 1917, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late Rodger J. Murray and the late Rose V. (McDonald) Murray.

Mrs. Hager was retired from PPG Industries where she served 22 years as secretary to the purchasing agent and plant buyer. She was a graduate of Allegany High School class of 1936 and Catherman's Business School. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Sodality of the Blessed Mother, and the AARP.

Surviving are a husband, Robert E. Hager, Cumberland; two sons, Robert E. Hager, Jr., and wife, Rosaline, Damascus, and Ralph W. Hager and wife Patricia, Mitchellville; a brother, J. Donald Murray, Cumberland; four grandchildren, Christina Hager, Amy Hager and Philip Hager, all of Damascus, and Brook Hager, Mitchellville; and one great-grandson, Daniel Buruca, Damascus.

Visitation will be private.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Thomas R. Bevan, celebrant.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

Arrangements were made by Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland.

VIOLET E. IMES
CUMBERLAND - Violet E. Imes, 77, of Elm Street, Cumberland, died Sunday, June 21, 1998, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 1, 1920, at Napier, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Edith (Turner) McCreary. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Franklin Imes.

Mrs. Imes was a homemaker. She was a member of the Glendale Church of the Brethren, Flintstone.

Surviving are one daughter, Mary Ann Jones, Cumberland; one son, Stephen A. Imes and wife, Kate, Baltimore; one step-son, Benjamin Imes Jr., and wife, Alice, Ridgeley, W.Va.; two granddaughters, Michelle Lynn Imes, Stephanie Ann Imes, both of Baltimore; two grandsons, Alan Imes and Rick Imes, both of Ridgeley; eight great-grandchildren, Garfield McCubbin, Stephen McCubbin, Eric McCubbin, Brittney McCubbin and Damien Dukes, all of Baltimore, Tessa Imes, Jill Imes, and Daniel Imes, all of Ridgeley.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Richard E. Ketterman officiating.

Interment will be in the Glendale cemetery, Flintstone.

ELOISE HAHN
CUMBERLAND - Eloise Holliday Hahn, 79, of Utah Avenue, Cumberland, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Jan. 25, 1918, in Cresaptown, she was the daughter of the late James E. Holliday and Carrie L. (Twigg) Holliday. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Hezekiah Hahn Jr.; three brothers, James "Jack" Holliday, John Holliday and Gene Holliday; and two sisters, Audrey Holliday Smith and Willetta Holliday Nelson.

Mrs. Hahn worked at the Celanese Corp. for 10 years.

Surviving are one son, Richard L. Hahn and wife Barbara, Artemas, Pa.; one granddaughter, Michel Diehl and husband Craig, Cumberland; two sisters, Nellie Holliday Eaton and Hermenia Holliday Croston, both of Cumberland; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Leasure-Stein Funeral Home, 230 Baltimore Ave., Cumberland, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Raymond McCoy officiating.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

RICHARD W. GREEN
FROSTBURG - Richard Wenrich Green, 83, of 157 Mount Pleasant St., Frostburg, died Saturday, March 28, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Jan. 17, 1915, in Altoona, Pa., he was the son of the late Dr. William A. and Maude M. (Wenrich) Green. He also was preceded in death by three brothers, Dr. Zane A.W. Green, the Rev. L. Vance Green and William G. Green; and one sister, Zelda Green Stevens. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Mr. Green was a 1933 graduate of Altoona High School. He formerly was employed as a parts manager with Heiskell Motor Sales, Kowell Ford, and Shaffer Ford. He retired after 44 years of service with the Ford Motor Company.

Mr. Green was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Frostburg. He attained the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. He was a member of the Frostburg Arion and Ali Ghan Bands. He also was a member of the Frostburg Elks #470, Ali Ghan Shrine Temple, Mountain Lodge #99 - A.F. & A.M., Royal Arch Masons, Antioch Commandery No. 6, Knights Templar, and Royal Order of Jesters.

A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he served for four years in the medical corps in England and France from July 1943 to March 1947.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Thelma (Dennison) Green, Frostburg; one daughter, Sandra G. Green, Watkinsville, Ga.; two sons, Richard W. Green II, and wife, Mary Ann, Springfield, Va., and John A. Green and wife, Susan, Tampa, Fla.; four grandchildren, Zane E.W. Green, Brandyn E. Green, Jenna L. Green and Garrett A. Green; sister-in-law, Lucille M. Green, Altoona, Pa.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Memorial services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 7:15 p.m. by the Frostburg Elks Lodge; Mountain Lodge 99 at 8 p.m.; followed by the Ali Ghan Shrine Band.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Donald F. Sause officiating. Interment will be in Frostburg memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be members of the Ali Ghan Shrine Band.
